    Personal size pizza

Heard about Amo from a friend and decided to make the drive to try it out. It is west of the city and the drive is very easy and almost no traffic (went on a Friday night). I reached out on Facebook and asked how long call in orders usually take and they said it depends and it may be easier to call earlier in the day and let them know what time you will want to pick up. So that's what I did!! I called around 3pm on Friday to have ready around 6:30pm. We got there and it was ready and felt like it just got out of the oven. We went with 2 personal size pizzas this time and a side of breadsticks. SO GOOD. I think next time we will get a bigger size for sure because we want leftovers! The price is extremely reasonable and I was very happy with the whole experience. Will definitely be going back!!

Okay, read the earlier reviews on this place and I am shocked that we could have such differing experiences! My husband, cousin and I just left this pizza place and couldn't be happier in our food comas. This place is charming! There was nothing, in our opinion, cheap about about these pizza's! We live in the Greenwood area and drove up here as my husband is from this quaint town. We had the Amo Deluxe, Pesto Pizza, hot ham and cheese and Bosco sticks! We were in heaven eating all this food! The crust is awesome and taste similar to McQ's or Gallaghers on the Southside, and piled high with toppings and cheese! We were supposed to go next door for ice cream, but we were too stuffed...another road trip

Hawaiian pizza with pepperoni instead of ham

Under new ownership! The Amo Pizza and General store recently became under new ownership, so we had to come back and give them a try. Upon our arrival, they were apparently having problems with the cash register up front. That was the hot topic of conversation before our orders were even bothered to be taken. There are two tables in the back of the establishment where you dine in. One is a small booth for two and the larger might accommodate four smaller people. The young lady who was making pizzas finally took time to stop and take our order. They were busy, in her defense. But still, both she and another young lady were complaining wayyyyy too much about the cash register situation. While I watched the activity in the kitchen, I was disappointed to see that their breadsticks came out of a bag. Then I watched our pizzas start to be made...with premade crust. I wasn't very hopeful that this would turn out to be much. Our pizzas arrived approximately twenty minutes later. No big deal. We didn't order ahead of time. I ordered the Hawaiian pizza and substituted pepperoni for ham. It also had bacon and pineapple on the pizza. Yup. I'm one of those pineapple on pizza people. They did not skimp on the toppings, and the crust was surprisingly not too bad. What would I recommend/change about the place? Pay attention to what you say around your customers. They can hear every word you say while they are seated outside of the pizza-making area. Also, since Amo is in the middle of nowhere, I would highly recommend offering free wifi to your patrons. The young lady who was making the pizzas complained the in order to reach owners and managers, they also had to step outside the building to make those phone calls in order not to tie up the phone dedicated to customers. I know that at least on an iPhone, you can make phone calls over wifi. That would be a huge game-changer for both your customers and your employees. They are still working out the kinks of the ownership transfer, so I am going to give them a bit of a break. I would go back here in a bit and try them again.

100% hated the crust. Ate the toppings and they were pretty good. I don't see the best pizza in central Indiana.

Their pizza is fabulous. So thick with the cheese and your add-in's. Tastes great! Wish there was a little more eat-in room.

Thus, I'm also trying to snag a few more reviews before my life returns to a bit more normalcy. I'd been curious about Danville's Two Guys Pies, a sister restaurant to The Beehive located in the same two-storefront strip center at the corner of Main Street and Indiana Street. Parking is a little tight here in a parking lot behind the restaurants. There are a couple accessible spots including one with a small aisle to allow for safe exit for wheelchairs. The parking spot is directly across from the building and there's a pretty good concrete ramp. I have noted there are times when longer vehicles block the somewhat narrow sidewalk just a bit. The last time I came to this building, I went to The Beehive and looked down and realized that Two Guys Pies would have been blocked had I wanted to go there. There's a couple glass doors. The dining room includes a bar area, a handful of traditional tables, and a few more booths. I really only saw a couple smaller tables (which I tend to take since I'm often dining alone), however, I was able to snag one. Two Guys Pies obviously specializes in pizza, however, they definitely have a more extensive menu. They advertise having the best salad bar in Hendricks County. There are appetizers, wings, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, calzones, rollers, bombs (I will admit I have no idea what bombs are), a kids menu, daily specials, family specials, and more. There's also lunch specials from 11am-2pm. I ordered a 7" pepperoni pizza (essentially a create-your-own option) along with two breadsticks along with unsweetened iced tea. The breadsticks came with cheese (I don't know if marinara was an option - this was delivered automatically). The pizza was definitely a thin crust. It was quite good and I would easily order it again. The menu says it comes with eight slices - just be aware it is only a 7" pizza. Those "slices"are smaller. The breadsticks were good, though I'm not sure I'd order them again at $2.99. You can order larger quantities. The service was welcoming. I enjoyed watching the atmosphere. It's clear it was a mixture of regulars and some maybe not so much so. The servers seemed relaxed with the customers. I liked that one older customer dining alone, in particular, seemed to get some definite human connection. The dining room has large windows. There are five widescreen televisions - all were showing sports, though there was some variation. I enjoyed this experience. You could also easily park at the town square and make it the one block east to Two Guys Pies. Service was great, the food was good, the prices were fair, the atmosphere was welcoming (though at least two kids acted like they'd never seen a wheelchair or an amputee before) and I'd easily return. While my time in Hendricks County is winding down, at a hard time in my life after my father's death I've enjoyed getting to know this small town a whole lot more.

To be clear, Frank's wouldn't be five stars if located in a suburban or urban area but for Danville- it's solidly a great option! I've always found the restaurant designed well & to have friendly and attentive staff. The food is very good- I thought the chicken parm was delicious. The only thing I would change is how they prepare the "Antipasto Salad," it would be much better if they served this as a chopped salad vs seemingly throwing whole pepperoni slices, tomato slices, etc on the lettuce. Tiramisu was also wonderful. Frank's is Paul's pick for when in Danville IN.
