I warmed them up at home and when I took a bite into the buttery flaky crust, I was hooked. These were so delicious I instantly regretted not getting more things to try. I also had a hot chai with homemade vanilla syrup which was fragrant, sweet, and spicy at the same time - it was so good. The person behind the counter let me know that their menu changes weekly based on the what ingredients are in season and available. Another customer told me that everything is good and that I couldn't go wrong with whatever I selected. The items they sell are on the pricy side but absolutely worth it because of the quality ingredients they use in their baked goods. One bite and you can taste the difference. I'm looking forward to returning.

I like how most of their sweets have a nice crunch to it, but it's still moiste on the inside. I got a strawberry strudel today with fresh strawberries, soft-flaky center and what tasted like buttercream. I would highly recommend their pastry, but the coffee did fall flat to me. I've only had it once and it didn't do anything for me. We have so many good coffee shops in the neighborhood and never thought of coming back here for coffee. I will try their coffee again since it's been a while. The store is rather small, but it isn't intended on a dine in experience. I do like that you can see the chef in the back along with his partner in the front of the store. They are very nice people and super friendly. They have a beautiful display of all their pastry and baked goods as you order, so it was hard to only order one item. They serve Jerusalem bagels but no standard bagel options or anything (but I wish they did). Baked goods are great, but there's limited options if you're trying to go for something with protein or less sugar. The chai latte was very sweet but I liked! The knish was huge and tasted as expected. The outer crust was thick, so it tasted dry at points but overall, it was fun to try.

The knish was my favorite thing that we ordered. It tasted like a veggie - mashed potato pie. It was creamy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I had this around 10AM and passed on lunch because I was so stuffed. I would rate this cafe a 4 star if it was only for the food, unfortunately the coffee wasn't good. The coffee tasted really watered down and lacked a bold coffee flavor. It was as if we ordered oat milk with a splash of coffee. They definitely have to reevaluate their proportions. My wife's latte tasted just as watered down and she tossed it out. I, on the otherhand drank it, even though it wasn't pleasant because I don't like to waste. This left me wondering if everyone in the shop makes coffee beverages the same way or whether it was just one employee. I'm not sure...and don't think I'll be coming back for any drinks. The café itself was really beautifully decorated and had an open seating arrangement with most of the chairs facing the windows. The staff were nice, but not as friendly as you'd expect for folks on the east side. I'd go for the food, but not for the coffee. -ODL Connect with me! IG & YouTube: @AOEAT

The plain croissants were perfectly fluffy and flaky. The almond square was pure heaven with a deep almond flavored frangipane surrounded by crunchy layers. The bakery itself is really cute. I found the shop tucked away in my old stomping grounds, and when my GPS announced I had arrived, I was pleasantly surprised to see it now occupies what used to be a beloved old Italian bakery. There's a small parking lot right next to the well-marked entrance, and their adorable bespectacled cupcake logo makes for a charming first impression. Inside, the space is a nostalgic dream for fans of all things pop culture. The décor spans across countless beloved universes--Marvel, Star Wars, Disney, Harry Potter, Pokémon, Mario, and more. Familiar faces like Batman, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk line the walls and shelves, giving the whole place a fun and immersive vibe. But let's talk about the real stars: the baked goods. The display at the entrance is packed with eye-catching treats--cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and beyond. Everything looked just as mouthwatering in person as it did in the photos that initially drew me in. In addition to desserts, they also offer cannoli, cinnamon rolls, brownies, breakfast wraps, sandwiches, bagels, toasts, bowls, and a variety of drinks including coffee, smoothies, and iced options. Since I was there for cupcakes, I picked out three flavors: Mocha Cappuccino, Banana Pudding, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana. I only got to try the two banana ones, but both were delicious. The Mocha one smelled heavenly though! A surprise bonus--the cupcakes had fillings, which I wasn't expecting. The frosting-to-cake ratio was perfect, and the cake itself was light and fluffy, yet sturdy enough to hold up the frosting. The owner was super helpful in guiding my selections and genuinely lit up when I asked about the bakery's background and theme. They host themed events too--like an upcoming Star Wars Day breakfast with a buffet, character meet-and-greets, goodie bags, and more. I don't live in the area anymore, so coming back would be a special treat--but I definitely plan to. Getting out of the parking lot was a bit tricky due to the busy nearby intersection, but it wasn't too hard to navigate. A small inconvenience considering everything this place has to offer. Bottom line: this bakery is a delightful, nerdy, sugar-filled gem. A perfect place to treat yourself!

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

It feels like her place in the best way -- warm, proud, hands-on. Pastries are legit. Super buttery, flaky enough to make a mess, clearly baked that morning. No sad, sitting-around-all-day vibes. Ordered the breakfast sandwich and that tomato jam needs to be illegal. Sweet, savory, slightly tangy -- it completely makes the sandwich. I kept trying to figure out how to recreate it at home. Not happening. Crispy chicken sandwich was properly seasoned and not dried out (why is that so hard for some places?). Fries were solid too -- crispy, not limp. And the kale salad with roasted chickpeas and chicken made me feel like I had my life together. Fresh, simple, and actually satisfying. It's one of those places you stumble into while traveling and then immediately start googling whether you can justify going back the next day.
