Great DJ, extremely poor customer service -- proceed with caution We hired Ace Entertainment, owned by Rob, for our wedding at Nella Terra Cellars in May 2025. We booked him way in advance--February 2024, well over a year before our date--because his reviews consistently said he was a great DJ. And to be fair, on the day of the wedding, he truly was. He knows how to read a crowd, hype up a room, and handle a mic. However, the customer service experience was by far the worst out of every single vendor we hired, and that's where everything fell apart. 1. Communication Was Nearly Nonexistent After our initial call and making our first payment, Rob completely vanished. I reached out every couple of months with simple questions and updates, and he would leave me on read for months. The only time he ever replied was after receiving his next payment (we had split payments into three). Each time a payment went through, he responded... and then ghosted again. The only reason we finally heard back from him close to the wedding was because our wedding coordinator had to chase him down and tell him to contact us regarding playlists. Otherwise, I'm not sure he would have reached out at all. 2. Last-Minute Meeting... and He Forgot About It We finally got a call scheduled about two weeks before the wedding, and even then, he forgot about the meeting. We ended up calling him, and it was obvious he was busy doing something else and had no idea we had a scheduled call. He gave an excuse involving a family death, but considering this same ghosting behavior has been mentioned in reviews dating back to 2023, it's clearly a pattern--not a one-time situation. 3. Promised Items Were Missing Rob apologized and offered free LED light sticks and the hydro gun, which was a nice gesture. But then the Photo Booth had zero props, despite him stating that props would be provided. Guests noticed, and it definitely took away from the experience. 4. Only Vendor We Had Problems With Out of all our wedding vendors, Ace Entertainment was the ONLY one who caused stress, uncertainty, and headaches. Every other vendor--venue, catering, photography, florals, coordinator, transportation--was smooth and reliable. With Rob, it felt like we were doing all the work just to get minimal communication. He never reached out on his own. Not once. 5. Not Surprised He's No Longer on Preferred Vendor Lists We're a little nosy--and based on the venues we toured, Ace Entertainment is no longer on any of the preferred DJ lists. After our experience, it honestly makes sense. TL;DR Rob is a talented DJ and people at our wedding loved the music and energy he brought. But the customer service is extremely poor, communication is almost nonexistent, and it was a constant worry whether he would even show up or follow through. Great DJ. Terrible communication. If I could give a lower review, I would. Working with ACE entertainment + Rob was probably one of the most disappointing parts of the entire wedding planning process. Initially, we had picked ACE entertainment from a list of preferred vendors and when we had our phone call with him we really liked his vibe and thought he could execute what we wanted - we were wrong. After putting down the initial payment, we didn't hear from him until ONE MONTH before our wedding date. We would have meetings set up and then no response. We would reschedule them and wouldn't have them. He said he was going to send over something regarding a program to upload songs or something. Never happened. He eventually sent over the wedding planner form and after I did no response until I had to constantly text him multiple times before our wedding date. Our wedding planner had to intervene because I just wasnt getting the response I wanted. There were some changes I wanted to make - I had a surprise voice memo and there was no point in time where I felt confident that change happened. I had to have my wedding planner confirmed with the DJ THE DAY OF THE WEDDING to make sure my voice memo would be completed. Also, we didn't even know who our DJ was till the week before and didn't even speak w the DJ until RIGHT BEFORE OUR GRAND ENTRANCE. Frankly, don't even remember his name, Jude? We also paid for a 3 person staff in which we saw NONE of it. We also rented a photobooth from them (our mistake as well). It said it would include props, boomerangs, etc. there was nothing of that nature included in the photobooth. We had also paid for a ground sparklers to be used during our grand entrance and first dance & they weren't used. We have emailed ACE entertainment multiple times since our wedding asking for a refund and have not heard back. All in all, the day still went seemingly well and the DJ played all our music that we wanted to be played. My Wife and I wish we could give Rob a higher rating but there were too many cons that outweighed the pros. While choosing our wedding venue, we found Rob on the list of the venues preferred vendors. Based on his social media, it appeared that he really knew how to get a crowd going and have fun. That is what ultimately helped us choose him. We will say this, Rob is an amazing DJ and definitely knows how to get the crowd going. He definitely understands what it takes to make events lively and we appreciate that. However, there are quite a few things that made for a poor experience. From our first meeting, Rob was late and we were left waiting for his call. But people are human, things happen. No big deal. However. once he did call, his attention did not seem at all focused on us. By the end of the meeting we were still left with many questions and it took some time to get them answered. We chose to go with his Gold Package. This included a 3 Person Staff (MC,DJ, Sound). 