Let me be clear: Apple does not require your Apple ID or iCloud login to replace or calibrate a battery. I've since confirmed this with Apple Support and other certified repair techs. Asking for that kind of sensitive information during a basic hardware replacement is completely unnecessary and suspicious. I declined to give them my credentials and took my phone elsewhere. I strongly recommend that others do the same -- never hand over your password unless you're 100% sure it's required (spoiler: in this case, it's not). If you're considering this location, be very cautious and ask questions before agreeing to anything.

I got an email from Verizon to update my phone or something like that, so I figured what the heck…read moresince my phone was having issues anyway and I had been meaning to contact them. I scheduled the appointment for the update and new screen protector. I got a call the week of the appointment, wanting to discuss the time of the one I selected. I chose Christmas Eve Day, from like 2-5 or something like that. I ended up going a few days earlier since they assured me it would not take the full time slot. It also turned out they are not Verizon but are located near them. They are a small store; they have some phone cases and signs. I waited for someone to come from the back and then we got to talking about my phone's issues. This appointment was not for that- but I was there so what the heck. They said it would not take long, so I went and ate nearby. I came back, and they then informed me there was an app, I think McAfee that was preventing them from doing their job. I told them they could delete it- then they asked if they could delete other apps if needed to do the service. It turned out my phone was okay, but they thought there was a virus & they suggested a full reset. I did that a few days later. The issue I was having is resolved.

It had not given me a low battery warning or anything. But once I brought it they claimed it's the charger port and recommended replacing the battery so I did both because I listened to their recommendation. Spoiler, it was a big mistake. It took a whole MONTH to replace both parts. And when I finally did get it back and bring it home it turns on normally, but guess what error it gives me? If you guessed "unable to detect charger" you'd be correct! So I dropped it back off and showed them pictures and videos of the problem. I had to call back a week later because I hadn't heard anything and they tried to gaslight me into thinking I was wrong and they recommend I buy a new charger cable. Now, to anyone that has more than two braincells, this sounds like a bad original diagnostics or faulty repair and they will not fix the problem so I guess I wasted both time and money. I asked if they would at least give me a discount on a new charger and they said they can't. I originally went there because google reviews have it at 4.8 stars. What a lie. I tried leaving a review there after my experience only to realize it was being shadow banned. Should have checked yelp first, all the reviews here are more realistic.

I went home to talk to my husband about it and returned the next day. There were four employees on the floor and one of them, (Trinity) greeted me and said he would be with me soon. Each of the employees was busy assisting other customers, so I stood back and waited for a bit. After overhearing bits and pieces from their conversations, I realized it might be a while before they got to me. I asked Trinity if it would be a while and if I should come back another time. Immediately he asked what I needed and began not only helping his first customer, but me, too, at the same time. He did not ignore either one of us, but asked questions, filled out paperwork, retrieved items from the back of the store, all while continuing to work with both of us, and got us both what back and waited for a bit. After overhearing bits and pieces from their conversations, I realized it might be a while before they got to me. I asked Trinity if it would be a while and if I should come back another time. Immediately he asked what I needed and began not only helping his first customer, but me, too, at the same time. The staff at this specific Verizon store located in the Safeway parking area in Estrella Mountain Ranch were very friendly and knowledgeable about trading in this iPhone 11 Pro Max for the new and very improved iPhone 17 Pro Max, which I loved for it's larger screen size over the 11, new and far faster A19 Pro Chip, and super cool processor. The new 17 PM comes with a load of new enhancements which I absolutely love. This is a rather new store to the Estrella Mountain Ranch and I think the residents of EMR need to give it a look-see for a great staff, product line up and staff. Thank you for the great service.
