Great on-line customer service. I order on line now after having back surgery a few months ago. My major order was 3 bags of pea gravel which is too heavy for me to be lifting. I placed my order on-line around 1 pm and it was ready with in 20 minutes. When I arrived within 8 minutes Kaitlyn their fulfilment associate was out with my order and a smile. She check my information and asked me where I wanted my item to be loaded. She picked up the three bags one by one and placed them in my Jeep; no help from anyone. I was calling the nursery department to check stock and price on a shubb. This young man told me he was to busy to check. This has never happened before and it was very unprofessional. I did not think to get his name but the recording this was being taped. It wasn't like I was going to buy thousands of dollars worth of plants but lam sure 15 red tips would have been 2 or 3 hundred dollars. Customer Service is not like it use to be. This Lowes is a joke. Their warranties they sell are worthless. They charge you for the warranty, but then when you need service, you have to go through a 3rd party. The 3rd party is useless. It has been a month now since my claim was submitted, and my wash machine is still broke. This was our go-to hardware, etc store back in Carrollton. All in all, very good store - especially for being a big-box chain. Sometimes I still drive down to shop there. Selection is what you'd expect from a big-box chain: excellent. They have way more choices and "stuff" in general than somewhere like Ace - and I love Ace. The flipside is some items only come in what most people buy most often, and that item may be a piece of crap. Sometimes the masses just want the cheapest crap they can buy, and sometimes I want something a little higher quality of at least middle of the road. But in general they have what I want or at least close. They tend to carry quality items in more arenas. Service is hit or miss. In general, I've had very good help at this store. I can find someone knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. Other times it's a stereotypical big-box store and no help is to be found. That's the way these stores go. Customer service is excellent. Anytime I've had an issue, they take care of me. Period. No exceptions. I've brought back long-warranty items, like back when CFL light bulbs were a big deal. They claimed to last X number of years. If they didn't, I brought them back - and Lowes would get me a replacement. Other times I had defective items or items that simply didn't work well. I brought them back - and Lowes would offer store credit at worst, a refund or replacement at best. They always helped. Great customer service. A knock against corporate Lowes is their garden / plants area. They use pesticides that kill bees. Once I learned that, I stopped shopping their plants area. So sad. They had some good stuff. But bees are now endangered and they pollenate EVERYthing... so they're pretty important little fellas. NEVER buy plants from Lowes. Nasty, nasty business. (Same with Home Depot, FYI.) But I can't fault this particular store for that; it's really a commentary on Lowes corporate philosophy and items everyone should boycott (IMHO). Oh dear. Dear....dear....hello, dear? Are you there? I need worm castings. Who the hell would actually want this?? Someone who makes their own gardening soil mixes. So, I call on a friday morning as the store is opening. (Apparently, everyone who works in the gardening department is never available to answer the phone because no matter how many times I call on my own, or are then subsequently transferred there from customer service...NO ONE PICKS UP THE PHONE.) So anyway, after calling the gardening department about 3 times a bit after the store had just opened, to no avail, I called customer service. Got a lovely gal, who said..."I can help, since I haven't gotten busy yet." Fantastic. I ask about the castings and she says that she needs an order number to place an order for me to pick up in store. Since I'm driving. I can't do that. When I try to order for pick up in store online...it says the option for in store pick up isn't available. And I don't want to wait a week to have the order delivered to my home. Boy oh BOY, do I wish I had just worked with her and figured it out. Because holy shitballs...what happened next almost made me pop an eyeball. Here's my experience calling on Saturday 4/3/21 at 4:30-5:30pm: Call Garden center 3 times. No one picks up. Goes to the the rapid beeps bc no one picks up. Called Customer service to tell him I can't get a hold of the gardening center. Kid tells me he'll transfer me to gardening: NO WAIT...oh boy, here we go again. no answer....rapid beeps. Calls customer service, rude ass girl "Lowes, pls hold"....no questions...just "pls hold." Who trained this heifer? Seriously, I want to know who told ANYONE EVER in customer service, that the right way to answer a call at CUSTOMER SERVICE is..."Lowes, pls hold." and then...cue elevator music. I purchased a microwave in early January and was assured it was immediately available . I waited a week or so for them to measure for the install