My experience here was a mixed bag. This is what I thought about Amuse. Parking- a bit confusing? When I pulled in, there were valet attendants standing around waiting for potential customers. There were no signs of valet parking. I asked the attendant if I could self park. He was a bit hesitant. Then he told me it was ok to pull into a stall. My question is? Is it only valet? Or, both? Atmosphere-clean, modern and hip. There are automated wine stations set up around the area. The wine stations are self serve.There is a bar and bartender that sells other alcoholic beverages for those who don't enjoy wine. If you choose to drink wine, you need to purchase a wine card from the bar. They will also give you a wine glass, too. They had a special on Saturday night. The special was...you purchase a wine card for $30.00 but you receive $50.00 worth. What a deal! You get an extra $20.00. I love the fact that you can go around the wine stations and get a sample of different wines. You don't have to get a full glass. Here's what you need to do. You find the wine that you want to try, you stick the wine card into the machine. You place your wine glass under the spicket. You press a button and it pours out a little sample. Maybe, about an ounce or so. It is really fun. My colleagues and I had a lot of fun trying different wines. We all hung out by the whites and blush wine stations. Amuse has a limited amount of whites and blushes. There were more red stations. I wish they offered more blushes. Service- not so good. We weren't greeted right away. Throughout our visit, we were forgotten and not checked on. They need to work on this. Disappointed. Also, they ran out of the last blush of the evening. It's a wine bar, how can you run out? They have a huge glass wine cellar! Don't they have more for ? Food- very good and reasonable. These are a MUST: Grilled cheese sandwiches: made with havarti cheese and truffle oil. So, good and so different. I already want more. Eggplant Parmesan-generous portion. It was very good and hearty. Salmon gravlax- generous portion. It was refreshing and light. Shrimp and pesto pizza- portion was ok. The combination of the flavors of the ingredients were perfect together. Other food we ordered: Fish tacos and boneless oriental buffalo wings All in all, I had a nice time at Amuse. The atmosphere, the food and the wine was good. Will return soon. Great place to celebrate a birthday. The ambiance is beautiful, take a date, throw a get together, have a few, or have a party either way your day/night will be perfect here. First off Saturdays have an awesome deal, buy a $30 card and get $50 placed for wine. Who could turn this down? We arrived at 7pm were able to get seating on the loungers "outside," its not really ouside but your view is of Kapiolani blvd and slightly away from the commotion of live music and peope getting drinks. I wish I could remember our servers name, but she definitely added amazing service. With a party of 7 she was quick and very attentive to our waters and food. She made sure everyone had what they needed at all times. The food was so tasty and perfect portions. We ordered 3 kimchee grilled cheese, avacado toast, adobo, ahi, cheese platter, cauliflower, and truffle fries. No dish was a disappointment. To help celebrate my birthday they brought out what seemed to be a banana cream pie. It was amazing and beautifully plated. The little touches always make the biggest impact. I went here on a date and it was fabulous. We had a hard time finding it at first. It's on the second floor of what looks like a high-end furniture store. I thoroughly enjoyed that part as I love home design so that was added fun to the date to look at the couches, lamps, etc. When we eventually found the wine bar, we were sat right away and greeted by our waitress. Perfect sized tables, nice ambient lighting, and comfortable chairs. We came for wine but stayed for dinner so we moved to the restaurant attached to it. We had the garlic loaf as an appetizer and I ordered the butterfish for dinner. I would recommend. I also got a wine flight and a cocktail. Overall, great experience. The waitress was attentive and sweet. The food presented well, perfect portion size, and was delicious. I would come back for another date or girls night. I remember when Amuse first opened, it was like the most amazing thing. Wines on tap, drink and sample as much as your little heart desires?!? I haven't been there for ages but my girlfriend loves wine so I thought what the heck. My other friend was like they have good food and cocktails. I trusted him even tho he's not an elite. HAPPY HOUR: Tuesday to Saturday  (5pm-6pm). During this time you can purchase a $50 wine card for $30. Wine ranges from $2.25 - $6 for 3-4 sips so it's pretty expensive (these are just the spouts in the middle). We ordered: *  Patatas Bravas (3 stars) - HH $5 - This was our favorite. The sauce is a bit spicy but manageable for me. Hardly any tobiko but flavors were ok. * Roast pork kiwale (2 stars) - HH $10 - It was edible in parts. The skin was extremely hard.. as in break my teeth hard. The pieces were also rather large and difficult to eat. * Yukari spiced Calamari (1 stars) - HH $9 - Rubbery, underseasoned, and even sauce on the side was bland. We