Stumbled upon this place with a work travel dinner group while researching places to eat and couldn't be happier with our experience! Staff was attentive, place was stunningly designed, food was terrific, and we even got to meet and get recommendations from the chef on top of meeting the owner as well! Anything you order is a fantastic experience and you won't be disappointed. Very happy we chose this place and would definitely make it a point to come back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

We are out-of-towners and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ammoora last night! The design and esthetic of the place is clean and delightful, the service was wonderful by Jamal, and the food was excellent. Never have I ever had dishes with such complex flavor profiles - sweet, tart, savory, and spicy all in one dish. My absolute favorite thing I had all night was the muhamara. I could have eaten like 4 bowls of it, I promise. If I had to pick a least favorite item, it would be the house hummus, which wasn't bad but which paled in comparison to the other starters we got including muhamara, haloumi cigars and mfasakh batenjen. We were honestly quite full after the starters so not everyone got an entree. One of my colleagues got the salmon mojarmashe and I got the short rib freekeh. The short rib itself was super tender and served with a mushroom gravy on the side. It was served atop frekeh risoto, which was my second favorite item of the night. This risoto again was so complex in flavor - pine nuts, spinach, golden raisins, pomegranate, mushrooms. Ah, it was so yummy! I finished the meal with green mint tea, served in a beautiful cup. The tea was strong and bitter, which is just how I like it. I would highly recommend giving Ammoora a try - it's quite the experience. read more

Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Amazing service. I highly recommend Ammoora. It isn't just dining. It is an experience.

Great atmosphere. Excellent food. A bit pricey. Great for a date or a special dinner. Will go back. One of the few places in Baltimore we have visited that lives up to NYC standards. read more

It's been awhile since I posted a review, but this place was so good I just had to. Food was excellent and the portions were good. The sides were meals in themselves. Service could have been better, but we had a large party so totally forgivable. Highly recommend! read more

My husband took me to Ammoora for my birthday last week. I was excited to try it as we have been looking for new restaurants to eat at since moving back to the area. I am a big fan of Mediterranean food but this overall missed the mark. Our group ordered the salmon, lamb shank, steak, and lobster dishes. Out of all the dishes the only one that would be worth having again was the lamb shank. I thought the salmon lacked flavor and my sister said the same for her lobster. We had the chicken rolls appetizer and those were packed with flavor and came with a sauce that complimented them. We also ordered a platter with sauces and pita bread. It was something our waiter suggested as we asked about which dip to order. To our surprise 5 small dips and pita bread ended up being $50. In that moment I quickly realized this place was more vibes and less food. It's definitely going into the category of "instagram restaurants." It's perfect for the aesthetics but the food just didn't cut it for Mediterranean. read more

Delightful evening spent at Ammora celebrating nuptials and birthdays. Eight of us sat in one of their coves which felt like a private space while providing ample opportunity for good people watching. Service was perfectly timed and each dish was beautifully presented. The Levantine cuisine was better than any we tasted locally. Try all the first courses and rely on the waitstaff for advice on main entrees and desserts. Creative cocktails made the experience Five Star! read more

We recently had dinner at Ammoora and the interiors were pleasant and different, reminding me of a trip to Malta. Unfortunately, the food was WAY overpriced and although tasty, portions were minuscule and disappointing! My husband ordered a double Gin and Tonic and they were $38/each, my beef shish kabob was $42 and it was only 3 pieces of 2" beef??? Been there, done that, don't need to do it again. read more

Excellent food, excellent service (Clyde), wonderful desserts. I had the Kofta Kawaz with lamb, which was so flavourful--the only thing I would suggest is including rice with this dish--I ordered rice as a side dish, and it was delicious! read more

We recently visited Amoorah for our anniversary, and it was a very disappointing experience. My wife and I have enjoyed many nice restaurants in Baltimore and were excited to try this one based on friends' recommendations, but it turned out to be the worst. Despite making a reservation well in advance, we were seated outside the main dining area, right next to a loud bar and the entrance. The noise was unbearable, as we were essentially in a hallway with constant foot traffic. The staff was unresponsive to our request for a table in the dining hall. The entire experience felt chaotic and far from the relaxing evening we had hoped for. I can't even comment on the restaurant's ambiance or decor because we were seated just ten feet from the hostess stand, with our view being the entrance door, valet, and bar. Others might have a better experience since only a few tables are placed outside the dining hall (which I don't understand the reason for). If you're lucky enough to be seated inside, you might enjoy it, but I personally won't be taking the chance again. read more

