You've been warned... don't let what happened to me happen to you. Two years ago I used ample movers for a local move within New Jersey. It was great I thought why not use them again for my cross country move to California. Big regrettable mistake. They'll give you a bunch of excuses because they rely on these reviews for business well I honestly don't care. May 17 they came to pick up my stuff when I wasn't going to arrive into California until June 15, was a bit early but they said this way they can store the stuff and then truck it to California and I wouldn't have to wait for my stuff to arrive late, ok I thought fine. I spoke to Jamal who gave me the quote for this move and just to save money I made sure I didn't have too many items. The total came to just about $3000 and because I was a repeat customer their idea of a discount was $200. Furthermore, they charged extra for stairs certain distances from the door to their truck all the little things that until it's the day of the move, you have no choice but to accept on the day the movers came. There were just two men. They loaded the truck. I made it as easy as possible with everything marked and labeled secured taped up really well packed. I put fragile stickers on everything that was extremely fragile, and I emphasize the importance of being gentle with these boxes, they took the stuff out and then I hadn't heard back from anybody for a few weeks so I reached back out to Jamal but Jamal wasn't the one answering me anymore. They were all these other people who now got involved Bill, Allen, basically whoever picked up the phone gave me some workaround excuse like: "we need to contact dispatch." "I need to check and get back to you.""Give me till tomorrow. " Give me till next week. Give me one more day until weeks went by. I already had flown to California and moved in my new apartment and the movers were nowhere to be found. every time I contacted the movers, They had some BS excuse or something to push me off another day another day and another day, where I spent over $1000 on things that I had already had just a survive in the new apartment finally two weeks after I had already moved in. I get a call from a dispatch driver Ivan who said it's gonna come either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday one of these days I'll let you know, then the day the move two men came, unloaded the truck and brought in all the boxes, and as you can see from the photos, attached boxes destroyed , fragile boxes, crushed, little stones embedded inside of the boxes that my small pets ate and got so sick thinking it was kibble. An item went missing (likely theft) plates of high value were shattered, my crockpot smashed. It was completely appalling. I called Ample Moving and spoke to Bill again who kept reassuring me over and over that they were on top of things we got the runaround again until completely. I unloaded after having missing pieces, damaged items, the worst customer service ever and no accountability from anyone when I threatened to post my review they kept trying to buy time to try and see if they can make this right, (with a 50 dollar compensation after trying to charge me 300 more dollars in California). Don't ever use these people. They are awful. They hide behind fake reviews and they probably compensate them for it. shame on you Ample Moving I'm reporting you to the Better Business Bureau as well. read more

I have hired MANY moving companies in the past few years. Local moves within the state, as well as cross-country, and moving is stressful enough the last thing you want is horrible movers. I've experienced pretty much every kind of nightmare with different movers, broken furniture, missing valuables, being completely ripped off, lazy workers, to blatant disrespect and so on. I say all this so you understand how terrified I was to hire movers again. Even before this move the last company basically broke all my furniture and were probably the worst. Then came ample moving. I didn't know what to expect, but when I did talk to Kevin to arrange the move I didn't make it easy on him. I was very clear with my expectations, what I will and won't accept, and he patiently listened to all my concerns and my past moving experiences. He reassured me repeatedly this would be different, they are professionals and strive to deliver the utmost in excellence. I was cautiously optimistic but told him I'll believe it when I see it. He gave me his direct phone and said call him even day of move if there were any problems but the workers will spend the entire time working, not messing about or wasting time. Even after we spoke I would think of something after combing through the charge and fee breakdown and he fully explained and put my mind at ease. Day of the move- Ivan and his team showed up around 9:30 am which was in the range agreed upon, he was very nice easy to talk to, and scoped the space and started carrying things out. I booked for 3 hours, and let me tell you, the speed and efficiency I saw was next level. They worked well together, climbed up and