6 hours of service. Ceremony, Cocktail Hour, Reception set-ups. 4 Hour Digital Spade Photo Booth Package to include: Up to 4 Hours of Photo Booth - Digital Photo Booth - Variety of Props - Our exquisite Spade booth offers Video Messaging, Photos , Gif/Boomerang - Customized Gallery for guests to look at the event. Rob did not contact us about any plans, designs, song choices etc until about a week before the event. We tried getting in contact with him for over a month but it was not until we asked our event coordinator to reach out to him since he is a preferred vendor for the the venue. We went over song choices after finally getting a hold of him but needed to finalize a design for our Photo Booth print outs. He told us he was working on something new and would send us examples. We did not hear back from him on the examples and did not see what the design looked like until about 3 hours before the event. What was also frustrating was that we did not notice any other help during the event. We did not see this "3 person staff" which was said in the package. No one was stationed at the Photo Booth. No props for the Photo Booth were available. Many photos from the booth came out blurry. What was finally the last straw for us was trying to get digital copies of the Photo Booth. Within the same week after the wedding, we asked for digital copies of the Photo Booth. Rob assured us he would send it but this went on for months. Our wedding was August 2024, and until now, we still have not received the digital copies. We reached out about once a month asking for a follow up and Rob kept saying he'd send it over but still has not. Ultimately, his level of professionalism is what warranted the rating we gave. That said, I don't blame the venue at all, as they had no involvement in the poor service we received from Ace. After reviewing all the DJs on the list, we decided to go with Ace since we had already met Rob at a bridal fair hosted by our venue. When we met Rob, we were initially impressed with everything Ace had to offer. He was friendly, engaging, and made us feel like we had known him for years. We had a long conversation with him where he reassured us that if we booked with him, we wouldn't be disappointed. He even encouraged us to check out his Instagram to get a feel for his style and past events. After looking through his page, we were sold on the hip-hop, Bay Area, reggaeton vibes he showcased and decided to book him immediately. We loved how he got the crowd hyped, and that's exactly what we wanted for our wedding. After booking, Rob had a phone call with me where he outlined the booking process and assured me there would be three detail meetings prior to the wedding to ensure everything would go smoothly. While I knew Ace had other DJs, we specifically wanted Rob to DJ our wedding, and he reassured me that he would be there and that everything would be just as we imagined. As the wedding day approached, we hadn't heard from Rob or his team regarding any of the planned meetings. Panicked, I reached out via email and phone, but received no response for days. I followed up, and finally, Rob replied asking for my availability, but then went silent again. Feeling stressed, I had to ask our wedding coordinator to intervene and get in touch with him. She was able to reach him, and Rob called me to apologize, explaining that his team should have contacted me. He promised to send over the wedding planner form and schedule a meeting. I accepted his apology and told him I just wanted to make sure we had at least one meeting before the wedding. Rob explained he would be at a destination wedding two days before ours but reassured me he'd be back in time for our event. However, Rob missed our one and only detail meeting--and didn't even bother to reach out to apologize. We were left stressed, but figured he would still show up or send another DJ in his place, since we had paid for the service. The morning of the wedding, I texted him to confirm, and he responded that everything was good to go, which eased some of my stress. But then, on the day of the wedding, Rob failed to inform us that he wouldn't be there and was sending a replacement DJ. This was the least he could have done. On top of that, the contract clearly stated that we would have a 3-person staff, but only one person showed up, meaning we were charged for two additional vendor meals for people who never even arrived. Our contract also mentioned a custom backdrop and multiple props for the photo booth--neither of which were provided. Instead, the photo booth was placed in front of a plain brick wall. I reached out to Rob directly to express my disappointment and request a conversation to address the issues, but once again, he went silent. Despite multiple attempts to contact him, he chose to ignore my messages. While our wedding itself turned out great and the DJ who showed up did a great job, the entire experience with Ace Entertainment was incredibly disappointing. There were so many avoidable issues, and it's frustrating to have trusted Rob despite the clear communication problems. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event, and I never expected to deal with such unprofessionalism. I would never want any other couple to go through this. I saw a few negative reviews before booking but chose to move forward because the majority of reviews were positive. Late review from our wedding in October 2022. We hired Ace Ent because our wedding venue required we use one of the two DJ companies on their preferred vendor list. One of our friends also used this company, so we felt like Ace was a safe choice. The initial calls and interaction with Ace went smoothly, but that was about it. Here's a list of everything that went wrong: 1. As our wedding date got closer, it was getting a little more difficult to get in contact. No show or late to our scheduled and rescheduled calls. 