My family and I love this place! We come way too often, but that's just because the custard is so delicious and fresh-made, and the employees are attentive and kind! We hope this place continues to get great business -- once you start coming to Andy's, you might well get addicted soon like us! :) read more

Yummy !!!!!! If it's hot or cold outside just do the drive through. No inside seating or restrooms Just can't give more than 3 stars for a walk up window. The food is only half of the review process. Andy's is very good for what it is and probably a kool night time ambience. read more

Ordered a hot fudge sundae with extra hot fudge. We noticed after driving away there were no pecans. The only hot fudge sundae on the menu has pecans. We returned and asked where were the pecans? The somewhat arrogant employee said because we did not say "hot fudge sundae with pecans" it was an extra $1.50. We have NEVER said hot fudge sundae with pecans on the many times we have ordered this sundae. So this is either a scam, bait and switch, Andy's gotcha for getting more $$. read more

While it was 92 degrees at 5 PM on a Friday, we were hot. The jumbo cup of custard ($4.69 + tax) was just right for us. My wife had chocolate and I had vanilla. The sweetness and creamy texture were just right. My wife said that the did not skimp on the chocolate flavoring of her custard. We did not have to wait, we were served at a window promptly. This is a stand, no inside dining. There is a bathroom and it was clean. There is a water cooler that is available. It all went well. read more

Andy's is a classic and has been since I was in college (ahem) years ago. While I'm Springfield I had to stop in for a classic Strawana. Just as tasty as I remembered!!! Their custard is super smooth, bananas are ripe but not soft and the jammy strawberries are perfect. Great. Now I want a strawana and am nowhere near an Andy's! read more

Awesome custard many flavours I recommend the fruit custard. Can't go wrong with Andy's for a dessert we usually make it dinner. read more

Just got back from Missouri and was introduced to Andy's by my in laws. I have had so many versions of blizzards, concrete mixers, shakes and malts I didn't think there was a place that could surprise me in a positive way but I was wrong. Andy's is amazing! When all you do is custard/ ice cream and you do it well people know you as a place that delivers and Andy does deliver. Must try: Any version of Sunday with hot fudge Their mixer with Heath bar and almonds Chocolate or Vanilla Malt For kids their small scopes are perfect. Oh you should sample the difference indeed! I loved the good old fashioned retro look and you drive away smiling because the kids that work there are beaming with sunshine smiles and real hometown caring. Andy's Frozen Custard - Chocolate cone! - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

In my mind, there will never be frozen custard as good as I get when visiting southern New Jersey. We happened across Andy's while passing through town and had to stop. Both got a medium vanilla custard and it was very yummy. Recommend this spot for a cool treat. Traffic backs up as it seems most folks want to drive thru; however, it's quicker to just park and order at the window. read more

Hits the spot on a hot day. Flavors are amazing. Custard back home is good, but this blew it out of the water. If i took a picture it wouldn't look too appealing since its melting. Butter pecan concrete is what i went with. Get some!!! read more

Great local town spot. Tons of options to choose from! Their medium sizes are huge but beyond amazing. I tried their traditional custard "Andy's Ozark turtle" which was amazing, with the warm chocolate and the crunch from the pecans. I mean, this place is a Springfield staple. Doesn't get any better than a Straw Anna.

Always yummy. Always quick, even with a massive line. We make sure to stop in every time we're in Springfield visiting family. AND.... I got to score big time points with my mother-in-law by bringing her favorite. :) read more

Andy's Frozen Custard - Stolen Brownie Sundae - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Springfield, Missouri

Andy offers some heavenly treats in the buckle of the Bible Belt (Spring, MI). At this institution (and first location), I ordered their James Brownie Funky Jackhammer. "Jeahhhhh owwwwwwwww!" In anticipation of my treat, I watched their custardneers--the brilliant and brave men and women working in the back--craft this cold goodness. When my order finally arrived, I perked up with happiness and dug in with my plastic spoon. - Creamy peanut butter? (Yes.) - Brownies? (Yes.) - Hot fudge? (Also, yes.) Where did my abs go that day? Who cares? But, yo, Andy's is the truth, no doubt. Springfield is so lucky to have this place. Other notes: - They also serve splits, floats, and sundaes. - They have a parking lot. - Service is friendly and fast. - It's a walk-up window and drive-through. No seating exists inside. read more

We all know that if you like custard, Andy's is the place to go. But I wanted to praise a specific item from the other night. We tried the eggnog milk shakes as it is that time of the year. We loved the shakes! The eggnog flavor was very pronounced with a nice hint of nutmeg. The texture was also perfectly creamy and you didn't feel like you were trying to suck up sand. My favorite thing about the shake was that it was not overly sweet. I tend to shy away from overly sweet, cloying desserts and found the sugar level of the shake to be just right which did not make me regret finishing the whole thing. I'm kind of happy that we don't have this flavor year round as I might develop a real problem with this shake. read more

This by far is the best custard ive had. Please bring a location near Lebanon. I had the ooey gooey concrete in small. It was delicious! The line was long and drive through as well. The most awesome cold treat in America! I suggest the Ozark Turtle, or the Cookie Casanova when it is on the menu.