down 3 flights of stairs from my old apt to my new 2 story apt and didn't complain once. They wrapped valuable pieces in blankets, and even stuff I wasn't originally going to have them move like my 70" flatscreen TV I felt confident enough at this point to let them take it. That is trust, I always move some things I absolutely wouldn't let movers take and this time I let them move some of my most prized possessions. I couldn't believe how fast they moved without breaking stuff scratching walls or taking breaks. I tipped them all, and called Kevin after. I thanked him for coming through on his promise, and sang the movers praises. Guys- I don't like moving companies at all honestly they are horrible, but I would book these guys over and over and recommend them to anyone. The fact that on such a stressful day I didn't have to worry about the movers was worth it's weight in gold. Do your research read the reviews yes of course and if you have questions ask ALL of them it's your right and you need to feel right about it. Me personally, I was blown away.! I've used Ample Moving twice now and have had great experiences both times. I originally found the company through Thumbtack and have been impressed by their: 1. Customer Service - Alex called me within thirty minutes after I submitted a request to give me a quote on the phone, and I was able to work with him to figure out whether a flat or hourly rate made more sense for me. 2. Timeliness - The team arrive exactly on time at my door, and did not waste any time in getting started. I have had previous movers who have tried to charge me even though they were still getting set up, so I appreciated Ample Moving's promptness. 3. Professionalism - They've been great about quickly and efficiently packing my furniture and moving it so that nothing gets damaged. I've also had to move my stuff to storage, and they've provided great recommendations - without pressuring me to choose any - because they know the area and how to store everything properly. I read a few of the previous reviews, and can say that they did speak another language amongst themselves - but that didn't bother me, and it didn't hinder them from doing the job or speaking with me. The team at Ample Moving is the best I have ever experienced. I have lived in NYC for 32 years and have used movers many times, but this company is the best hand's down! From communicating with me, estimates, speed, efficiency, so friendly and hardworking! I recently had to leave NYC to move down to NC to be near my elderly parents and had moved most of my apartment from Manhattan to a storage unit, in Garfield NJ. Months later, I needed to get my belongings from Garfield to New Bern, NC- Without being there as well. Ample was amazing. They collected my stuff from the unit, stored it for me, and then brought it down without any hassle. They have an option where you can pick a specified moving date, and move or be more flexible with combined customers and move date, which I chose the latter. My move took no time at all when they got here, much less than I expected, they move fast! Alex and Kevin are in the office helping with logistics and Ivan and Mike with the move itself- the best team! I hired ample moving based on the yelp reviews and I was not disappointed. Everything went so much smoother than expected. George, Vadim, and team were so kind and willing to help, but more importantly, INCREDIBLY efficient. My husband and I were watching them work, noting how we could never do this alone, lol. We were out of our first apartment in about an hour. Amazing! Unpacking at the new place took a little longer than expected, and there's a pretty bad scratch on my floor, but other than that, I am extremely happy with how the move went! Also, thank you, Alex, for dealing with my many, many anxious calls confirming the move!! The quoting process and responsiveness were the best part of the experience. After asking for a COI, I received it in about an hour. Alex really cut down on a lot of stress. The pricing for Ample was better than all of the other companies I looked at, as they were having a special that included mattress bags, assembly and disassembly, and no long-walk fee (from the door to the truck). Simple, easy to understand hourly pricing. They did not try to up-charge anything at the end, the price was exactly what I was expecting. These guys rock! I had to move ASAP and all the companies that i called were busy or would charge me extra for last minute move. Not Ample, Stefan (the guy in the office) was prompt and made me a really huge favor. They were all booked but he switched me with another client of their in order to accommodate my urgent move. Im so thankful for just for that alone but this is not even all. The guys that moved my stuff were indeed professionals, they made this whole process so seamless that i didnt even got to stress about anything. The lead guy Alex, was on top of everything. He managed his team like a seasoned foreman. He delegated all the tasks to his team in a way that everyone were busy constantly. He streamlined