She refused to continue business with me. I went to a seamstress who informed me that the gown was not cut right and couldn't be fixed. I called Bossina Couture and literally begged her to correct her error, she refused. My husband went to the store and offered to pay more for another gown, the owner dismissed him and told him to leave. I paid cash for this gown!!!! This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering the high price of the gown. I expected better customer service and at least the ability to exchange or return an item that was clearly not as ordered. I would not recommend this store to anyone based on my experience. The two issues I did have were that while I was trying on gowns, an older man was walking around the store. I was told he was the owner. I had to be more careful than if the store just had women in it. I also didn't like that the door did not have a buzzer system. A disheveled looking women walked in off the street looking for a lawyers office. A little more security would deter undesirables from walking in and out while women are trying on gowns. All in all, I am very pleased with my purchase.

I met her at her immaculate studio in Fort Green and fell in love with her immediately. She was super sweet, very supportive, but most importantly, very very calm. It was my first time being a bridesmaid in a VERY important wedding (I'm talking million dollar Great Gatsby type wedding, 1,000 guests being held at a private museum in California). I was going to be surrounded by a bunch of people from high school that I hadn't seen in ages, so in a way it was like the high school reunion I never wanted. It was important that I made a good impression. But, not surprisingly, the bridesmaids dress was hideous and fit me awkwardly. I looked like a seal dressed in a pear costume. I needed this fixed, pronto. The problem was I had to alter the dress without it looking like it had been altered. The bride(zilla) had specifically said that she didn't want anyone to change or alter the dress. When I told Sandra this, she was very understanding and dealt with my neurosis very well. What I liked her her also, was that she was very confident. She told me exactly what needed to be done to make the dress fit my body type and complement my curves and height. She assured me she would be stealthy about the alterations and clean everything up seamlessly so no one would ever know I had changed it. Less than two weeks later I went to go pick up the dress. I slipped the dress on almost in slow motion because I was apprehensive about how the dress would look. The wedding was a week away, so if it didnt work out, I wouldnt have much time to fix it. But ALAS, the dress FIT LIKE A GLOVE and I stood there staring at myself in the mirror, amazed that it was the same dress! I couldn't believe it! Somehow she made it so the dress actually looked flattering! I kept asking her over and over how she did it, and she said she changed the waist line, took in some of the weird puffiness out on the sides etc etc. I was totally flabbergasted and so, so grateful. Now I could go to this wedding confident, not having to feel self conscious in a dress that made me look ridiculous. I just came back from the wedding this weekend. It was a beautiful but ridiculous affair (people spraying 200$ bottles of champaign all over the dance floor, fighter jets flying over the ceremony, opera singers, lots of taxidermy). As I hoped, no one expected a thing. I even got compliments on how cute the dress looked on me, which we all know is rare for a bridesmaid dress. So, point is, go to Sandra with you most delicate, prized wedding designs and dresses. This girl is professional and patient. I loved working with her. If I ever decide to get married, I'm going back to her.

I'm pretty sure my 5 month old would want to pick out her own dress when she gets older. My appointment was scheduled for 5/28 at 2pm. I called to see if I could move the time up since my fiancé was going to drive me and he wanted to beat traffic. I spoke to Diane and asked if I could come in for 10am. Keep in mind I didn't know the hours of the place. She automatically said no. There was no explanation but rather a curt no. I asked her why and she told me they don't open until 12pm. It would've been nice if Diane would've led with that. I asked to move the appointment to 12pm and she told me someone took that slot already. Ultimately, my appointment was moved to 1pm. I don't think appointments are honored because there was a group of people there while I was patiently waiting to try on dresses. Automatically Diane gave me a catalog to look at. She turned to the "plus size" section which didn't offer much of a selection. I flipped through the 15 pages or so and I finally found a dress on the last page. I waited 21 mins to be measured by Margaret. She didn't introduce herself but just started measuring me outside the fitting room. Diane then looked at the catalog to see which dress I selected and she told me it doesn't come in my size. I explained to her you don't offer much for curvy women and I was only able to find one dress in the catalog to my liking. Margaret said she can find me similar dresses. I told her that I want a mermaid dress with bling. The first dress I tried on was a no-no. The second dress I instantly fell in love with prior to trying it on. It fit perfectly. Customer service can definitely be improved. Although we were off to a rocky start they redeemed themselves throughout my visits. Ultimately I was blown away with how beautiful I looked with my wedding dress.

I worked with Chrissie to create my dream wedding outfit, and she delivered something that was truly better than I could have imagined. I felt so beautiful and had so much fun wearing it! I got so many compliments from friends and family, and I felt truly like myself. I came to Chrissie with a pretty clear vision of the overall look I wanted to achieve, but with many unresolved details. Chrissie started by creating detailed sketches that pulled together my wishlist into something beautiful and unified. She created a muslin "draft" of the outfit first, and in a session in her studio she built out the garment on my body while we talked through different decisions. She even made the pant legs in two different styles, so I could decide which direction to take! She also pulled fabric samples and found the perfect colors and lace patterns. She even met with me at a fabric store so that we could look at and buy the cloth together. The process of building the outfit in the satin/silk happened across a few sessions, and Chrissie made sure to get every detail just right. Throughout the process, Chrissie was a joy to work with. She made the process so fun and put me at ease. She was always attentive and listened to my questions and ideas, and helped shape my ideas into something beautiful and real.
