This is the most unprofessional company I have ever encountered! They lied about what was included in their estimate! They even print that there was no hidden fees however at the last minute they tried to make me pay for items that were originally supposed to be included in the estimate! Showed up on time, professional, efficient. All that you can ask for! Our move was done under 2 hours. Moved contents of 1 room to ALF. They were also the only ones available for a Saturday morning slot with 2 weeks notice and the only ones with a 2man, 2 hour minimum. All others were 3man, 3 hour minimum which would've been overkill for our move. They were a lifesaver! Highly recommended. read more

I would not recommend this moving company at all. I hired them to help with my move, and several of my belongings were damaged because they were not careful. They broke my $2,000 table in half. They attempted to repair it, but the repair was done poorly, and they even used black marker on top of the granite to try to hide the damage. My $1,500, 10-year-old Dracaena tree was also damaged, with three of the heads knocked off. A few other items were damaged as well. Overall, the movers did not handle my belongings with care, and the way the damage was addressed was completely unacceptable. Moving is already stressful enough, and dealing with broken furniture, damaged plants, and poor repairs made the experience even worse. I would not use this company again and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I gave them a call for a quote, and it was not only affordable, but they offered a discount if they were to finish earlier than 5 and a half hours. Not only did they show up earlier than the start time, but immediately from the get-go they started packing everything into the truck! My wife and I were super impressed by how they tackled every piece of furniture, the several heavy boxes, and miscellaneous heavy items with ease! And our new place had narrow stairs and tight turns, but they made it feel like I was watching a well-rehearsed dance. I was blown away with the skill and speed they pack and moved everything. I was stressed the week of the move, but by buddy was right: they are the best in the business, and finished before the initial quoted time! I will swear by them and continue spreading the gospel. This review is concerning a cross country move. At this point in time we've repaired a damaged table at our own cost, and our new neighbors are still waiting to be reimbursed for thousands of dollars of damage to their property due to the intentional negligence of the truck drivers. It has been almost three months since the move, and the damages incurred have not been fixed after many back and forth phone calls. My husband and I chose this company based on the good reviews and the reasonable quote. The first part of the move was fine. The movers that packed our items were very efficient. We did have most of out belongings packed in bins, but needed the furniture and framed pictures to be wrapped. Unfortunately a circa $1300-1800 Stickley side table was dropped at some point. Tom's movers offered to have it fixed for us by "one of their guys", but would not give us a date, time, number, name, nor review of this fix it person/company, so we chose to fix it ourselves by a reputable local Stickley dealer. The real damage took place on the delivery day. It was agreed that our belongings would be transferred to a smaller truck before being delivered because our new place was off of a very steep road and corner. Apparently the driver ignored this agreement and arrived in a huge semi truck. As predicted, the angles of the road would not allow for such a long truck to get to our house, but boy did he try. The driver tried to maneuver up the hill and around the curve by using our neighbor's drive way. Not only did he pull out a sign post saying "do not enter", but the address post too- neither of which were replaced. The weight of this huge semi and countless attempts to get around our corner, left deep grooves in the driveway and yard...thousands of dollars of damage. After throwing in the towel so to speak, the truck remained parked down the hill causing the movers to have to drag all of our belongings up a steep slope. It was nearly 11pm - 8 hours after arrival that our things were moved in. Bottom line, our neighbors are getting the runaround and have yet to reach an agreement with the company. We are left feeling guilty and helpless. So think twice before looking only at the money you will be saving by using this company. If you do, watch closely, what they wrap and how they wrap it, etc. Some of our least valuable/fragile pieces were wrapped better than those that needed it most, and some pieces would have been left behind had we not noticed. How we could have prevented the fiasco upon arrival, I do not know. Throw ourselves in front of the truck? Hopefully this will all be resolved. Good luck out there. read more

These guys crushed it. My wife and I barely got to packing for a move across LA. Toms team showed up, got the packing done quickly, respectfully, and competently, and got us into our no house with 0 drama. The move included navigating a 77" TV with a very annoying wall mount (LG G4). They handled it easily, and their TV Install vendor reinstalled it on the new wall and made it look awesome. TLDR: Hire them...hire them today! Up till now, I've never hired movers. But as I age and also run out of friends, I decided it was time. I am SO happy I chose this company. The guys were fantastic. Fast, efficient, careful, and incredibly organized. Communication was first rate, including their expectations for us. (More on that in a sec.) And they were much less expensive than expected. I chose them in part because I called around and everyone I spoke to had this complicated billing calculus that felt vaguely sketchy: truck fee, two times travel time, and other assorted nonsense. But these guys gave me a flat hourly rate for a crew of three. The clock started ticking when they arrived--early, for the record--and it ended when we signed the paperwork. I should say, and they'll tell you this themselves, that the speed and ease of your move depends on how organized YOU are. If you're stuff is packed and ready, then you can just stay out of the way and let them do their thing. But if you're half-packed when they show up, then it'll be a different story. Bottom line: I've never recommended anyone as heartily as I would these guys. They made moving 95% less miserable. Which is still miserable because moving is THE WORST, but at a much more tolerable level. read more

