What an excellent hotel !! Steps away from Amsterdam Centraal. This hotel is clean and the staff is nice. We got in quite early from our flight and by luck my room was ready when we got there. Check in was super smooth. I can't say enough about this hotel. Right now, 15/07/2021, food options in the hotel are not operating, it they're working with the restaurant next door for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This will be my go-to hotel when we visit Amsterdam.

One of the cleanest and nicest hotels near the center of everything. The have a good restaurant and a cute bar inside. Far better than most NH collections. Highly recommended!

Loved the Art'otel. It reminds us of the 21C in Louisville. Did Marsha's shady boyfriend steal their playbook? Perfect location. If you take the train from Schiphol to Centraal Station, you just walk across the street to the hotel. You can board trams, canal boats and buses right there as you explore the city. Staff can hook you up with attraction passes if you need them. Their concierge was great and provided us with a lot of good tips and insight. We had a big room at the end of the hall that faced the station. It wasn't loud at all. Relaxing king bed, desk and chairs, iron and board, safe, flatscreen tv, robes, slippers, soaker tub, rain shower, large sink area and an espresso machine. In short, all you'll need. Housekeeping was spotty, but nothing that would give us a moment of hesitation at returning for another stay. Breakfast was included at the hotel restaurant. It was the same each day, which could be shaken up for some variety. The dinner we had here at 5&33 was one of the best of our trip and not to be missed. Modern art touches all around the hotel and a lower level gallery to explore.

One of my most memorable meals. Amazing hotel. Amazing food.

I love this hotel. It's been two years since my visit and my friend and I both talk about it! The hotel itself is right across from the train station which was glorious when we arrived in the later evening via train from the airport. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The common areas were lively. It seems locals visit the bar for drinks and dinners. The food is amazing! I still want the octopus two years later. Yes the hotel has a sex theme which might offend some. I found it to be hilarious considering how close to the red light district you are. This is Amsterdam after all and sperm sculptures in the courtyard definitely make sense here. The rooms were large and modern. Added bonus for me as they had ABBA on demand which drove my friend nuts. The bathroom was mostly red glass and the amenities were nice. My only regret was not staying longer.

As good as it gets! I LOVE this Hotel. We stayed here for our 18th Anniversary mini world tour! Love Amsterdam by the way it is so beautiful. Side note: Coffee shops are cool. Get the sativa muffin :) Moving on, the customer service was amazing. Charlotte and Janise were so lovely checking us in, taking our luggage, whatever! Once we arrived, we needed ice of course because it was time to make a drink. As soon as my hubs opened the door to get some, there was a nice young fella at the door with 2 glasses of champagne for us. How sweet! Right outside of our window was a lovely view of the canals. This place is located in the Centraal area, thus is central to the whole city. Transportation, walking, canals, whatever. You can walk to Red Light, Bars, Restaurants, Boats, Bikes, and whatever you little heart desires. Kai at the bar was great and his hair is super cool. He even walked us from the bar directly to our table where we dined. I don't remember the meal much, however the service and atmosphere was good. All in all, I will return to this art'otel. Hopefully we will luck up with the same room.. That would be amazing.

Great toiletries!

