I'll start off by saying -- my booking and moving day experience were incredible. The quote I was given for my 1 bedroom pack and move was better than any of the other estimates I got from other movers, and the company had come highly recommended by friends, so I pulled the trigger and booked it. Moving day came, and my moving guys showed up on time (on the early end of the window I was given) and after a brief tour and explanation of what needed to be done, they got right to work. Those guys were meticulous and on top of it. Didn't take any breaks and took care with all my items. A couple hours in, one of them hurt his back and got sent home, and so the lead mover explained to me that my hourly rate would be lowering from the 3 guys + truck rate to the 2 guys + truck rate while they tried to find someone to come take the injured man's place. The two movers finished packing and loading up my place and they told me they were taking their break between loading and unloading, which seemed smart. My new place was only 5 minutes away from my old place. About an hour later, they arrived at the new place with two MORE guys and explained that I would have 4 guys + truck for the 3 guy rate for the remainder of the move. Terrific! I thought. The four of them were incredibly fast. Finished unloading in just over an hour. The lead mover went over the details of my bill, but I'll admit I was utterly exhausted and just trusted that everything was right because they'd been so honest and communicative up until that point. It wasn't until today that I was comparing my bank statements with my original estimate that I realized the end amount had been above the original estimate range, which seemed odd to me because one of the movers had even commented that I had less stuff than what they're used to. When I looked at the itemized bill, I saw that in the last block of unloading period, they'd charged me for 3 hours, instead of the hour that it originally took (and that the amount of time at the 2 mover rate had also been rounded up -- we'd ended at 2:05 and they said 2:30). All in all, I feel like I was overcharged about $500. All of this might be super nitpicky, and I'll admit, I woke up this morning extremely happy with the entire moving experience. It wasn't until I checked my charges against the original estimate that I had any negative feelings about the experience at all. Would I use Real RocknRoll movers again? Yes, absolutely. They took care of my stuff and were professional and hardworking. But next time, I will force myself to really examine the final bill and track the labor hours more carefully so I don't get overcharged again. read more

I have moved with REAL RocknRoll Movers 3 times now. This time I splurged for the pack and move. They boxed everything and labeled everything super well. They came the day before and packed from 8a-1p. I then went to my new place (I had already moved a new bed into my new place) with my pet and stayed there that night. The following day, the same crew (plus another person) came and loaded everything from my old apartment. They did a great job navigating the tight spaces of my old apartment. When we got to my new place, they did a great job, were fast, and helped me follow my HOA move in rules. There was some issues with staging the boxes in my new place, we didn't realize how many boxes there truly were. Although tensions were high they completed the job and we successfully moved everything in. After a long day they even remembered to get my Peloton screen back on! I am finally writing this review because I've unpacked the final boxes, and only two things broke (out of a LOT of items) - and these items were already broken before and I had fixed them with superglue a few years ago, so I just had to re-superglue them together - definitely not their fault! This past weekend, I used REAL RockNRoll Movers and they truly lived up to their name. Total rockstars from start to finish! Leading up to the move, their communication was excellent. They clearly set expectations, sent emails/texts to explain the moving process and provided straightforward pricing with no surprises. I also really appreciated how accessible the team was; every time I called, someone picked up right away, and I could tell it was a real human thoughtfully responding to my questions over text and email. What was supposed to be a straightforward one-day move turned into a two-day curveball, and they handled it all with professionalism and patience. Our original plan was foiled when - separately through another company - we realized we'd have to upgrade from two Pods to a full trailer for our cross-country move. That created a last-minute change in timing and logistics, but the RockNRoll team was there to help me. We anticipated hitting another snag at the Pod facility (it becomes a safety issue loading past 5:00 PM) and Billy stepped in immediately. He was empathetic, calm, and quick to troubleshoot a solution, offering to hold our stuff on their lot until we could finish - despite a fully booked weekend. That flexibility and responsiveness made a stressful situation feel manageable. Colin, Anthony, and Moises were absolutely incredible. We ABSOLUTELY would move with Real RocknRoll Movers again and will recommend them without hesitation! The price was fair, the guys (Ben, Drake, & Andrew) went far above and beyond. They fit us in on very short notice. Excellent communication from pre-booking through delivery. We