2. The DJ announced the WRONG NAME when he intro-ed my husband for our reception entrance. No one acknowledged this mistake or apologized. 3. We paid extra to have a photo booth that prints. We received a digital-only photo booth and when we asked for a refund on the extra charge, they offered to send us the digital photos to have printed out ourselves. We paid extra because we wanted our guests to have the prints to take home. & instead of providing a refund, they ghosted us. 4. We did NOT allow guests to request songs, which we hear after our wedding that the DJ did in fact take song requests. This explained why a few songs played were a completely different genre from what we wanted. 5. Wrong song played for my bouquet toss. We also learned after the wedding that the DJ we got for our wedding was added last minute the night before our wedding. This could explain all of the mishaps. We hired Ace for DJ, photobooth, uplighting, and "dancing with the clouds" for our wedding at the Club at Ruby Hill in Pleasanton. We had a couple in person/phone meetings with Rob who helped assure us that our wedding would be top notch. DJ services were used for the ceremony and reception. We chose several songs to be played at certain times of the evening and every song was played at the right time! We can't thank Ace enough for for this because music to us is everything to capture the moment. The uplighting, patterned lights, and monogram lights just brought the venue to life. We chose pink rose uplighting and with the white walls it just looks like a wedding dream. The "dancing with the clouds" was the perfect touch to our first dance. Pictures came out beautiful for this moment. Photobooth with gif was fun for the guests and props were provided. This self operative photobooth is really unique and easy/fun for guests to use. Rob also was a great MC and got the crowd hyped for the grand entrances, program, and during the dancing portion. I had sent Rob a timeline of events for the wedding and he executed the events with ease. Rob and his crew set up on time and had everything going as planned. We hired Ace Entertainment in November of 2021 for our wedding in June of 2023. We knew with people rescheduling postponed weddings due to covid that securing vendors could be a challenge, so we started early. We met Robert at a wedding fair in Santa Clara. He made us feel very confident about hiring Ace Entertainment; they offered DJ and photo booth packages that seemed to fit our needs so we signed a contract for the Gold Package with 2 additional hours of the Spade Photo booth and paid the deposit. Unfortunately, this is the last truly positive experience we had with Ace Entertainment. There was no communication whatsoever unless I reached out and asked what steps needed to be taken. A little more than a month out from our wedding date, we still had not heard from Ace about any details of our wedding, so I reached out. They sent me a stock email asking me select a time and date on a pre-scheduled calendar for a phone meeting. Someone from Ace called us on May 10th, although they never identified who they were, and spent about 15 minutes basically reading the outline/schedule that we had previously filled out and had emailed once we scheduled the meeting. We were told at this meeting that we could put together a Spotify playlist of requested songs, we also had put together a playlist for the pre-ceremony music we wanted, so we texted both links to the phone number of whomever we were discussing our wedding with (again, he never mentioned his name) and were told that we were all set. On June 7th, I reached out to get the names of the employees who would be working our wedding so that we could add them to our table arrangement. They replied 2 days before the wedding with the names but the signs had already been printed. At this point, with how little communication was happening, I was genuinely worried we would not have a DJ at our wedding. The day of arrived and the people working the wedding did an ok job (I do not know their names as they never introduced themselves) but they definitely did not do what they said they would do. They did not play a single requested song from our playlist!! They also played only 1 slow song the entire evening, which was the last song of the night that my husband and I had picked out specifically for that moment! The song our parents walked down aisle to was started earlier than it was supposed to, our processional was not even lined up yet. So a part of the song played that was never intended, which completely changed the tone of our wedding. We actually had guests ask us about the song because it became so abruptly wrong for the occasion. Additionally, despite the fact that they knew we had someone doing a reading, only the officiant and the groom had microphones which were lapel mics, so only part of the reading and part of my vows were heard. They also did not provide any accessories with the photobooth as we had been told! To be perfectly honest, it felt like we were not an important client to them because we didn't spend more money. You want to make sure that the Dj is comfortable enough that he knows your name by heart. **The dj made a huge mistake and announced our names wrong (and I'm talking about a name that's not even ours) This mistake alone would've knocked this review down a few stars but