I'm writing this review for those that read the reviews to determine if they are doing to do business with an organization. A little background to my review...I had been to 2 other so called reputable transmission shops in the Ocala area. Both of which after their diagnostics machine say I needed a new transmission. But the odd thing was when I drove the truck to these shops, I didn't see, smell or feel like there was anything wrong with the transmission. I'm not the driver of the truck, it's driven by one of my employees who reported that there "Might Be" an issue with the transmission. I called Trans Max Transmissions and spoke with Chris to get a third price without having to take it in for a 3rd diagnostic test. At this point I was just trying to get the 3 quotes for a new trans. After about 15 mins on the phone Chris convinced me to bring it in for testing. When I arrived at the shop, my truck was pulled in immediately and within 30 mins Chris came and gave me my results..."Your truck was low on transmission fluid and DOES NOT need a rebuilt transmission at this time..." Chris not only filled my trans fluid...ne said since I had been to 2 other shops and paid their diagnostic fees, he wasn't going to charge me another one. I insisted to allow me to pay since he just saved me a rebuild on the transmission. Chris refused and said he would like to earn my business when the time came. Folks...Chris brought back faith that there are still some honest mechanics out there even today. My 2016 Town and Country's transmission went out on I-95. I had it towed to a dealer in Ocala to get an estimate. My nephew who lives in Ocala said to take it to Trans Max. I called them and Chris; the owner, said they would take care of picking up the van and giving us an estimate. Chris, the owner could not be more gracious and sympathetic. We were from out of town and just passing through. Lisa the receptionist was wonderful and charming. We went back home to Brandon and waited for Chris to give us the bad news. He called us the next day and said the trans had to be rebuilt and gave us the estimate. Several days later he called and said the van was ready. We drove back to Ocala and picked up the van. On the way home I heard a whine coming from the transmission. I called Chris and he said bring it back. We decided to take a mini vacation and brought the van back. He provided an inexpensive rental vehicle for us to drive while they worked on the transmission. Several days later we picked up the van. The whine was gone and the trans worked perfectly. I can't say enough about the friendliness of Chris and Lisa and would highly recommend Trans Max to anyone who has transmission problems. read more

Well it all started when my 2016 GMC Sierra with the 8L90 8 speed transmission started throwing "check engine" codes left and right. First transmission shop I went to gave me the run around and kept me in the dark begging for answers for 3 weeks, and after already paying 800 towards a new wire harnes for some reason as this is where they wanted to start with my transmission. I went to Chris at Transmaxx on a Tuesday evening at 3pm to find out his availability and ended up dropping my truck off the next day for a full diagnostics. Chris ordered the part, I dropped my truck off Thursday night and had it back Friday evening by 3pm fully repaired, for less than what he originally quoted and half of what the dealership and other transmission shop wanted to do to my truck and charge me for it. Very stand up guy to deal with, excellent employees who care about their customers experience. Highly recommended and trustworthy. Thought I need led a full rebuild and ended up being just my torqu converter, but would not have found this out with Transmaxx. read more

Chris and the guys at Trans Max did a phenomenal job on my 2016 he y diesel truck. I had the transmission rebuilt. They update and replaced the internal parts with newer, stronger and updated parts. I had some issues with the truck shuddering before I took it in. The employees and Chris went far above and beyond to diagnose this issue and try to get it corrected. I could t of asked for better service than I got at Trans Max transmission repair shop. I highly recommend this business and will definitely make this my place for the needs of my truck from now on. I am from California originally and moved and reside in Reddick, Fl now. It is hard to find an honest business to deal with nowadays but I found one of the few remaining shops around you can trust. This shop is a dying breed. Chris took time to talk with me and to hear my thoughts about my vehicle. He didn't try to upsell me in any way and addressed all my concerns. He did a complete Transmission fluid exchange including a new transmission filter. He replaced the transfer case lubricant as well. He checked both differential oil levels and reported no issues. He not only met but exceeded my expectations and being new to Ocala, I needed to and have found a full service auto shop 4 miles from my home. His whole shop operates with the honesty and integrity unheard of in this crazy world we now occupy. I was referred to this place by my son, and I am so glad I listened to him. Not only did they take care of my truck. But the most amazing thing I seen (which you don't see it in many places) was an elderly lady (79) came in and wanted to make a payment. Chris came out of the back office and handed the lady the cash she gave them. He told her "I want you to keep this until you get back on your feet" she said how did you know that I was trying to get back on my feet? His reply was "because you told me about it". She gave him the biggest hug and was so greatful to him. The service was great but when you see that type of kindness, it's just unmatched. Had a issue with my transmission stranding me at my house fast response time and had my vehicle to the shop within the same day. Ok so ‍ where do I start. Trans Max Transmissions has gained not only my trust but my entire family's trust. I was told by another transmissions facility that I needed a NEW TRANSMISSION ($4500).