kit. They then called me 3 weeks later saying the install kit wouldn't be in until three months later. So I got a refund and started over and this time even spoke to the tall red headed department manager at 1253 east trinity mills road . The manager understood that this time I want to be sure both the kit and the microwave was available and explained to the employee to check on both and so game on, we picked one where both the kit and the microwave showed in stock they said. Then 3 weeks later after I follow up to see why they haven't scheduled the install they said the microwave has a 4 month back order . When I asked the red headed manager (who did remember me from before ) why or how this could be since my microwave was already reserved and spoken for , he put all the blame on the manufacturer and said to me that when he last told me the microwave was I stock that they didn't actually have it in Loews warehouses but it was the manufacturer who made the mistake of showing it was available and supposedly reserved for me. Loews takes no responsibility for messing me around for 6 whole months . Where I blame Loews is that they never once told me that when they show the unit is available and in stock that it 1) doesn't necessarily mean it's reserved for me 2) that Loews doesn't have warehouses where the units are at . Loews should have told me "sir, I show this is in stock but it's not in stock with us the hardware store , we mean in stock as per the manufacturer. If I had known that when Loews says YES SIR it's in stock and you've bought it and it's reserved for you is based on what the manufacturer website shows , I would have never trusted that . They don't tell you or warn you that "in stock" may possibly mean out of stock after you bought it and been told it's in stock. This has been the worst nightmare mainly becuase their employees and managers are not being up front warning customers that I stock doesn't necessarily mean it'll stay that way and hey don't warn customers that when they purchase a I stock item , it doesn't mean it's been actually reserved for you , and they also don't warn customers about the fact that lately due to Covid and labor supply constraints , it's very possible my order could end up delayed . That's where I blame Loews , total lack of upfront honesty . Don't you dare tell me it's in stock and it's yours and then later call me two different occasions with my two attempts to say "sorry sir, we blame the manufacturer , Your unit won't be available for 6 months. Can I just do 1/2 a star? We went to this store intending to purchase a grill as well as other items for the home we just moved in to RIGHT up the road. We had over $200 in our cart and just needed help getting the grill we wanted. (Approximately shorter $200) We had someone paged TWICE with one of those being the Manager David and the other just general assistance with grills. I went up a 3rd time giving a 5 minute warning that we're not waiting any longer for just anyone to come and help us get the grill After 45 minutes, we left basket and all and walked out of the store. Managers had plenty of pages to the registers but no one had time for us. SO CLOSE and conveniently located to our house that will need several things to come. I drove to the curbside pick up lane, I called the telephone number to have my purchase delivered to my car. TI went through the prompts as posted on the pick up lane and was put on hold for 13 minutes and 25 seconds before the call was disconnected. I then went inside to customer pick up and waited in line to get my item. After a long wait I requested to speak to a manager. The customer service paged a manager 3 times with no response. After 15 minutes, a manager named Becky returned from here meal broke and took the time to hear my complaint. They damaged my cabinets and both parties are pointing fingers at each other. I had a major dishwasher instillation problem and when I call to get it resolved, suddenly the install manager is out and won't be back till Monday. No one will call you back like they say they will. They just take the complaint, write down your number and don't answer when you call. It's been a week and a half and no one has called or resolved my issue. When I go talk to management they are not helpful. They just try and pawn your problem on to someone else. When you call corporate's number it's the same problem!! Ugh I always put Lowes above Home Depot but I don't think I will be coming back to this one. I waited in the flooring department for 20 minutes trying to get someone ANYONE to help me. He had a customer. But there was NO ONE you could send back just to give us some customer service? Then the carpet guy finally comes back and first thing he says is "oh yeah you called the store on your personal phone? I heard about that" and rolls his damn eyes. I don't see how this location surviving any more than a few more years. I bought a toilet from them and they managed to send me different color tank. When I call 1-800 number I was told that I had to return the toilet to the store and reorder another toilet, they wouldn't even try to automatically sent the correct order.