Pierre apologized and owned up to his mistake right away and so did Rob. As a business owner he made sure that our voices were heard. My husband and I just wanted an apology, really. And Rob sincerely apologized and owned up to their mistakes. -your wedding is not the only wedding that they are preparing for so they might have multiple weddings on the same day. So right from the beginning, just make sure to talk about who's going to be your dj that day. -your wedding venue has to have a back up mic. Or just make sure you have a separate back up mic on your ceremony and run a mic test. -for small technical issues, just close your eyes. Going by all the different ratings, all I can figure is, they pick and choose who to provide great experiences for. After booking Ace, they were very hard to reach for confirmations. We asked for EDM for our wedding, got a hip hop set I couldn't stand. Had a whole bunch of song requests prior to our day of, were promised all of them, not one was played. And there were a lot of songs that had special meaning to us and our guests. Robert and his staff CAME through!!! There was a mishap with our venue decor set up (won't go into details here), but Robert and his team came prepared, lighting was amazing (compensated for the lack of decor), photo booth was so much fun and he KILLED it with the music and MC! Great dance tunes all night, kept the procession of the wedding reception on time, and took a million requests I'm sure. Let me start by saying that Ace Entertainment did a good job at our wedding . I booked them for dj/mc for the whole wedding , and my guests loved the music . Robert got the crowd hyped during the grand entrance and through out the reception .I also booked them for the white dance floor with decal , which turned out amazing ! With that said , the only problem I had was that communication with them was difficult . Originally , I was keeping in touch with Jaymee. It took me awhile to get the documents (COI , vendor agreement ) for the venue. I had sent him the design for the decal a couple of months before my wedding . And three days before the wedding , Robert asked for it again ( not sure if they communicated that between one another) I would email Robert with a question and it would take him awhile to reply back , or sometimes he won't answer at all . About one month before the wedding , I reached out to them to set up a meeting to go over everything . The meeting literally was less than 5 mins haha. I wish he could have been more friendly . I also paid for 3 vendor meals , which the contract stated that there would only be 2 staff . When I met him in person he was more friendly and everything came together so I can't complain :) read more

Honestly I was excited about having these guys do our wedding. I met Robert at a Bay Area Wedding Fair and was impressed by his charisma as MC. He really got the crowd going; he had brides and bridesmaids go up and do some dances, the cupid shuffle, the wobble and and something else. Then he got grooms and groomsmen up there - I thought we'd be doing something similar but it ended up being a dance-off. It was pretty epic. My fiance "won" $300 and I won $500 worth of services for participating. We were pretty happy until we actually tried locking this in. Okay, first: You don't get any solid pricing information from these guys. The website says that they build unique packages for each event but I think it's their way of keeping you in the dark. Ultimately you have no idea if you got a better or worse deal than anyone else who hires them. This is how my experience went down: - I sent an email the very same evening (Sunday) stating that we "won" $800 worth of services to make sure we were locked in. No response. - I called on Tuesday to check in. He said he remembered me and that we could work something out. We scheduled a Skype call for Saturday. - On Saturday we had the call and it went well. We talked details and services for our wedding but there was no price breakdown. Ultimately he said something like, "okay considering the discounts, this and that, blah blah, I could do this for about $1300." Casual, sure, but we were ok with it. He said he would send me an agreement to sign that very same day. He didn't. (this was Saturday of 4th of July weekend) -Tuesday (July 5th) I called to check in. He apologized, "it was a crazy weekend". I said, "it's cool I had a crazy weekend too" and he agreed to send us the info that same day. He didn't. That kind of communication/ service does not fly with me, ESPECIALLY for my wedding. By comparison the company I booked responded to my emails and questions within hours. From first contact to signed contract it only took a few days. In looking at all the great reviews, I might be one-in-a-hundred cases for Ace-Ent. We booked ACE for our November wedding and Rob was super attentive right from the beginning and through the whole process. He was AWESOME. Listened to all the things we wanted, got the crowd crazy hyped, and truly made it a night we are never going to forget. 