I like ARCO gas in general, since it is among the lower-priced of the major companies. Costco and many independents can beat them in price, but the added convenience of the store is a deal-maker. This particular location is well-lighted in a very affluent neighborhood on a busy arterial street. Jeffrey Road leads directly to a FWY 5 overpass. The gas prices were OK, given the incredibly high current prices. However, the convenience store did not have any hot food for customers. One star off for that. So, sure I'm a fan when I'm not in the mood for some hot food. read more

The cheapest gas in Irvine, I've found it! The gem that saves me a ton of money, unlike the shady unscrupulous other gas stations that charge me an arm and a leg. Seriously, I've gotten so much bank for my buck here I'm impressed. Sure, you gotta look past a lot of the broken pumps or have to jimmy rig the nozzle to not turn off while pumping, but it's worth the cheap gas. Once you get used to the station you know which pumps are the best, and which aren't. Yeah, I know, sure I could get cheaper gas most likely at Costco. But I'm not willingly to wait a whole century for gas. So this will do. They've got a nice little step n go shop inside for munchies and beverages. Great customer service every time I go there, this place is ran properly. Carwash is great and convenient since its open 24/7. They never tell you the bathroom is closed like some other places do and are always clean. Coffee is fresh and they have 4 different options in the morning. This is a convenient gas station for me. The staff is friendly and most of the time when I come here, there's always a room for me to pump some gas. I remember one time when some of the gas pumps were having some issues, in which the gas oil was pumping really slowly and ended up overfilling the gas tanks. A gas attendant was kind enough in helping me wipe off my car and the pumps were fixed within a week. Also, I frequently come here for a cup of hot chocolate after getting gas. Beware of this AMPM, they employ some pretty sketchy people who try to rip you off. I've had issues multiple times now after coming here: 1. The first time the cashier told me the credit card machine wasn't working so I'd need to pay cash, however when I ran my card it worked just fine. My boyfriend said that he likes to ask for cash payments so he can pocket it himself. 2. The second time, another cashier charged me an additional $10 on top of my purchase on a second transaction when I only made one purchase. Had to file a dispute with my credit card. For starters... they sell scratchers here for people who enjoy that type of thing. I received a few scratchers for a white elephant gift from work and I won $5 and a free ticket. I came here to claim my $8 prize from my scratch tickets and some Indian worker with glasses had the audacity to tell me with a straight face that I can't get any more scratch tickets until I'm "21 or over". However, the scratch tickets said that I "must be 18 years or older to purchase, play, or claim", and I'm 20, so that makes me qualified to get some scratch tickets. I even had to go back to the store to show the rule on one of my scratch ticket, but the Indian worker refused to take my word for it. Getting in and out here can usually be pretty challenging. Today, I went to fill up... Pump 10 took SIX minutes to fill 9.5 Gallons of gas. This is a sad review. Everything here is always broken (the pumps for one) and falling apart. They don't seem to have towel or spray to wipe your windshield down, either. It's not a great GS, which is probably why no one has bothered to review it. I try to stay in the vehicle so I can't even comment on the inside. I gave it about 3 tries just in case I just had one exceptional bad experience, but the wash is too expensive for what it really does. But the real problem is with the owner/worker here. Older middle eastern guy. It was 10:30pm and I asked if I can get cash back and clicked on cash back on the card reader. And then all of a sudden and reaches over and presses cancels and starts grumbling something in his own language with "no cashback" here and there and tells me to go to the bank. What an a**. This may be the cheapest gas station in Irvine, but maybe you get what you pay for. I may never darken the door of the AM/PM on Jeffrey again. I stopped in at about 10:15 PM to get gas so I do not have to in the morning and all the pumps were off. So I went to go inside and there was a line out the door. One employee was at one of the cash registers counting change, not looking up and not helping any customers. Another employee was just standing there looking dumb. And then a third employee came out of the office and stood there talking to employee #2. So I said loudly, "What is wrong with the pumps?" I got a response of, "Oh, they'll be back up in 5-10 minutes." I replied to that, saying, "You just lost my business." I think they were changing the prices, which I believe should not happen until the station is closed, not during business hours. You do not take the pumps offline during business hours. Owner & Management at ARCO AM/PM Irvine, CA, Employee "Rohi" needs to be Fired, Investigated, & in most likelihood Deported from this country. I faced Sexual Harassment & upon rejecting his interests/advances, employee Rohi retaliated by refusing service after charging me $40, yelling (Verbally Abusing), & continued for 45 minutes of more Derogatory questions & comments. Even the police witnessed it & this incident will definitely hold in court as there were Violations on many levels. I'm surprised ARCO AM/PM would even employ these types of people. If you read through the Yelp reviews, clearly others have had similar experiences. If the owners