Then my husband remembered seeing a truck with "mobile mechanic" on it and searched for "mobile mechanics near me". We called FRE Performance Mobile Auto Repair and for not much more than it would have cost just for the tow, we got great service at an affordable price. Brent knew what the problem was as soon as he attempted to start it, then verified that with the diagnostic machine. Within minutes, he had diagnosed the problem and found the part in stock. When he quoted the price for parts and labor, I think that it was considerably less than we would have been charged at many places. He drove to the parts place, got the part, and had it installed in just over an hour. It was probably the easiest car repair we'd ever had. The great thing was that no waiting in repair shop waiting rooms was required, and we were able to be at home to meet another contractor for an estimate at the same time. We will definitely use his services again for any other auto repairs and maintenance that we have in the future.

Sadly, the shop uses appointments like doctors. Where appointments are for patients, but not for the attending physician. So, I waited a couple of days to get the appointment, and had the truck towed in before the specified time. They never called me, I called them, ONLY to be informed, they never got to my vehicle and it would be the next business day it would be looked at. The shop was closed for the weekend, ugh! I waited until later the Monday afternoon, still no call from them. So, I called again. And, got informed they couldn't look at my vehicle until Tuesday because they were short handed. I finally got a call on Tuesday the truck was ready. When I asked about getting a discount due to the truck languishing in their shop for 2 days, (plus the weekend they were not open). They got really pissy with me about me being irritated due to not getting my truck back "sooner". I was charged the full price. No apologies, MY RECOMMENDATION, IS TO TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. ITS A SHIT-SHOW for customer service. Please explaine to me in specific language exactly what an APPOINTMENT is for! They were great at excuses but terrible at service. Never use them!

I called around the Ocala area looking for someone to look at the car, do a diagnostic test to see what was wrong. The tow truck got to the garage and unloaded the car. They (Lopez Auto) Called me within 30 minutes of the car being dropped off with the diagnosis. A Dead Battery. After driving a couple blocks after having that battery changed, a light on the dash that I had never seen before came on. So, I pulled back in to politely ask if it was possible that the battery cables were not tight or something and to look under the hood myself, even though I had been nothing but calm and polite, he got extremely defensive and rude but said nothing about cancelling or upcoming appointment (which he knew I was staying in the area an extra day for) The indicator light went off when I restarted the car and never came back on and after some research online, I believe that he hadn't done anything wrong connecting the battery but that having the battery disconnected caused a sensor glitch. When I returned for that appointment two days later he refused to work on my car claiming that I had gotten angry with him which up until that point was absolutely not the case! He had my phone number yet never called to cancel; so, it seems like a deliberate petty, vindictive attempt to waste my time when all I had done was politely ask a question. This is the most childish and unprofessional behaviour I have ever experienced from a mechanic! I recommend avoiding this place at all cost!
