    Chikni chameli

Great presentation on small plates. The drinks were also decked up. Service was fast. Food had some good flavors too. We tried the golgappas - spicy liquid filled green chocolate in your puri. Keeps the whole dish crispy till you bite into it ! (8/10) Shrimp vada- crispy batter fried shrimp with sweet mango sauce (7/10) Soya chap- creamy soy served in mild gravy with a bite of onions (9/10) Palak kebabs- soft green kebabs in pink yogurt gravy- lacked texture and punch. (5/10) Jackfruit dosa- the flavors didn't tie well and the masala tasted sharp & uncooked (3/10) Moving on to drinks - The chikni Chameli - was strong and tasty There was another one that was spicy and came with pieces of jalapenos in it and topped by a bubble. The pink guava mocktail had a spicy rim The am panna was watered down The anarkali was pomegranate infused slushie mocktail hanging from a lantern stand for dramatic effect . Overall had a great time , wish there was more food per serving !

Erthya turned out to be a good find. The ambiance is nice, and the service was good. Regarding the food: - Kofta in the Makhmali Kofta was so soft and delicious. This is a must-try. - Gol Goppa Surprise had great presentation and unique flavors. - Rasmalai Tres Leches cake was great and not too sweet. - Okra fries and Paneer Lazawab were good. - breads were disappointing. The Garlic Naan barely had any garlic in it. The Kulcha had way too much sesame on it, and the Manakish bread was okay.

Samosa-3/5, the flavors are all there. Could use less masala since the outer crispy portion gets soggy cuz of the chutney. Kofta- 4/5 delicious! Not spicy at all Pani puri- 5/5, very innovative Garlic naan- 5/5, one of the softest naan I've had

*Vegetarian Foodie Review* Celebrated new job offers with friends over Friday lunch. We reserved through OpenTable, plz note there is cancellation or no-show charge if not done within 24 hrs of your reservation. Ambiance is classy with a spacious and expansive seating area. We got seated promptly upon arrival. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. We ordered: Drinks and Appetizers: - Kalakhatta Mojito - 4/5: It took me back to India is all I can say :) - Gol Gappa Surprise - 5/5: We got 2 orders. Their signature item - just order this, no second thoughts plz. The best gol gappa I ever had with a unique twist. Presentation and flavors were top notch! $10 for this dish is a steal, I am ready to pay more for this :) - Palak Chaat - 4/5: Yogurt mousse had great texture and taste. The chutneys paired really well and had a good flavor. Main Course: - Paneer Lazawab - 3/5: Flavor was good, but it tasted average. A pinch of salt would have elevated the dish. We requested for salt and added it. - Bhutte Ka Saag - 4/5: 1st time trying this, and everyone loved it. Again, a pinch of salt would have made it perfect. - Garlic Naan - 4/5: Perfectly cooked - soft, fluffy, and generous portion of garlic! Desserts: - Chocolate Harmony - 4/5: Loved the presentation and taste. The addition of fruits, especially strawberries and blueberries, complemented the choc. Crisp meringue was a great touch. The choice of colors for this dish was appealing. Chocolate could have been slightly thinner in texture to make it easier to share, as it was quite thick - Rasmalai Tres Leche - 4/5: I am not a big fan of Tres Leche but my group loved it and literally finished it all. They loved it. Sides: - Order of Onion/Chilli/Lemon Prices were reasonable, considering the bay area price range. Overall, a great experience with good vibes for celebrations!! Definitely coming back for more!!

We went to this restaurant for mother's day lunch. Overall it was a positive experience with some minor hiccups. We ordered gol gappa surprise, chicken chapli kebab, chicken kolhapuri, paneer biryani, butter chicken and some breads. Gol gappa and chicken kolhapuri were very yummy, rest were decent. Desserts were outta the park - rasmalai tres leches and rose falooda. Overall a good meal. Coming to the service, there were few issues. Number 1, we wanted to order chicken biryani but they said they are still making it and will take time - this was at like 1PM, I would expect them to be prepared for peak lunch time. Instead we had to settle with the paneer biryani which was okayish. Number 2, the servers always seem to be in a hurry to clear the plates even if you are in the middle of eating or have some leftovers that you are working on. Number 3, they charged us a 18% service fee in the bill when everywhere in the menu it clearly said it's for parties of 5 & above - we were 4 people, glad we noticed and had them remove it! I wouldn't mind going to his restaurant again to try rest of their menu. Hopefully they fix their service issues by then.

