When in the gardening section the gentleman there was giving great advice, but mentioned he wished that someone else was there. He stepped away to call the person whose day off it was, who agreed with his advice, and then came back and followed up with us to ensure that we were doing the best thing for our new landscaping. I don't know when I've had better customer service, these people know their stuff and actually care about your home. Do not hesitate to give them your business!

That said, I'm top coating the deck on a sailboat and needed a very soft tipping brush. The ox hair brush by Purdy was $39.00, but if it didn't leave lines in the finish I was okay with it. Fast forward to this morning, I go out to the boat at 6:00 am and begin the roll and tip topcoat. However with every other stroke the brush was shedding bristles into the finish. Long story short I take the brush back to Elliots and the front desk clerk, says we can't take back brusjes that have been used. I said how could I know the brush is defective if I didn't use it. He then says that's not what's happening here. You bought the brush, used and now that you're finished you're returning it. Anyway the store mgr. ultimately made it right, but my issue is being accused of being a thief, I was definitely not okay with that and I expressed that to him in language the preacher shouldn't hear.

They told me I had to buy a new blank or they couldn't do it. People shop at places like Jabos to get the service you can't get at the box stores. The young man couldn't figure out how to operate the machine and wouldn't admit it. Then he got a lady who gave me the "you have to buy from us" routine. Neither were friendly. Then the manager finally came and gave me the same routine. Finally I asked him if he was going to be able to help me. I asked the question in a way that got to the point and made him decide. He stammered around and never did answer. At that point I did say "shit" to which he got immensely offended and started pointing his finger at me. "The new machine won't let us". Surely there is an override and in the rare event that there isn't, I hope the owner takes note. Needless to say, but I won't be returning to the local small business because of two things. Poor attitude and poor service. As the manager of a small store, you have to make big decisions. they made me feel as though I was at one of the big box stores. The sad thing is that I shop there because I had come to enjoy and expect the service, in a world that service is hard to find. Before you judge me, let me ask you. Additionally, the self-propelled feature felt clunky and was difficult to maneuver, making the mowing experience more cumbersome than convenient. I was hoping to make the switch away from gas and oil for conveince and environmental reasons, but unfortunately, this unit doesn't meet my needs. I've decided to return to using my old reliable gas mower for now. Now for Ace, I tried to return the mower after using it for 30-minutes and cleaning it up. What he expected to be a regular trip to the store turned into a disappointing and saddening experience. My Dad went to the self-checkout hoping to purchase his items, only to be met with rude behavior and poorly disguised microaggression from an older employee named "James". This employee yelled at my Dad in front of other customers and even said: "You don't know what I'm saying," completely dismissing my Dad's concerns. When my Dad went to complain to the manager on duty, she had excused this employee's behavior by saying: "Maybe he's having a bad day." We all have bad days, but that shouldn't be an excuse to embarrass and humiliate a customer who's simply trying to shop. My Dad has had many other issues with this store, but this was the final straw. He has been a loyal customer at this store for 15 years, and we can confidently say that we will no longer shop at this location. I also advise against any other Hispanic/Spanish-speaking people from shopping here. My Dad was able to advocate for himself today because he knows English, but I worry about those who don't, especially during these unpredictable times.