Andy's has my heart. They are always consistent in flavor and service. Try the seasonal flavors, they're always worth it.

I can't really tell the difference between frozen custard and ice cream. Regardless, both are yummy and Andy's Frozen Custard is pretty good! I got one of the concretes and it was pretty good. But anything you get there will not disappoint you. The cup was a little sticky though so be careful. Get lots of napkins when you go! I would come back! read more

This stuff is freaking amazing. I don't care how cold it is outside, but it's never too cold for some Andy's Frozen Custard. Growing up down in TX and loving my Blue Bell Ice Cream, I was skeptical of the whole "custard craze" of the northerners I met while in Missouri. But, Andy, you make some damn good Custard! There are lots of options on what you can mix in, I've tried a few different things but in the end it's all about the original custard. Try a few before you settle in on a favorite, it's cheap enough to make it a regular stop around town. Avoid the largest size... trust me... it's too much for one person! Even if you are just passing through as you transgress the old Route 66, this is not to be missed! read more

I felt obliged to write this, but please note that I have not had the chance to have Ted Drews. Yes, I also now live in STL. I should get on this. So - when people try to tell me that their home-town has the best ice-cream, the New England snob in me comes out. Outside of Wisconsin, Massachusetts and the East-coast consumes/produces the most/best ice-cream in the states. I don't even like ice-cream and I have to have this home-made treat. I am also generally a fro-yo type fan. But what? Custard? This is like an in-between New England Ice Cream/Froyo. It's sweet, but not overly sweet. Just get a simple Sunday and when the minor league Cardinal hits a home-run, I think they have dollar sundays if you were at the game. So - I've converted. I think they need to start franchising this stuff back east to give people a run for their money. The lines are generally long, but sooo soo worth it. read more

Oh My, this place has stolen my heart! The ozark turtle sundae is the best dessert I've ever had. We went back 4 times during our stay and even on our way to the airport to fly home. Amazing! James Brownie Funky Jackhammer. So good. Get it! It is concrete with brownie and peanut butter chunks swirled around with a center of hot chocolate fudge in the center. So tasty but definitely bring a friend to help finish it....it is waaaay too big for any normal human being to finish it! Pros: - Tasty and they are super quick with service! - Delicious chocolaty and peanut buttery goodness :D Cons: - I had one huge brownie chunk....just wish that there were bigger chunks in it Why I gave it a 4..... The James Brownie is sooooo good! Everyone needs to just try it once if they are in the area! Just wish that they had somewhere to sit around there. And I wish there were bigger brownie chunks in it too. read more

Yum yum i got the strawberry banana with vanilla and got fudge it was super yummy my hubby got banana split and loved it

Over the past couple of years, I've become a big fan of frozen custard, particularly concretes. So when I saw this place near my hotel (despite it being around -10 degrees outside), I knew I would have to stop by and try it out. I went with my standard concrete mix - M&Ms and coconut (yes, seriously - try it before you knock it). It was ready blazingly fast. I had barely finished ordering it, hadn't even dug out my cash yet, and it was already being handed to me. Not quite sure what to make of a concrete made with such speed. The end result was ok, but not as good as the concretes I've had from other custard places. So decent and edible, but I doubt I'd return here when there are so many other custard places in Missouri to try. read more

I grew up with this establishment, I remember the family sitting on the tailgate taking in the July weather and seeing the lightening bugs all around, it was amazing just to taste the frozen custard specialties, such as the Key Lime concrete, or the the ever classic strawanna. I have grown out of my fondness for chocolate since I was young though and for that I have limitations, unfortunately even since I was young they have never released a strawberry custard or any other flavor of the sort, it's either chocolate or vanilla and a ton of topping options, of course there's other things like root beer or Italian ice, but I do have to go elsewhere for flavors. I still go back there for seasonal concretes like their Key Lime, or pumpkin, and even blackberry. But if they had more flavor options, like strawberry or something else that's still classic then maybe I could rate them higher. But one thing is sure, they still have my heart and my wallet regardless of how clearly out of touch they are. The service is amazing though, very nice people, even had one give me free ice cream cause they knew me. read more

Although it was cold outside, at least to a West Coast kid, like myself, I knew I just had to try it! My girlfriend and I went through the drive-thru and were tempted by so many appetizing treats. It was so difficult to choose, but we ended up choosing: - Small Concrete w/ Health Bars & Butterscotch ($4.89) The custard itself is amazing! Then I got a bite with the Health Bar and custard, and it was the perfect pairing! The Butterscotch was quite good as well. - Small Concrete w/ Strawberry & Cookie Dough ($4.74) My girlfriend ended up choosing this combo. I tried a bite and was amazed that they actually use fresh strawberries! It was fantastic. Tip 1: The small size ended up being more than enough, so don't be tempted by getting a bigger size. Some people might actually benefit by sharing a small size. Tip 2: Since there are no seats inside, just park your car in the many parking spots that are available and eat there. read more
