We worked with Amos Productions (DJ and decorations/lighting) for our wedding. Firstly, the staff at Amos productions are so friendly and responsive. They always gave us options and quotes promptly when we asked, even when it came down to the wire (Melissa and Michael Gilmore). The lighting and set decorations we rented from AMOS productions made the venue look so beautiful. Michael seems very familiar with most of the venues in the East Bay and gave us amazing suggestions to make the reception look good while still being attentive to our budget. DJ Kevin was our DJ for our wedding. I cannot say enough good things about DJ Kevin. From the get go, he was on top of EVERYTHING. During our meetings, he helped us organize and time our entire day (music, activities, timing, setting). It's very obvious that he has DJ'd a ton of weddings but he is completely attentive to your needs and tastes. Even when we made changes last minute, DJ kevin accommodated all of our needs and integrated everything. Our ceremony was absolutely perfect, he timed all the music perfectly and made the atmosphere so beautiful. He MC'd our ceremony so well, making all the guests feel comfortable and aware of activities/locations. DJ Kevin was very attentive to our taste in music and curated the MOST AMAZING dance floor. I thought I had a good idea of what i wanted, which he took into account, but mixed the songs SO perfectly and also added in absolute bangers in between. We had guests age 9-90 dancing all night. Everyone was so disappointed when the night had to end. If we had to do it all over again, we would work with DJ Kevin without a doubt. The site was well organized, and Rick walked us through all of the steps needing to be done, checking back in regularly and ensuring that everything was in order. Rick listened to us and made sure to accommodate all of our requests. On the day of, Rick kept everything in order, making announcements and guiding guests appropriately. The music was in-line with whatever we discussed, and Rick also made sure to help us with last minute changes due to changes in schedule. We had an amazing experience with Amos Productions for our wedding, especially with our DJ, Kevin! He was absolutely awesome--super professional, friendly, and easy to work with from start to finish. We used Amos Productions for DJ and photobooth services for our wedding at Poppy Ridge Golf Course. DJ Rick was absolutely fantastic! He was so easy to work with and kept us on track both leading up to and during the big day. He was very organized, professional, and incredibly approachable, which made the whole process stress-free. He was always very responsive and his attention to detail definitely showed. As for the photobooth services, we appreciated the ability to customize our photostrip template, which added a fun and personal touch. Communication with Steve during the planning process was smooth and easy. However, the photobooth experience itself didn't quite meet our expectations on our big day. The onsite tech didn't engage much with us or our guests, so the experience felt more passive than interactive. Additionally, the camera had shifted upward and wasn't adjusted for the final few photos. We hired Amos Productions for our September 2023 wedding at The Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton, CA. Their client portal on the website is so organized, making it so easy for us to start inputting any songs we had in mind. We had the pleasure of working with Rick and he was absolutely the best! He scheduled multiple video calls leading up to wedding to go over all the details - timeline, song choices, ceremony order, etc. He took very detailed notes on what we wanted and gave us great ideas for things we hadn't thought about yet. He was very professional but also lots of fun to be around! Our ceremony went so smoothly and the timing of the processional was exactly what we wanted! He also knew exactly when to transition into the next activities of the night (ie. speeches, dances, announcements) and watched for our cues to move on. During the night, we had lots of songs that we inputted ourselves into the client portal but Rick also added in songs that perfectly matched our vibe. He was very receptive to what our guests seemed to get most excited about and even took several requests. We got lots of great feedback from friends that were on the dancefloor all night! The treatment we received from this company was so disgusting that I've put off reviewing them for a long time. Every time I thought of reviewing them, the reminder of the experience made me too upset to write a review. I hired them for an event and everything was great at first. They assigned a DJ that I liked and it seemed like everything would be fine. A while later, I checked the online customer portal they gave me and saw that a new DJ was assigned to me. No one ever called me to tell me that they were changing the DJ. They just did it and if I hadn't checked I would not have found out. I visited the Amos office to ask about the change, and they told me that the original DJ was booked out to another event so they couldn't assign him to my event anymore. The new DJ wasn't even listed on the Amos website. I suspect they found a third-party DJ and dumped him on me. Just like that, Amos decided my event wasn't as important and couldn't even give me the courtesy to tell me about the change when they made it. Since there was nothing I could do, I had to accept the new DJ. A while later, it was time to meet the DJ in person. Amos handled scheduling a time and location for us to meet. The DJ showed up to the wrong address. It turns out that Amos gave us different addresses for our meeting. I had to wait 30 minutes for the DJ to drive to the correct address. On the day of the event, the DJ shows up with blown speakers. The speakers were making a rattling sound the entire time. It was embarrassing and made it seem like I hired the cheapest DJ possible. The DJ also brought a friend with him (definitely not an assistant) and they spent the entire time drinking alcohol while he was working. This was likely the cause of him exhibiting some unusual behavior. One example was that he kept spamming the DJ horn sound. Even after I gave him a gesture asking him to calm down with that horn, he kept doing it. He was doing it at the most inappropriate times and it just made things weird and uncomfortable. Every time he played the horn, many guests would look at him as if they were surprised he was still doing it. The entire experience with Amos was a nightmare and I regret hiring them. Don't let them ruin your event like they did to mine. Edit: Amos reported this review to Yelp as an attempt to silence my complaint. Shame on you, Amos. We hired DJ Jeff