My parents and I stayed at Amsterdam Marriott Hotel from 6/1/24 to 6/3/24 on our final stop of our two-week long European trip. I was in room 1152 and my parents were in room 1135. Since my parents are Marriott Bonvoy members, both of our rooms were upgraded and we also had access to the M Club Lounge, but we only went for their desserts and light snacks. Pros: +Comfortable bed +Decent view +Amazing shower pressure +Robe and slippers provided +Coffee machine +Refrigerator +Fast Wi-Fi +Walking distance to almost anywhere we went to, plus numerous train stations +Quick check in and check out +They held our bags while we did our last day of sightseeing +M Club Lounge access Cons: -The bathroom's vent had a weird whistling noise to it -No microwave We had a great stay here and this will be our main hotel when we visit Amsterdam again.

Not sure how this hotel is rated 4 or 5 stars, it's closer to a 2 to 3 star motel or maybe a 4 star hotel in 1980s Cold War Eastern Europe. Moldy odorous hallway, scuffed walls and popcorn ceiling in-room; lint on pillow and blond hair on bath towel upon check-in (I'm not blonde), shower gel ran out the first night, sandpaper toilet paper, someone's leftover clothing tag on the shelf, shower that sounds like a lawnmower with issues, people screaming in the hallway at 3am. My Marriott status and corporate booking was supposed to provide a higher floor room with a view and breakfast--breakfast was not included even though it should have been, which wasn't a big deal since I ended up paying with my company card, but I'm attaching a photo of my "higher floor room with a view" for others to get jealous over (spoiler, it was second floor with a view of the roof and scaffolding). The only positive is the location, but then again you could also sleep outside in the vicinity.

We checked into room 543 for 5 nights. Our room has a safe, Nespresso, teapot, iron & smart television. The air conditioning was very cool, we appreciated the water pressure & our room was quiet. Our shower has 1/2 door and the bathroom gets pretty wet. A dim nightlight would have been appreciated. Olga, the concierge was very informative and helpful. She helped us organize our time, gave us a map and made recommendations. Kayla was personable, efficient & very helpful, she answered all of our questions, and surprise me with a tin of delicious Stroopwafels when we left. We have a complimentary breakfast daily from 6:30 until 11 am & evening bites from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in the M Club. Breakfast yogurts, cheeses, gravlax, breads, juices, scrambled eggs & potatoes were delicious. The evening bites were lovely. Salad, soup, candy, cheeses, spreads, nuts, chicken skewers, potatoes, wines, beer, sodas... were beautifully presented. Staff kept the tables cleared and foods neat & replenished. The fitness room has ellipticals, treadmills & free weights. With €7 we purchased tokens to use the washer & dryer with soap on the 2nd floor. The laundry room was clean, I could set machines in English, had various cycles to choose from & they were easy to use.

We stayed here 2 nights in their Balcony Executive Suite. The check-in line was super long, but it was worth it. The room was very specious, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was well designed. But I loved the balcony! Absolutely fell in love with the view from the room!! Another huge plus point for us was the location of the hotel...every tourist spots were almost in walking distance. The M Club Lounge was wonderful! They served so many different delicious items each day. Overall we had a great time here. Really want to go back again ^_^

Pretty comfortable hotel. Friendly front desk staff. They were very understanding for our last minute reservation modification due to an unexpected emergency and tried their best to accommodate us - I really appreciated that. The rooms have some art work flare to them and good amenities. It was walking distance from a few restaurants.

The Amsterdam Marriott is very modern and centrally located. It is literally just a short ten minute walk to all the museums; or a ten minute Über ride from the Anne Frank Huis. We found the rooms to be spacious (photos), up to date and very clean. We also had access to their M Club Lounge (thanks to Bonvoy Gold Plus Level) for breakfast, or a late day appetizer and drinks (photos). They have a nice retail shop on the first level, which contains collectibles (photos), as well as touristy souvenirs. Their house restaurant and bar Sorel's is first rate (see review and photos). If you are tired after you arrive, then you'll find it is a nice oasis to relax and have a meal or drink. All the rooms have US and European electrical adapters, so if you forgot yours, don't worry they got you covered. Btw, when we arrived in Amsterdam, they were in the middle of a period of high humidity and light rain. But don't worry, their AC made our room feel like a freezer. Nice!

