    Pav Bhaji
    Pranathi B.

I had a lackluster experience with the pav bhaji we ordered. Props to them though for serving the dish with 3 buns instead of two. And for serving the mirchi fritter instead of just regular fried chilli. Having said that, the bhaji left us craving for more, it lacked oomph and flavor. And no, I am not taking about dousing it in butter. The fritter lacked salt as well and was greasy. Our other item, Pani puri, was relatively decent. The puris had some bite and form to them instead of being airy little pieces. I hope to go back, order other items and hopefully update my review as my experience was definitely not as amazing as the rest.

    Paneer Tikka

Had my eye on the Indian food truck for a while, as with most of them! Tried a couple of times on Saturdays with my friends and failed because they were possibly at an event both days. One day after a nice workout post work, I was craving a paratha and paneer tikka in the cold. This place came to mind immediately. I called them up to order pickup, and they said they'll keep it ready exactly when I get there because it doesn't taste as amazing as it should after a while. They were referring to both dishes I ordered. On reaching they told me they'll start making the paneer tikka fresh after I reached, so he started grilling it in front of me (check photos!). I believe the Aloo Paratha was almost done. He again suggested it's both best eaten fresh and I was like okay, I'll eat them both in person. And he was right. The Aloo paratha was hot and I gulped it down so fast, had to try hard to wait till my paneer tikka came along. Not at all loaded with butter, I was glad to find that out post a workout. Similar with the paneer tikka, super well spiced (I asked for spicy but it was medium), grilled the perfect amount with onions and mint sauce! Paratha came with raita. Portions for both were pretty good. They had a nice setup next to the truck, an enclosed area with a few tables, and enough heat as well. Really nice folks/owners. Authentic Delhi food I believe and I'll be back very soon.

Chatori chaat is a food truck serving classic Indian street food with quick service. The dahi puri was solid. The pasta was a creamy cheesy masala filled blend of a curry and pasta. I was a fan of the flavors, but it ended up being too heavy for me to finish. There are a few tables outside, but many people were eating in their cars. A fun spot for a casual, flavorful bite!

Got dinner here on a weekday and the food was great. Malai Soya chaap was pretty good and they customized the dish based on our preference. Bhel puri and desi pasta were also good. Got our food reasonably quickly after ordering.

Best all-vegetarian food truck in bay area! I have been here multiple times now and the taste is always impeccable. Their menu has chaats, parathas, sandwiches and pastas. The live pani puri is amazing if you are from north India.. you will love it!! The cheese pasta is my fav and I was in heaven when I had the first bite. Never found a good Indian cheesy pasta anywhere in the US before!! They also customize any dishes per your liking. I got a bombay kaccha sandwich one day per the owner's suggestion since they were out of club sandwich and it was delicious! Not to mention, this is my go to place for north Indian food and I hope they keep up the good work!

    Puri

Pani puri was bomb! My favorite for sure. Coming back for more. They also had free chai.

Truly a 5/5 experience at Chatori Chaat last night. We stopped by to take out some Bhel Puri & Malai Soya Chaap & both of these items were fantastic. What really stood out to me apart from the taste was the terrific packing. I was afraid the bhel puri will become soggy by the time we got home, so was telling my husband we should probably eat it in the car but look at how they packaged it. Each topping individually in a container so you can mix them when you are ready to eat and according to your spice/sweet levels. Truly amazing when establishments put thought into these things :) We got served complimentary Chai while waiting which was just perfect for the chilly weather. The malai soya chaap was DELICIOUS and reminded of the very first time I tried chaap in Delhi! Damn, food really evokes so many emotions :') Thank you Chatori chaat for a fantastic meal, we'll be back very soon!

Simply amazing food. Rivals the flavors I've paid three times the price for at highly rated restaurants. Order the sev puri, the aloo tikka chaat (get two), and really everything else on the menu. The daughter who helps her parents with the food truck is so nice and the service is quick. Can't ask for more at this price point too! I wish we had one of these on OC

Location: San Tomas Expressway x El Camino Real (Off the Ramp - parking lot - along side San Tomas Expressway) Food: (1) Dahi Bhalla papdi chaat: the yogurt and chutneys were so fresh. The Bhalla were soft and moist. It's so fresh! (2) Tikki Chaat: Wow the aloo was so fresh. Not cold hard potatoes tikkis leaking oil! Absolutely fresh and light in the stomach. Service: Fast and sweet Ambience: they have a white tent to sit inside.

