Nicole and Black Lockett is seriously the best florist in the business. She was so amazing to work with and extremely creative! Going into this wedding, I didn't have an exact vision of what we wanted, or color schemes. I couldn't really find pictures on the internet that I was say "this is exactly what I wanted". Nicole somehow were able to pull our vision together based on description of how we wanted the space to feel. We wanted warm, incorporation of local and seasonal wild flowers, an inviting space, lots of greenery to brighten up the empty space. I had also bought amber votive holders and these table runners that I wanted to incorporate into our wedding, but these were things we liked but not wedded to. Nicole asked us a few questions, took what we wanted to incorporate, and created our dream floral arrangement for both our ceremony and reception. The ceremony location was a last-minute change and she was able to accommodate so seamlessly. Working with her was so fun and seamless, and I knew I could trust her completely in whatever she came up with for our big day. She even went above and beyond to stop by our place to pick up the pieces we wanted to incorporate so she can take it back and thing about the flowers and colors to tie all the different components together. TDLR: Hire her for any events, big or small! She's amazing, creative, artistic, and so fun to work with. She also taught us so much about different types of flowers and foliages as well! Her designs truly made our ceremony and reception. It embodied us as people and the vision we didn't know we wanted. She really went above and beyond for our wedding and we call ourselves lucky to have her as our florist for our wedding day. Even if you don't hire her for your wedding, you should visit her shop in Bernal Heights and get some flowers for your space. The flowers there are flowers you really don't see any other shops. I provided a target price, and then gave the context for my gift, and the kind of tone I wanted to set. THEY DELIVERED! The bouquet will last along time as it has blooms on wooded branches, not just stems. They included many tiny flowers and accents that are not common in other bouquets, and the entire thing was really expertly compiled! The shop owner Nicole is absolutely amazing and was so thoughtful and meticulous in putting together our elopement florals. We worked with the owner Nicole for our wedding in August 2021 and she went above and beyond in creating florals and decorating our arbor. We found her prices very reasonable, she accommodated our requests (to add succulents and drape fabric on the arbor), and communication was easy. I'm not even sure where to begin with this review. Every bit of working with Nicole was so wonderful. I stumbled upon Black Lockett walking down Cortland a month before my wedding (the shop itself is so cute), and I popped in out of curiosity--I was still in search of someone to do our bouquets. Nicole was so warm and easy to talk to and listened intently to my rambling on about what I was going for (I felt like I was a bit all over the place, but she got it immediately). She put me and my grandmother both at ease (she worked separately with my grandmother on boutonniéres), and after meeting her, I knew I had nothing else to worry about when it came to flowers. Nicole made my wedding bouquet, my husband's boutonnière, bridesmaid bouquets and groomsmen/ring bearer/fathers' boutonniéres. When our friend arrived with everything on our wedding day, I was at a loss for words. My bouquet was beyond what I could have dreamed up in my head in so many ways. Nicole paid so much attention and care to the colors, the structure of the bouquet, the flowers themselves (so many interesting ones I'd never seen before! I kept finding new ones to ogle at!) and the SMELL! I didn't even realize how good the peony and garden rose smelled until the day after when I feel like I really got to take the whole thing in.
