Horrible food. I got coupons downstairs after picking up my order so decided to give it a try. It's disgusting. The food was overcooked. The only thing decent was the tomato soup.

If you're looking for nice place to have lunch or dinner where the noise level is low, this might be a good place. The food options are good. The service was great. It's a wonderful spot if you're shopping at the Americana.

Service was attentive and helpful. My sparkling drink was refreshing and delicious. My bestie and I started off with Burrata with heirloom tomatoes for starter. It was absolutely delicious. As was the lobster bisque. Chefs kiss. Creamy, flavorful and tasty. For entree, she chose the Campanelle, mushroom and chicken pasta, which was actually quite dry missed the mark on this particular occasion. I chose the salmon salad. The fish was cooked perfectly and the pesto crust was delicious. Ambiance was nice and quiet for a regular Tuesday morning. A lovely stop after spending some time shopping at Nordstrom.

The most average meal I have ever had in a restaurant. I have been coming to the Americana ever since they opened and never ate here at the Bar Verde until last Thursday when my mom and I met here for lunch. I always wondered how the food is and now I know. The Asian salad I ordered was the worst salad I ever ate. So salty and the chicken on top was so dry I couldn't even chew it. The portion was like a side salad portion. Very disappointing. My mom ordered the pappardelle with shrimp and couldn't even finish it. The shrimp tasted so bad but the pasta sauce was ok. On the bright note the ginger peach iced tea I ordered was delicious specially on a hot autumn day in LA ... customer service was unfriendly and the ambiance a bit cold. Since I was with my mom I had a good time talking and spending time with her. Other than that this lunch was a fail.

Roma Tomato Basil Soup

Staff were really nice, and the restaurant was really clean. The ambiance was very cozy and intimate, so if you're interested in a quiet meal after shopping at the americana, this is the spot!

Espresso Martini, cauliflower flatbread and cilantro lime salad

The food was great. I shared a cauliflower flatbread & had a super refreshing cilantro lime vinegrette salad.... it all tasted fresh and flavorful. I have a gluten allergy & the chef was very accommodating, made the whole experience even better. Plus, the vibe of the place was great.... super chill, def coming back!

Gifts for being an Icon status

I obtained an Icon status with Nordstrom and one of the benefits is a complimentary meal for four guests. My family and I made a reservation through Nordstrom Icon for dinner. We arrived a bit too early but they seated us with no issue. This meal is comped except alcohol. The staff gifted me a cook book, a box of chocolate and a $50 gift card. I was only aware of the gift card so I was surprised by other gifts given. Here's what we ordered: Appetizers: Heirloom tomatoes & burrata* Kung pao brussels sprouts* Lobster bisque* Crisp calamari Margherita flatbread Main: Braised beef sandwich Chef's featured steak 6oz filet mignon Chef's featured steak 8oz flat iron* Halibut & chips Crab mac & cheese* Drinks: Golden hour Berry ginger smash Diet coke Sparkling lemonade Dessert: White chocolate bread pudding* Creme brulee* Double chocolate brownie sundae I love all the dishes with (*). I was pleasantly surprised by the white chocolate bread pudding. It's one of my favorite desserts and I will order it if it's on the menu. Every restaurant does it differently and for this restaurant, they made the bread crispy. Not soft like other bread puddings. I really enjoyed it! Service was slow, but always with a smile and a positive attitude. The kitchen messed up on the filet mignon. We asked for medium but it came out well done. The server was so kind to let us pick another option due to this mistake. Overall, food was better than expected! I would love to sit outside on a patio next time.

Considering that this is a restaurant inside a store, the food was actually pretty good. We went for brunch, had shrimp egg Benedict and Wild Shrimp Tagliatelle. I would definitely get again.

Mushroom and chicken Pasta

Food was delicious I had the mushroom chicken pasta and it was so good. There was garlicky ricotta cream on the side of the plate and it was sooo good. Service was decent little slow but kind waiter. The general vibes of the place were great very quiet and chill.

Margherita cauliflower pizza

After being recommended this place many times, I finally came to check it out. I had the Margherita pizza on cauliflower crust for starters and the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit sandwich. The pizza was light and fresh. I try to leave out the crust so I can control my calorie intake but this is the type of crust you nust want to continue enjoying. The sandwich was amazing! They go above and beyond with dressing the chicken and the biscuit is made with amazing ingredients that levels way up from the basic one we have all tried. It came with wedge fries that were also rich in flavor that for me went great with some Dijon mustard. The outside seating was great and peaceful which we enjoyed around noon. By the time we were done, the place was super packed. Our server Nelson was a delight and really took care of us. He made great suggestions. I almost forgot the desert before the appetizer! The Espresso Martini... Will make everything better. Great mix and cudos to the bartender. Chef Jonathan Santa Cruz definitely knows what good food is. Will come back for sure and try out more stuff.

The honey Dijon Cobb salad with roasted chicken.