hardly touched it tbh. Went here once late night with coworkers and another for a bridal shower. I enjoyed the live music and funky decor. They also have a wide variety of wines to choose from. Food was okay but at the party they wouldn't give us any containers to bring the leftover food home in and service was slow. Some staff were friendly while others seemed like they were just trying to get through their shift. When we went on a Saturday there was happy hour from 5-6pm with 50% off wine pours. We ordered grilled cheese, Calamari, garlic fries, soy beans, escargot, this pork thing and a fruit platter thing with grapes, crackers and this puff pastry thing with pineapple filling. Almost everything was delicious...we weren't too fond of that pineapple filled puff pastry thingy (sorry I can't remember what it was called). I didn't eat the escargot, but my boyfriend did. He said he liked it and would eat it again. Drinks: I refilled my wine card since we came for happy hour. $50 worth for $30 bucks - DEAL! Hawaii doesn't have much places with a wide variety of wine so the Amuse Wine Bar is perfect for Hawaii wine lovers. The restaurant is located upstairs in the Inspiration building along Kapiolani Blvd. They have a great assortment of wines - red, white, desserts, all the like. Actually, I'm not an avid wine drinker but I just love coming here. Amuse Wine Bar has great dessert wines that I love and can't stop getting enough of them. But in addition to their variety of good wines, the restaurant has a ton of foods to eat on their menu and everything just tastes amazing! I love their arroz caldo with pork belly and their hamachi sushi with shoyu jelly. Everything that I've tried here (and I think I tried pretty much the whole menu) is absolutely delicious, even their desserts. To add on to the good wine and good food, the live music makes the atmosphere so much more amazing. I love coming here, especially since the typical bar scene gets a little old as you get a little old. Hope you enjoy this place just as much as I do! read more

This is the first time in a while that I have come back to Amuse. Due to Covid they do not allow you to use the wine tasting samplers (basically it was a DnBs for wine lol). If you do have Amuse cards (mine were pretty old oops), they can check the balance and you can apply them to any wine purchases. The do have a series of wine flights available in addition to glasses. Tables were well spaced out. Food selection is limited to just appetizers. Happy hour was till 6pm but there were only hush puppies on the happy hour food menu @ $15, few wines were available at $7/glass, and a watermelon cocktail and Miller special. Hush puppies were yummy tho! We also ordered the mushroom pizza, sliders and house salad. Service was a little slow but they were training new staff and our group wasn't in a rush. I came here when they first opened and it was such a novelty to buy wine from the individual dispensers. Over a decade later, it's still a fun experience! Service and food are consistently good. If anything, the service gets better every time I come back! The food menu changes and I like the variety. Happy hour specials are awesome, with 50% off wines. I liked it better when you put money on the card, and they gave a percentage as a bonus, then happy hour lasted all night! Now, the prices at the dispensers are 50% off before 6pm. I've been a patron of Amuse more times than I can count and I've always left a happy customer. This is a fun, interactive experience for wine lovers - there are 4 stations with about 20 bottles of wines each where you pay per 1oz serving to taste and hopefully find a favorite. This method definitely makes for one expensive glass of wine but I figure you are paying for the ambiance, experience and fun of it. To make things a bit more affordable, I'd advise you visit on WEDNESDAY and pre-purchase your wine card - for $30, you'll get a $50 wine card to use at the machines. Another money saving tip - visit during their Happy Hours - Tuesday - Fridays to get great pupus at decent prices. We usually visit during non-happy hours though but have still been pretty happy with all of the food we've ordered. Their plates are definitely put together perfectly for sharing. My favorites are the sliders and crispy french fries! Recently, there was an off-menu special: fish & chips, which were great - so I'd advise asking your server for any special items. Came here for date night and were lucky enough to hit happy hour. It is a great deal...50% off all wines. Perfect place for tasting. They had happy hour menu items, along with a regular appetizer menu. We ordered the Brie cheese with honey, steak tacos and calamari. None of the servings were huge but for 2 of us, the 3 appetizers were just right to share portion wise. I think the food was good, not amazing. The true deal here is with the wine. This is a really good place to go if you want to hang out with friends and chill. It is part of the Inspiration building on the 2nd floor. It's so convenient because parking is free and there usually are a lot of spaces open. Get your parking ticket validated just in case the gate is still down when you leave. Usually when I leave, I stay so long that the gate is already up when I leave the