Cute place. I loved the water machine in the lobby and you can even get soda water out of it. The gym is pretty good for such a small little quaint, hotel. Everything's clean and the service is awesome. The Lebanese restaurant is amazing. Get the big sharing tower- it was the best. The eggrolls and the beef stew: the very first thing on the menu; are amazing- the beef stew they're able to make gluten-free. The bar and lounge are very cool hang out. They even have an atrium if you wish.

Our first time to try Indonesian Cuisine and we are all surprised All that they served to us really taste so good well balanced foods and the waiters explain and suggest what is the best for the first timer so we can try little bit of everything and we enjoyed it plus the decorations and the hotel lobby is very nice it's welcoming ambiance feel fresh when you get in

Nice Hyatt for a short stay in Amsterdam. Easy access to the canals, the Jewish Quarter and the metro. The rooms were very spacious and modern. A nice surprise in Amsterdam. Nice gym, but after walking 24,000+ daily steps, we were not inclined to use it. So nice that they brought a beautiful birthday card and decorated chocolate cake to the room to celebrate my husband's birthday. Such a sweet touch, both literally and figuratively. A great way to start our European holiday. Definitely book a room with breakfast. What a delicious way to start the day in Amsterdam. Mama Makan Indonesian Kitchen is located in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in the Plantage District. Nice to be able to get a delicious breakfast each morning. Eggs were cooked to order. The salmon Benedict orders were served on a slice of brown bread with spinach. Add an avocado half on the side. Delicious! So many options on the breakfast buffet. Smoked salmon. Beets. Indonesian noodle salad. Fresh fruit. Sautéed vegetables. Roasted potatoes. Grilled cauliflower. Hummus. Yogurt. Lots and lots of cheese to try. Gouda. Blue cheese. Geitenkaas/Goat cheese. Dill havarti. Edam. Nice to sample so many tasty varieties. Pastries galore. Dutch pancakes. Madeleines. Scones. Freshly baked loaves of bread. Focaccia. Flatbreads. Indonesian pastries. The Indonesian layer cakes, spekkoek or lapis legit, are so beautiful and so delicious. Imagine the effort that goes into making a cake with eighteen thin layers. The cakes origin goes back to when the Dutch colonized Indonesia and married the European cake with local Indonesian spices. So delightful. Coffee, loose leaf tea, hot cocoa or freshly squeezed juices and fruit smoothies are all available. Different options were available each morning of our stay, but there were so many options that it made each day a unique dining experience. A great place for to stay a bit off the beaten path in Amsterdam.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel with our first visit to Amsterdam. We loved the access to the Club lounge with the unlimited water and drinks which is so helpful during travels. We enjoyed the breakfast in the lounge but the restaurant breakfast was especially wonderful with some dishes from the Indonesian restaurant each morning. Staff was attentive and so friendly from Maxim in housekeeping helping us to set up the couch for our daughter and multiple requests with converters and questions, the restaurant servers to the front desk helping to print our boarding passes and helping with cabs. Highlight was April in the lounge who was so bright and cheerful to all visitors. Our one gripe is the bed was extremely hard but we got used to it over our stay!

Pool table in the hotel lobby bar. So fun.

It's the service that makes this hotel. The reception is multilingual and outstanding. My Hyatt status was recognized and I had a gorgeous room on the club floor with a view of a quiet canal. Great bathrooms. The shower door is a bit awkward as it is huge and blocks the toilet door but it's a giant, wonderful rain shower. The morning breakfast is outstanding...try the speculaas cake! The lobby has a bar with a pool table. The location is slightly out of the city center, and I usually just walked in which is about 20 minutes. Very modern, sparking clean and well run property. Small but well equipped 24 hour gym with a trainer present during the day. There are a lot of options in Amsterdam, but if you don't mind being a short walk outside the busy city center, this is a great choice.

I wouldn't recommend. An item of mine was stolen and our toiletries bag was slightly gone through with cologne out of the bag and used.

Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

You Get What You Pay For…read more I bartended for Hard Rock Cafe for 12 years. I love rock and roll, so when I saw this hotel it definitely jumped out at me. I will list the positives first since there are not that many: 1. The dayshift employee (cannot remember his name) was a very nice man. He recommended great vegan restaurants and was super cool. We actually ate at his recommendations for the remainder of our stay. He booked our taxi for us the night before our departure and was very hospitable. 2. The hotel lobby is set up like a bar/lounge with a pool table and it's cozy. 3. I liked the use of musical instruments such as a drum stool for a chair in the room and the drum light fixtures in the room. It adds to the theme of the hotel. 4. It was walking distance to a lot of cool places. Negatives: 1. Amsterdam is an old city with cute old buildings. I get it. We stayed at another hotel which was also an old building (and had a very slow elevator; but still had an elevator). This hotel had nearly 90-degree stairs to carry 50 lb. luggage up four flights of stairs (we called them ladders). I could not imagine anyone with a disability or elderly ever staying there for their safety. Literally, the stairs were about 4 inches wide. I slipped on them. sober. 2. The clients mostly consisted of younger hipsters that we could hear stumbling in at night after drinks and the walls are paper thin. We even heard someone fart in the next room. 3. To drown out the noise of the other clients, my partner and I used a rain app on our smartphone so that we could get some sleep (let me add that it was currently pouring outside). We get a loud knock on our door, waking us at two o'clock in the morning by the nightshift employee, telling us to turn the rain sound down. This woke us up and we were literally trying to book a room at two o'clock in the morning at a different hotel due to his unprofessionalism. It's like, how about telling the clients that are actually making the noise to be more quiet? If you are a young and do not mind the paper-thin walls and the ladder stairs, the disgruntled night shift employee that patrols the halls for noise, and have minimal luggage, then I would recommend this place for the location. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.
