AMI was outstanding! No one can beat their service! I had bought two new key fobs on Amazon for my daughter's car. Jeremiah came to my house quickly (less than the 30 minutes promised), and in 5 minutes had one programmed and ready to go. Then another 5 minutes to cut the hard key for that fob. He told me the other fob I had bought was not compatible with the car. But if I returned it and got a new one, he would be back tomorrow and would give me a discount (not charging me for the return visit). This is great customer service, because he understood my urgency - - my daughter is leaving town tomorrow night. So she'd have both new keys available. I will always use AMI Locksmith in the future! Jeremiah from AMI Locksmith was incredibly knowledgable and professional when I locked my keys in my trunk. He showed up to my location quickly, and upon seeing my car knew immediately that it wouldn't be as straightforward as we'd hoped. He drew upon his deep knowledge (15 years in the industry) and was able to trouble shoot the additional car alarm lock issue very efficiently. He leveraged his resources to get a code to make a key to open my trunk and I was out of there only 40 minutes after I'd made the original call for him to come. I was distracted on a quick run to the car, and accidentally locked myself out of my apartment. The spare key my building had on file didn't work for some reason, but they gave me a card for AMI. I called AMI at 8:07 pm on Saturday evening. The dispatcher took my information and quoted me a rate of $125 plus a $20 service fee, telling me it would take about 30 minutes to get someone out. It seemed like a fair quote for emergency locksmith service. Within 8 minutes, a technician (sadly, I didn't catch his name) had called and checked to see what I needed. 15 minutes later, he arrived at the building door and was very friendly and nice. By 8:45 pm, he had the door open. He taught me a bit about the lock, charged me the agreed upon price, and headed out. It was pretty much a perfect experience, way better than I had expected. Hopefully I learned a pricey lesson. But if I ever need locksmith service again, I know who to call! read more

Jeremiah was very efficient in answering the phone and scheduling something within hours of my call. I had a really great experience with the AMI locksmith. He was able to create a second RAV4 key for me, which is tricky because of the remote lock feature and the many key types/codes/chip combinations Toyota has produced. Tow my vehicle to the dealership, leave the car with them for 3 days, pay them $350 (on top of the towing cost and my Uber ride home after drop-off and back for pick-up). 2. First, the price that was quoted on the phone was not the price I was charged. It took over an hour for the technician to arrive (I was told it would only be 10 and after calling 45 minutes later was told I was not available when the technician arrived) and when they did arrive they were rude and indignant. What is more, the company tried to double charge me because I "did not answer my cellphone." When I requested to speak to the technician I was told he was busy so the "not available" excuse was clearly a farce. DO NOT use this company! DO NOT give them your business. I Honestly don't understand the negative reviews here. Jeremiah, the owner, showed up promptly and was very reasonable from the get go. I lost the sole key to my car and was in a bind. He made me a key at my home, walking me through the whole process. Additionally he ordered me a secondary key fob as a spare while accommodating my schedule the day it arrived. AMI Locksmith should be OUT OF BUSINESS! We hired AMI locksmiths to CHANGE 6 locks in our residence (3 doors). They quoted $50 per lock but the final bill ended up over $400. While they were working, we found out they just RE-KEYED the locks, so I called several other locksmiths and learned the re-key price was $35 or less, per lock. Shortly after the AMI locksmiths left we noticed we had 2 more locks to re-key (one door) so I called them and asked if they could do that as a courtesy because they already charged us HIGHER than the standard rate of all the other locksmiths. I think I spoke to a person by the name Aouy. He was very rude and said IF WE FOUND ANOTHER LOCKSMITH TO CONFIRM the re-key price of $35 per lock, he'd honor that price. I then called Payless Locksmith, 703-459-9977 on a conference call with Aouy and the other locksmith confirmed the re-key rate was $35 plus a $15 service call fee, no extra fees. Aouy started shouting on the phone "we quoted $50 per lock and you accepted it", and would not listen to any of my explanation that they quoted CHANGE the locks but actually RE-KEYED them. I told him this was not a good way to do business, the other locksmith would have charged us $295 for ALL 8 locks to re-key (8 x $35 = $280 + $15 = $295) while AMI charged us over $400 for the 6 locks. We ended up using Payless Locksmith for the last door, who were great, but a bunch of other local locksmiths (e.g Metro Locksmith in Vienna, VA) quoted the lower re-key price as well. AMI Locksmith Services is a TOTAL RIP OFF and their customer service is abysmal! The new keys they gave us were strange - some were new, some very old. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCKSMITH! read more

