For my November 2016 wedding, I knew I wanted romantic, "English garden" type flowers. I came across Carol on Yelp and saw that she had done other weddings in this style. After a pleasant in-person meeting, I hired her. I am so glad I did! Her arrangements were absolutely lovely, with beautiful variety. The flowers were lush and there were lots of them - I definitely got my money's worth. Carol is exactly what you want in a wedding florist - artistic, creative, and professional. She took my vision and ran with it, but wasn't shy about sharing her professional opinion - I really appreciated her input. She even had me send her a swatch of the bridesmaids' dress so that she could match the flowers to it. The end result was gorgeous! My only florist advice to future brides is to go with wrist corsages for moms and grandmothers. Carol was one of several florists recommended to me. I know almost nothing about flowers and we didn't a lot of money to spend on them, so this was the one part of planning that I put off as long as possible. After initial consultations and some research, the other florists either had VERY high minimum spend requirements or were located down in San Jose and charged travel fees to SF that would have eaten up much of our very minimal flower budget. Also, I was looking for something a bit non-traditional that would incorporate a lot of seasonal produce (we got married in October; I'm a big produce/foodie/CSA person), which didn't seem to go over well with some of the "white rose wedding" florist types. When I reached out to Carol, she responded very quickly, and had quite a few great ideas that would incorporate the fall colors and produce I had in mind - fall leaves, squashes, gourds, kale, chili peppers, pomegranates, brussels sprouts, artichokes, and purple artichokes. We sat down with her, and she thoroughly covered every aspect of the venue (Julia Morgan Ballroom) that might want decoration, while noting which areas we could skimp on to save some cash. She was clearly very familiar with our venue, and made some suggestions that would work better in the space than the original ideas I had come up with. And just as important for us, the proposal came in within the pricing range we had discussed - and frankly, was less than the proposal from the "very reasonably priced" San Jose florist we originally were leaning towards. We met again with her about a month before the wedding to finalize everything, and she had given us leeway to add to or subtract from the initial proposal (amazing for my piece of mind given how easy it is to go over-budget on wedding-related services). We gave her a lot of freedom to use whatever produce she could find that worked with the general fall scheme (it was mid-September, but almost no fall produce was out at the time we last met pre-wedding), and it turned out amazing. I've uploaded photos for reference, but everything was spectacular - from the purple and green artichokes + firey calla lilies in my bouquet to gorgeous centerpieces incorporating the fall produce. I could not be more pleased with the end product, nor with the very responsive service we received throughout the entire process. I have recommended her personally to a few friends who recently got engaged, and would highly recommend her to anyone else looking for more traditional floral arrangements (she has many examples in her books) or something a bit more outside the box like we asked for. read more

As soon as I met Carol, I knew she was the one for me. She is very relaxed and down-to-earth, but her flowers looks like someone's who is a stickler for details!! We could not be happier with her work on our wedding flowers; people were actually fighting over who was taking centerpieces home! I was extremely vague in my directions, and yet she just talked to me until she had an idea of the aesthetic I wanted and took it from there. All I said was, no bright colors, nothing "tall" and a "natural" look; she created absolutely gorgeous pieces of art using texture and shape, white and green, fresh flowers and succulents, the holders covered in bark. I'm sorry to say that I was pretty close to getting Costco wedding flowers for my 9/2/11 Wedding at the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Luckily, my strong desire for stargazers with blue accent flowers, and help from Linda at the JMB, sent me on a course to look into professional floral arrangements. Working with Carol was one of the best decisions I made, and I truly loved every aspect of my wedding. Before I go into anymore detail, my bouquet of flowers is still the screensaver on my phone. After my initial email with Carol, I was able to meet her in-person as she was setting up floral arrangements for another wedding. I could see and smell everything first hand - Amazing! Next, my husband and I went to Carol's house and showed her examples of flowers and color palettes we liked. I really wanted blue flowers in the wedding and she was able to incorporate natural blue flowers, plus blue roses and orchids into the bouquets and reception floral arrangements. I could not have been happier with the results. I didn't have to worry about any of the setup either as she was able to do everything. Carol had great ideas about reusing flowers at different points of the event as well. We took the church altar flowers and placed them on pedestals next to the cake. She also had vases on the head table where all of the bridesmaids could put their bouquets. Make sure you look at and utilize Carol's candelabras. These are just so gorgeous and look wonderful in the Julia Morgan Ballroom. Definitely look into Carol and an Added Touch of Flowers for your wedding or floral arrangement needs. I found Carol's work through Yelp when I was looking for someone to do the flower arrangements for my wedding at the Julia Morgan Ballroom this past October. I've seen her work on various other wedding websites, and found that her style was exactly what I was looking for in terms of my vision for the floral design for our wedding. From the beginning, Carol was incredibly prompt and courteous in all of our communications (mainly through email), and when we finally did our in-person consultation, was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the design process - making suggestions and paying very careful attention to the various inspiration colorboards and photos that I had prepared.