We've been to Arth when it was called the Spice Klub and had a complete vegetarian menu. Needless to say adding non-vegetarian delicacies in the menu is a great decision. The starter options are very innovative and delicious at the same time. Their pani puri was very good in the Spice Klub menu and the new version doesn't disappoint as well. I used to like their spicy water for the pani puri from their previous menu which I missed in this version. All the other appetizers- soya chaap, kurkure bhindi, and ghee roast set dosa with jackfruit were very good as well. The non-vegetarian main course was delicious but I was a little disappointed with the vegetarian options. They used to have a jackfruit biryani in their previous menu which used to be different from the usual paneer dishes. They don't have it anymore but have a paneer makhani biryani. I am not a huge fan of paneer, hence had to go with dal tadka. Overall good food and service. Ambience is the same from before, nothing to add there

    Saffron tres leches, so good

Hmm so hard to rate. All of the appetizers were gorgeous and delicious. The main I got was unmemorable and not very well seasoned, almost bland which was a shock after all of the ultra flavorful apps we had. Really this is 3.5 stars for now. But rounding up b/c some of the food was so good! The ambiance and service both need work. And I don't usually care about service. Agreed that the service was tepid and slightly awkward and impersonal like they don't care if you want to be there or want food. Though everyone was nice. (Mostly the issue was with the host/people the took order). The clean up crew was so nice and lovely actually. The music for a Saturday brunch was odd and not a vibe, a bit too loud and a bit too much like it came from an older white dude's not great clubbing list which created cognitive dissonance. The food imo is better than Ettan. More interesting and not dumbed down for the palette in the way Ettan is. But def the vibe needs work, especially because the space is so big and cavern-y feeling. Also I was a bit cold in that space and had a hard time taking off my coat which also made it less of a vibe, so they need to heat the place a bit more. Please have someone be more intentional about the music choice b/c it would make a huge difference. I was so distracted and not in a good way and if the service could be a tad warmer or more interested, I think this would be great for repeat visits!

The vegetarian restaurant Spice Klub has been replaced by Arth which also serves some non vegetarian items. Ambiance is still the same. It was packed when we went on Friday for dinner but we managed to get a table quickly. We ordered an assortment of dishes and across the board the food was decent. Surprise Pani puri- 4/5- Definitely get the Pani puri for the theatrics if not anything else. The pani was encased in some ball(I thought it was chocolate but it was surprisingly not sweet). Only 5 pieces came in the plate and I was craving more after sharing the plate with the family. Jackfruit set dosa- 4/5- two small dosas which were relatively sour topped with jackfruit curry and some green foam which I am assuming was some chutney. The jackfruit texture was interesting. Chicken tacos-3/5- the chicken curry was relatively spicy and there was a bit of a clash with the salsa that was also used in the tacos. The tacos also came with large pieces of lettuce and some micro greens. Overall there was way too much going on. Kolhapuri chicken- 3/5- this was marked as spicy. It was bone in chicken and the gravy was too runny and it didn't have much flavor to speak of. This was the most disappointing dish we ordered. Shish tauk-4/5- pesto hummus topped with some grilled chicken, vegetable pickles and a pita on the side. The pesto hummus was kind of bland and had a grainy texture. The pickles helped provided a nice tart kick. Chicken was beautifully cooked but again kind of bland. Only a single pita came on the side and it was tiny. Manakish bread-3/5- bread topped with cheese and some herbs. It was way too soft and didn't hold its shape. Bihari roti-3/5- naan kind of bread with some sort of filling. I couldn't figure out what the filling was, but it was grainy and soft. Prices are definitely not exorbitant for the effort they took to elevate the food.

I visited this restaurant with my husband for a special occasion. I made the reservation one day ahead. This seems to be a new restaurant and I really liked some of their dishes. The gol kappa surprise was presented very well and tasted good and spicy. Mutton champaran was so good. It was spicy and garlicky and went so well with the naan and Bihari roti. The highlight of the evening I must say was the Rasmalai tres leches. It was soaked in milk and saffron. There were bits of pistachio in the milk which I liked a lot. The overall service could be faster. There was almost 30 mins wait time between our appetizers and main course.