Art'otel is the best. Just the best. We stayed here for two days, and it's literally one of my favorite hotel experiences ever! LOCATION The hotel is literally across the street from Central Station, so whether you're flying or training in its ridiculously easy to navigate to. While you're there it's walking distance from all your favorite Amsterdam attractions and a ton of great bars. It can't be beat for convenience. BREAKFAST You get free breakfast... I mean come on. I'm Asian, I can't help but love free stuff. The wait staff are all lovely, and you can pick through the buffet or have eggs made freshly for you! Slight warning- the omelette presentation is interesting but not offensive. The eggs are beaten heavily and then served by itself. All traditional mix ins are served separately. The coffee is tasty, but we agreed it was low in caffeine. But hey- it's free! ROOMS Man the rooms are fantastic. Gorgeous lighting, beautiful amenities and high end toiletries. No rock is left unturned! They have everything from Elermis q-tips and soaps to a lovely nighttime aromatic pillow spray. They even give you a mini Elermis lip balm! Need more towels? Our floor had a permanent toiletry cart so you can grab what you need at will. And the coffee machine.. Oh my. It was amazing to have fantastic espresso right in your room! The jasmine green tea was also amazing, I wish I had brought some home : ) STAFF Everyone we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. Like almost uncomfortably nice. They were seriously the best. CROWD It's funny because on Trip Advisor some people cry about how this hotel has identity problems, but I don't think so. The crowd is generally young and sexy, but it doesn't feel smutty. This is perfect for young professionals who are NOT okay with hostels, but who don't mind the cheeky artwork/nod to what Amsterdam is famous for. You are just steps away from the red light district, after all I can't say enough good things about this place. So so recommended if you're staying in Amsterdam!

Swanky bathroom!

Everything about this hotel and our experience here was 5 stars. As my husband said, they have a "yes" philosophy about service here. No matter what you need, they will try to find a way to accommodate your request. From the second we stepped into the hotel from our very short walk across the street from the train station, we felt the warm atmosphere of hospitality. The hotel looks very hip and fancy, but the attitude of the staff is not pretentious in any way. Our room was not huge, but it was well appointed. We were obsessed with the Illy espresso machine in our room. We were extremely impressed with the quality of the breakfast. Fresh squeezed OJ and the most amazing fresh apple juice I've ever drank along with whatever coffee drink I wanted was something we looked forward to every morning. The breakfast pastries were delicious. I've never been a fan of porridge (oatmeal), but the kind they make at art'otel is delicious. I'm sure it was made with full fat everything, but I didn't care. It was amazing! This hotel has spoiled us for all other hotel stays!

best bed ever!!

The hotel is very family-friendly, which made traveling with kids easy and stress-free. One of the biggest perks was the M Club Lounge, which offers daily breakfast and a comfortable space to recharge between sightseeing. Service was excellent from the start--we arrived early after an overnight flight and were pleasantly surprised to be checked in early, which made a huge difference after traveling. Clean rooms, great amenities, and an unbeatable location. Would absolutely stay here again, especially for a family trip or a holiday visit to Amsterdam.

However, during our stay, a guest in another room opened their door because they could hear people waiting on the elevator. Service: + Everyone is well-trained. Anytime a minor hiccup arose (room was not serviced one day), it was quickly addressed. Elite recognition: + No major upgrades available (NUA denied). Fully sold out hotel during our stay. + M Club Lounge was very nice. Had some of the longest breakfast hours I have seen (6-11am), but was essentially the same thing each morning. It got busy during evening hours (5:30-7:30pm), with some minor variation in food. Heineken (and wines) available during evening canapes. + When room was serviced, given a Tony's Chocolonely bar and stroopwafels in a nice tin. Location: + 25 minute walk to Centraal. Along multiple tram lines.

As we were visiting Amsterdam again I decided, on this trip, to spoil us a little. On booking I was a little concerned that the Hard Rock organisation had taken this hotel over. So with trepidation I took the chance. OK, remember, we are oldies so can be hard to please some tell us. On arrival, the outside hadn't changed other than the bar now stretched out a little and there was service from the restaurant outside. Reception was so swift by a fantastic bubbly young lady who sorted out a room although we were three hours before the normal signing in. I wish I could remember her name. Walking to our room I noticed the architecture hadn't changed but the decoration was wonderful with so much rock music memorabilia. We LOVED it. The room, overlooking the canal, was a lot smaller than years ago but, shrug, space has to be filled. The room was more than adequate with a wonderful bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast was in the dining hall which was a high-light years ago. I was so pleased to see that none of the wonderful art deco had been lost. The President Hotel in Prague had ripped it all out there, sob. Here, there was modernisation, but the windows, walls and lights remained. Obviously the designer had looked and thought 'wow, we can't get rid of this'. Good on him/her. A fantastic stay and on our next visit we know where to stay. Really wish I could remember that young ladies name because she made that day for us. Hi