hired Real RocknRoll to move our items from our place into a POD at the PODS center. From there it was transported across the country. Ben oversaw the whole process and carefully made sure every thing was properly wrapped at pick-up and packed perfectly into the POD. NOTHING was damaged...every inch of the POD was maximized. All three guys completely busted their butts. They got the job done quickly and efficiently. They asked questions about items to make sure things were done right. I can't give higher praise for these guys. We had a LOT of stuff...and a lot of heavy stuff. I don't know how they kept such great attitudes with all the stuff they had to move. I've had bad moves with other companies in the past (missing stuff, broken stuff, showing up late). I used these guys for pack and move service. I was mostly happy with my move just a few items of feedback: On the email confirmation it stated that packing services sometimes are completed the day before a move. I wish that had been the case as it was a mad dash at the end of the day to try to make it to the storage unit before it closed. We actually got locked out of the unit/gate but were able to have someone hold the door open so we could get everything inside. A bit stressful. Also, due to the rushed end, I was unable to do a final walk-through of my house and when I went back there were a bunch of items left behind. I had to fill my SUV to the top with stuff that wasn't packed up. In addition, 2 large items outside were left behind. I know the truck was very full and we were rushed for time, but I ended up having to rent a truck to move the items the next day on my own. In the end I owed overtime pay which left me with a crazy bill. I expected some of it, though their email did state that there would be a "not to exceed" quote, which I never received. I forgot to ask about it at the beginning of the day and by the end I was so tired I just wanted to be done with everything and paid. Otherwise, the guys were awesome and organized and helpful. I was grateful for all their help and, except for the end of the day, felt very stress-free during a very sudden and sad move. We've used this moving company three times over the years, and until now, we had no complaints. In fact, we specifically requested the same crew, including Julio, because of the good experiences we had in the past. Unfortunately, this most recent move.. helping my elderly father relocate between an apartment to an senior living residences just 20 minutes apart--was a complete disappointment. From the start, Julio was visibly upset and took that frustration out on my dad, as well as on other residents and staff at the senior home. His attitude was rude, short-tempered, and completely unprofessional, especially considering the setting and the fact that he had worked with us before. It was uncomfortable and upsetting to watch someone treat seniors that way. To make things worse, multiple items were broken during the move, and the entire process took much longer than expected - despite the short driving distance. The final bill ended up being far higher than it should have been for what should have been a simple job. On a positive note, David and Moses, the other two movers, were frustrated but kind, respectful, and patient throughout the day. I truly appreciate the way they handled themselves and tried to keep things on track despite the circumstances. My father has decided not to pursue any follow-up or resolution with the company. He just wants to move on and enjoy his new home. I'm writing this review not to stir anything up, but in hopes it helps others, especially those moving senior family members. It's important to know that a company's past performance doesn't always guarantee the same quality every time. We won't be using this company again, and I'd advise others to be cautious. I can't recommend these guys enough!! This is my 2nd time using RRRM; they did an amazing job 12 years ago for that, so I had to book them again for my recent move. Taz and Leo were TRUE rock stars. My couch, a two piece sectional, did not fit through the hallway of my new place... there was no way it was coming through. When they told me the "bad news," the shocked, very freaked out/sad look on my face, prompted Taz to insist: "Nah, we gotta get this in... can't see that look on her face..." (something to that effect). They immediately decided to bring the couch through my balcony--using the top of their moving truck as a ladder. I'm confused by all the positive reviews (on the basis of which I booked this company), so I'm leaving a more honest one so people considering movers have a clearer picture. They're not bad movers, they're fine...but they're a little bit worse than the other similar companies I've used, yet they're more expensive. Some negatives from my recent move with them: - despite sending them a detailed inventory of every item that was being moved, they sent a truck that was too small so we had to make an extra trip (with the billable hours running). - lost a few of the screws from my bed frame but didn't tell me. I discovered it later when I checked why the bed was suddenly unstable and creaking. - put the mattress on the bed sideways for some reason - didn't fully reassemble a bookcase, I ended up having to finish it myself. - left dining chairs stacked up together in saran wrap, instead of fully unpacking them. - dropped a couple boxes (no big deal, nothing breakable) - A very