If you like fusion take on Indian cuisine then do try Arth Indian Restaurant! We visited Arth for Valentine's Day dinner. Mostly, it was a positive experience. Appetizers such as, fusion Pani puri, smoked paneer tikka, & chicken kabobs were delicious with impressive presentation. Paneer dum biryani & champaran goat curry were really tasty! My kids complained that their garlic naans were super thin ;) loved the Rasmalai tres Leche cake! Chocolate harmony dessert was pretty dense. Non-alcoholic drinks were great but our cocktails were ok. Only complain was service :( Service was just ok. No one refilled our waters or checked on us during meal. We had to call the server to order rest of our meal & wait really long for the final check. It's a fairly new place so would definitely give them a second try! Ambiance:8/10 Service:6/10 Food:8/10 Music:6/10 Parking: mall parking lot Seating: outdoor & indoor seating : $50-$80

My husband and I tried Arth for lunch on a whim. We didn't make reservations, so we took the chance of doing a walk-in. I think we were lucky that the restaurant was able to accommodate us, because Arth was very busy. I'd recommend making reservations if you want to ensure you have a table. Arth was a beautiful restaurant. It felt vibrant and colorful, and it was a lot more casual than I thought. Although their website does make the restaurant come off as fancy, you'd be totally fine dressing in smart casual. The food was great. We ordered the tandoori flavored soft shell crabs, butter chicken, garlic naan, side of fluffy rice, and the rasmalai tres leches. My husband isn't the biggest fan of soft shell crab, but he mentioned that Arth's was the best he's ever had. TThe butter chicken was sweeter and a a lot more tomato based than I'm used to, but it was still delicious. The chicken thigh in the dish was nicely tender. I like rasmalai, so naturally the rasmalai tres leches was a hit in my book. I have 2 complaints about the restaurant, hence the 3-star rating: The service at the restaurant was incredibly slow. Between the time I snapped a picture of our crab appetizer (1:08pm) and the time we got our butter chicken entree, rice, and naan at (1:36pm), we had basically waited 30 minutes. It's one thing to not receive your food in a timely manner, but it's another thing that not one server came to check on us the entire time to see how we were doing. Even just the assurance that our order would be coming up soon would've been a nice. I had to make eye contact with someone to place an order for a cocktail while waiting for our entree. Thankfully our first server, who took our order initially, acknowledged the long wait and graciously took the cocktail off our tab. Secondly, the restaurant needs better ventilation especially because of all the smoky food. There were several items off the menu that came out sizzling or smoked (i.e. cocktails). At some point the restaurant felt stuffy and hard to breathe. If you have breathing challenges, I would maybe ask to sit by the door. This way you get a draft and exchange of fresh air when someone opens the door.

New restaurant few months old. Located in de anza, cupertino, had enough parking. Good ambiance and decor. We were quickly seated and ordered as below. Non alcoholic beverage Guava Delight Nice fruity taste Masala Mojito It is lemonade with masala, it was good. But could have been great with a soda. It basically tasted like hajmola in lemonade. Appetizers Manchow soup It was ok but was missing the Manchow signature of crunchiness brought by noodles and vegetables. Rather it was accompanied by fryums, which lost its form, the moment it hit the soup. Okra fries Crispy but it was so thin, it missed the bite if they have quartered instead of so thin, would have been better because few pieces were tasting good that was bigger. Also there were few slightly burned ones there. Golgappa surprise Looks very unique, basically Instagram worth presentation where they have the pani frozen. Taste wise not even close to a normal golgappa. Baked vada pav Basically glorified potato bun with mint sauce, sweet sauce and spice powder along with some crunchy chips. Set dosa with jackfruit ghee roast Picturesque but nothing else, powder sprinkled on the plate should have been sprinkled on dosa itself, would have given some flavor. Ghee is not prominent even though it is part of the dish name. Main course Paneer Lazawab Good paneer and enough spice decent main. Bihari roti Soft airy very good, made out of chickpea flour Garlic Naan Garlicky , If garlic was little more cooked would be great. Kulcha Lot of seasame on it, so if you have allergy or don't like it, be careful. Dessert Rasmalai Tres Leche Best dish of our dinner, not too sweet and the sponge can soak up all the liquid nicely and the liquid itself is very flavourful with all spices. Nice dish to finish with. Overall good ambiance, nice presentation of dishes, tastewise much to be desired. But good service particularly Indian restaurant where service is a second thought.

If you're driving down de Anza Blvd you'll find slightly hidden on the left Eryhya, a fabulous Indian restaurant....BUT this ain't no typical Indian restaurant you'll be welcomed hopefully by Ardensa now I bet I get his name wrong (sorry) but the tall finely bearded gentleman who guided my choices and how to eat them. I started as it was a Wednesday evening with just 2 appetisers Gol Gappa Surprise and Baked Vada Pav. One dish which you should place on your bucket list being their Gol Gappa Surprise... I started by eating it wrong and Mr A (I know his name started with an A) told me pop the whole thing in your mouth and BOOM what a surprise and fantastic taste. The baked vada Pav fun to build and deep flavour profile ... ha I'll be a food influencer in my next life. I had to order a martini the Jaisaimer Gin with Rose syrup ...you don't pick that up at your average dive bar in Cupertino you know. And a desert previous I had a popular dish the Rasmalai Tres Leche was nice but ... BUT Tutta Futta Pan !!!!! Deconstructed Paan and lively, colorful and fun ... Now the place it's above your average India restaurant which you won't want to visit again. This is your mitchelin guide worthy place and hopefully you won't like it ....you'll LOVE it. Maybe see you there sometime.

