Great location to two tram lines. Hotel room had a waterfront view and their was 24 hr room service, a great restaurant, and maid service daily. Definitely would return!

My friends and I stayed in this hotel for three nights in August 2013. When we first walked in we had no idea what to expect. There was definitely a great view of the water across from the hotel. Since there were two males and one female in this room, we asked for a room that could fit an extra bed. The room they gave us was 3 stars on paper. It had an interesting decor with medicine bottles in the cabinet. The main bed was built into the cubby hole with a tv inside hanging above. The bathroom was large, but with the common shared floor shower frequently seen in Europe where the water can get all over the place. The extra bed was comfortable along the edge of the room. We were a bit lucky with weather, but one night was hot without air conditioning available. We kept our windows open, but unfortunately the restaurant below and bars nearby kept things loud all night on a Friday night into Sunday morning. The restaurant in the hotel had GREAT food and beers. The overall decor of the building was eclectic and cool. I thought this place could be haunted! We enjoyed being able to get hot water for tea right outside our room. BEST things about this hotel: We were able to purchae tram passes at the desk for the stop just behind the hotel. We were able to purchase passes for many of the museums that are in Amsterdam allowing us to bypass long lines. One should DEFINITELY take advantage of this. Free wifi was a plus. With the offerings listed above, I would recommend this place for someone looking for a reasonable stay.

Really cool and arty hotel this. It's situated in the former eastern docklands of Amsterdam, quite an interesting part of town with impressive architecture all around the harbours. The hotel's rooms are all uniquely designed by a variety of artists and designers. We stayed in a very roomy romantic loft one, just under the roof. It has a fantastic bath and a swing even! I kid you not. We also like the restaurant a lot. They serve dinner till 01 in the morning! All fresh, all organic. Even if you are not staying in the hotel the restaurant is worth a visit. Staff is excellent too. Very friendly and professional.

The two ladies were highly fun and interesting to converse with and was always quick with a smile . However, it is their professional service that made them rock stars. Both had many suggestions to make our trip exceptional in Amsterdam and we will return to this Hyatt because of Carolina and April! I loved the apple pie and want the recipe to make for my grandkids at home . Hope April or Carolina can get it for me! Pleeeeze! Dining room - 4 stars , although it didn't have as many menu options as the other Hyatt hotels , the food was solid. Front Desk- lovely people Rooms- Nice layouts and clean Location- easy access anywhere. Metro is 4 minutes walk and trams number 1 and 14 are across the street. There is an Albert Heijn store conveniently across the street , a Latino restaurant "Caliente" few feet away ,

The lobby is chic, with cozy couches, dim lighting, and welcoming staff. The location might feel bit far from the center, but to me that was appealing. A slower pace and more local vibe made for some realistic exploring. I was able to book this room on points and even had a suite upgrade, so this was the best place to stay at the end of a trip. I'm just sad we didn't stay here for longer! Our room was spacious, they had a wooden baby crib with a tiny little pillow and duvet, a walk-in closet, and giant bathroom. The bed was so comfy and we almost never wanted to leave the room. the only downside is there are windows where the bedroom is, only in the living room area. The staff were accommodating putting ice packs and breast milk in the freezer and answering any questions. We explored the club room for happy hour and breakfast, but also enjoyed breakfast in the restaurant and WOW. Quite the spread with something for everyone! I love that you can get coffee and eggs made to order. On our last breakfast we had to leave quickly and they made our coffees to go. Truly a gem and I would 100% return here.

As someone else mentioned, the hotel is sometimes used as subsidized student housing, but that changes nothing! The amenities were perfect for our needs: a large shower, decent counter space in the bathroom, a coffee maker and drinking glasses, and a comfortable bed with a nice sized tv. Our view looked into the office building across the street, but so what? I was here to see the city, not hang out in the room! The hotel is located a little further out from the city center than I would have liked, but it is an easy 5 minute walk to the train and tram station, where you can be anywhere in town within another 10 minutes. The staff was friendly, and helpful when we needed it. I did see some funkier hotels that I would like to try if I'm ever back in Amsterdam, but I would have no qualms about staying here again! 4/2020

The overall room size is quite a bit larger than your typical European room, which is cool. The service was solid and the free wifi was actually pretty quick. Honestly, the only downside to this hotel is the proximity to downtown Amsterdam. It's about a 35min walk, or a 15€ can ride, or you can actually rent a bike from the hotel. The hotel is conveniently located near Amstel station, which provides direct access to downtown and the airport. Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at if you work in one of the nearby businesses, I would just be reluctant to recommend it for this looking to be in the "action" downtown. We got a 3 person room and found the shape of the room to be odd but overall, it worked for us. The rooms have large windows and ours was overlooking the park and so it was like being in a tree house. Shower and toilet rooms were separate which was good when you travel and share a room with others but the toilet/WC is really tiny and compact and if you are imaginative can feel like it is closing in on you. I don't know why they didn't even think of at least putting a tiny mirror. The shower is okay but not great. It is a wet shower as in the water will will spill into the area with the sink. And there is no body lotion. Not a big deal for many people, but for me, my skin gets dry and so I wish I had known. Wifi works well and fast. This is not a luxury hotel nor a business-friendly one. There are no charging ports anywhere by the bed nor are there any universal power outlets. I hardly see hotels without at least one universal power outlet these days. If you are the 'charge my phone by my bed person', beware. This is more a dorm converted to a hotel with no upgrades whatsoever since the 60's or 70's. No aircon either, no mini-fridge or microwave. The front desk service is lovely but they are very understaffed so be prepared for a wait to check in, check out or if you have questions. But you can get the public transit tickets with them. The staff moved me to a room with a different bathroom configuration, where the toilet is not in a separate cubicle and at least I will now be able to use it without be a contortionist. WiFi is iffy. They really do everything to make our stay great! The rooms are nice, the staff so very friendly. But the reason I give the rating I give is very simple.... The logistics and the small things compared to the other location they have not much further from the city center. But the amount of time to get to the center is the same due to the transportation option. Is not as convenient. Their parking garage is small and they charge 35 euros and is not even for 24 hours we had to take the car out at 1500 or 3 pm They had breakfast for free and that is amazing but the amount of inconvenience. We got lost looking for the tram... so much wasted time. The other location by the convention arena is much easier and the metro is right in front of it. They don't charge for parking and we were allowed to keep the car in the garage more than 24 hours. Over there is more expensive but the peace of mind is more important when on vacation... so I would not recommend this location.

Everything rocks and crackles a bit on this boat hotel but this is the way it should be. Very good located, 15 minutes of very slow walk from Amsterdam Centraal station, you can easily make it even with heavy luggage. On the way, walking on the Prins Henrikkade, you will see a legendary newly reopened bar Pollux. You will be close to restaurants such as Batavia 1920 and Steakhouse-Pizzeria Bellino, and the famous Zeedijk street with myriads of bars.... And, of course, to Red Light District. I used this boat hotel this time as a base for a couple of gigs at Paradiso. Paradiso is 30 minutes of walk away, but I knew the road. You can also use a tram. The rooms are basic. You have to wait a little bit on hot water. The steep stairs and bunk beds are not suited for elderly people. The girl at the reception is friendly and helpful (as well her cute little dog /who behaves like a cat/). There is no 24 recepetion, but don't worry: the dining/living room is open and well-lighted (and well heated as well!) all the time.