obnoxious nickel & dime pricing structure. They charge a 7% fee for packing material, and I don't mean boxes, I mean standard things like moving blankets. On a move costing a couple thousand, this means you're paying $150 for them to bring basic supplies that other companies include as standard. On top of that, they charge additional fees like $20 to "rent" a cardboard box from them for the move. - equally obnoxious damage/liability policy. If they damage your items, they'll pay you 60 cents per pound of the damaged item, regardless of what the item is or how much it costs. This is actually insane. Some positives: - crew was nice and friendly - worked quickly -were very accommodating when I changed my mind about where certain furniture should go and asked them to move it back and forth between different rooms Again, they're not bad movers, but they're not great either. I find myself wishing I'd just used one of the cheaper alternatives since the quality would've been the same or better.o read more

We went with this company because of the rave reviews here and elsewhere, and unfortunately did not have the same positive experience as others. Booking was fairly straightforward, and the four movers arrived on time and were reasonably friendly. We were well prepared for the move, as they requested, and things started off at a good pace. But then the movers proceeded to take 8 hours to pack our kitchen and move our 2bd/1ba apartment. The team lead worked steadily all day, but the three other dudes definitely were not on his level and it showed. For the last hour or so, they were basically just hanging out by the truck while the team lead reassembled our bed frames. They even left one of our items sitting outside our home - we found it later that night. They also damaged several items, including putting a huge scratch on our dining room table, and scratches on framed artwork due to improper wrapping for transport, and they didn't leave the screws for our TV stand anywhere that we can find them. I talked to the team lead about my concerns when we settled up, and was really upset to learn that not only could he not take off anything for damages, - he just referred me to their customer service - but also that because on top of the drive time, our move took so long that we owed time and a half for an "overtime" hour, which felt like adding insult to injury. It ended up costing us roughly $2500, which is an insane amount of money for a move of this size. I wrote to the company to complain about the damages, and note our other concerns about the dragged out timeframe of the move, and the only response I received was an apology for the damages and a link to a form to fill out to get some compensation. There was no comment at all on anything else I brought up, which really does not speak well to their customer service. I am sure the quality of each move varies from team to team, but after an increasingly stressful move day and lackluster customer service, I could not recommend this company. read more

This was my first time hiring professional movers, and Drake and Gabe were SO EFFICIENT! This service was worth every penny with how speedy and communicative everyone was. I was honestly shocked by the speed at which they moved all the boxes out of my 1-bedroom apartment. I had a total of 14 boxes (a mix of medium and large), and they moved all of them in 15 minutes, maybe even less, from my apartment, down 2 flights of stairs, and a short walk to their moving truck. As far as loading up and disassembling swrapping my furniture with the boxes and my furniture and miscellaneous things, it took about 1.5 hours. For unloading the truck, that also took around 1.5 hours, including unwrapping and placing all the furniture and boxes. Overall, it was a very stress-free process for me from inquiring about rates to the booking process (very detailed email and form) to the actual moving day (all done in about 3 hours from a 1-bed to a 2-bed apartment)! My only comment would be to make sure you have a list to track all the items in your move, including big furniture, miscellaneous pieces, and boxes and size of boxes, just to double check that your items are accounted for once the movers begin packing up. I'd definitely hire these guys for my future move and would recommend them to anyone in the general LA area! read more

Honestly, I had used these guys before and had a good experience. They arrived on time, had a large truck, and moved everything very efficiently. But this last time, I would never suggest anyone use them. First off, they arrived right at the end of their arrival window with a truck that's only good for a studio apartment, for a mid-sized 1 bedroom apartment when I told them in the initial survey that I had a LOT of furniture and would likely have a lot of boxes. They spent half an hour deciding what they would do (make two trips or go back and get a bigger truck) and asked ME what to do and what they thought the best decision would be. I told them multiple times they needed to go get a bigger truck. The only saving grace to this whole experience is that they didn't charge me for the time they arrived and went to go get the larger truck. Once they finally arrived with the new truck around 11:45AM, I told them "Everything has to go." "Everything? Is this going? Is THIS going?" Yes, we already did a walkthrough before they left where I explained that everything needed to go. I ended up continuing to say that