Be cautious when considering this company. My experience was disappointing due to their lack of professionalism. They mishandled my belongings, failing to disassemble large items and dragging them across the floor. As a result, my lamp stand was broken!!! and my dining table and desk ended up with multiple scratches!!! And they did not cover any costs and charged me almost double from the agreed price! Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant and stressful moving experience with Tom's. I use a power wheelchair and have to hire top-notch movers to handle EVERYTHING. They were very prompt and professional while winning my contract. They came to the house and provided an estimate and listened to my concerns about having everything put back where I needed so I could function independently in my new residence. They assured me the movers were very experienced - would take photos of things before packing so they could recreated it on the other end. I even agreed to an extra mover so that it would all go smoothly. Unfortunately, during my move neither manager was at work... (the office guy was just off work and never mentioned it in advance - and the mover manager was displaced because of the palisades fires and was dealing with his own emergency) the crew who showed up were not all pro movers - some were helpers or brothers of the crew chief or other movers. Only ONE guy (pro) took photos and he literally DID recreate the cabinets he was responsible for. (A+ for that guy... would hire HIM again, for sure.) The other 2 guys and the crew chief - completely USELESS. They had no plan for unpacking the truck - I informed them about each room... and where to put things. But the entire time all 4 asked me where everything went. However, I couldn't be in 4 rooms at once - so then a BUNCH of things just didn't get done. At the end of the day I was left in a house where I COULDN'T even locate a toothbrush or nightgown. No blankets... nothing. Some friends came to rescue me the next morning - and they were shocked at the chaos that was dumped on me. And even MORE ASTONISHED at the top dollar I had paid for just such a "professional" moving experience. I was so disheartened that I tried to just ask friends to help... but by Monday I called the company and insisted that THIS is not what we agreed to. They sent "there best guy" to come put things in a useable place - and locate my bare necessities. He worked for 4 or 5 hours and it was just OKAY at the end. I still ended up hiring someone to come in and do the level of organization that my home needs to be so that I can direct my helpers to locate things for me. Obviously - I WILL NOT HIRE THEM AGAIN. And it's made me paranoid to hire another "high-end" moving company. I paid a lot of money to "not have to worry about it" - and I still ended up crying far too many tears. I don't think of my disability as a punishment - so it takes a lot to make me feel helpless and regretful about my limitations. read more

I had another moving company scheduled to move my stuff out my apartment on 10/21 for a cross country move and cancelled them that evening as they tried to scam me. My apartment keys had to be turned in the next day so I was extremely stressed as I had to figure out how to vacate my apartment as I wouldn't be able to move everything myself. After my ordeal with the other moving company, I was extremely hesitant to call another moving company but didn't have a choice as time was ticking. I found Tom's Marathon Movers on Google and after reading their reviews, I called them first thing in the morning. Murphy answered shortly after 8am. I explained my situation and he said he could have a crew ready in the afternoon. He asked if I needed storage but I told him that I would find a facility near my apartment to make things easier. They do offer free storage but I declined as I needed a unit with easy access instead of their warehouse facility. His crew of 2 guys showed up at 3:45PM and they absolutely killed it! Danny and David had me completely out and into my storage unit by 7PM. Awesome guys! Super friendly, fast, organized and most importantly, very careful with all of my stuff. Movers and workers are all really great nice people. Really professional and fast. However, the removal of stars is the storage they offer. I was not aware of having to hire the movers if I choose to get my stuff out of their storage. This is required. There is no option to get your buddies together and load up your truck. So if you use their storage expect to pay another 420$ if you decide to get your stuff out of their storage and give at least a 24-48 hour heads up because they pack your stuff in 7x7 wooden crates and need advance notice to get your stuff out. Since I had to use their service I paid 420$ to get my stuff out of the box and it took maybe 10-15 minutes to load up my truck. Pretty lame. This was not made clear to me when I opted to use their storage. Probably some fine print stuff. It really pains me to have to take the stars off because the guys I worked with were all super cool and they did a great job protecting my stuff. read more
