One of our all time favorite pizza places! Always a good meal. Never had a bad experience!

In the little small town of Amo, Indiana is Amo pizza. The pizzas here are amazing. The first time I seen it was on Fox 59 and Sherman was doing a segment on them. They were talking about the Around the World Pizza. The large pizza weighs 10 pounds. Well we couldn't eat a large so we got a medium 12 inch well we couldn't eat it 16 pieces,we ate 5. next time we'll go for the small. There is so many topping and it's thick. ( look at menu to see) They have indoor seating and outdoor seating. There is a little grocery store inside also, but you can't go wrong on their pizzas here. Absolutely the best pizza! A little out of the way for us and bit pricey but worth both.

This is a place that you just don't stumble across and either you live in the local area or it is your destination. It is well off of the beaten path. You will find it in the small town of Amo, which prior to today, I never heard of. It is a general store and pizza shop and in addition to its pizza, they sell ice cream, drinks, beer, wine coolers, chips and other light snacks. There is free street parking on the street in front of the store and a parking lot for the nearby trailhead within a reasonable walking distance. They have a few tables located in the back of the place to sit and eat. I just got my food to go. The guys working there during my visit were very friendly and helpful. As far as their pies go, they have a few signature pies or you can build your own. I went with the All Around the World signature pie. I called in my order ahead to save time. It takes about an hour, give or take to prepare their pies, so, I highly recommend calling ahead like I did. When I picked up my order, I knew that I was in trouble. It was heavy. I got a workout in taking the pie to my car. I drove to a nearby park, where I at my pie. It was delicious and packed with toppings. It was very flavorful and had everything but the kitchen sink. On second thought, it may have even had that too. I did not even put a dent in it. I had dinner and lunch for the next day. The pie was well worth the 40 minute drive it took to get here. I highly recommend checking this place out. You will be hard pressed to find a better pie. They have high quality food and excellent service. read more

Great pizza close to home. Owner run business and they really care about customer service. Eat in or take it with you. Even have a little general store in case you need pop or chips or a sweet to eat. Hope to help keep them in business for a long long time. Oh and after your pizza just a couple doors down get an ice cream at Cup and Cone. Same owners. read more

Heard about Amo from a friend and decided to make the drive to try it out. It is west of the city and the drive is very easy and almost no traffic (went on a Friday night). I reached out on Facebook and asked how long call in orders usually take and they said it depends and it may be easier to call earlier in the day and let them know what time you will want to pick up. So that's what I did!! I called around 3pm on Friday to have ready around 6:30pm. We got there and it was ready and felt like it just got out of the oven. We went with 2 personal size pizzas this time and a side of breadsticks. SO GOOD. I think next time we will get a bigger size for sure because we want leftovers! Okay, read the earlier reviews on this place and I am shocked that we could have such differing experiences! My husband, cousin and I just left this pizza place and couldn't be happier in our food comas. This place is charming! There was nothing, in our opinion, cheap about about these pizza's! We live in the Greenwood area and drove up here as my husband is from this quaint town. We had the Amo Deluxe, Pesto Pizza, hot ham and cheese and Bosco sticks! We were in heaven eating all this food! The crust is awesome and taste similar to McQ's or Gallaghers on the Southside, and piled high with toppings and cheese! Great place! They give you lots of toppings and lots of cheese. We enjoyed the pizza and the staff was super friendly! I send them a Facebook message earlier in the day and pre-ordered pizza to pick up for dinner, they had it ready at the time I requested. They get busy on the weekends and the wait is sometimes long, it it's delish! Not really a sit-down place though, so carry out is probably it your best option read more

