Paneer Paratha
Saanvi S.

Short wait time (to get a table & the food), however the table was only cleaned after we sat down. Paratha was good (maybe a little bit crispier than I thought it would be), and I also thought there would be yogurt with it. I liked the pickle that came with it though.

Raj Kachori

It's more like a take out spot. Raj Kachori was major disappointment. But dal kachori and Jalebi were super hit.

Chole Bhature and Dahi Bhalla

Lived in Delhi for 2 years and this is THE best, most authentic Chole Bhature that reminds me of good old Nathu's! The dahi bhalla and other chaat is great too. It's fairly quick-service and very casual. If you want a little more sanity when it's crowded, opt to sit in their adjoined restaurant space which is almost always empty (that side has a buffet not worth sneezing at). Come here for the Chole Bhature - 'nuff said!

Hands down the best Jalebis in town. Hot, crisp, perfectly sweet. The second best dish is their dal kachori. They also seem to be good with chole bhatore. We didn't try but high selling. Their masala chai is also decent. We also tried the dhokla but that was meh. This is a quick eat-and-go kind of restaurant. Don't come looking for ambience. Service times can get a tad long but not a biggie. Overall, a great spot to satiate some bikaneri cravings on a rainy day.

Jalebi - 2* Dal Kachori - 1* Onion Kachori - 4* Aloo Paratha - 3* Very minimal seating.

I called them to place a takeout order, and they said they don't take phone orders and to order online. I placed the order through their website, made payment, and got confirmation. However, upon arriving at the store, the staff had no information about my order. After trying to figure it out for some time, they finally called someone else from inside who was able to find my order in their system and then went about preparing it. I had to wait another 15 minutes for the food to be ready. Ordering and picking up are extremely chaotic here. The food was mediocre. I ordered poori aloo. The curry was floating in oil. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here again.

Jalebi

One of the best sweets place in the Bay Area. This place offers a variety of traditional North Indian/Rajasthani food which Jalebi and pyaaz kachori is my absolute favourite. They have a self service here and the restaurant offers enough seating for 20 people (indoor and outdoors). Do try their rasgulla, moti choor Laddus and gujiya.

Their Jalebis are fresh fried, crispy and just the right amount of sweetness. Epic. And Kachori's are good too.

The Turkey Pepper Fry and Kongu Chicken Varuval were the stars--authentic spices, great texture, and full of rich Kongu-nadu flavors. The Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani was aromatic and perfectly cooked, and the side dishes like Pacha Puli Rasam, Spinach Kootu, Veg Salna, and Pollachi Chicken Kulambu balanced the meal beautifully. Even the simpler parts of the thali--steamed rice, curd, appalam, and the delicious Badam Halwa--were made with care and tasted fantastic. For $24.99, the portion size and the variety offered were totally worth it. Entire thali was excellent. Highly recommended!

HOWEVER We ordered the Chicken Meal Family pack. It is supposed to be enough for three adults and contain 16 oz of 5 items (chicken soup, Kongunadu chicken gravy, rasam, spinach kootu, chicken 65), 8 oz of curd and vetrilai payasam, and 32 oz of white rice (8 items total). What we got was 16 oz of chicken gravy, chicken 65, 32 oz of rice with 6 basic baked chicken drumsticks, the curd and vetrilai payasam, and three hard-boiled eggs (wtf!). So six out of eight advertised dishes. And one was just eggs--they take like five minutes to make at home!!! It is hard to compare value since there were chicken drumsticks in the rice but we did not receive two entire dishes in "payment" of the drumsticks. And, ironically, we'd specifically picked this option because it was chilly and we wanted chicken soup, which ended up not being included. So...basically either false advertising or confusion at the restaurant about what is posted online. Either way, we were disappointed.

The combination of dosa with podi and soya is truly legit. Their sambar and chutneys are always fresh and delicious, and I'm a big fan of their filter coffee as well. It was suggested we add ourselves to the waitlist, but on a Tusday night for dinner it appeared to not be necessary as there were several open tables. We had a couple different idly selections as well as the Roadside Kalan and the Kovai Healthy Meal. I liked the spice in the Kalan and one of the chutneys. Our friend, who makes a lot of these dishes at home, said it was all very good. The acoustics were a challenge as voices were echoey and loud. I'd imagine with a full house it'd be near impossible to have a conversation. Service was good. Food came out fast and the staff was professional. Parking is plentiful although it's a bit tricky to get out with the traffic.

We dined here on a Tuesday evening and we retry had the restaurant to ourselves. We ordered the goat biryani, goan fish curry, aloo gobi and butter naan. The naan was the best dish we ordered. While the presentation of the biryani was nice - the flavor was rather flat and blah. The Goan curry was harsh - you could taste the spices were raw and had a bitter after taste. The waiter said that this was a spicy dish - not at all ! It was so mild. The fish portion was rather small. The aloo gobi was slightly overcooked and a little too salty. The butter naan was great - fluffy and tasted great. Unfortunately we won't be coming back to this place.

The establishment is great at navigating allergens. In my multiple visits, every time the server will double check with the kitchen on items that they are unsure about (whether or not it contains ghee or cream) which I appreciate. Some other restaurants sometimes assume that ghee is okay for me but here they ask! I ask for my roti without ghee and I have never had an allergic reaction to my food after eating here. The interior is very clean and upscale feeling. The location is a bit unassuming located on the corner of a main road in Cupertino but they have a dedicated parking lot for the restaurant which makes things super easy!

I think I found my new favorite vegan pizza spot!…read more I love the variety of traditional and Indian-inspired options. They have 10 vegan pizzas on the menu, so there are lots to choose from. Plus, you can pick your size from personal to jumbo, which is awesome because some places only offer large for vegans, and I just can't finish that much pizza. I wanted to try both a traditional and an Indian-style pizza, so luckily I had someone to share with today. I ordered a small Vegan Combo and a small Vegan Aloo Gobi on their site for pickup. I also picked up some potato wedges and a personal-sized Confused Desi (pictured but not reviewed since it was not for me). The person at the front was super friendly and engaging, I love service with a smile! My order was piping hot and ready to go; you could see the steam coming out of the box. The pizzas were loaded with toppings, and you can tell everything is fresh. I didn't add vegan cheese because I'm usually not a fan of any vegan cheeses, especially when melted. However, I don't think either pizza needed it; they were delicious! The sausage crumble on the Combo was tasty, but honestly, I think the bell peppers are my favorite part; they bring the perfect flavor and texture to the pizza. The Aloo Gobi was also really good. The sauce was rich and delicious, and the cauliflower had just the right amount of bite, which I love for texture. Plus, it had a nice kick of spice, which I'm all about. I'm excited to try more vegan options here!
