In fact, we took the bus to and from the airport and it was easy and convenient. Check-in was pretty seamless but our room wasn't ready. We explored the city and returned later in the afternoon. I cant remember what type of room we had but it was ok (just enough room for three people). I took a star off here because there was some wasted space that could have been better utilized. The staff was phenomenal. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and professional. We had breakfast every morning and it was good. The eggs were always made to order. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Amsterdam!

Lotti's also seemed to be out of a lot of the main dishes, even though the menu is already pretty limited. As for the rooms, they were okay, but felt a little worn and could really use some updating. Nothing terrible, but for what the hotel charges, I think you should be able to expect a bit more comfort and quality. After checking out the W Hotel nearby, which was much nicer for a similar price, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. For nearly $4500 after taxes for three nights in two rooms at the Hoxton, I honestly felt a bit cheated. Again, the front desk team deserves credit, but overall, I think the Hoxton needs to step up its game to justify these rates.

Situated on a canal adjacent to, if not actually in the Jordan area, super close to the Anne Frank house and walking distance to a handful of cafes, cocktail lounges, eateries, etc. Super easy to get buses/trams/walk to other neighborhoods as well and separated from the hustle and bustle so when you arrived back each night, you could leave the hectic nature of the day outside. The hotel itself is an absolute stunner. The blend of historic Art Deco charm and modern boutique touches is executed so well. From the grand staircase with red floral carpeting and stained glass to the dark, art-filled hallways, every corner feels photogenic. We grabbed drinks at the bar and restaurant area, and the ambiance here is elite. Magnificent vaulted arches, plush red and emerald velvet seating, warm brass accents, and massive stained-glass windows that let in incredible light. As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself.
