I have been shopping in this store for several years now and I have always seen a lot of fashionable choices at reasonable prices especially in comparison to their competition stores in the area (Baila, Baila, Chocolate, and Monami) and Manhattan apparel stores for women. Pretty girl is the only other store in the Bushwick area that is a little bit cheaper and has decent styles. I have purchased many basic shirts from here as well as fun, flirty tops for my nights out. If you are looking for a last minute outfit for a night out with the ladies, a basic shirt for lunch with a friend or everyday wear, come here. I know the owner personally, so I hope he can make this store bigger & comfortable for his customers! Because it's just makes you feel suffocating! Now the reason I took stars away, customer service ! They have an attitude which is bad for customer service . Living in NY city they still aren't able to learn this‍ Back home customer service is way better! So it's not that they don't have great experience shopping! Maybe because they don't have enough space & stuff to help the customers! Whenever you wanna different size or colors their faces changes ! Is it because it's a hassle for them to find stuff ! Who knows it could be! The owner needs to get a bigger space before he starts loosing customers! The family is really good so I want best for them! They definitely need to hire more nicer stuff ! We customers can be irritating sometimes but in USA there is a saying : Customer is always right .....

Later that night I ran into him with mutual friends and inquired. That was the beginning of my friendship with George (S.I.P) and with the store. Upon arrival I was met by this stunning black woman wearing a huge smile and draped in an ensemble of prints and textures. Everything she was wearing were from her store and I wanted all of them- but I couldn't afford it so I bought one piece; the classic Nikki dress in yellow. That summer I wore that dress at least 10 times and every time I did, I'd get a million compliments. Debbie had a sale and ran to get more pieces namely the Audra Kimono and another Nikki dress in print. A year later, Debbie had a stall at BAM Dance Africa and I grabbed a couple more pieces. Folks would pile into the shop everyday to stop and chat with Debbie, purchase signature kimonos, dresses, tunics of the brightest, boldest prints, catch a vibe when the DJ was there on weekends or simply just to hang out. It was that neighborhood spot. We had many friends in common and so it was always fun to spot each other #martinedreaming As the store closes and Debbie transitions to the next leg of her journey; I wish her nothing but the best and know that her and this shop will continue to evoke joy whenever I see someone wearing her pieces and is reminded of how much of gem this post was.
