Booked this hotel as accompanying my mother for a workshop and we stayed for 2 nights. The check-out time is noon and check-in time is 2pm, so very convenient indeed, if you are a later riser like myself, and fancy a lie-in.
The mattress was really comfortable but the comforter was like a kid size in the U.S. Same for the shower, loved that there was a handheld AND a rainshower but the pressure was pathetically low. I also really liked the bathroom design and layout, so much so that if I were to ever remodel my bathroom, I would do the design the same way as this hotel. The towels could have been a bit more bigger in size and fluffier too, but otherwise it was a good price for a good nights stay.
I think the one area for improvement is the dining. Firstly there is no toaster facility, and you have to ask the servers to get your toast warmed up for you. So if toasters could be placed in the main dining area that would be great. Secondly, if the food like the salads and cold meats etc could be labelled, that would help you self identify your food restrictions rather than having to wait until one of the servers came by. Lastly, the food, for both breakfast and lunch was split and kept in two different places, but there wasn't any signs to let one know that.
For breakfast, the cereals were in the middle of the room, and because there was no labels, mum ended up with buttermilk rather than milk in her cereal, and she said it tasted horrible and ended up getting another bowl - but we both abhorred the waste of good food. Then for lunch, we again didn't realize the salad bar was in the middle, we just saw the pasta walking straight in and to the right. Again no labeling, so mum who is a vegetarian ended up eating some fish salad by mistake. One big plus at lunch was that they served gluten free bread :)
Oh, also for breakfast, find the fresh orange juice machine. That was just truly awesome. read more