building. Sometimes during busy nights they have free valet service. Don't forget to tip them though. They have changed the Happy Hour menu quite a bit since last year. They got rid of the specialty cocktails on the Happy Hour menu. It used to be $5 for most of their specialty cocktails from 5pm-7pm. I wish they still had it because i loved their Orange Dreamsicle cocktail! SOOOO BUMMED. Since they don't offer the specialty cocktails for Happy Hour, I chose one of the two beers they had on $4 special. They also have a board with other drink specials that change daily behind the bar. Ordered food off of the $5 Happy Hour menu and got the Mini Grilled cheese (comes with 3 pieces), Stage BBQ Fries, Hummus Crostini (4 pieces), and Button Mushrooms. All of which I enjoyed. $5 is quite a deal! On Wednesdays they offer the $50 wine cards for $28. Really good deal if you are planning on trying their wine selection in the center of the venue. It's happy hour and time for some wine!! My awesome work crew decided to have an impromptu happy hour here. Located outside of Stage restaurant is this cool wine bar!!The Happy hour special is $30.00 for a $50.00 wine credit on your wine card. They also have wine, drinks and happy hour pupus. Not keen on wine, not to fear as they have a full bar as well. Being a wine lover, I think I have found my heaven! The set up: There are three stations with red wine options and one station with white wine. The wines are are priced differently and one sample size will give you one ounce of wine. I enjoyed being able to sample all of the different types of wines! In addition we indulged in their happy hour pupus ! Loved the edamame, truffle fries and cheese plate. I had an AMUSEing Wine of a time here thursday night, the pay $25 to the bartender and receive $50 in wine bucks on your wine card is a sweet deal. We dined in Stage where I did order bottles of wine, and the poor waiter had to pick the grapes and harvest it himself. So the sweet hostess let my drunkard friends and I in and out, like a revolving door, to fill up our 1 oz wine pours in our glasses about 27 times. Oh & finally our bottle made it's way to our dinner table. I made that $50 card last, especially when I found the .69 deals. Oh my chinese nosed sniffed those deals out quick. Word to the wise, go for the Opus first, then sniff out the reject wines later, you won't taste the difference and the whole point is to get shit faced anyway right? Came here on a Wednesday night. Slightly crowded but no prob finding open tables in the back room. They even have couches in there to sit on. On Wednesdays, they have a wine card special, $50 for $30, or $50 for $28 if you already have a card to reload. Such a great deal! We ordered the Pono Pork Belly Adobo, which is delicious, and the Roasted Cauliflower, which is good too! The adobo is over some rice with a lot of flavor. The pork belly is so soft. Love this place. The Wine Bar idea is "amusing" as well as their prices. Amuse is located upstairs of the Honolulu Design center. Parking is free. It just seems so odd to go through a furniture store to get to a restaurant and Wine bar. It's a good quick stop before your reservations at Stage restaurant, they have a cool sitting area and long high tables overlooking the wines, and you can order food as well...but don't stay too long, or you won't have any cash left for dinner. The concept is fun and interesting, you can try out various types of wines, that can cost from $8-80 a bottle without having to buy the whole bottle. You load a card up (like Dave and Busters) and away you go! It's self-serving, and wines are divided by varietals. You pay for "pours" which is about 2-4 oz that can cost from 1.99 to 19.99 a pour!! We loved it here! Came with a group of work friends for happy hour(5-6pm) we sat on the couches by the bar which were super cute. Our bartender was fantastic and he took the time to explain how everything works. They have an awesome selection of wine on tap and it's a super fun experience. We were blown away with how yummy the food was. They had an ahi special that was to die for, it was sliced ahi sashimi with a sauce over it, needless to say we ordered 3 of these. Wow! What a fun event and a cool place to meet (and Amuse) new friends! I want to thank my friend Santi for inviting me and for exposing me to Yelp. Amuse is a nice wine bar that has a sexy atmosphere and date-night lighting. The layout is designed to encourage mingling which is great if you're looking to meet new friends. Wednesday evening (5-8pm) gives you more BANG for your BUCK! (Pay $28 and get $50 on your card) The cost per ounce is a little steep so this helps offset the pain (at least in my mind). The wine selection is fair but last night there were several "off" and no one was replacing the bottles. I've been to Amuse before and not had this happen, so I'm hoping this was just a fluke. Oh! They also have live music on Wednesday night. The musician does a fantastic job and plays a lot of songs you'll know by heart. The happy hour pupus are tasty and inexpensive; I especially like the grilled cheese! I brought my Mom while she was visiting and she doesn't drink wine...so, even though I've not tried them, I've been given the OK to endorse their cocktails.
