I didn't want a confrontation or for him to get upset, but the experience was fine. He was greeted by the manager when we walked in, and got the part. It appeared that the woman was training a few new associates, so perhaps some of the complaints from the reviews back in 2020-2023 may have been or are being addressed. There are positives for this store - one being location on Central Ave., and that you can easily get to it from 280 East/Freeway Dr. East, and also its private parking lot.

So I come back the following morning to be told the person can do the actual swap is out doing retrieval/delivery and that he should return between 2 and 3pm. So I leave again which isn't the worst thing as I live close, but I am getting annoyed now. So I call this time to make sure it's a good time. The woman who answers says the guy is there and to come by. So I jump in my car and drive over within 15 min. to be told he left again for a delivery. Why would you tell me to come over? And at this point, why is there only one person who does both deliveries and servicing? She says he'll be back in 30 min. So I wait. Finally he returns but by now it looks like the previous evening. Floods of people are coming in overwhelming the team and everyone is on register, including the service guy. So I wait, and wait and wait. Finally he frees up and he is able to swap my battery. So you're asking Marcus, why are you putting up with this? Well you get a slight return when they swap out your old battery so all in one shot, they put in your battery and take you old one off your hands and credit you some money back for it. Luckily batteries don't need changing too often, but I'll think twice before coming back here. It's unfortunate because this Auto was fine before but again, the team management needs fixing and about 3 more people on staff at peak hours.

I told her that I was was going to call a few more places to check their prices and she told me that her store would match the price. I found a store that was 15 dollars cheaper and as she matched the price. I went to the store and the Jamaican gentle man behind the counter was really nice and changed out the battery within a matter of minutes. Overall, great experience. THANKS!!!!

Then, I had to wait over 20 minutes on line because it seemed to only be 2 people working. I finally get to the counter to pick up my order and they must must have miscounted their inventory because they didn't have the totally quantity I ordered. The sales rep did check to see if a local store had it but had an attitude or seemed annoyed that I asked him to do it. I would think an extra courtesy or discount would have been offered for my inconvenience but no. I requested the entire order be cancelled and went a few blocks to Autozone.

I get it, they're taking in about a 100 calls an hour (I saw this when I went in person too) and wouldn't want to waste any time, but I also don't want to feel hurried as I search for what I need. Something else that bugged me is when you call they answer "Bloomfield". Ok Bloomfield what? Bloomfield Police? Bloomfield College? Bloomfield Waste management? It may be nitpicking, but why not just say "Bloomfield Salvage" or "Bloomfield Wreckers". It just prompts me to reassure I got the right business by asking if this is the right place...wasting time. Anyway, I picked up a part from here and when I laid eyes on it was very hesitant as it looked like trash. the scrapper assured me it would be fine. I needed the part so I went with it, only to be told by car body worker that was just as I thought a piece of crap. When I went back to the salvage yard they were surprised that their worker let me walk out with that and swapped it for me no problem. Only thing is I had to leave as they had to remove it from the vehicle, the first piece I got was loose. What I thought was cool is they have a photo database of their salvage so they matched the junky part that I bought to the database and saw that they did have it in their inventory confirming that the other employee did give it to me and likely that it shouldn't have been listed. So if you're looking for scrap for your car, don't expect warmth. They're all business here and if they have what you need, check it carefully and be ready to exchange if need be. No returns. Parking can be a pain, so park on the other side of the street if you can.

They have music playing in the three bay work area which is great, it keeps everyone in good spirits while working on your vehicle. Pricing was very reasonable and straightforward (and no games that are played like from my area in NYC where there is a cash vs credit price where merchants charge you 2-5% extra if you pay by credit card.) I made an appointment for my service on their website and highly recommend you do as well as opposed to walk-in service as they are very busy and then calling them to confirm that for your requested service that you can wait rather than drop off (BUT that depends on where you live and of course what you need done, I'm in NYC so I can't drop it off and leave and comeback when done, I need to wait; if I needed time consuming work / parts like the lower block changed on my J35Y6 engine due to the connecting rod recall, I'd need to leave it there and come back when done days later of course, but for fluid changes like oil/atf/differential/transfer case/break/coolant, I would wait.) For my service, they got to my vehicle quickly and the service was perfect and took the exact amount of time to do it right. I'll be coming back for service for both of my vehicles going forward. I'm coming from NYC and getting there is very convenient especially if you take the I95 to 280W. I have nothing but praise for Derrick and his team!
