They claimed they had the part made me pay and everything waiting standing up for about 15-25 min just for them to tell me that the car has been trashed. And they didn't remove the part from the vehicle before being trashed. Very disappointed on how it played out. I don't understand why couldn't they check first to see they had the part in stock. They had all the time throughout the day to go and have the part ready for me especially when reassuring them i was on my way from 2hrs always. He told me they had the wheel in the show room and it was part of a set. I asked if I could buy just a single wheel with the tire on it. He said he would sell it to me, but it could cost $25 more, since he had to break up a set. I was a bit miffed, but I said I still wanted it. I drove over an hour to Newark to get the wheel and when I got there, Steve and his manager, Cesar, were arguing that about breaking up the set. Cesar said he would not sell it unless I bought the whole set. I told him Steve had already made a verbal contract and the price was settled over the phone. I told him I had a treacherous time driving to Newark in the rain, at a very slow pace, with trucks darting in and out all over the place. He would not budge. Finally, he agreed to sell the worst one to me for $225 cash. I had to agree to the price since it cost me time and money to travel to his location. He mentioned the tire was like new and it cost him more for the tire than what he was selling it for. The wheel was nice, but the tire was certainly not like new, and it was not the best quality tire either. I just needed a spare because my wife got a blow-out on her car's tire and she does not like driving the car with the spare on it. $50 extra. I am reporting them to the BBB tomorrow.

I get it, they're taking in about a 100 calls an hour (I saw this when I went in person too) and wouldn't want to waste any time, but I also don't want to feel hurried as I search for what I need. Something else that bugged me is when you call they answer "Bloomfield". Ok Bloomfield what? Bloomfield Police? Bloomfield College? Bloomfield Waste management? It may be nitpicking, but why not just say "Bloomfield Salvage" or "Bloomfield Wreckers". It just prompts me to reassure I got the right business by asking if this is the right place...wasting time. Anyway, I picked up a part from here and when I laid eyes on it was very hesitant as it looked like trash. the scrapper assured me it would be fine. I needed the part so I went with it, only to be told by car body worker that was just as I thought a piece of crap. When I went back to the salvage yard they were surprised that their worker let me walk out with that and swapped it for me no problem. Only thing is I had to leave as they had to remove it from the vehicle, the first piece I got was loose. What I thought was cool is they have a photo database of their salvage so they matched the junky part that I bought to the database and saw that they did have it in their inventory confirming that the other employee did give it to me and likely that it shouldn't have been listed. So if you're looking for scrap for your car, don't expect warmth. They're all business here and if they have what you need, check it carefully and be ready to exchange if need be. No returns. Parking can be a pain, so park on the other side of the street if you can.