    Ragda pattice
    Manali D.

We stopped by otw home since we saw this place on san tomas and el camino intersection. We were not too hungry so ordered just the ragda pattice. It was decent. I would have liked a little more chutneys and dahi and overall more flavor but it was tasty and felt fresh Will definitely visit again to try more things on the menu

    Tandoori Malai Soya Chaap

Outstanding place for chaat and nice North Indian bites. Have come here many times and the food is outstanding and they can tailor it to your spice levels. Each and everyone from The food truck is so kind and hospitable and ensure you feel welcome and at home. My favorites are the following: - Malai soya chaap: simply too good and drooling in a creamy gravy - Paneer paratha- ample portion size and tasty - kulcha with matar: another hit with taste out of the world - the kids love the desi pasta. Huge portion size Will definitely visit regularly. On top of it, they provide complimentary chai and the fusion DJ music.for ambience, there is plenty of parking and seating space outside

It's clean inside and plenty of natural lighting. Since we were one of two parties inside, the service was quick. I ordered the chicken tikka wrap, as I was feeling something handheld. The chicken tikka was perfectly seasoned, with a good kick of spiciness. I will say, the oil did seep through the naan wrap, so it was definitely a bit messy to eat. But the flavor was so good that it was worth it. AND, the wrap was only $14. In this economy? The prices were really reasonable. Everything was just wonderful, and the food alone gets a solid five stars from me. Complex flavors, just the right amount of heat. Papadum, tandoori salmon, lamb saag, and gajar halwa were outstanding. The staff, unfortunately, looked inexperienced and standoffish. We came in at an off-peak time. The place was nearly empty, so it was not like they had their hands full. As we were going through the meal, not a single dirty plate was taken away from our table. When we finished dessert, all the used dishes from the appetizer and main course were still on the table. That was so odd. It was rather hard to get the attention of the servers. At one point, a server who had brought our dishes before was standing in the back of the room and looking straight at me. I tried to summon him first by making eye contact, then by a meek hand wave, but he redirected his look a little away from me and just continued standing there. We were brought the wrong dessert and realized that only after we started eating, but decided it would be too much hassle to get it replaced. We live very close by and will likely come back for takeout, but not for dine-in.

For a Saturday morning, the energy was calm -- a good sign for a small spot that could easily get overwhelmed. The waitress set the tone early. Warm, unhurried, she asked how we had heard about the place before taking the order -- the kind of question a restaurant only asks when it is still building its crowd and actually wants to know the answer. Filter coffee arrived without delay, hot, no shortcuts. The upma and mini tiffin combo followed. Portions were generous and the food arrived warm. But dish after dish played it safe right up to the edge of forgettable. The upma had correct texture with none of the assertiveness that makes a good upma worth finishing slowly. The sambar leaned thin. The chutneys were there, present and accounted for, doing the minimum. Everything assembled correctly, nothing bold enough to make you look up from the table. Meenakshi Bhavan gets enough right on a weekend morning to be worth knowing about -- clean space, genuinely warm service, honest portions. The waitress clearly takes pride in the hospitality side of things. The kitchen needs to match that energy with a firmer hand on the seasoning. Good enough for a familiar weekend breakfast. Not yet good enough to become a habit. The paintings on the walls that were Indian and Tamilnadu related was great, but the other art work seemed out of place, not sure what the thought process there was with the management. Things where this could improve: Coffee taste can improve (may be sourcing from a different coffee vendor may help, seemed like a standard Narassu's powder from a grocery shop near by that probably was at least a few months old) Chutneys need a certain kick and that was definitely missing. Cleanliness can be improved for sure.

