    Medium rare steak.. apparently.

Bar: 50/50. The younger bald guy is a GEM. older guy is crotchety and miserable. Food: also 50/50. Grilled chicken sandwich 9/10! Steak... asked for medium rare. See photo.. I know it's a dead cow but this is cremated.

After a stressful week, I just wanted to grab a couple of drinks in a quiet atmosphere w/out loud music or bumping into people I know. I figured lets go to the Bar at the Hilton by my residence. LOVE LOVE +Remodeled the decor and its now modern and sexy- as an interior designer, I really enjoyed the atmosphere. Sophisticated and relaxing. +John, the bartender, was T.H.E.B.E.S.T. He was professional, informative about their menu and SO Nice. We obviously just met so he had no idea how stressful my week was; therefor his genuine and kind manner regardless was so welcoming. +Lately Im going through a margarita phase (?) dont ask....and my Margarita with Casamigo Tequila was delicious +I dont usually harp on prices for drinks because If I want a drink, I want A DRINK! However, my friend was taken about by how price point friendly it was. 4 fabulously made cocktails and amazing company (thanks to John) was under 50 bucks. That is a steal in Los Angeles. Chill vibe...chatted with some people who were visiting from out of town....and called it a day. Will def. be back to check out their dinner. The Dinner Area ambiance looked beautiful.

    Ordered medium rare.

I had breakfast and dinner as well as a snack here . Restaurant was clean and service by Rosa at breakfast was excellent. She has wonderful customer service skills. Food was good . Tasted good and price point was good . Only reason I did not give this place a 5 star is due to my steak being well done when I ordered medium rare .

Dinning room is not open so they have you sit in the walkway of the bar. They don't have a full menu and it take 20 to 30 mins to get your food. And when it comes out it's not the way it was ordered. Our first server John who was also the bar tender was nice and friendly. The 2nd guy was not so nice and did not listen to what or how you order your food. I sent my food back I ordered a cheese burger and when I got it it was way over cooked plain and had no cheese.

I had lunch at the Amuse Hilton Restaurant on West Glenoaks Blvd. in Glendale. This is a very beautiful restaurant inside the tall 18 story Glendale Hilton, in the small quaint city of Glendale, CA. Appetizer: bread and butter; warm, soft, fresh and delicious. Entrée: I ordered two; Salmon Plank Plates; They were soft, flaky, and on a plank, served with small baked potatoes and baked vegetables. Diana and I enjoyed this wonderful dish. We both drank a Diet Coke with our meal. Dessert: I had; Tiramisu; it was super dupurly delicious. Diana ordered: Molten Chocolate Cake with a scoop of ice cream. also delicious. I thanked management for allowing me to take a few photos. Then I left to find another place for a review. Robert H.

(Drank 03/28/26 SA @ 6:00pm): How famous was this bar in Glendale?…read more After a late-afternoon film at the nearby AMC The Americana At Brand 18, my friend and I walked around a bit and eventually found ourselves at The Famous Bar. With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. Would this bar famously make an impression on me to remember to return in the future!? PURCHASE(S) Fremont Brewing Dark Star Double Oatmeal Imperial Stout Beer 8.00% ABV 16floz Draft ($6.00 HH; Reg. $9.00): Dark brown color, coffee oatmeal roasty aroma, medium body, chocolate coffee oatmeal roasty toasty flavor, mouthfeel smooth finish, and coffee oatmeal roasty toasty aftertaste. This was a really tasty brew and my favorite of the two! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=ad_C9YTJYF9lVr2FOEQLkg 12" Margherita Pizza ($20.00 HH; Reg. $26.00): A simple pizza with a somewhat thin crust that was kind of cardboardy, the flavor was rather pedestrian with chewy mozzarella although the basil was fragrant and fresh. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=kdkvUttCLmMOAGQ1nyp5tg Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. Danish Red Amber Lager Beer 5.50% ABV 16floz Draft ($5.00 HH; Reg. $8.00): Dark amber red color, malty allspice aroma, low body, malty sweet flavor, clean smooth finish, and malty sweet aftertaste. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=QQjsTWce5Lstcxj5PowrYw Steak Fries ($7.00 HH; Reg. $9.00): This was an impulse buy as something to pair with my second beer. A decent portion-sized snack, each spud stick was hot, steaming, and thick and came with a side of ketchup. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=GVoy0nzxFUL6rHWaxNdG7Q SERVICE We were warmly greeted by a sole young woman behind the bar who handed us a menu and directed us to sit anywhere. After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Tried out and became a huge fan of the green tea shots. Totally unexpected in terms of flavor and taste from how one would think it would be like from the name. I enjoyed using the billiard tables and playing darts. The bathrooms were also private, just very dark in the hallway to walk through, but the light switches work. You can follow the timeslots of the booking options online but there is an option to choose a custom time for more money. I like the chalkboard feature where you can name your party/hangout event and pretty much customize the sign to your liking. Would definitely like to do this again in the future. I made a reservation to celebrate my best friend's birthday! We ended up not really needing it…read moresince the restaurant was quite empty, but no worries. We ordered a bunch of food, so here's the review of each dish: -Fiery feta dip: 5/5 -- maybe could be an eeeeeensy spicier, but so well balanced! Not heavy at ALL with the acidity cutting through so nicely. -Grilled Spanish octopus: 4/5 -- not as soft as I thought it would be tbh! Squeeze a lot of lemon; it pairs very well with the spiced oil. -Filet mignon plate: 4.75/5 -- beef cooked perfectly medium rare and seasoned well, tzatziki bright, veggies grilled well, rice could use a bitttttt more flavor but everything still ate really deliciously! - Hummus side: 5/5 -- SOOOO GOOD! super smooth, not too bean-y, spiced well. Super delicious with fries and the pita. - Seasoned fries side: 5/5 -- honestly no complaints! Seasoned with zaatar seasoning blend, it was perfectly salty and a hint of spice with crispy yet fluffy fries. Went well with the side of ketchup, in the hummus, with the feta dip, etc -Server Art is the son of the family who owns Greek Bistro. He was personable, had recommendations for us, and told us the story of how the fiery feta dip landed on the menu (Art I hope your pillow is always cold).