and the Photo Booth for our wedding at Garre Vineyard on August 10, 2024. Their client portal was organized and easy to use. Jeff scheduled a couple of phone calls with us to go over our wedding day timeline. Overall, he was really helpful and did a fantastic job! There were a couple of mistakes that occurred on the day of which happen but were slightly frustrating since we talked about them prior. (Mistakes were not changing the song for bridesmaids/flower girls walking down the isle he just looped one song when we had two, announcing our bridal party at the reception when we were just doing a bridal bomb, bouquet toss wasn't supposed to happen it was being given to my mom). Throughout the night Jeff gauged the crowd and kept the party going the entire night which is exactly what we wanted. The photo booth was great although the only thing that upset us was prior to the wedding. I had emailed trying to get a head count for food and was told there would be one tech. The day before the wedding the tech emailed me saying there would now be two techs since they were training. Not a big deal but planning a wedding we needed the numbers 2 weeks prior so was frustrated getting that email. I would highly recommend Amos Productions for your wedding day or event. Amos Productions did it again! 13 years ago, we hired Amos/DJ Rob for out wedding. The way he worked the crowd made the night unforgettable. Fast forward to now. We were looking for a DJ for a birthday party and while we talked to some self-employed/less expensive options, we decided to go with Amos because of our experience last time. For a birthday party, our budget only allowed for a Level 3 DJ but we got upgraded to DJ Randy, a Level 1 DJ, and he was also phenomenal. He called 1 week prior to get some planning/logistics discussed. The day of, he arrived early because he didn't want to arrive mid- event even though he wasn't going "on" for a few hours. And he made himself totally helpful during that time! He wired up an extension cord on his own to help move an evaporative cooler so that guests would be more comfortable during dinner! Totally not his job but he did it! He had a fantastic idea to get everyone on the dance floor, gathering everyone to sing happy birthday then transitioning to the dance music. Throw in some glowing sticks and we had a party. My sister loved the play list so much, she asked me for it. 5% me, 95% DJ Randy, I said. He helped organize our day even down to the announcements he would make and at what time. One of our biggest worries was having an empty dance floor and when we say that he got everyone dancing, we mean it! I could not be happier with Amos Productions and specifically with our DJ/MC Michael. We got married a week ago today, and are still talking about how happy we were with Michael. He met with us multiple times before our wedding to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. He assisted us in uploading all of the songs we wanted, and he went over the timeline of the day with us. We felt like he knew us well and knew exactly what we wanted. Michael kept things right on schedule, but he also was flexible when we needed to make last minute adjustments (due to our aging parents). Big Disco Party for my annual Volunteer Appreciation Party, 115 volunteers, Staff and Board Members attended. Due to Robert's wonderful lighting effects and expertise as our DJ, the room was filled with blues, pinks and purples. Along with my Wall Lights and centerpieces, the room was transformed into a 1970's Discoteque, it was amazing! Robert was so knowledgeable and met all my expectations, the music was perfect too! We were able to review multiple DJs in order to find one that would match our "vibe". Moreover, the music selection platform was so easy to use! If a song was missing, we could easily add the YouTube version. I've been to too many weddings where the wrong version of the first dance song was played - but not at ours! The dance floor was never empty and so many of our guests commented on our fun playlist. The photo booth was also a hit! There were hundreds of layouts to choose from- ensuing that it fit our theme. I will say, Amos Productions was great--always so responsive and their platform looks old school, but was soooo organized and handy!! But RICK!!! Ok, so I've had some really horrific AV experiences before, since I've been doing events for 14 years. Everything from "oops I can't play the sound on your movie" (1 minute before showtime) to "oops we didn't account for enough power to run all our screens so your slides and movies are going to display weird or not play at all for the entire show" (a few minutes before showtime). Gotta say that Amos Productions has been THE BEST AV Company I've worked with in 14 years and that mistakes and excuses like those are NEVER in their playbook. Amos Productions served as our AV Company at my previous 2 major events and they ROCKED IT. At one venue, they had to work around very strict rules and limitations but the way that they handled everything you would never know it. At the other venue (my Gala with 300 people), they nailed every single element of a show with lots of moving parts - and they did it while also helping me problem solve my own stuff (like I forgot to order a lectern for the stage and BAM, within the hour they materialized one for me!! seriously!!). I am a perfectionist and write very detailed scripts and materials and they came alongside me on every aspect of it, following along masterfully with every cue and every detail. And the man who made it all happen for me at Amos on event day and in prep calls? JD (John Darling), Production Manager. He approaches everything like it's his own event and he takes the utmost care in ensuring he has every detail nailed for AV. Wonder who got me that lectern like magic? JD. Who worked around the venue's crazy rules? JD. Who actually enjoyed me hyperfocusing on minutiae and was right there with me because he is a perfectionist too? JD. He has the confidence, experience, and expertise to deliver big time. I would not trust my AV with anyone else. Also, I'd be remiss if I didn't shout-out Michael Gilmore, GM, over at Amos. He worked on the ordering side with me and took all those panicked calls on the first event, as well as my pie-in-the-sky Gala ideas. He's consistently kind and gracious and put me at ease. He has a super mellow vibe that I appreciate during those initial stages, and he handed me off at the perfect time to JD when it was time to ramp up. He also made sure I got JD assigned to me again for my Gala when I asked! From this point on, the only reason I'd use a different AV company for my events is if the venue locks the AV - otherwise, I'm going to JD, Michael, and Amos. read more