Y U M M Y This is a staple of the town. My family drives from terre haute to get this pizza. It's pizza unlike any other NOT your typical flavorless pizza! Once you order they do provide coupons on your pizza box to come back. Under new ownership! The Amo Pizza and General store recently became under new ownership, so we had to come back and give them a try. Upon our arrival, they were apparently having problems with the cash register up front. That was the hot topic of conversation before our orders were even bothered to be taken. There are two tables in the back of the establishment where you dine in. One is a small booth for two and the larger might accommodate four smaller people. The young lady who was making pizzas finally took time to stop and take our order. They were busy, in her defense. But still, both she and another young lady were complaining wayyyyy too much about the cash register situation. While I watched the activity in the kitchen, I was disappointed to see that their breadsticks came out of a bag. Then I watched our pizzas start to be made...with premade crust. I wasn't very hopeful that this would turn out to be much. Our pizzas arrived approximately twenty minutes later. No big deal. We didn't order ahead of time. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and substituted pepperoni for ham. It also had bacon and pineapple on the pizza. Yup. I'm one of those pineapple on pizza people. They did not skimp on the toppings, and the crust was surprisingly not too bad. What would I recommend/change about the place? Pay attention to what you say around your customers. They can hear every word you say while they are seated outside of the pizza-making area. Also, since Amo is in the middle of nowhere, I would highly recommend offering free wifi to your patrons. The young lady who was making the pizzas complained the in order to reach owners and managers, they also had to step outside the building to make those phone calls in order not to tie up the phone dedicated to customers. I know that at least on an iPhone, you can make phone calls over wifi. That would be a huge game-changer for both your customers and your employees. They are still working out the kinks of the ownership transfer, so I am going to give them a bit of a break. I would go back here in a bit and try them again. read more

There was 5 adults & 1 child trying out Amo Piazza for the first time. It will be our last. Everything was ULTRA CHEAP. From the crust to the sauce & toppings. Amo pizza used to be our go to living in Coatesville but the last two times the orders were wrong and we were told would be ready to pick up in 45 minutes and when we get there it hasn't even been put in the oven yet. read more

Drove all the way from Irvington on the east side of Indy to Plainfield to do some antique shopping, and then on to Amo for pizza. Their pizza lives up to it's reputation. Had a nice surprise as my son now lives near Amo and we had AMO Pizza for the first time. We ordered Pepperoni Sausage, Meat Lovers, Ultimate Bread Sticks and Regular with Cheese. The Pizza was amazing! It is very Chicago Style and very tasty and the Ultimate breadstick is called ultimate for a reason. You will not be a disappointment. Wish they had a chain of restaurants. This place is in a little country town, not near any major roads, hard to find but well worth it. The pizza is really good, with delicious chewy thin crust, tasty sauce and plenty of cheese. If you're ever near the metropolis of Amo definitely give it a try! read more

This is a great pizza!! They don't skimp on the toppings I call this a TALL pizza. Most of the time a TALL pizza has a wimpy crust. Not this place. The crust was perfect and crunchy even with all the toppings. The bread sticks were fluffy and delicious. Another note, IT WASN'T GREASY!! This pizza had more toppings, tons of meat lots of cheese and veggies and wasn't greasy with crunchy crust. Drive here, do it get a pizza, if you eat there just know they only have a couple of tables because they are predominantly carry out but I would buy it and sit on the sidewalk and eat it if I had to. We made our first trip to Amo pizza last night and the pizza was hot, fresh, loaded with toppings and amazingly tasty! It was a very clean and friendly place. It is under new ownership and the new owner is striving to become the best pizza in Hendricks county. They sincerely want your feedback so that they can always strive to improve. Not sure what happened to Amos pizza. It use to be the best pizza in the county. tonight we ordered a pizza we were told that it would be ready in 30 to 35 min. We got there 40 min later and they had not started on our pizza. there were 2 people working no pizzas in the oven. this is the 2nd time this has happened in the last month. the pizza before that was overdone and had very few toppings. Been coming to Amo's Pizza since I was a kid. Live out of town now but always a must stop when I'm in the area!!!

The pizza kitchen is a tiny operation in the back of a general store, but don't let that fool you! We stopped here after a long bike ride on the nearby Vandalia Trail when we were really hungry, and we weren't disappointed. Our personal pizzas arrived piping hot on crisp thin crusts, and everything was fresh and delicious. The eat-in area consists of two small booths that would seat about six people, so it's better for take out than for large groups. The servers were warm and friendly, as well. Last, but not least, there is a Pokemon Go gym across the street at the Amo Post Office. Definitely stop in if you can! read more