Located in a great spot in Amsterdam, it is close to a lot of attractions. I had visited on business a bit ago, and had good memories, so wanted to bring the family here this time. This time, the stay was OK. The lobby is small, and usually there are lines for the front desk. There was no problems with communication, and our room was ready as promised. It's an older hotel (not historical, just old), with rooms that could definitely use some updating. We needed a room for 3, so got the 'family' room...which basically is just like a double...so it was a bit cramped. The bathroom had a tub, but is really meant to shower. The tub floor was a bit slippery when wet (couple times we had close call of slipping inadvertenly). There is a nice flat screen TV with a lot of different channels (many of them in English), and a breakfast nook with coffee maker and a small refrigerator. My experience was based on us being elite status with Marriott, which grants us free access to the lounge (M lounge). This really made the stay worthwhile. They serve a really nice breakfast in the morning, and have a nice happy hour service in the late afternoon. Various alcohol is offered, and and some hot options (e.g. meaty beef skewers...enough to make dinner out of it). They also have a section where you can create a 'cone' of snacks like nuts, gummy candy. So if you are higher status with Marriott, this might be worth staying for those benefits, but if you are not, would definitely look elsewhere...it's not worth 400 euros per night.

It is interesting how Marriott (except JW) and Sheraton are middle of the road brands in the US but are much nicer in in EU. This is a very nice hotel in the heart of Amsterdam right by the Rijks museum and the canals. The staff were super nice, they offered water to all the folks who were waiting to be checked in. The rooms, restaurant, and gym were all pretty good. Two thumbs up.

Had an amazing 2 day(and too fast) stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic. Right across the street from the canal, shopping and food. The rooms are big and clean, especially for Europe. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. And the M club is one of the best in the chain. Charles is a superstar and ran the M club perfectly. Do not hesitate to stay at this property for your Amsterdam visit!

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

You Get What You Pay For…read more I bartended for Hard Rock Cafe for 12 years. I love rock and roll, so when I saw this hotel it definitely jumped out at me. I will list the positives first since there are not that many: 1. The dayshift employee (cannot remember his name) was a very nice man. He recommended great vegan restaurants and was super cool. We actually ate at his recommendations for the remainder of our stay. He booked our taxi for us the night before our departure and was very hospitable. 2. The hotel lobby is set up like a bar/lounge with a pool table and it's cozy. 3. I liked the use of musical instruments such as a drum stool for a chair in the room and the drum light fixtures in the room. It adds to the theme of the hotel. 4. It was walking distance to a lot of cool places. Negatives: 1. Amsterdam is an old city with cute old buildings. I get it. We stayed at another hotel which was also an old building (and had a very slow elevator; but still had an elevator). This hotel had nearly 90-degree stairs to carry 50 lb. luggage up four flights of stairs (we called them ladders). I could not imagine anyone with a disability or elderly ever staying there for their safety. Literally, the stairs were about 4 inches wide. I slipped on them. sober. 2. The clients mostly consisted of younger hipsters that we could hear stumbling in at night after drinks and the walls are paper thin. We even heard someone fart in the next room. 3. To drown out the noise of the other clients, my partner and I used a rain app on our smartphone so that we could get some sleep (let me add that it was currently pouring outside). We get a loud knock on our door, waking us at two o'clock in the morning by the nightshift employee, telling us to turn the rain sound down. This woke us up and we were literally trying to book a room at two o'clock in the morning at a different hotel due to his unprofessionalism. It's like, how about telling the clients that are actually making the noise to be more quiet? If you are a young and do not mind the paper-thin walls and the ladder stairs, the disgruntled night shift employee that patrols the halls for noise, and have minimal luggage, then I would recommend this place for the location. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.
