i love getting pampered at amy's nails! they are the best in west seattle, thats for sure! they do happy hour m-th from 12-3. they are usually very busy during this time, so try to call ahead and make rsvp. i dont know why i bother trying to squeeze into happy hour... i always do the deluxe pedicure ($40) and either a regular manicure or a shellac manicure. the ladies are usually very nice to the customers. i am vietnamese and i can definitely understand EVERYTHING that the ladies are saying to eachtoher. somethings are unsavory... but it doesnt bother me, and what the customers dont understand wont hurt them... right? lol. but they are always so nice and make you feel so welcomed. i've gotten my services done here from time to time and i prefer it over the other nail salons in the area. love it. i recommend to everyone! oh! i almost forgot! i somehow got my boyfriend to get a mani/pedi with me too! it was his first experience getting a pedicure... he felt uncomfortable because he is not used to people touching his feet and scrubbing, etc. he enjoyed it though at the end lol. read more

I've been to Amy's Nails twice now, and look forward to going back again and again (note: I don't even live in the area!). There are a variety of nail salons in Seattle, but this salon is nice and the prices are great. The women who work here are also very friendly, and I haven't had a bad experience with any of them. In search of mani-pedis for three of us, we opted for Amy's, which is south of the Alaska Junction in West Seattle. I'm a regular at Regina Nails, so I kind of felt like I was cheating on Rose, but we needed to get worked on simultaneously. We were seated immediately, two of us getting pedicures and the third getting Shellac. I've never been to a place where they line the foot tubs with a rigid plastic liner. Couldn't tell if it is something that's fresh out of a package or washed and used over and over. Why not just scrub the actual tub? After bubbling around for awhile, my person started on me. My friend, however, was turning prune-like and had to wait an additional 15 minutes before they started on him. I also got Shellac for my nails and was able to choose from a whole string of colors. They didn't have the Shellac brand per se, but rather some other brands. I liked how they wrapped the foils on your fingertips tightly and efficiently and my color lasted two weeks. Their little finger cooker was pretty fancy and it seemed like a shorter drying time than normal. There wasn't anything super terrific or super bad about the place and it's nice to have an alternate nail place in the neighborhood if Regina's is closed for vacation. read more

Best nail salon I have been to in years. I tried this place out with a girlfriend of mine who lives in Queen Anne, and this is now her favorite local as well. Every mani-pedi comes with a little hot stone massage. I like to get a regular pedicure and a gel mani, it comes out to about $48.00 before tip. The gel mani lasted me over 3 weeks, and that was with washing dishes, beach sand, and a lot of heavy handed activity. Can't wait to go back. Review based on many visits- uneven service, depends a lot on who your provider is. Kim is good, NiNi is just awful. I sent a friend in today, couldn't remember name of who to avoid, naturally she got NiNi (won't forget again), left with a mani pedi and went straight to another place to have them redone. I have been here one other time. I'd say my first experience was average. I guess it's true what they say you get what you pay for. Stopped in for a walk in. Even though they weren't busy & half the technicians were loafing around oblivious to customers...they said they could take me for a pedicure. Instantly they were rushing me along, cackling in Vietnamese when one technician at the spa chair said, "do you have appointment? Well, hurry up cause you wasting my time." I was pretty flabbergasted they'd treat customers so rudely especially in front of other customers! Talk about an unpleasant experience! Needless to say, I walked right out. I arrived at 6:30 for a pedi. Was greeted with awkwardness. Perhaps they were hoping to close early? The place was empty. My tech did not make any conversation but when a call came in on her cell, she held it with her shoulder while exfoliating my feet one-handed then stepped a few feet away to chat more intimately with the caller. The call lasted at least 5 min. The polish turned out alright but the cuticle-line on one big toe was crooked and she missed a spot on a baby toe and my skin had polish stains on it . I asked her to fix these issues, starting with the polish stains on my feet. Begrudgingly she did this. As for my baby toe issue, she said, "That tiny little spot!?" To which I answered "Yes, please. " As for the crooked cuticle line she said, "That's your skin." Hmmmmm. It turned out 3 other employees were still in the shop, each stopping by to look at my feet, none offering suggestions to my bewildered tech. I was not rude. I didn't ask her to repaint the entire nail, though it was the obvious solution. At this point, I just gave up. She asked me to pay so I did. I went to the dryer. As she brought my credit card slip to me she asked the first question since the pedi began:you have kids? As if this was her "read" on why a tired customer would enter the shop and want completely painted nails. I will never return to Amy's. I believe the owner was in the store and was aware of everything. I should feel bad for a person who detests her job so much but mostly I just wondered why I picked this day to forego Nail Time and try Amy's. So far, Nail Time is the only place to get consistent good service in West Seattle. read more

