I have zero complaints. The hotel was really nice. Our room was clean and comfortable. They added special little touches like complimentary chocolates, chips and drinks. The location is great. Very walkable. The train stops right outside. I would definitely recommend.

Gadgets by the entry door. Room key must be inserted in slot.

If you're a techie gadget freak who loves ultra modern decor, you'll probably love this hotel. If function is more important, you might give it 3 stars. Clearly I fall in the latter category. While I fully appreciated some of the best overhead bed lighting I've probably ever had in a hotel, I didn't like sleeping up against a wall. If that wall had been up against my husband's side of the bed, you'd probably be reading his 1 star review! I'm considerably more adaptable. The location is good if you're looking for someplace quieter than center city. We found ourselves walking 20-30 minutes to get to restaurants and wine bars. It's also a 20-25 minute walk to the museums. The tram to central station is across the street. The bar downstairs was very nice and so is the restaurant. The hotel puts a coupon in your room for a free cocktail at the bar, which is a nice touch. The electronic button by the door for Do Not Disturb & Please Make Up My Room in lieu of a doorknob sign is cute. You can decide if gadgetry is worth sleeping up against a wall.

Measure twice. Buy once. Someone wasn't paying attention.

I liked it, didn't love it. Maybe part of the reason is that we just had 2 great hotels on our last two European stops on this trip. Notting Hill wasn't the third. Not that it's bad. It certainly has a high tech charm, friendly staff, on site restaurant and bar, and is across the street from the tram to Central Station. You'd think that would be enough but the room was small, the bed up against the wall, the floor on the single elevator was a dark gray carpet that was filthy and never seemed to get vacuumed. If you have luggage (who doesn't) note that it's about 5-6 steps up from the street to get into the lobby. Since I picked the hotel based on reading reviews and without any first hand experience here, I would say that I was fairly well satisfied. I would have preferred s different location since many of the things I was looking for were at least a 20 minute walk. But on the bright side, it's a pretty quiet neighborhood.

I went to Notting Hill Hotel when it first opened. This is a great little boutique hotel in Amsterdam, and I would definitely stay there again. As soon as you walk in, you see the wall of luggages, which is neat from a design perspective. The hotel is very clean. The front desk staff are very friendly. The room was absolutely beautiful, really trendy and spacious. The bathroom was my favorite. Note: the door is see through. The big plus: It is away from the busy crowds of tourists that congregate around Centraal station and Dam square, but not that far from many attractions. From the train station, we took Tram no. 4 which was only a 5-10 min ride to the hotel. The hotel is also in the cool De Pijp neighborhood, where you will find many cool bars and locals hanging out. Also, it is 5 min away from the market, where you can grab a quick snack.

The…read morelocation is incredibly convenient--steps from trams and buses, close to the major museums, and within walking distance of high-end shopping like Chanel, Hermès, and Louis Vuitton. The hotel is very family-friendly, which made traveling with kids easy and stress-free. One of the biggest perks was the M Club Lounge, which offers daily breakfast and a comfortable space to recharge between sightseeing. Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

Everyone I interacted with there was professional, helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately, the good service at the front desk didn't extend to the rest of the hotel. The bar and Lotti's restaurant were both consistently understaffed, and the service was extremely slow. Lotti's also seemed to be out of a lot of the main dishes, even though the menu is already pretty limited. As for the rooms, they were okay, but felt a little worn and could really use some updating. Nothing terrible, but for what the hotel charges, I think you should be able to expect a bit more comfort and quality. After checking out the W Hotel nearby, which was much nicer for a similar price, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. For nearly $4500 after taxes for three nights in two rooms at the Hoxton, I honestly felt a bit cheated. Again, the front desk team deserves credit, but overall, I think the Hoxton needs to step up its game to justify these rates.

As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

You Get What You Pay For…read more I bartended for Hard Rock Cafe for 12 years. I love rock and roll, so when I saw this hotel it definitely jumped out at me. I will list the positives first since there are not that many: 1. The dayshift employee (cannot remember his name) was a very nice man. He recommended great vegan restaurants and was super cool. We actually ate at his recommendations for the remainder of our stay. He booked our taxi for us the night before our departure and was very hospitable. 2. The hotel lobby is set up like a bar/lounge with a pool table and it's cozy. 3. I liked the use of musical instruments such as a drum stool for a chair in the room and the drum light fixtures in the room. It adds to the theme of the hotel. 4. It was walking distance to a lot of cool places. Negatives: 1. Amsterdam is an old city with cute old buildings. I get it. We stayed at another hotel which was also an old building (and had a very slow elevator; but still had an elevator). This hotel had nearly 90-degree stairs to carry 50 lb. luggage up four flights of stairs (we called them ladders). I could not imagine anyone with a disability or elderly ever staying there for their safety. Literally, the stairs were about 4 inches wide. I slipped on them. sober. 2. The clients mostly consisted of younger hipsters that we could hear stumbling in at night after drinks and the walls are paper thin. We even heard someone fart in the next room. 3. To drown out the noise of the other clients, my partner and I used a rain app on our smartphone so that we could get some sleep (let me add that it was currently pouring outside). We get a loud knock on our door, waking us at two o'clock in the morning by the nightshift employee, telling us to turn the rain sound down. This woke us up and we were literally trying to book a room at two o'clock in the morning at a different hotel due to his unprofessionalism. It's like, how about telling the clients that are actually making the noise to be more quiet? If you are a young and do not mind the paper-thin walls and the ladder stairs, the disgruntled night shift employee that patrols the halls for noise, and have minimal luggage, then I would recommend this place for the location. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.
