Great alternative to the hustle & bustle of Central Amsterdam. The Botel is just situated a short 10 min ferry ride from Station Centraal. Pros - Quiet & Calm - Clean facilities - Great water pressure (shower) - Attentive staff - All you can eat buffet style lunch (FTW) Cons - Ferries can get confusing - No direct ferries after midnight - Rooms, esp bathrooms are tiny - 80s style decorum - Cigarette machines, but no smoking (LOL) Overall, I enjoyed my stay. I especially liked when the swans greeted me in the morning outside my window, I stayed on the first floor (really close to the water)

I melted into it...and, yes, treats from local coffee shops definitely made that even more of a luxurious experience. The single room wasn't as claustrophobic as some reviews mention, but definitely would be cramped if two people were staying there (I was on my own). The room has a large bed, desk, and two bedside tables, and that's about it. There's a rather spacious closet (given the room size), and while the bathroom is lacking in counter space, there are drawers under the sink where you can store your toiletries. The location was perfect for being far enough away from Central Station/Red Light District but close enough for arrival/departure purposes. Situated on a canal adjacent to, if not actually in the Jordan area, super close to the Anne Frank house and walking distance to a handful of cafes, cocktail lounges, eateries, etc. Super easy to get buses/trams/walk to other neighborhoods as well and separated from the hustle and bustle so when you arrived back each night, you could leave the hectic nature of the day outside. While I didn't indulge in the dining/bar on site, it's absolutely stunning. An extremely welcoming, romantic vibe, complete with goth-y and velvet accents.

Our King room provided close to a 4-star hotel experience at a 3 star price point - it was plenty large enough with a firm, king size bed, dedicated shower area with a large overhead rain shower (and additional hose sprayer), tons of cabinet storage, a huge bathroom counter and sink and private toilet area. And while our room overlooked the train station and canal, arguably one of the busiest areas in all of Amsterdam, it was pretty much dead quiet due to excellent window insulation and blackout blinds. The building itself is stunning - see pic. The front desk was very friendly and most helpful with several requests we had. Overall, this hotel is a top choice for a short stay in Amsterdam with near instant access to everything including trains, trams and buses. In addition, the hotel is ultra modern with state-of-the-art amenities throughout and I haven't even mentioned the original modern artwork that is pervasive throughout the property. Very highly recommended!

It was extremely hot while in Amsterdam and this hotel had a great AC. The other hotel we were at was not idle and it was hard to sleep. Nice happy hour and food at the restaurant. Also check out the art show downstairs if available.

I found this hotel randomly online for my stay in Amsterdam and absolutely loved it…read more For the price it was amazing. A few notable items - - Check-In & Check-Out process is self serve and seamless. For those that don't love talking to people, this is IT girl. There is a staffed front desk available to assist if you run into any issues. - We booked the basic two person room. The cons - a pretty small room with a bathroom/toilet that is separated by a very thin glass wall; if you're looking for privacy, you're not going to get it. The pros - beds are super comfy and you can airplay your phone on the TV which is great. We also had no issues with WiFi in the room. - Lovely gym that is attached to the lobby. - A self-serve grab and go cart in the lobby area for snacks, water and even DRINKS! I've never been to a hotel that had self-serve beer & wine on TAP. Love that. - The restaurant downstairs actually has pretty good food - we ate here multiple times and enjoyed it. - Ubers we're super easy to call and everything you need to access in the city is 15-30 minutes away. They also had bikes for rent (we didn't take advantage of this) but it was a nice perk. The hotel gives hip vibes - almost like you're on a reality show (think Netflix's The Circle). It's almost between a super elevated hostel and hotel. I personally really enjoyed it and would definitely book again.

Since I am new to Amsterdam, I had no idea where to book and this location is across the water. It was further away that I expected and seemed to be in a business district rather than the "party" district. Actually, it was nice to be in an area that is more calm and quiet. When I finally arrived at the hotel, well past 8 pm, the staff was very helpful. My day was extremely stressful trying to figure out how to continue a trip without the travel partner who booked everything. The staff stepped up and helped me and their attitude calmed me down. I was so grateful for how nice they were to me. One of the staff members said that he really appreciate how nice and calm I was with them and that most people would have been angry in the same circumstances. Those words literally meant the world to me. We lifted each other up that night and so I will always be a fan. Then I went into my room!!!! SWOON! There was a light behind the television that allowed you to change it to 5 or 6 different colors. Very cool! The shower was really big and had a rain shower from the ceiling. Truly my best stay the entire month that I was in Europe. The breakfast spread was so amazing I couldn't stop eating. I never eat that much food, but it tasted incredible. The staff in the breakfast area were also super helpful and kind. When I go back to Amsterdam, and I will, this is for sure where I want to stay!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!
