In our case, my wife and I put our belongings in storage prior to a cross-country move. The team came to our home promptly to make an estimate and schedule a date to load everything. On that date, they arrived on time and performed a fast and efficient loading of all our things. They also arranged for the safe and timely transportation of our cars across country. When we were moved into our new home, our belongings were delivered quickly. Every item was safe and sound, including many musical instruments and other fragile items. During the months in which our belongings were in storage, communications with the company were always polite and prompt. We used Andy's to move my daughter from a 3rd floor apartment in Glendale to a 4th floor apartment in Huntington Beach. We liked the fact that there was a virtual walkthrough so everything could be accounted for, including the walkway down the halls to the elevator. Kevin and his team of guys did a fantastic job! It was a very hot day and the apartment we moved out of had a small elevator. They were able to unload everything in 2 hours. These guys were great. They handled a full service moving job for us, packing up all our stuff and transporting it from SoCal to NorCal using the same group of guys on each end within just a few days. Everything went smoothly with no hiccups whatsoever. The foreman Robert and his crew were punctual, hardworking, efficient, and professional, always addressing us as "sir" and "ma'am" and soliciting our instructions throughout the process. Most importantly, they were very careful with our stuff, with minimal dings or other damage that I've encountered with the carelessness of so many other movers. They handled a number of large and fragile items and we were amazed at how they were able to move them up and down stairs with a lot of effort but no problems. It was obvious that they were highly experienced and went out of their way to do a good job at every step. Since we'd heard so many nightmare stories about moving experiences, we were nervous about things going in, but were both relieved and impressed by the job that Andy's Transfer and Storage did. Their rates were competitive and they didn't charge us for a number of extras and favors that they threw in, like removing an old washing machine and taking it down two flights of stairs in our new house. Our recently purchased condo was almost ready in early July 2022. So we contacted Andy's moving Co almost 2 weeks in advance to inform them about our moving schedule. An expert was sent the next day to our rental apartment for initial assessments. They provided us free packaging boxes and on the moving day their professional people did a great job without our intervention. The moving people were quick and accurate and everything went to the destination without any damage. We recently used Andy's for 2 moves. One local, one farther away. From the beginning, Andy's was organized and professional. A representative came out to talk with us about the move including what we wanted, what was going where and suggestions regarding packing and timing. A quote was sent timely and outlined exactly what we had discussed. As we got closer to the move the office called to confirm and even dropped off some packing supplies so we could do a few things in advance. What a misleading move by this company and North American Van lines. We specifically told this group that have our shipment would be unpacked in Arizona several months after we moved to Utah. They packed our stuff on the truck with 3 or 4 other loads and lost some of our very important items. Of course when you file a claim for missing items it gets denied. I would seriously consider using another moving company, one that honors what they say. Frankly a 1 star rating is to high. read more

I just ran into these 2 guys at a porter ranch gas station and they were so rude and unprofessional. He was shoving his car trying to make me move while raising his hand in the air giving me the finger.... He literally would have hit my car just to get out of the gas station first while driving around with other peoples valuables. I would never trust them to move my property just based on the way they drive... Also he drove off the sidewalk in that big truck because he was in such a rush. I moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver, Washington. I contracted with Andy's Transfer and Storage for the move. My move was not an easy one. At my old house there are 28 steps from the sidewalk to the front door and I moved into a two story house. Kim and Taz were so helpful with the scheduling and estimating the job. I did a major cross-continental move with Andy's. I wrote a review arriving, explaining how the company crew were surly, rough with my boxes and, then, lost/destroyed a couple of my bins. Now that the claim process is finished, I thought I would write another, updated review. Surprise, surprise, the claim process concluded that the company did not have to compensate me for my possessions that they lost/destroyed -- despite the fact that their own driver had witnessed my lost/destroyed property. It's so sad when companies make mistakes and then won't accept responsibility for it. My claim was small. They could have just paid it and apologized. That's what I would have done. read more

Andy's Transfer & Storage moved us from Pasadena to Riverside in April. It wasn't an easy move - we had lived in the same house for 20 years and had a lot of stuff, requiring two trucks, and several weeks in storage while we waited for our new house to close escrow. Our new home is in an old neighborhood with narrow streets and the larger truck couldn't come up close to the house, so they had to shuttle the stuff in. The move wasn't cheap, but they did a substantial amount of packing for us, moving everything from antique china to a large motorcycle. Before we even got started, Shelly came to our house and did a very thorough job explaining the moving process. Tim and his crew were friendly and efficient packing and loading the trucks. We're about 75% done unpacking and everything unpacked so far is in good shape. They warned us about the Ikea bookcases (particle board with glass doors), and even they held up. Much of our other furniture is very heavy and they brought it up and downstairs without any problem. All in all, they were professional and ethical. Much appreciated! read more