the process and in turn it made the process very fast. As a result i spent less money than i expected and was quoted. I'm really glad i got to hire Ample moving. Thanks again. Next time i'm moving you will definitely be the 1st company to call. Ample Moving is the best among the rest! Believe me, I spoke with 32 movers in New York City and even a few movers from upstate NY. Ample moving is the only company that gave me the MOST AFFORDABLE quote and they did not charge me any surprise hidden fees for my move from NYC to Upstate NY. Alex was very accommodating. I originally scheduled a Sunday move but due to some problems in my NYC apartment, Alex worked things out and agreed to reschedule my move same day Saturday - without any additional fees. The team who helped me were Vlad, Michael, and Igor. They did an amazing job, wrapped everything, helped with disassembling/assembling and they were quick! They delivered upstate on time! I'm definitely recommending Ample Moving to everyone. All other companies gave me quotes that are unbelievably expensive. Some other companies gave me super low quotes but when I googled them they have really bad reviews wherein they wouldn't deliver your stuff unless you pay them more money. Wow, these guys. I moved from a 4br 2bt, two floor house in Northern NJ to a 2br apartment on the 2nd floor of a walk up in Brooklyn. Though I was stressed as all get out, they very calmly helped me pack up the things I hadn't had time to get to, safely packed my glassware, got it all in their truck, helped me move out a lot of items in the house that weren't mine but had been left in the house, AND reassured me that it was all going to be ok. The fact that they had a fourth person there, who came free of extra charge to me, was beyond anything I would have expected. Then they got everything into my new, much smaller place with room to still move around. They even unpacked a few of the heavier things to help me get started with settling in - and, subsequently, ended up fixing my bed, which someone else had put together incorrectly! There were a few little hiccups, but that really was more my fault being so disorganized than theirs. To be perfectly honest, they were the only thing about this move that was smooth and stress-free. Used Ample two years ago to move a few pieces of furniture down to my mothers house. Loved how they took a lot of care with each piece, were on time, and the price was fair for it being just 4 pieces of furniture. So, when it came time for my apartment move yesterday I decided to give them a try. They were on time (actually were able to be there a half hour earlier, but I wasn't ready!) they showed up exactly at 9, began working right away and literally never stopped. We drove the few JC blocks to the new building. We needed to wait about 15 mins for the broker to get my keys, and I let them know this assuming they'd just wait and take a break, they didn't! They just started unloading the truck and moving everything across the street in front of the building. They made every effort to put bins and furniture where they thought it should go and offered to move things around as I wanted them. Final price was EXACTLY what I was quoted, and I love that they quote for the first 2 hours and then it's billed by the half hour, which is awesome as we finished at exactly 12:30. These guys are fantastic- the shady movers I had booked for my move without much research cancelled on me last minute and I was a hot mess- all our stuff in boxes, a sick infant, elderly house guests, off taken from work, elevator booked at new building, etc. In a frantic state I called Alex and he answered at the first ring and said they had an opening! These guys were at my house in under 30 min despite the emergency booking, and very very professional and thorough. We are inexperienced movers having never moved homes before and had packed heavy items in large boxes which is the complete opposite of what you are supposed to do but Alex and team never complained a bit. Our entire move took a long long day partly because of the problems mentioned above and some pieces of furniture that posed difficulty in assembly but the crew was patient and did a great job. The crew who moved my possessions on Wednesday, February 26, 2015, exceeded my expectations and hopes. Aleksandr, the foreperson, Oleg, Matvey, and Maksim were punctual, pleasant and professional. They have a wonderful work ethic and truly care about their customers. They discussed their plans and strategy with me, and asked questions throughout, to make sure that they would handle every item properly. My mother gave me a beautiful, fragile, expensive china cabinet. They went to great lengths to ensure that the cabinet would survive the move, perfectly intact. Even though, with few exceptions, the rest of my furniture is mostly items I found on Buy Nothing Hoboken Facebook, they still handled them with great care. Aleksandr also knew that I was trying to keep my costs down. He ended the move at a certain time, only after making sure that they had addressed the most challenging issues. Mathus (?, 'Max') the foreman, and Alex of Ample Moving provided amazing support and service throughout our stressful move from NJ to NYC. Alex was extremely easy to get in touch with and is responsive both online, over text, and on phone calls. He was able to handle my short notice move, AND when my new unit was unable to let us in that night, Alex and Ample quickly remedied the situation and were able to store my stuff at their warehouse. Max and his crew were extremely professional and caring during the move out from NJ and the move in to the new place in NYC. There were many tight corners and spaces, but they handled it well without damaging the new unit or any of our boxes and furniture. 