The bar was empty when I decided to venture in here. There were a few men at a table and a wonderful bartender. I was only here for two drinks on a tues mid afternoon so I wasn't looking for a rager. Well, let me try to explain: 1) The owner Bernadette (I think that is her name) is customer oriented and she makes sure all of her patrons are comfortable and serviced. 2) The price is right! No frills bar with spirits, wine and beer all at the decent price of REASONABLE! 3) The establishment is clean. I look at the establishment, starting with the restrooms followed by the cooking area then the bar and of course, the floors. And this place its the 5 mark on all counts 4) Parking plentiful (unless of course, you have a party for 50 then you might have a problem) 5) Entertainment available with big screen TV's, dart boards, karaoke machine and CD juke box I had a private party there and it felt so great; as it was my own place. The perfect little neighborhood bar. I was embraced with such aloha when I entered by fellow patrons. Drinks are most reasonably priced. While there wasn't a menu to order from the bartender made and provided pupus, on my visit cheese quesadillas were provided and they were excellent. Description of the Aloha Lounge being in the backside of the building with little visible signage from the street is spot on. Well worth seeking out. read more

Aloha Lounge, located on the back side of Town Restaurant in Kaimuki. Its your typical neighborhood "local" bar with pool tables, darts, karaoke and alcohol. I had some crazy nights here as my friends are "regulars" here since they live so close. Aunty is great and she is always willing to cook up some pupu's for you to eat. It's funny how you can end up here after dinner and still eat more. The beer is cheap, Karaoke is $1 but its the company that you surround yourself with that makes it fun. read more

Went there for the 1st time last night. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to check this place out for a while--we've heard quite a few different things about this place and know several people who frequent here. (And we live nearby.) This place isn't the easiest place to find. It's behind Town, next to a hair salon on 9th and Waialae. Parking is scanty, but we didn't need to drive. ...So "yay" for that. Aloha Lounge is bigger than I thought. It fits 2 pool tables, a pretty decent-sized bar, a kitchen, and a good amount of tables and chairs. The owner is Olivia Mama. And for a Mama, she is so down-to-Earth and nice! I mean, she must be because she has a lot of regular house-customers. We were so fortunate to sample the cooked fish last night. It was uber tasty and *moist* (that's a nasty word, sorry). I don't remember what kind of fish she said it was, but it was GOOD. Now that I've actually gotten a chance to sample this place, I'm hooked. Stay tuned for my update :) read more

Finding a good hang out on a Friday night (besides the mall and Starbucks) lead me to this gem of a place that's located in Kaimuki town. Right along 9th Avenue and Waialae Avenues, this place is located in the back of Town restaurant. This place has a good vibe and I am glad I could stop by. If I got hammered, I could just walk back home to get sober (I didn't). It's definitely a whole in the wall business, if you are not looking for it, especially when its nestled in Kaimuki town, where most of Kaimuki is basically a residential subdivision. I stepped into this place, but it had that vibe that makes me want to stay and just hang out. Love the casual atmosphere, without having to be a full on bar scene. This is probably the half way point I was desiring between restaurant / bar to full on bar - at least that's how I viewed it. The owner is nice and inviting. This place has good food and the prices are reasonable! I felt comfortable in this place, and that's what made it fun. I am glad I got to be here and I am grateful that they are in Kaimuki town and I live nearby, so the parking situation can be a non-issue. For you who drive, the most you can do is just find parking along the side streets. Good luck with that though. Its kind of a challenge, but it will be well worth it.I enjoyed the free pupus, so that awesome. They open to 2am, so I could hang out there more if I wasn't traveling so much. But it is what it is. I'll be back! The pricing was comparable to where I have been, and they do go the extra mile for you when you want a specific drink. They have a full bar and have most imports. The pool table scene can be outrageous, but it's all in good fun. I just like to people watch sometime, without really thinking about problems at work and errands I need to do in the coming days. After many minutes of begging, I was finally dragged out of the comfort of my blanket and thrown into the car for a night out with the bf and friends. Again, agreeing with Tessa T., this place can be difficult to find.. Luckily we had four eyes to help find the place.. We came with party of about 10 and Aunty was so nice!!!!!! The atmosphere is so welcoming. We were there along with a couple of older people singing and they were great! The songs are a dollar each but it's worth it because the vibe is great. The drinks are about 5-6 dollars on depending what you want.. they don't have a whole wide selection but who cares!! Again, Aunty is so sweet and even brought out some food for free!!! I was the d-squared so I ordered a soda and she was so kind as to refill mines after I was all done.. she came around making sure we were all ok and had everything we wanted. The famous Aloha Lounge -once the entertainment center for the musical Isaac family in the 70s has changed ownership multiple times- but as of October 1, 2018 new local owners have taken over the iconic location in Kaimuki. I went to the Grand Opening on October6, 2018 and had a great time. There are a bunch of big screen TVs around the bar - showing college, Pro, and local high school football. They are still working out the bugs for PPV sports I am guessing -so we'll see. There was live music and the crowd were older locals-you know - the non trouble making kine!! The wait staff was on it!! They have a big kitchen and although the food was all catered for the grand opening -I suspect in the future that will be utilized. I saw some famous people in there that night-so i think this is going to be a great spot to party!! Its changed into a pretty nice Sports bar-so I'll be going back for Football games and stuff. read more

It was cool, kinda nostalgic and the regulars there reminded me little bit of the kine older people laid back "aunty" and "uncle" kine. One of highlights is the women's bathroom, clean and decent...not at all like how you would expect a neighborhood bar bathroom would look like or smell like. Only been here the one time but had a blast. To be honest this was our last stop of the night so I had some drinks before hand, which maybe why I could overlook some things that may bother others. Let me start by saying that there was an awesome crowd here, everyone was having a great time and were friendly and hilarious. We sang karaoke to our hearts content, very poorly I might add, and everyone clapped and danced. The karaoke system is a little dated, if the microphones get to close to eachother or a speaker you get a loud kick back. There is only one pool table so if you wanna play you may have to wait. I didn't really order much, but the drinks we did get were reasonably priced. Definitely a local hole in the wall ! My friends took me here right when I came into town for ironically my friend's going away party and I loved it ! Service: Mama San & uncle are so nice, they really take care of you and keep the drinks coming ! Drinks: They don't have a wide range of drinks, just beer & hards ! So I stuck to jäger bombs ($8) Food: I ate before I came so I can't say I've had it but my friends said the steak is good ! Just your average bar food Entertainment: karaoke !!! FiNALLY i found the place. my crown is $6 a pop :( so normally i wouldn't visit this place often... BUT! mama seriously does hook it up.... with the LOAD of yummy food... not just pupus BUT FOOD... meat jun, fish cakes, fries, eggs, noodles.... for how much?! nada. she has a menu posted up...but no one orders from there... no one needs to. yes, i read the reviews about food, but i figured that would be reserved for her regulars... but we were there for the first time and she just loaded us up! The singers here can be amazing and the drinks can be reasonably price IF YOU Watch Your BILL. Best to pay cash, cause sometimes, it seems drinks appear on it.that you may have not ordered, or someone in your party paid cash for.