everything needed to go every ten minutes until they claimed they were packed up and ready to go. There was still a LOT of things that needed to go, but they didn't have enough room in the (slightly bigger) truck they brought, and they refused to pack any of the moving bins that I have outside of the speedpacks that they brought, so they were only able to pack much of my stuff about 4 feet high in the truck instead of packing it all the way to the roof. They asked me if I wanted to take some pictures, then when I said "Yes, everything needs to go, I have a Fiat that's why I hired you guys", they said, "Well, we can't take them. We don't have enough room and they'd be safer with you than us." They took lunch and got to my new place later on. I took all of the movers on a walkthrough of the apartment and said, "Please put everything in the dining room then, when that's full, put it in the spare bedroom." Despite that, they asked me every time they brought a load up "Where would you like this?" "In the Dining Room, or the spare bedroom." Every. time. It was an incredibly frustrating experience. At the end, around 6:30PM they said they were done. I was beyond done dealing with it and said ok. They wanted $1900. This is way too much for moving a one bedroom apartment across Los Angeles. I was expecting around $1200. I paid and gave a small tip because, at the time, I assumed they hadn't broken or lost anything. I later went to the old apartment to find that they threw one of my display risers from my glass shelves onto the floor and broke it (and didn't tell me), and they lost the hand to a $200 godzilla figurine which is now worthless because they packed it without asking me. They also left me with several car loads of stuff that I now have to cart over in my Fiat to my new place. It's extremely unfortunate that I had this experience. read more

With his help, we were able to get a Certificate of Insurance to the City of Burbank, which enabled us to get a Street Use Permit for the moving truck at both locations. He also sent super helpful guides on how to pack most efficiently for the day. On the day, Jose and his team showed up and rocked out. He walked through the apartment with me. We made a game plan together. Then he and the team hit it in high-gear. Boxes disappeared from our living room. It started to rain during the move, so the team took special care to carefully wrap all of our belongings. Inevitably, a few boxes got wet, but the furniture was bone dry on delivery. After delivering to our new condo, Jose and team unwrapped an re-assembled items they had disassembled to get on the truck. Now our unboxing adventure begins! I got a referral from one of my real estate agents (an associate of my main agent) - The reviews overall seemed positive so I thought I'd go with them even though the pricing was a little high IMO. I didn't know later that the pricing would go up all the way to $950 for a 2 bed / 2 bath condo. I tipped them 20 percent at least but later I regretted tipping them that much. They were friendly enough but were slow and seemed not very organized. I was expecting amazing service after my last movers 7 years earlier that were only $350 for the move. I thought paying this much I should get spotless no damage seamless service but that wasn't the case. I noticed my desk was damaged beyond repair and my desk chair was missing a nob and was now all wobbly. One of the movers was putting back together a bed and kept dropping stuff super loudly so I was worried I would now have floor damage. They were not very careful with items and I have yet to unpack everything and I'm sure I will find more damage. Plus there was a cat step wall item that did NOT need to be taken apart and the guy I saw was doing that and I said do you really do this? Then later i find it in my garage flung on the floor with NO HARDWARE so now it's worthless to me. He didn't put the hardware with it when he tore it apart for no reason. I wanted to like these guys and moving is a hard business - I get it! But I do NOT think they used much common sense and were slow and it took much longer than my previous move with more damage and $600 more money! Also this was my fault - I left early because I had some distressed pets at my new place and they were seriously freaked out but I should have stayed until they were done but they were taking so long I lost my patience and went back after I asked them if it were ok. Then they left my garage door to my unit open with my air conditioner running while I'm cooling down the garage all night long! I did have a neighbor friend check that they shut the garage main door and locked my front door but I seriously was EXTREMELY disappointed so far in their service and I again expect to find more damage. Luckily, my heirlooms from my grandmother I took myself and any major breakables. I had a bad experience moving last time but this was twice as bad and 3 times as expensive. I expect them to take my review down since it seems they only have for the most part "positive raving reviews" but don't believe it!! I would go w/another company and definitely will not use them every again! Lesson learned- There is a damage sheet I can fill out but from what I've read I doubt I'm getting much compensation for the damage and the hassle of the items I can no longer use since they damaged them beyond repair- :( rock n roll movers might be a good name for them - they rock and roll your items and damage them!!
