Cilantro tastes like soap to me and ever since my first visit, even when I forget to ask for no cilantro in my food, they remember for me :) And the food! I thought I didn't like cauliflower before I tried their cauliflower taco, and now I get it every time! The vegan bao, the elote, and the plantain taco are also amazing, and they have the best mocktail to all time (ask for the yuzu one). Both the indoor and outdoor dining experience is wonderful, plenty of space between tables, flowers lining the outdoor tables, a great place to chat over a meal without getting overstimulated. And it's right in the heart of the downtown, so you can check out the bookstore a few stores down or the boba shop down the street. I can't recommend this place or the people who keep it running so well enough -- I always leave with a happy stomach and a happy heart.

I had the chance to try Mayan Kitchen Food and it was a good experience. Ended up trying takeout of…read morethe food through the hubby and enjoyed. The food came in on time so we really appreciated that. I tried the Cochinita Pibil which came with rice and plantains. I liked that the meat was soft and full of flavor as well as the rice. The salty and sweet from the plantains went well together. The other item i tried was the Pollo cochinita pibil bao bun. This was also very yummy and full of flavor. I definitely enjoyed that the bao was so soft. Overall, it was a solid experience and would want to go back to try more!

The food came out fairly quickly as well. The chef special and the malai soya chaap is what we ordered. Both are so spectacular and flavorful in their own ways. the lentils and the varying sauces were my favorite, especially when mixed together with the rest of the dish. also very pleasantly surprised that the chef special came with a drink + dessert. the chai is EPIC !! best chai i've had here in the bay area . thank you to the chefs and staff here at bhajan sahib .

The quantities are large and can be easily shared. Now soy chaap is one of the most unhealthy foods one can consume. It's made of processed oils, all purpose flour and bit of soy. But, it's widely consumed by vegetarians these days as an alternative to meat due to its meat like texture. I had some really outstanding soy chaap from a place in Fremont and haven't been able to find anything else that comes close to it. The version here though decent fell short on the flavor. The smoky aftertaste was kind of missing. The chow mein on the other hand was beautifully done. I can see why this place is rated so high.

Yummy food. Friendly service. We had never eaten here before, but had noticed crowds outside when…read moredriving by. We had lunch here today at around noon. Very efficient ordering process and delivered to your table. Tables are numbered. The filtered coffee is really good. We got it medium level (versus strong) with jaggerty (a type of sugar versus regular sugar). The coffee chef pours the coffee into small tin cups and then pours hot milk on top and tops it with frothy milk foam. My husband and I ordered a Masala Dosa which came with a white chutney and red chutney and sambar (soup); and a Mega Tiffin which had a more tightly rolled Masala Dosa (with potatoes, greens, onions inside, sambar, the 2 chutneys, 1 idyly (white bun), 2 vadais (donut shaped savory fritter), pongol (creamy grain - lentil and rice combo). I also had a mango lassi. The dosas were crisp and fresh and the filling was not too spicy for us. We really liked the dosas and the variety of other dishes that are also served. The coffee was very good. We had considered getting the Mylapore dosa, but the cashier mentioned it is spicy so we opted for the Masala one instead. Staff were friendly and helpful as we told them it was our first time there. We parked in the parking lot. Our server said often the parking lot is full and people park nearby and walk in. The restaurant was fairly full at that time with only a few tables available. Ambiance was casual and nice with high ceilings, booths or tables. We sat in a booth. Table was pretty and lots of natural light. You go in and get a table number. You take the menu and table card to the cashier and order. Then, you get your coffee and/order mango lassi (or other drink) and take it to your numbered table. A server brings your food out to your table.

What a pleasure to order thayir vadai, filter coffee, and tiffin combos in Tamil! Also, don't sleep on the sugar-free ice creams, which were a delightful touch for us diabetics (who are probably 50% of the clientele ... no cap, as the kids say).