I felt like it was a bit expensive, but they did arrive very quickly considering it was rush hour and came back the next day for free to check the lock when I thought it was not working properly. I recently locked myself out of my house. I called AMI Locksmith and waited about 45min-1 hour for their arrival. They did get us into the house, however they had to drill through the deadbolt because the locksmith did not have the correct tool to open it without damaging it. I was disappointed that they had to do this because he should have had the proper tool, but he said it just broke. They shouldn't send people out without the proper tools. We not only had to pay a couple hundred dollars to have them come out and spend 10 minutes drilling our lock, but also had to immediately go to the store and purchase a new one. read more

I give them zero stars. This is a total bait and switch operation and this company should NOT be trusted. I was quoted a price over the phone. $19 to re-key plus $15 for service call. When the guy arrived, he told me it was $35 to re-key or $75 to put a new door lock on (I could buy the door lock for $20 at Home Depot). I gave the $15 and kicked him out of my house. My garage keypad died and I needed to get into my car to get to my garage door opener. I did a quick Google search and these guys came up, when I contacted who I assume was the owner he promised 30 minute service and that the locksmith would call me in a few minutes. The locksmith contacted me as promised and told me he was on a job and would be finished in 30 minutes which he did. He then said he would be there in 30, so an hour total wait after being promised 30 minute service. I had both of my dogs out on a walk and the temperatures were under 50°. I called the locksmith back after he didn't show up in the 30 minute time frame he said he would because he stated he was in traffic, total wait time from when I contacted them until they actually arrived was 90 minutes at which point he tried to charge me $200 to unlock a '01 Civic. I knew the process in which they use to unlock cars and knew the service shouldn't go for more the $45. I told the guy there wasn't a chance I was paying him $200 so he tried to negotiate it to $175 at which time I told him I'll pay him $100 or he can leave my house to which he agreed but only after trying to get me to pay cash which I refused. Look somewhere else before being scammed by these unethical people. Everyone's trying to get theres. read more

ZERO STARS. I had a horrible experience with AMI Locksmith. It took over 45 minutes for the guy to show up. He needed to reprogram the car and wanted to charge us an extra $200 to have someone else with a high-tech system to come out and do it. The website CLEARLY states that they do NOT charge extra for nights and weekends. After we told him we could not pay that on top of the $110 he wanted to originally charge us, he told us to call back tomorrow morning so he would only charge us $140. He said it would cost less during the day time. I explained to him that the website says they do not charge more and his response was, "no, not really". We had to pay the $110 because he had already cut the key. So now we have a key but the car still will not start because it was not reprogrammed. I would not recommend this company. They use false advertising and over charge. read more

Highway robbery! This company brags about a low $15 service call just to try and coerce you into paying outrageous amount to actually provide the service. This company appears to be some sort of scam where independent contractors are contacted to represent AMI and then try and line their pockets rather than actually provide excellent service at a reasonable rate. Disappointed. Plan on beginning a Facebook campaign against this company!! AMI Locksmith is a company with little to no integrity. It recently came to create a key for my vehicle and initially stated it could provide the service for $250 until I refused to pay such a high price. After my refusal, the price quickly went down to $200. So, what that told me was if the client they were attempting to serve was an elderly or desperate person, they would have gladly charged the $250 rather than the "better deal" of $200. This seems to be predatory practices on its customers. Why would this company not give the best price it could offer FIRST? That tells me that even the $200 figure was inflated to line their pockets rather than provide excellent service and garner a respectable business reputation. read more