As soon as my cab stopped in front, a man immediately came down the stairs to help me with my bag and escort me to the check in area. They asked if I wanted anything to drink and I said of course champagne! They gave me two! I checked in with Lisa who was amazing! She had me pick out a scent for my room. What? I didn't know that existed! Super fun! My room wasn't ready because I had booked late even though it was 3pm but I didn't mind waiting, especially when they gave me that 2nd glass of champagne. When I got my room, Lisa and Fae escorted me to the room to make sure I liked it and it was beautiful. I loved how the light came into the bathroom. On that note the bathtub was so nice I almost fell asleep in it! You receive welcome chocolates in the shape of Amsterdam shoes which were so cute and delicious! I ordered room service as the bar only served snacks and did not want to go to the restaurant by myself as it was really open. I got the Waldorf Astoria Burger which was amazing and so good! I'd go back to this hotel just for that burger itself. The next day I also had the breakfast and was able to get the whole tray of assortments and all the juices and coffee I wanted PLUS another dish! All complimentary with my Hilton Diamond status. I ordered the French toast and everything was delicious! Obviously I couldn't eat it all but was able to take some left to the room for later. I also had a spa appointment while here. Massage was great and the masseuse mentioned to see a physical therapist to help my lower back pain that I was complaining about as she said it was coming from my glutes, legs, knees. I've seen a couple of masseuses in the last two years in the states and one in Canada and NONE had ever even mentioned that that could help. I love this! Very professional staff. The spa also very serene with sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. They have a door to the garden which I'm assuming is beautiful in summer but I was here in February so it was freezing! When I checked out it was with Lisa again and she was great as usual and the guys helped me with my bags again when my uber came. They let me sit in the other room and said they'd let me know when it was here. Very nice. I did not want to leave. Haha!

You Get What You Pay For…read more I bartended for Hard Rock Cafe for 12 years. I love rock and roll, so when I saw this hotel it definitely jumped out at me. I will list the positives first since there are not that many: 1. The dayshift employee (cannot remember his name) was a very nice man. He recommended great vegan restaurants and was super cool. We actually ate at his recommendations for the remainder of our stay. He booked our taxi for us the night before our departure and was very hospitable. 2. The hotel lobby is set up like a bar/lounge with a pool table and it's cozy. 3. I liked the use of musical instruments such as a drum stool for a chair in the room and the drum light fixtures in the room. It adds to the theme of the hotel. 4. It was walking distance to a lot of cool places. Negatives: 1. Amsterdam is an old city with cute old buildings. I get it. We stayed at another hotel which was also an old building (and had a very slow elevator; but still had an elevator). This hotel had nearly 90-degree stairs to carry 50 lb. luggage up four flights of stairs (we called them ladders). I could not imagine anyone with a disability or elderly ever staying there for their safety. Literally, the stairs were about 4 inches wide. I slipped on them. sober. 2. The clients mostly consisted of younger hipsters that we could hear stumbling in at night after drinks and the walls are paper thin. We even heard someone fart in the next room. 3. To drown out the noise of the other clients, my partner and I used a rain app on our smartphone so that we could get some sleep (let me add that it was currently pouring outside). We get a loud knock on our door, waking us at two o'clock in the morning by the nightshift employee, telling us to turn the rain sound down. This woke us up and we were literally trying to book a room at two o'clock in the morning at a different hotel due to his unprofessionalism. It's like, how about telling the clients that are actually making the noise to be more quiet? If you are a young and do not mind the paper-thin walls and the ladder stairs, the disgruntled night shift employee that patrols the halls for noise, and have minimal luggage, then I would recommend this place for the location. Otherwise, stay somewhere else.