But when unpacked, it looked it was more for one hungry person. it had 1 cup of lamb curry, 1 cup chicken curry, 1 cup of rice, 1 cup unfilled salad, 1 gulab jamon in syrup and soufflé cup of raita and 2 half rounds of plain naan. If it's for 2, how come only a single gulab Jamon. Also it states 2 curry's and 1 masala, but it was missing 1 of the proteins. This was the description: "Chicken curry, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, naan, rice, raita, dessert, and salad typically compose this non-vegetarian thali for two" $27.50. Special instructions field was not operable as we woukd have asjed for mild and we were ok with the spice. it was between mild and medium. We both had a warmth over out beings and reached fir the raita to cool our mouths. My dining partner didn't eat much and got a really bad stomach ache. I didn't have a stomach ache bc I did not have any of the items in this Thali set. With my dining partner getting a bad stomachache, missing one of the proteins in the order and the minimal dessert of one when it's described as a set for two people. My partner shouted a strong zero. 0/5 Since I thought the combo above would be enough, I ordered garlic naan, it also came into half circles. Naan was thick and very dry. It reminded me of Greek pita bread but with scorches from a clay oven or skillet. Im used to get getting a green and reddish dip sauce but not from this restaurant. A la carte garlic naan iis $ 4.50 person naan. 2/5 In addition I ordered mushroom matter/mutter @ $14.50. This was very different than others I've had. At other pl all, whole mushrooms. But in this container, it barely had any and the mushrooms were sliced thinly and swimming in masala sauce. It was more saucy than it's contents. I felt like perhaps it was the end of the night and they were running low on mushrooms and peas. It was more a 1/5 . Needless to say, I would not recommend this establishment based on this experience.

Colors aside, the chicken itself was delicious. But I will make sure to ask them beforehand next time and order something that doesn't have colors. *naan-5/5- this was amazing. Hot from the tandoor. First off, the delivery was a smooth process, dot on time and packaged with such precision. Ankush, who runs the show at Delhicacies came to do the honors and as well left detailed instruction on how to go about preparing one of the starter dishes that we had ordered (Bhalle Papdi chaat that is). The menu we chose included Bhalle Paapdi Chaat, Cocktail Samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, Chana Masala, Baingan Bharta, accompanied by Roomali Roti and Lacchay Pyaaz as a side salad. The Bhalle Paapdi Chaat was an instant crowd-pleaser, with the perfect balance of crispy papdi, fresh bhalle, cool sweet yogurt, tangy tamarind along with green sauces, a secret masala powder and a garnish of beetroot , pomegranate and cilantro. All of these were packed separately and instructions were provided (step by step) to prepare the end result which tasted out of the world good. It was refreshing yet packed with flavors that kept everyone asking for seconds. The Cocktail Samosas were golden, crisp, and filled with a spiced potato mixture that made them an ideal finger food--perfectly bite-sized and not greasy at all. For the main course, the Paneer Tikka Masala (PTM) stole the show with its rich, velvety sauce that coated the tender paneer in just the right amount of spice. The flavors were balanced yet bold, making it a standout dish. The earthy flavor in the paneer made it finger licking good and definitely was the biggest hit of the evening. The Chana Masala had the perfect texture--soft chickpeas simmered in a well-spiced gravy that had just the right amount of heat and tang. Cubes of paneer in there definitely made it a good overall combination and complemented with the PTM. The smoky and flavorful Baingan Bharta added an earthy depth to the meal as well. The eggplant was roasted beautifully, bringing out its natural flavors, which paired wonderfully with the Romali Roti. The roti was soft, thin, and warm, making it the ideal vehicle to soak up the gravies. We did end up heating the rotis in our microwave oven for about 10-15 seconds in batches and they remained perfect in their texture and taste. The Lacchay Pyaaz--freshly sliced onions with a sprinkle of masala--added a crunchy, refreshing bite to balance the richness of the other dishes. Overall, Delhicacies delivered an out of the world authentic North Indian culinary experience with each dish tasting as though it was prepared with care and precision. The food was flavorful, perfectly spiced, and served fresh. Our guests were impressed, and we couldn't have been happier with the quality of food and service of delivery.
