Swanky and central hotel! Very cute decor from entrance to room. Lots of spaces for photo ops. Service was great, as the staff was very attentive during check-in. We were received with complimentary coffee or tea with small cookies. They also had a small bar of Tony's Chocolonely waiting in our room (delicious local chocolate). There are plenty of amenities that include: mini fridge, ironing board, iron, hair dryer, basic toiletries (nice lotion and soaps), slippers, and robes. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed having a convenient location to walk around the city. The hotel also provides bikes with an additional charge. They also have a restaurant for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. And an added bonus, especially for folks traveling solo, the hotel is only accessible with a keycard. When you are checking in a staff member will have to let you in. Very secure and appreciated!

Decent clean rooms. Great service. The Monet Garden Hotel was close to a Tram # 7 stop: it was an easy 20 to 15 minute jaunt to Museumplein.

The restaurant bar seemed very quiet and pretentious. We didn't try the restaurant, but we heard it was quite good. With a nicer room and more time in the city, I'd happily return. It's well located and easy to get around.

Since the cruise…read morecompany covered the cost of the stay, it's probably not a hotel we would have selected on our own given the rates. The hotel itself is quite unique, consisting of a collection of historic canal houses connected together along one of Amsterdam's beautiful canals. The property has a lot of character and charm that you won't find in a typical luxury hotel. Service throughout our stay was personable and attentive. The standout feature for me was the hotel's bar located toward the rear of the property. If you're a fan of Old Fashioneds, be sure to try their version--it was one of the highlights of our visit. One thing prospective guests should be aware of is the noise level. Due to the age and construction of the historic buildings, sound insulation is virtually nonexistent. We could easily hear noise from neighboring rooms and hallways, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs or consider another option. Overall, the Pulitzer offers a distinctive Amsterdam experience with excellent service and a fantastic bar, but the lack of soundproofing may be a concern for some guests.

At any rate, my experience was great. Tasteful and elegant deco atmosphere. People singing in the street at 2:00 am, but that's Leidesplein. Chalk it up as part of the experience.

It hadn't changed since Mata Hari (First World War female spy) had stayed there. As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

There is a safe available in the room as well, though there was no fridge. Loved all the snacks they provided, from the gummy bears in the room, to pastries and coffee in the communal area downstairs. They also provided a snack goodie bag on checkout though I forgot to pick mine up when I went back to pick up my stored luggage at the end of the day.