of this gas station don't take actions, perhaps the law needs to step in. I was there last night at 1:15am. I asked for $40 in pump number 9. He charged me. While charging he was leaning in & asking personal questions: *What Nationality are you. *What Religion are you. *What are you doing out so late. My Answer: I'm just here to get gas & that's all. I was shocked. I was headed home from work, dressed in a business suit, very conservative, although that's irrelevant.. It was shocking how Rohi continued this form of harassment. Me saying I just want to get gas, thank you was somehow clearly upsetting him. I'm not sure why he thinks he has the right to ask personal questions & make women uncomfortable in the middle of the night. When I walked back to the pump, it was not turned on. I returned after a few moments to remind him. He was "socializing" on the phone chatting in another language. He yelled, "Okay! Go Now!" I was surprised. My reply, "Umm, okay. Can you please turn on my gas?" "Yeah Go!", was his response. Several moments passed as I waited. I can see through the window clearly that he was looking at me, on the phone, & purposely not turning on the pump. I walked back all the way inside the gas station, "Could you please turn it on? I'm waiting awhile now. Thanks." He once again ignored. By this time 7-10 minutes have passed. I was walking towards the gas station for the third time now. Rohi came to the entrance, showed his middle finger & motioned for me to come in & yelled, "You come in!" I was shocked at the way I was being treated. It felt I was in a third world country with no laws, nor rules. Then he said I didn't pump, so I should get out & go elsewhere. I stood there in awe for a moment. "No, I paid $40. Here's my reciept. I need to get the gas sir. Why aren't you turning it on?" The he asked how long I've been in this country. I was even more shocked & very uncomfortable at this point as he was also on the phone chatting in between talking to me. It was apparent he was talking about me in a derogatory way. Then he came near me (violation of personal space & bullying) & yelled, "You call your bank! You deal with bank! You don't like? You get out!" At this point I felt I had no choice but to call 911. He was also very rude & disrespectful to Officer Kim & Nguyen. Rohi decided to start counting money to avoid answering to the police. He then lied to the police & said he gave me a reimbursement receipt. Then he handed the officers a receipt of one dollar & some cents saying he reimbursed a dollar in my account & that I need to check bank. I explained to the police that I've worked in Ontario, CA all day & it's a 48 mile commute & that my tank in completely empty & that I need the gas & cannot risk it. Rohi refused service for 30 minutes until he finally realized that we can't leave. I was forced to run my card again & took $10 of gas & left as soon as possible. I normally come here during the day. The service has always been bad, but this is unthinkable, unethical, & felt more like Sexual Harassment & then refusing service after charging me $40, a retaliation to rejection his advances. I spend an average of $120 week here. That's nearly $500 a month & over $5000 a year. I will never give a dime of my business after this disgusting Inhumane experience. I will also make sure my family & friends never give this gas station business. This man must be Fired, & possibly deported if Illegal. Every now and then my wife and I stop at this station instead of the one across the street from us to get gas on the way home from work at night, and it's a pretty straightforward process usually. Tonight - a few minutes ago, actually - my wife stopped at this location alone and the person working the register accosted her, accused her of shoplifting and followed her outside. I understand that when someone is working alone in a convenience store, it's hard to keep track of everything and everyone, especially if you're at the register, but it's NOT cool to hound a customer until they either buy something or feel pressured to leave just because you have "something to do". It's DEFINITELY not cool to imply someone either has or is going to commit a crime because their presence inconveniences you. I'm sure you have something to do besides ring people up and whatever, but that is ALSO part of your job. If there aren't enough people to handle both, that's not on me or any other customer - take that up with management. There are ways to approach customers if you have concerns that don't result in me getting anxious phone calls in the middle of the night from a woman whose only crime is not being sure if we had milk or whatever at home. Have working pumps, be reasonably clean, and don't be too expensive. 2 out of 3 aint bad right? I would say about 50% of the time I go here, the card reader will malfunction somehow and force me to go inside and pay, at which point I have to give the cashier a specific dollar amount to charge. This becomes very inconvenient in the morning when there is a line of people inside getting coffee or when I'm riding my motorcycle and have to walk into the store with all of my gear. This Arco is located in the same shopping plaza as Kohls and a whole bunch of restaruants therefore depending on the time, this place can get a little busy. My issue with arco in general is that they don't accept most major credit cards only cash and atm. The usual drivers here are idiots but it is Irvine so that's to be expected. Get the punch card for drinks. Your sixth one is free. He insisted in booting me out the AMPM. The reason I asked him if I could stay in for about 5 minutes was because I rode 50 miles from Camp Pendleton and I was cold from my ride and did not want to risk hypothermia.
