Very Happy with this moving company. Tito and his team, Bruce and Eddie, are amazing. Fast but very careful with every piece of furniture and item they move. I had way too much stuff for a 2 bedroom apartment, and it took a full 26 foot truck. They had to move everything to a house with most items going up 19 flights of stairs. I didn't think it could be done in one day and these guys finished the full move in like 6 hours. Tito's skills at packing the truck to make everything fit is like watching a master Tetris game but in real life. Truly an expert in his job. These guys kept moving fast the whole time. Saved me a lot of money on time. Also got the referral discount. He explained everything to me before they started and advised me what to do to save on time and expenses. These are the best movers I've ever used. My ex used a 3-person Hungarian crew, and then I used the same crew 2 weeks later, and they were amazing. Affordable, on-time, no scamming, no breaking, and hardworking. My only regret is that I wanted to tip them even more than my wallet had - as they moved me in 109 degree heat, without complaint. Worst moving experience in my life. Got the slowest movers. I became the third laborer and worked harder than the two movers I hired. The main mover decided he was going to let me do all the work and casually take his time. This was evident since I moved from a one bedroom apt from downtown LA to Pasadena and it cost me $640. Also I guess I was supposed to receive in writing what the costs are but never did. This was explained to me when the movers showed up. I feel like this was a dishonest business tactic because I couldn't cancel and reschedule another mover since my move was already planned out for a particular weekend. My only form of making things right is ensuring I never refer anyone to use XL movers. read more

I called XL movers Pasadena after my original moving company (which I won't name here) bailed on me 48 hours before the scheduled move. They said they were fully booked and I was double booked by a new sales rep. The crew at XL Movers Pasadena saved my butt in the last minute and came in and basically handled everything, would military style order and efficiency! I was just moving down the street so my move didn't take long at all, but it was something that I definitely didn't want to handle myself. read more

The lady who books the appointments isn't very professional and acts bothers when you ask questions about the services. In my move they broke three of my lamps, were touching items I told them not to move, and didn't seem pleased that they were working. I helped throughout the process too. Never again. They didn't put my bed together like they said in the paperwork, rushed through taking my belongings into the new place and charged way too much. When we got to our new home, we had an issue with fitting my wife's beloved fridge into the house. It almost had to be a garage fridge until Alex figured out by removing the bottom freezer door, the fridge slid right in. My wife was relieved. This company did a great job for what we needed. Yelp Not Always Right So I made a reservation for XL Movers based on the great Yelp reviews but was a little disappointed. First thing, on the website, their "straightforward" pricing for 3 movers is $118, but when I called they said that is the weekday rate, and the weekend rate is $129 cash or $139 credit card. That should be stated on the webpage! So already, it didn't seem as straightforward as promised. They were scheduled to come between 8-9am and we were waiting in the 46 degree garage for them... but ended up calling when no one arrived. They did send 3 guys a little after 10am but we had already been waiting over 2 hours at that point. The person on the phone said they'd make up for it by giving us a 10% discount. That is nothing... so that's $125/hr which is still higher than the weekday rate. Luckily, Tito, a very nice and experienced mover came and was very pleasant. He waived the double travel time and packing material fees which are costs also not stated on the website. They did carefully pack our items and were super nice. One star for the deceptive webpage and management customer service, 5 stars for Tito, Jose and Victor. read more