My wife and I love to try high end restaurants and have been excited to try the food at Amoora! We took advantage of restaurant week to visit and loved our experience from the amazing service to the beautiful atmosphere to the delicious food! Their Za'Atar Honey Burrata appetizer was our favorite also tried their chicken kabobs and salmon, and would highly recommend their lemon dessert! Would recommend in our top 3 of Baltimore! read more

I can't stop coming here! Time after time we are WOWED by the food, service, hospitality, and ambiance. Every part of the menu is above and beyond. The mezze - so tasty, many vege-friendly options. The entrees - very filling and cooked to perfection. The cocktails - a charming twist on middle eastern flavors. The dessert - TO DIE FOR, the Laymouniyé is hands down the best thing I've ever eaten. read more

Wow. Just wow. I can't say enough good things about our experience at Ammoora. It was my second time there and we were five women celebrating a divorce. From Yessi at the front to Rosa who provided exceptional service to Iman the amazing sommelier - and I don't know the chef but MIND BLOWN! The ambience is amazing, the food is outstanding and the service is phenomenal. What a beautiful night and experience Ammoora provided to us! This is an incredible dining experience but it doesn't feel forced or pretentious. Expect awesome service and incredible food. The halloumi cigars, the green lentil cold mezze, the mohamarra spread, the chicken and lamb were standouts. But everything was incredible! read more

Excellent service and great food. I had the saffron pot pie - delicious! I will be back!

First time dining at Ammoora, the decor and atmosphere is lovely, service was excellent. The food, however was average. The fish looked and tasted as though it had been cooked earlier rather than fired on order and the accompanying grains were meh. Dessert was delicious. read more

We used open table to book as a party of three on a Sunday night for an anniversary dinner. The food was mostly wonderful, which we enjoyed with a $100 bottle of sparkling rose. Our total check was pennies short of $500. We had four appetizers, where the Za'atar Honey Burrata and Haloumi Cigars were standout delicious. The Muhamara was a unique experience you won't find on menus anywhere else, subtley spicy. The Sfiha Mddalal was good, but was overshadowed by the others. The fresh pita bread was something I've never experienced. Warm, and full of a light honey and cinnamon air. I asked twice how they made it because I didn't believe their simple answer. There was a little bit of satori in them. For our entrees, the Short Rib Freekeh was stunningly perfect, the Kebab Antabli Skewers tender and delicious, and the Broiled Lobster Tails were perfectly seasoned, but perhaps slightly overcooked. Our desserts were a stumble. Laymouniyé was overbalanced on the tartness, compensated with cloying sweetness. Ashta Bil Asal was a delightful creme, topped with a vanilla-ish cotton candy - I don't know if this is a traditional presentation, but we thought it looked like animal fur. And last a saffron rice pudding with a brûlée-like crust was completely imbalanced, having an earthy flavor with no sweetness at all. The soft texture of the rice was offset by the thick, crunchy crust, that you needed pieces of for the sugar with each bite. The environment was promising as we entered through the fancy doors and rich bar. Our host walked us through the subtly lit, quiet space and led us into a loud, brightly lit dining room full of everything the website says they don't allow. Underdressed people, birthday parties singing and taking flash photos, children running around the tables, picking their nose and banging glasses, and of course not one, but two screeching babies. We were seated in the middle of the room, where It was so loud I couldn't even hear the host asking if we preferred still or sparkling water. One of our party had to remove her hearing aids, which significantly blunted conversation. A few booth areas to the side seem like they would be significantly more cosy. The service was overall slow and inattentive, with the exception of someone I guess was the manager, who actually took our order 20 minutes after being seated. We had to ask for additional water, to have the table wiped between courses, and flagged them multiple times for service. In the end, we enjoyed the food a lot, but at this price-point we expected flawlessly handled service in an upscale, elegant atmosphere to go with it, and that wasn't even close to the case. If money is no object and you don't care about table conversation, you might like it more than we did. Ammoora's website has an entire section called "dining guide", which set an expectation they should strive for. read more