I've been to the Nordstroms at the Americana dozens of times and walked past this place but never went in. What a mistake! When I tried it yesterday, I was impressed by the menu, service, and lovely outdoor seating overlooking the mall. Kenneth, my server, was great, and I didn't have to wait or ask for anything. The menu offers several salads, and you can pick whatever protein (or roasted cauliflower) you want to add. I tried the honey Dijon Cobb with roast chicken. I am a Cobb connoisseur, so I'm picky about them. This one was A+! The hard-boiled egg was nicely diced, the bacon was crumbly, and they used provolone cheese. Great dressing, too. I skipped the tomato and grilled corn. I had a nice, reasonably priced prosecco, and it was a generous pour. I will be back.

Was shopping here for V-day and stopped but to get a drink. Since it's afternoon i opted for a tea with a little bit of alcohol. Timing was perfect service was great. Cute little bar inside of Nordstrom.

Christina H.

The food was amazing we got the Nordstrom burger and the caesar salad with streak. The sauce for the burger and fries was so unique and delicious... I will be coming back just for that also the drinks we got were so tasty!! I hardly ever leave reviews but this was too good not to. Ambiance was lovely sitting outside, & service was also really good!! Will be coming back soon

At street level, Nordstrom offers this cafe. We have yet to try it but, isn't this a nice bookend to Bar Verde?

Our two servers were fantastic! It was fun talking custom cocktails with one, and food with the other. Both servers, as well as food runners, were ON IT! Very friendly, attentive to each table, and efficient. Our drinks were delicious! The spirits on their shelves are high quality, so drinks were top notch. The bartenders definitely make well balanced, delicious concoctions. And then our food came: Mmm! So many vibrant flavors! Fresh, popping zings of ginger and garlic on the noods, delectable brisket with brightness from the red onion and cilantro wrapped in a comfort blanket of bao, break a sweet sweat from chilis on the spicy tofu noodles, green, bright, and lip smacking umami on the brussels, and bbq perfection on the meat. Everything was taste-bud pleasing in a unique and unexpected ways. Plenary of fans here for the game! Happy Hour after workers, families - everyone welcome. Room at the bar, tables for 2, 4, or 6 - lucky us again - to sit along the large open wall-window that let in the evening breeze. If you want a tiki style cozier vibe, head upstairs to the lift area. Parking is a commodity, and there's no lot here. Street parking in front or on residential side streets. All around great experience! If I were a local, this would definitely be on high rotation!

Very friendly and they provide great service. Their brews menu is TOP NOTCH! The first time I had a P.O.G. cider (not theirs,) and this last time I had their own branded "Resolution Juice" hard seltzer. Honestly I expected something similar to a White Claw or other canned hard seltzer, but this was completely different. The menu stated it had notes of mango, prickly pear, and key lime and I was able to taste all of those flavors. One of the best brews I've had in a while! Their food menu is also awesome. They have a variety of vegan, veg, and non-veg dishes, and everything is soooo reasonably priced. Their vegan lumpia is great, vegan chicken sandwich is great, and this last time I had their wonton chicken salad which was super flavorful and rich. We also got the fried pickles this time which were not my favorite but not necessarily bad either. Highly recommend stopping by here for a casual drink or lunch, you wont regret it!

I've been going to them more and more, and The Lucky Tiki was one I definitely had to try out. First off, I have to praise 1933 group because I have loved every single bar they have revitalized and this one is no different. In keeping with their MO, The Lucky Tiki is a speakeasy with a vintage vibe. I won't give away how to get in but let's just say, it's near the front of Highland Park Bowl. My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. Was the perfect spot for a lively date night!

How about instead of accepting $$$ for a private event that will deny customers their reservation, they make the private event work around what is available? Terrible way of doing business, but I hope they get lots of $$$ and engagement for the privileged private event attendees.

We were told seating was first come, first served, so when a table opened up outside, our group of five sat down while part of our group went inside to order. Almost immediately, my friends were aggressively accused by a waitress of bringing outside alcohol, which was completely untrue. Shortly after ordering multiple drinks and several plates of food, another staff member came to our table and began yelling at us, threatening to kick us out for being "rude" to staff, even though we had done nothing but order our food and drinks. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching other guests openly smoking weed while staff said nothing, yet our group felt watched, accused, and singled out the entire time. As the only Latino group sitting outside, the experience left us feeling unwelcome, uncomfortable, and discriminated against. As a fellow restaurant owner, I understand hospitality and house policies, which is why this treatment was especially disappointing. What should have been a fun birthday celebration turned into a terrible experience, and we ended up leaving early.

Not even exaggerating when I say we waited at least 15 minutes after we asked for the check and there were probably only 10 tables in the entire restaurant. And we had to call her back over to ask for a second time. SMH. The food although flavorful was so ridiculously priced it was not even funny. I got a "ribeye ". Was literally eight thin slices of steak, like 1" x 1" size for $42! No, I will not be coming back here for so many reasons. The view is great. Castaways is definitely not what it used to be in the way of quality but at least you get more and you get the view. But definitely not worth it going to this place. It was quite a frustrating evening. Also, if you do decide to go here, just bring a coat when it's a little bit cooler in the evenings cause it does get cold up here and getting the staff to manage the heaters correctly is a whole other frustration. Oh, and valet is your only option for parking up here. It's kind of crazy because a few years ago you could just go park in the lot or the garage that's available there but now they're charging you $11 and it's chaos.
