They were crowded, as they often are, and I'm I big guy trying not to knock things over, so I stood aside and let my daughter handle the transaction. We also both agreed it was great not giving more money to Jeff Bezos. Shopping local can be a good experience. It was that night. She'll always remember her trip to buy gifts for her friends.

Dr. Mirkin is the first optometrist to ever show me the damage I was causing to my inner eyelids by sleeping with my extended wear contacts. All the other doctors I'd been to in the past simply said don't do it but he actually flipped my lids inside out (sounds more uncomfortable than it is) and showed me the microscopic calluses that formed as a result of REM sleep and frequent use. I did listen and now I'm better :) Their optician Dave is wonderful as well. He really understands what works for you based on your face shape, age and preferences and never tries to give a hard sell. He's also great at repairs and adjustments! And finally there's the staff, Leslie and Eileen. There's nothing like pleasant, friendly service and these ladies always make you feel welcome and that you are valued as a customer and patient. Not sure if it's still running, but they had a promotion that offered free regular eyeglasses and a substantial discount off more expensive designer frames in light of the Hurricane Sandy disaster. What a wonderful way to give back to a community that's trying to rebuild...especially because they suffered damage as well. So glad to have found them on Yelp to give them a review! They gossip while you wait. Turnover is regular. Every time I go there are new people. You can drive there and pay for street parking but there are a lot of police cars sitting and waiting to give you a ticket. Municipal parking and an MTA train station are across the street. Bottomline: Good to get a quick eye exam and prescriptions. Would probably do much better if hired friendly staff and aligned the bed-in-breakfast feel with the client experience. The feel of the place does not match the drive-through experience. There's no relationship building between the service provider and client which makes you feel like you can get the same service anywhere. When I was up there last year for a funeral, I stopped in here and bought a few pre-rolls so I already had an account here. This time, I wanted some pre-rolls, but I wanted some weight to take home. So my goal was to purchase a variety of pre-rolls, see what I like and then come back for an ounce before I leave. Simple enough, right? So I go in and the guy at the door checks me in and brings me to a tablet to explore. I'm 61 years old and technology is not always my friend. I had a hard time navigating. I was barely able to find some pre-rolls that I thought were acceptable. I had no idea how to research if these pre-rolls were available in flower. The pre-rolls I picked out were two 2-packs that were $26 each. I put them in the basket and checked out. When I did that, both products showed as on "special" and had a discounted price of $22.10 I believe it was. The two together with tax was $49.95. I placed the order on the tablet and turned around. There were five people on line and one guy behind the counter. It took a while, but I finally got up to the counter. The guy found my order and rang it up, but now he wants $58 and change. I told him no, my total is supposed to be $49.95, but he couldn't figure it out. Then I asked him if this was available in flower. He looked it up and said no. I felt like I had really just wasted thirty minutes and I ended up walking out empty handed. I told my nephew what happened and he mentioned that a new dispensary had opened near by. I ended up just going there and buying my ounce before I went home. The guy in there did take the time and gave me the level of service that I needed. So this is where it gets interesting. The next day, I left a poor review on Google. Shortly after that, I received a notification that the business had responded. I read the response, and it was mostly apologetic. Ok, that's cool. The owner wants to make it right. So after I got home, I looked up the review and wanted to tell the owner about what happened to me and discuss options. When I looked it up, the owner had edited his reply. Now it said that my complaint made no sense and he accused me of being the owner of the new dispensary, and I was trying to sabotage his business. It's one of the craziest things i have ever seen on a review. Right now, I am trying to figure out how to respond to him, but you should take a look at the Google review to see just how paranoid this owner is.