We didn't even scratch the surface of the extensive menu, so we need to go back. One of the best customer experiences we have ever had. Loved the decor and ambiance. It's a very special place. My dessert - a custard with rosewater and cotton candy - was one of the most unique delicious desserts I have ever had. I cannot wait to return for a special occasion. read more

The service was nice, I especially liked sitting at the bar during happy hour. The food was alright, to be honest the muhamara was not that amazing in my opinion and the pita was underwhelming as well. For my entree, I got the short rib... flavor was not it - just tasted salty and the meat was tough. I did come during restaurant week so could be a reason, but the short rib was on their main menu, not the restaurant week menu. The ambiance was nice and the decor was pretty, I'd say worth it for the views, not the food I got. read more

We went to Ammoora to have dinner for our friends birthday and were more than disappointed; we were offended. We did not make a reservation as we checked Open Table 20 minutes prior to arriving and they had plenty of reservations available. When we walked in we were asked if we had a reservation, to which we replied that we did not. The hostess said they were fully booked for the night, and the concierge suggested we could eat at the bar if we wanted.. which we did not want as we were there to enjoy a nice birthday dinner for our friend. We said no thank you and left, but out of curiosity went back on Open Table, and much to our surprise there were still SEVERAL reservation slots available, and were able to make one right away with no issues. I then called the restaurant and when the hostess answered, I asked her why we were told 5 minutes prior when were there that they were fully booked, yet we were able to make reservations? I was met with radio silence, and then a scrambled excuse that "someone must've cancelled just as we were walking out".. to which I replied, "I'm sure. Have a good night." So MULTIPLE reservations just happened to cancel as we walked out the door?? I'm not sure what judgement was passed on us that led them to the conclusion that we were not up to par for their establishment. We are 3 women in our late thirties who were dressed appropriately, so the only conclusion we could come to was either our tattoos, or that they didn't think we could afford it. Either way, what a disgusting and inappropriate way to treat patrons. We obviously did not go back for our reservation because I was not about to give me money to an establishment with clearly antiquated ways that makes anyone feel less than. It ended up being a blessing in disguise because we found an AMAZING restaurant in Fell's Point with similar fare and a FAR better staff who was unbelieving warm and welcoming, We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, and tipped generously due to the level that they went above and beyond! If you want to eat dinner in an overrated apartment complex and be judged before you even open your mouth, by all means, go to Ammoora! But if you want an experience that exceeds your expectations from start to finish, please go to the Black Olive in Fell's Point! read more

Food was ok but for the price not worth it at all in my opinion. There are much better restaurants with better food quality. My biggest issue was the absolutely terrible service. Came here for a friend's birthday. So we had a limited menu. They are a little uptight with the dress code just fyi. For the starters we had tabouleh, hummus, fattoush salad, and baba ghanouj carpaccio which were all good especially with the complimentary bread you get. I think the best item was the hummus. Then we for appetizers I had the smashed eatata Harra which was really good, also had the Lahem B-ajin mddalal which is kinda of like a pizza on a really flat Naan type bread, it was ok. For my entree I had the kebab antabli skewers which was pretty solid. Also tried the Samke Tajen which was pretty solid ad well. For dessert we had to chef selected desserts one was something with cotton candy and the other was like a strawberry short cake and they were both good but the best one to me was the cotton candy one. The ambiance was very nice and had a very up class feel to it. The service was good, m didn't have any issues. Overall it was good time, also we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time which added to vibes. I like my experience and would reccomend. FYI this is a Mediterranean restaurant so if don't like that type of food this is not the place for you. read more

I wanted to like Ammoora, but felt disappointed with my visit. I want to note that we did visit during restaurant week, so the restaurant was definitely busier than usual, but, I would hope that they would prepare for the amount of customers. My friend and I ended up spending almost 3 hours at the restaurant - not because we wanted to - but because the waiters were slow to take our orders, there were gaps between the 3 courses, and they were slow to bring us the check. We had to flag people down to ask if we could order, get a refill of water, or to pay our check (I feel like we could have left without paying and they wouldn't have noticed). That said, the food was good, and I appreciated the portion sizes (especially of the main course). Beautiful restaurant layout and design, but it was all kind of overshadowed by the constant waiting. I would be willing to go again to see what Ammoora is like outside of restaurant week, but this visit (especially for the cost) was a let down for me. :( read more

