I've been here before. I don't know why I never reviewed them. They were referred by some friends that have used them before. They were happy with the dry cleaning and alterations. So I tried them. There are other dry cleaners and tailors in the area, but word of mouth is what spurs her establishment. Laura is always gracious and seems to know all her customers by name in no time at all. I dropped off an item that was already pinned and just needed hemming. I explained it was for vacation and needed in one week. I showed up a half hour early and it seemed as if it was buried somewhere, because it took the register person a while to find it. They complained that I was 1/2 hour early and needed to come back in an hour. I couldn't accommodate them. if you are interested in service where the customer matters this would not be an alteration shop I would go to. I have had other items altered here and it is hit or miss whether they are done in time. I find this service to be unreliable and very expensive. read more

I do not recommend going here with any item you care about since it might result in getting stained. I also do not recommend going here if you want to risk being called a liar. I brought my perfectly clean wedding dress (and I have pictures to prove it) to Andrea's to be steamed. When I picked it up, it wasn't steamed enough for my liking so I asked her to re-steam it. The second time, the dress was steamed very nicely, however there were stains on the front that I had to point out. Once I pointed them out, she mentioned another stain on the bottom. She claimed that the company she sends things to to be steamed called her and said there was a stain, but the guy didn't have pictures nor told me there was a stain. When I got home and took a closer look, there was a larger stain on the back (see pictures). I called her and she said that I told her about the stain when I dropped off the dress and that she has a recording of it. She said she would send me the recording and never did...probably because it doesn't exist. If I knew my wedding dress had a stain on it, don't you think I'd ask for it to be cleaned?! Andrea refunded me the money for the steam but didn't have enough time to get the stain out, so I was left with a stained dress on my wedding day. I've been to Andrea one other time prior to this for a hem, and she did a nice job which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. read more

Nice people but they evidently don't know basics of being in business. For the 3rd time in just a few months they were CLOSED WITHOUT NOTICE, or without even a note on the door. This Is no way to run a business especially since they are only open ~4.5 days per week - and with no cleaning done on premises, turn- around time can be as long as 2-3 or 4 days. read more

i have an upcoming wedding that i needed my dress tailored for. my mom called around all morning and spoke with the owner who said she could tailor my dress within the timeframe it was needed. my mom then asked her what time i should be there by and the owner told her to come after 4. my mom let her know that i would be there alittle after five which was fine with her. i had to request to leave work early because i work an hour and fifteen minutes away. when i arrive at 515 instead of the owner having the decency of calling my mom back and letting her know that she left, we arrive to be greeted by her very rude young daughter who repeatedly said "she's not here so it's not getting done" followed by "i understand but there's nothing i can do" it is common courtesy to call someone and let them know when you make an appointment. it was completely unprofessional and needless to say, i will NEVER go back there again. read more

DO NOT GO TO ANDREAS CLEANERS IN FISHKILL, NY! I took 3 pairs of pants to get hemmed to Andreas Cleaners in Fishkill, NY and needed them ready by the next day since I was leaving on a business trip in 2 days and still had to take my pants to the dry cleaner as soon as my pants were hemmed. I asked the person at Andreas if she could hem the pants and have them ready by the next day at 3PM and she said YES and that I could pick them up the next day at 3PM so I would still have time to drop them off at the dry cleaners in time for them to be done for my business trip. To be very clear, the woman did NOT say she would try to get them to me by 3pm the next day. She said she WOULD get them to me by 3pm the next day. However, when I went to pick my pants up the next day, the person at the counter at Andreas Cleaners, (A different person), had no idea where my pants were. She called the person who was supposed to hem my pants but she did not reach her. I then left Andreas Dry Cleaner and received a phone call a bit later from the person who said she would have my pants done and she said she was sorry but would come in at 7am the next morning to do them. I call her numerous times the next morning and she doesn't answer the phone. Finally, I get a call from her at 9:24am and she says the pants were finally ready. They were supposed to done HOURS before. I got in my car and rushed over to Andreas, When I went in to pick up my pants, she said she had a lot going on yesterday. I told her that she shouldn't have said yes if she couldn't hem them on the agreed upon time. She could have said no and I would then have found someone else do hem my pants in the timeframe I needed. The woman at Andreas then charged me full price which was $45 to have 3 pairs of pants hemmed with no regard at all for the huge inconvenience caused by her not doing what she said she would do. When I said something about that, she only took $3 off a $45 order, which is absolutely ridiculous!!! The person at Andreas Cleaners seemed completely clueless as to what a big deal it was that she did not have my pants ready when she said they would be ready. Also, ANY person who understands anything at all about customer service would have offered me more than $3 off for her mistakes. That offering was an insult. I WILL NEVER GO TO ANDREAS CLEANERS AGAIN AS THEY GAVE ME EXTREMELY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I ALSO RECOMMEND EVERYONE ELSE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! read more

Laura is not just an incredible seamstress but she is is a kind and compassionate woman! She is extremely patient with her customers and thourough in her work! She altered my moms dress for my sisters wedding - a dress that was full of detailed beadwork - Laura went the extra mile and hand stitched the bottom of the dress to preserve the original style - a time consuming and delicate process for sure! I ended up in a jam for my dress and last minute had to get a new one and have it altered - Laura didn't think twice! She perfectly altered and adjusted everything I needed done in record time! BEWARE!!!!!! I really wanted to like and use their services. I took a new blouse in to have the sleeves shortened. Was told it would be ready on the following Thursday, a week later. I went in a week later, on Friday and it was not ready. Was told to come back after 3:00 that day, as the alterations person was in that day. Said I would come back the next day, Saturday morning. Came back and it wasn't done. Was told she forgot to give it to the woman who did the alteration, who was there on Friday when I orginally went to pick it up. She apologized, but didn't help as I wanted it for an out of town trip, leaving that Saturday. Don't count on it being ready when they say when you bring it in. This was a small job, but still it should have been ready. There are other alteration places that I will now use. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more