10/10 I would book with Ample again. Their prices were reasonable and upfront, their service was great, flexible, and they seemed to care about doing a good job. (NOTE: I moved from Jersey City, NJ to Elizabeth NJ - and I don't know why it says San Francisco CA where I lived 35 years ago with NO option to change the location). The first half of my move took place yesterday, May 5, 2018 and the 2nd half will be on May 29. Ample moving is AWESOME! The foreman George was very friendly and took charge of the move with his crew of 3. He assessed everything that I wanted done, and went about doing it with extreme efficiency - even fixing the foot/leg massage section of my shiatsu massage chair that had inadvertently gotten knocked out of alignment, and he would not stop until he had fixed it - which he did with precision. They even came in under the quoted price for the move. These guys were cordial and amazingly efficient, even after having to walk up two flights of stairs at my new apartment destination in Elizabeth. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat, and I can't recommend them highly enough! George and crew ... You Rock! read more

I was looking for a reliable yet cost effective company to move locally from my one bedroom apartment to a house. I found Ample movers and they filled the bill nicely. They called me to ask preliminary questions like the addresses and a rough list of items that will be moved. I was given a quote and I placed a deposit to save the date. On the day of the move, Karen, the foreman, and his crew arrived on time and was ready to work. They safely moved my furniture including a 65" OLED TV (which unfortunately was an extra fee to move but understandable due to its unique dimensions and fragile nature) from the apartment to the house in a timely manner. They were very nice, respectful, and polite as well as hardworking ensuring each piece of furniture was well protected prior to moving it. The guys were fast and punctual. Eugene was the lead and he was helpful. However, I think they broke the lamp cover and didn't want to say because it never found its way into my apt and it's not in my old apt. I called and they said it wasn't on the truck either. It didn't disappear so I assume it shattered and they didn't want to fess up. Next time, just say something. Also, if you're looking for a moving company that puts stuff in the right places, they might not be for you. They rushed and put stuff in wherever without asking where. Okay for me because my apt is small but just a heads up. Anyway, check all of your stuff as it's coming in and make sure everything is there before you settle up. UPDATE: Alex reached out to rectify the loss of my lamp. Customer service like this from a moving company is rare. Recommending to all my friends! read more

Ample Moving did an amazing job on our move. We had a very short window to move since we sold and bought at the same time so needed it to get done fast. Ample Moving was able to not only accommodate a last minute time change (and not give us any problem), but they showed up a little before the appointment time to get started! We really appreciate the punctual team that took care of our furniture and home like their own. Every piece was wrapped and unwrapped as expected and nothing got damaged in the move. Electronic communication was a huge part of the experience. We were able to get everything done over email in a more effective and efficient way, as they were extremely responsive and accommodating. all right, so it was the moving day last weekend, I was nervous a little and was feeling that something gonna go wrong. the moving company I ordered to help me with my stuff didn't come in time, I made a call and they said that they are extra busy tonight and not coming. like what?! being in rush I started to look up for a new moving company that could help me ASAP and thanks god I finally found Ample moving!!! their manager Alex called me and approved that they have guys right now in Hoboken, NJ that could help me with moving. they came fast and started to do their job really quick, they were packing my furniture carefully, such a high qualificated workers, I'm kinda in love rn with Ample moving :) I really recommend you guys this company, they are super nice and doing a good job, thank you Alex, you guys are the best! read more