Extremely high quality meal tonight at Ammoora in Federal Hill, Baltimore. A superb night out with colleagues eating family style. Hummus, Muhamara (so delicious we ordered a second serving), Kebbeh orfaliyah, short rib freekeh, and shish tawouk kabob with bread for the 4 of us! No room for dessert although they looked very appetizing as well! Service was perfect, very attentive without being overbearing and the restaurant was quite stylish as well. Had a beautiful culinary experience with this new restaurant. Went on a Saturday, (dining room was fully booked, fyi), so sat at the spacious bar and had a wonderful meal. The ambiance of this venue was excellent, plenty of low level lighting and the space flowed easily from main entrance, to host, to bar, to kitchen, to dining room and then ended with an outdoor patio. Can't wait for the weather to better for some wonderful outside dining. The cuisine was new for me but not spicy at all. Service was impeccable and the owners provided insight and guidance on the menu. Wine pairing was perfect and I highly recommend this establishment. read more

Really enjoyed our time here, the Leventine ambiance is like balm to my Arab soul. There was a lot of thought put into the decor and the details are stunning...so don't skip a trip to the lavatory either as everything is just gorgeous! Shukran to Malik who was our host, very warm and welcoming. It also felt good dining out for a cause as they are donating a portion of February's proceeds to the Syria-Turkey earthquake relief. read more

On an unprecedented day in Baltimore when there were the twin events of an Orioles playoff game in the afternoon and the Billy Joel/Stevie Nicks concert that night, both generating gridlocked traffic in the city, we were shown unbelievable generosity and kindness at Ammoora. Earlier that week, my husband and I had made early pre-concert dinner reservations for the two of us at Ammoora. We were planning on valeting our car there and then just taking an Uber or walking over to the concert at M&T Stadium afterwards. My husband called Ammoora the day before to find out if it would be ok for us to leave our car there during the concert and pick it up late at night afterwards. He just happened to get Jay, the owner, on the phone, who not only said that it was ok, but he generously offered for us to share a shuttle with them as he and a group of friends were also going to the concert then as well! How nice is that?!!! That night, we showed up for our reservation, and had an amazing dinner of mezze- so many succulent dishes that were prepared to perfection! The Beet Mutabal was so light, creamy, and addictive, the pitas were fluffy pillows perfect for dipping, and the Haloumi Cigars were so delectable - light and crispy on the outside revealing a soft delicately salty interior.... Really we loved every single dish that we ordered! And all within a beautiful decorated space, that is so tastefully done with exotic, yet muted middle eastern flair - it is just so gorgeous! After dinner, Jay got word that the shuttle was stuck in horrible gridlocked traffic. At that point, my husband and I thought that we would just walk it - it was not quite 1.5 miles - not a big deal. But Jay would not hear of it! He offered to have his manager, Andy, drive the two of us in his personal car to the concert so that we would get there on time! We demurred at first, but he insisted! (I mean, who does this?!!! SOOO incredibly above and beyond!!!) Andy drove up in a gorgeous two door import, and he expertly maneuvered us through the traffic until he could go no farther. We were over half way there, so we decided to just get out there and walk the rest of the way. We got in to the stadium and found our seats just in time for Stevie Nick's opening song. I couldn't believe we made it! So many others were not as lucky and were waiting outside in the traffic. But with Jay and Andy's generosity, we were there for the start! Neither my husband nor I have ever experienced such kindness from people we don't even know!!! Both Jay and Andy went over and above to make sure that we had an amazing dinner and get us to the concert on time, and we are so grateful. In a world that is so often full of darkness as it has been these last few weeks, it is so good to know that there are still really good and kind people like Jay and Andy out there. We have told all of our friends about their kindness, and the amazing food and atmosphere at Ammoora and hope that you do too. These are truly special people and it is such a beautiful and magical place! read more

My group dining experience was just okay. The food was good and our server was great, but was let down by the miscommunication when it came down to booking our group.