I treated myself to a birthday manicure/pedicure and had a wonderful experience here. I got in at around 2:55 (happy hour goes until 3) and they still gave me the happy hour price ($26 for both!) and they did a beautiful job. Make an appointment if you are coming in during happy hour because when I stopped in nearly all the chairs were full. Very clean, wonderful customer service, and with C&P across the street it makes for a pretty perfect afternoon. read more

Walked in and was shown to a chair immediately, great color choices and friendly people. My manicurist was Deena, and she was sweet and did a great job. I have been loyal to Amy's Nails since I've been in Seattle for 1.5 yrs. The past 3 months, the product and customer services has changed. I spend a lot of $$ getting the spa pedi $40 and shellac $35 manicure every 2 weeks + waxing. Kim, NaNa and Dexter are wonderful. I can't say the same about the rest of the staff. Amy's Nails allows new employees to work on you without asking if you want a new person working you. The new person isn't as skilled as the others, it makes me angry. Also, they speak in the language about you and the staff will look and laugh. This is unacceptable! For these reasons, I'm finding a new salon. As much as I hate to leave Kim and Amy's nails, I don't feel comfortable any longer. read more

Phong and her crew are the absolute best in the Seattle metro area. I live in Renton and work in Bellevue and haven't found anyone as good as her and this shop. I am allergic to acrylic nails so I have to get silk wraps done. Phong is the BEST!!! She always does an amazing job and knows how I like them shaped. Pedis here are also top notch! They are happy and don't rush - which I truly appreciate. Tools are all cured in the sanitizing oven and the place is clean and tidy. Great eyebrow waxing/shaping too. I have been going to Amy's nails since they opened and they do a wonderful job. They spend a nice amount of time with every customer. The pedicures are very relaxing and everything is kept clean and sanitary. The ladies there are all very nice and have a great sense of humor. This is a busy little shop where they don't rush their customers so don't expect to be able to get a walk in appointment, especially if it's during happy hour. If you call ahead to make an appointment you won't regret it. This is a guy friendly shop. My husband often comes in with me for a pedicure. read more

I went to Amy's 3 times for a fill and saw a different manicurist each time. I'm new to the area and trying to find my go-to salon and manicurist. The first time I went, I saw Phong. She did a good job and was gentle, but the acrylic was a little thick. The second time I went it was also ok, but nothing great. I can't remember who I saw that time. The third time was terrible. I think the lady's name was Deena. She cut my cuticles in three spots and two days after getting my nails done, one of them broke. I went back and she fixed the nail for free but sent me away long before the nail polish was dry. Two days later two more nails broke. I wasn't doing anything unusual to them but they appear to be very brittle for some reason. I'm looking for a new salon. If someone wants to try Amy's, I'd recommend making an appt with Phong. I may go back to see her but I'm not super impressed by my other experiences there. read more

Hands down favorite place in West Seattle. I get my nails done every 2 weeks like clockwork, and their manicures last and are well done. In addition, they are fast and reasonably priced. They treat my girls (12 year olds) who come with me just as well as they treat me. Good people. read more

Came in for a pedicure on the day before my due date and was greeted by cold water and snipped-to-point-of-bleeding cuticle (ouch!) with no apology. Tech also spent 1/2 the time coughing, mostly on my feet. Gross. Won't be back. read more

It is really clean, has a great selection of polish, and the staff was really friendly. It has been a week since getting the pedicure and my toes still look perfect. I was traveling and staying in West Seattle. I was 10 minutes away from this salon and called and asked if they could take me if I arrived in 10 minutes. I needed a manicure. I was told yes. I got there and waited about 10-15 minutes. Overall I did not feel that the salon was very clean. The manicurist that did my nails did a decent job but I knew it was not going to last long. After applying oil and cream to my hands and nails, she did not thoroughly clean my nails with acetone before applying the nail polish. So there was probably still cream and oil on my nails which needs to be completed removed prior to applying the polish. It's only been 3 days since I got the manicure and it's already starting to chip. The cost was $12 for the manicure which is reasonable. I don't think I would go back. read more

If anyone is wondering where Phong from Tulip's went. this is her new shop. It's a great place and you get a lot more for your buck here. The spa pedicure is the same price as Tulip's but you get a nice scrub, hot compress in addition to the leg massage. She has liners in the whirlpool and the chairs are nice and new. My pedicure looks great and I love her new shop. Go see Phong, you won't be disappointed! read more
