NON-SERVICE REVIEW ONLY:…read more Because I had seen other Yelp reviews and ratings, I got a little nervous when my husband told me he had ordered a gas tank cap online for pick-up at this Autozone. I didn't want a confrontation or for him to get upset, but the experience was fine. He was greeted by the manager when we walked in, and got the part. It appeared that the woman was training a few new associates, so perhaps some of the complaints from the reviews back in 2020-2023 may have been or are being addressed. There are positives for this store - one being location on Central Ave., and that you can easily get to it from 280 East/Freeway Dr. East, and also its private parking lot.

I came in on a weekday evening to a huge crowd. I needed my battery checked but the manager suggested for my sake I come back first thing in the morning as they were visibly swamped. Understood. So I come back the following morning to be told the person can do the actual swap is out doing retrieval/delivery and that he should return between 2 and 3pm. So I leave again which isn't the worst thing as I live close, but I am getting annoyed now. So I call this time to make sure it's a good time. The woman who answers says the guy is there and to come by. So I jump in my car and drive over within 15 min. to be told he left again for a delivery. Why would you tell me to come over? And at this point, why is there only one person who does both deliveries and servicing? She says he'll be back in 30 min. So I wait. Finally he returns but by now it looks like the previous evening. Floods of people are coming in overwhelming the team and everyone is on register, including the service guy. So I wait, and wait and wait. Finally he frees up and he is able to swap my battery. So you're asking Marcus, why are you putting up with this? Well you get a slight return when they swap out your old battery so all in one shot, they put in your battery and take you old one off your hands and credit you some money back for it. Luckily batteries don't need changing too often, but I'll think twice before coming back here. It's unfortunate because this Auto was fine before but again, the team management needs fixing and about 3 more people on staff at peak hours.

Who would have thought that a battery was so expensive and hard to find. I called the store and they had my battery in stock. I found a store that was 15 dollars cheaper and as she matched the price. The sales rep did check to see if a local store had it but had an attitude or seemed annoyed that I asked him to do it. I would think an extra courtesy or discount would have been offered for my inconvenience but no. I requested the entire order be cancelled and went a few blocks to Autozone.

My second visit here I am looking for a plate bracket and I asked for help but this attendant wouldn't budge, he didn't really seem interested advising me about the product either. My husband has been bringing his cars to this shop In West Orange for decades at this point and trusts them wholeheartedly to do repairs and perform maintenance. The other day, he told me that he goes here because they have a reputation of being honest and doing quality work at fair prices. I really rely on the car for work, so having the car in good shape is important. I want to feel confident and safe while driving the car each day and going out on the road. So I'll bring our car here for regular oil and filter changes. Recently, I brought the car over to the garage for a couple of jobs to be completed: rear brake pad and rotor service, front suspension ball joint and valve cover gasket replacements, and a wheel alignment. Not only was the diagnosis absolutely correct, but it was explained in a way that actually made sense without talking down to me. Derrick and his team have been my mechanics since I moved to West Orange in 2018, and at this point I trust them completely with my cars. They're straight shooters. If something can wait, they'll tell you. If something needs attention now, they'll show you why. No pressure, no mystery charges, no unnecessary parts swapping. From a technical standpoint, their diagnostics have been consistently spot-on. They don't just throw parts at a problem hoping something sticks; they take the time to trace the root cause, whether it's electrical, drivetrain, or something more subtle that other shops miss. The work is done right the first time, and I've never had to come back for the same issue. Pricing is fair, turnaround times are realistic, and communication is excellent. They treat you like a long-term customer, not a one-time invoice. Shops like this are rare, and if you're looking for a place you can stick with for years, this is it. I recommend them without hesitation.