10/10 would recommend to any other couples!! This review is for Robert. My husband and I booked Ace Entertainment about 14 months in advanced to our wedding. About 3 months before our wedding date I hadn't heard anything or received any emails on organizing the music and the final details, so I reached out via email (heard nothing) so I decided to call him and he said he would email me a document with all the info we needed to fill out for music. We fill it out and I sent it to him.. didn't hear from him.. so I text him to see when we need to meet up or finalize everything with a last meeting, his response was "we can do it a couple days before the wedding" ??? A little concerning but went with it. We finally get on the phone with him and he seems a bit scattered and unorganized. We go over everything and right before we end the conversations he asks "when you booked me as your DJ were you under the impression I was going to be your DJ?" I replied umm yess??? He then tells us he had 4 weddings that day and isn't sure who's wedding to choose. We were so confused on why that was even an issue having been booked for more than a year in advanced. My husband actually knew someone who worked for his company so we asked if he would be available and Robert said he would make that a "priority" and that we would be well taken care of.. I felt better after the conversation that we would taken care of. WRONG! Day of the wedding the DJ for the night introduces himself and it is NOT who we were told was going to be our DJ. I didn't want it to ruin our day so I let it go. As the night went on one of my bridesmaids told me he was asking her for a timeline on when we wanted to cut the cake, first dance, daddy daughter dance etc... WHY ON EARTH did I fill out paperwork if you aren't going to use it?! And on the paper it asks if there are specific songs you wanted played, we had a long list of songs we wanted to dance to and not ONE was played. My husband then asks the DJ to play a song and his response is " the bride and groom aren't taking requests) UM HELLO HE IS THE GROOM!!!!! I will say the DJ did play good music and it was a good time but super disappointing that what we wanted played wasn't. The package (which was $2,800) we paid for included a photo booth! In the contract we signed we were told we would be given a link to design our photo strip and get all of the photos taken that night. We were never sent a link to design our strip and after our wedding I had to basically beg Robert to get our link with multiple emails (no response) and text messages until he FINALLY sent it. I sent him a final text with our experience hoping for an apology and didn't get one. For someone who has been in the business for "20 plus years" he should really work on his customer service skills. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else in need of a DJ because I would never in 6 million years recommend this company. read more

I hired Ace Entertainment for my wedding a few weeks ago. Given the time of year we had our wedding, they gave us a generous discount, which was really nice of them. Our DJ/MC was DJ Francis. He was INCREDIBLE! From the minute we were connected via e-mail, he was quick to respond and answered any questions that I had. Before our wedding, he sat down with us for over an hour to talk about how we wanted everything done, gave us suggestions for songs, etc. It was great. When the wedding finally happened, everything went so smoothly! He was such an energetic and fun MC. At one point, he even got his mic and got on the dance floor and danced with everyone! He brought so much energy to our special day. I can't thank him enough. If you hire Ace Entertainment, definitely ask to hire Francis! You will not be disappointed. The only reason I'm giving Ace 4 stars is because I think they really need to work on their organization and communication. They should really respond to client emails within 24-48 hours. That caused me some stress during the wedding planning process. It would take 1-2 weeks before I received a response to a simple question. DJ Francis had excellent communication skills and was great, but some of the other people I communicated with were not good at responding. read more

Save yourself the trouble and do not hire Ace entertainment!!! Ace Entertainment (Mr. Tinoco) is unprofessional, unorganized and shouldn't be in the business of "Big moments" in peoples lives. I had a difficult time trying to get in touch with the DJ. Results; wrong ceremony song, bad (DJ) choice of pre- ceremony music, the music that I had requested for the dance reception wasn't played or any other genres of music I asked for. Batteries in microphones didn't work (a three time effort). Announced the wrong name of the mother of the bride. DJ's getting their food with the guest (not before or after the guest). My frustrations and disappointment could had been avoided if Mr. Tinoco would had communicated with the DJ's and myself. It is so unfortunate to have everything run so well and then to have this issue. Music is a big part of the wedding celebration. read more

I had the privilege of working with ace entertainment for my wedding this past weekend. Dj Petey was so amazing, he continued to keep my guest engaged and excited and had all the energy I was hoping for in my emcee. I met with him and the owner Rob plenty of times prior to our date to ensure everything was ready to go. They even put together a mashup mix for my husband and I, but unfortunately the hubs decided he wasn't comfortable with dancing after all. The up lighting thay was set up was perfect and spaced apart perfectly for the room to just have some added color and really brought it to life. For the biggest day of my life, I only wanted perfection. Perfection was what Ace Entertainment provided for my wedding day!!!! Robert and Adam are rock stars at what they do. Robert had all of my guests on the dance floor rocking all night the music was HOT and Adam captured all of the beautiful memories of our special day. I can't say enough great things about these two gentlemen and their company, Ace Entertainment. If you're looking for someone that's going to cater to your every need and I do believe they have the best prices in the bay area then you should really look them up.
