Through a series of unfortunate events out of my control, I found myself with a new suit that hadn't even been fitted yet. Several other tailors had fallen through, (including the one I originally purchased the suit from). Most wanted two weeks or more to tailor the suit, but in a stroke of luck Nice & Neat was recommended to me. Out of options, I took a long shot on a tailor I knew nothing about. I walked away very impressed. Unfazed by the extreme time constraint, I received outstanding service with a smile from Sokhara. What a sweet lady! She was knowledgeable and offered recommendations on style and fit according to the latest trends. I pride myself on staying well educated on how to perfectly tailor a suit, so I was very pleased that Sokhara also keeps herself well educated in the freshest styles. I knew what I wanted, and most of the time we agreed on the cut, fit and so on. However, she wasn't afraid to politely disagree on certain details. I appreciate her honesty as well as her willingness to listen. Ultimately, she will give the customer what they want, but her opinion is one that should be considered and trusted. Truly an expert. This story has a happy ending too. My suit was finished the next day as promised. There is still a little work to do on the suit, as I decided to limit the number of alterations. The folks here are friendly, accommodating and I have never had anything damaged or stained by them since coming here. If you've been concerned about coming to this cleaners after reading those old reviews, I'd recommend trying them out. DO NOT bring alterations here if you want them done correctly, with any semblance of attention to…read moredetail. My mother brought her dress for my wedding here to be taken in and hemmed. Instead of marking the hem all the way around on her so that it would be level, they marked it only in the front and hemmed it the same amount all the way around. This does not work on three dimensional people! I work with clothes for a living and have never seen anyone hem a dress like this. It's an insane way to go about marking a hem. When she put it back on after they altered it, it was too short in the back and way too short on the sides. They jerked me around the several times I visited them trying to at least get the fabric they had cut off the hem back so that I could repair the dress. Then when my mother came with me and put the dress on to show them (fourth visit dealing with this issue), they refused to admit that there was a problem with the hem, and therefore refused to refund her money. They insisted that they could solve it's being "too short" by lowering the hem all the way around by 1", which would have made it much too long in the front. They would not admit that they had done it incorrectly, just kept insisting that this is how they always hem dresses. Also, since they cut the excess hem out when they altered it and then threw the fabric away, when we let the hem down and re-hem it correctly at home, we will have to piece in some other fabric so that there's enough to turn up for a decent hem, which is needed on this type of skirt. Long story short: Don't give this lady your money or any item of clothing that you care about. She'll refuse to refund your money or take any responsibility for her mistakes. She takes advantage of nice people like my mother who are timid about speaking their mind, and cuts corners that result in shoddily completed work.