Might be ok for local moves, but for inter-state they'll sub-contract your move out to unknown parties. Just moved from LA to NY But their own operation isn't that great either. The packing crew was incompetent - complaining about the estimator, packing toilet brushes in with food, yelling at each other, and pretending to pack boxes that they did not actually pack (but charged me for anyway, of course) The loading crew was ok, but the trucker and arrival went terribly. 9 hours late. Lost boxes. When I called Andy's to complain, they basically said: "Sorry, not our problem" - call NA Van Lines. They took no ownership of the situation. Just because Andy's might have good reviews doesn't mean anything if they will have someone else actually execute the move. Of course the driver fled right after he dropped off the last box - and we didn't realize that we hadn't gotten two of them because the guy filled out the inventory sheet himself. Some of them we checked off - but incorrectly as the driver and his assistant were either dyslexic or lacking in the English language enough to call out the right numbers. And anyway, when the driver says "9am, Sunday" for drop off and arrives at 6pm Sunday - and finally finishes unloading at 9pm - at a second location no less - how likely is it that a customer is going to notice that two boxes are missing? So we're out $600 worth of stuff, and Andy's says "not their problem"... So much for customer service read more

The saleman said he would be at our home to supervise on the day of our move, he wasn't. The salesman said that Andy's makes sure that none of their employees had been drinking or taking drugs. Numerous moving workiers showed up intoxicated. The saleman said that their employees were carefully screened and none had criminal records. When the movers saw my Attorney at Law sign, they all started asking questions about their upcoming criminal matters, including probation violation hearings. In a very short move of less than one mile, we lost about three thousand dollars in property. My hats off to them, I have no idea how they were abel to steal so much stuff. The moving company generously paid us 60 cents per pound for our lost and damaged goods. Out over $5000 and we received less than $300. Oh, and somehow, the move cost more than double the written estimate. read more

Andy's has the feel of a small family-owned business because that's exactly what it is. I was taken care of and informed at every step of my move, from working out the pricing to the insurance to basic timing. They were pro-active in contacting me for when my windows of pick-up and delivery would be and great at updating me with any changes. What folks need to understand and why these previous reviews are probably rated the way they are is that cross-country moves with a van line like North American has inherent lag time and subsequent frustration. The reason it's so inexpensive (relative to personalized single-family movers) is that they have to coordinate amongst multiple parties moving across multiple states and cities. It's like naming your own price on priceline- you're given a window for a less expensive moving experience. The trade-off is you have to be flexible. Now I did pack my own move in order to save on expense and ensure everything was packed the way I wanted it (I'm very particular) so I had no experience with packers and if you're like me, then maybe that's the way to go. However, their contracted van line North American, and the driver/mover assigned to my move was fantastic. Mike was his name and his crew was prompt, polite, and easy to work with. Especially in navigating the narrow paths of both apartment complexes I moved from and into. They were very careful with my things and took the time to ensure everything I had was marked, that I took note of it, and if any of my boxes weren't packed "sturdy" enough to survive the move, helped me re-pack at no charge. They were never rude or disgruntled and constantly reassured me that "they were there to make sure everything was stress-free for me." My previous experience in moving from California to Pennsylvania was the complete opposite experience. This was with another similar local-national moving company. The movers were untimely, rude, and took over a month to deliver our things. When they did arrive, there were multiple items broken, including my significant other's unique iron bed-frame. Their response? "Uh, it was like that when we put it on the truck," which was complete nonsense and a blatant lie. Luckily we were able to bend it back into shape after significant effort and exertion. This was not the case with Andy's! Personal service, assurances on anything if it was broken when it arrived, and follow up to make sure the experience was a positive one. Oh, and nothing was broken, bent, damaged, or crushed. My boxes looked as if they had just been placed on the truck. You get a ridiculously good price for a move that stand-alone would cost at least a few thousand dollars, if not a good deal more. I recommend Andy's completely. Any frustration I felt regarding delivery dates was simply the logistical exchange for a decently priced move. I was shocked to read about the other three reviews (two of which were posted last year). I don't know if they've changed anything in their policies or employees since then, but my experience couldn't be any more different. From my understanding, they've been a family owned business for years and the three other reviews on here don't do them justice. I'd hate for a local business to get such a bad rap that is, in my opinion and experience, undeserved. read more

The best of all, they were still in good spirits and great sports despite the crazy heavy furniture they moved all day. Completely met our needs, promptly, courteously, and well within budget. That made this a very cost effective move for us. Estimate was a bit more than I thought it should be, but the actual move proved to be exactly what I had anticipated and thought it should be. Estimate was a "not to exceed estimate", while actual bill was "actual time & distance". Movers Kevin and Josh were very prompt arriving, performed flawlessly thoughout the move. They were flexible at both ends, respected the antique and sentimental nature of many of the items. Shelley was flexible in compiling the estimate, explaining the specifics and pointing out things that may be very time consuming that we could take care of ourselves and save a lot of the movers' time.