For a Saturday morning, the energy was calm -- a good sign for a small spot that could easily get overwhelmed. The waitress set the tone early. Warm, unhurried, she asked how we had heard about the place before taking the order -- the kind of question a restaurant only asks when it is still building its crowd and actually wants to know the answer. Filter coffee arrived without delay, hot, no shortcuts. The upma and mini tiffin combo followed. Portions were generous and the food arrived warm. But dish after dish played it safe right up to the edge of forgettable. The upma had correct texture with none of the assertiveness that makes a good upma worth finishing slowly. The sambar leaned thin. The chutneys were there, present and accounted for, doing the minimum. Everything assembled correctly, nothing bold enough to make you look up from the table. Meenakshi Bhavan gets enough right on a weekend morning to be worth knowing about -- clean space, genuinely warm service, honest portions. The waitress clearly takes pride in the hospitality side of things. The kitchen needs to match that energy with a firmer hand on the seasoning. Good enough for a familiar weekend breakfast. Not yet good enough to become a habit. The paintings on the walls that were Indian and Tamilnadu related was great, but the other art work seemed out of place, not sure what the thought process there was with the management. Things where this could improve: Coffee taste can improve (may be sourcing from a different coffee vendor may help, seemed like a standard Narassu's powder from a grocery shop near by that probably was at least a few months old) Chutneys need a certain kick and that was definitely missing. Cleanliness can be improved for sure.

We dined here on a Tuesday evening and we retry had the restaurant to ourselves. We ordered the goat biryani, goan fish curry, aloo gobi and butter naan. The naan was the best dish we ordered. While the presentation of the biryani was nice - the flavor was rather flat and blah. The Goan curry was harsh - you could taste the spices were raw and had a bitter after taste. The waiter said that this was a spicy dish - not at all ! It was so mild. The fish portion was rather small. The aloo gobi was slightly overcooked and a little too salty. The butter naan was great - fluffy and tasted great. Unfortunately we won't be coming back to this place.

The flavor was truly flavor-ing, and it had just the right amount of kick. I loved the spiciness!! Only note, there were quite a bit of bones in both entrees and I'm taking off a star for this. In the chicken especially, it seemed there were more bones than actual meat which was sad because the chicken was SUPER tasty. Tender and juicy and held the curry just perfect. The naan was also delicious as I prefer a thinner, flakier naan and they delivered! Sabudana Khichdi - This one didn't work for me; it leaned a bit too sweet. Ukadiche Modak & Puranpoli - The stars of the meal! Highly recommend both. The modak was soft, pillowy, and melt-in-your-mouth with a great dough-to-filling balance. The Puranpoli was super soft, ultra-thin dough, and perfectly flavored stuffing--excellent in both taste and quantity Sol Kadhi - Just okay for me; not something I'd return specifically for. Kokam Sharbat - Loved it! Overall, a wonderful spot for authentic Maharashtrian flavors with warm, welcoming staff. I'd definitely come back!

I had ordered takeout from this place during my visit to Santa Clara. My husband is from…read moreMaharashtra, and I've been there many times. My MIL has also made these dishes at home. So I was hoping for some amazing food from here. I haven't seen many Maharashtrian restaurants, so was very excited. Here is all I ordered: - Kothimbir Vadi: this is absolutely delicious. The flavor and seasoning is top notch. Loved it. - Sabudana Vada: we make this often at home and is one of my favorite Maharashtrian dishes. This was not bad. A bit bland for my liking. But was fried well and I loved the crispness. - Sabudana Khichdi: this was not good. I make this at home and what was sent to me was not cooked properly. Most of the grains were not cooked, and was too bland. - Bhakri: this was awful. No taste. No flavor. It was this white roti that was sent. Not at all like the Bhakri I've eaten in Maharashtra. - Puranpoli: I was super excited to try this as I absolutely love Puranpoli. But this didn't hit the mark. It was ok. Needed to be sweeter. There are many other things in the menu and I would love to try next time I'm in the area.
