We went for the dinner buffet on February 8, 2020 and we learned that no one under 21 is allowed to walk to the buffet. We have been going for years. Our son loves the crab legs. Needless to say we were turned down. I was so disappointed that they took this away from families trying to enjoy blackhawk and the buffet.very very very poor management and ownership of this casino. I guess they do not want to have families at their casino. We will never again darken their doorstep. We went to isle of caprice where still allow families to enjoy their buffet. In my opinion noone should go to the ameristar ever again what a joke of a casino. They dont deserve a one star. read more

This is my favorite casino in colorado. They buffet is alright but nothing special. Is any buffet really that good but whatever. This place is very nice inside and out. My game of choice is always craps and there usually is room to play all the time. The rooms are really nice here too. read more

I am extremely disappointed in this place. Obviously under new ownership the customer service that we got was absolutely her Renda's I left something in the room and they will not mail it to me and I don't live there. So I talk to the assistant general manager and he said he would mail it to me and I never got it. What's even worse is to be light to we will or nor anyone else we know will ever stay at this place again it is really gone down hill the customer service all throughout the whole place was horrendous read more

Property - Very nice hotel. Looks new, impressive lobby area. Very well maintained. Location is great, right in the middle of Black Hawk. Walking distance to all Black Hawk casinos. A free bus stops here every 20-30 minutes and will drop you off at every other Black Hawk and Central City casino if you don't want to walk. Security is very visible throughout the casino. Definitely felt safe there. Valet parking is free. A parking garage is attached. For quicker parking, enter the garage on the 5th floor off of Richman Avenue. Free Wi-Fi is available and the speed is acceptable for e-mail and basic web access. Check-In/Out Experience - Check-in time is 3 PM. We arrived early at 1 PM. We reserved two rooms. One of the rooms was ready and the room for our daughter was not, but they took my cell phone number and promised to call when it was ready. They called at 3:45 PM to let me know that the second room was ready. Check-in was less than 5 minutes and the clerk was very pleasant. Check-out was done via text message. Food/Restaurants (Number, room service available) - There were three restaurants plus a buffet. Room service was available. Items were roughly $2 to $3 more expensive on the room service menu vs the restaurant menu. Room (#, seating, desks, drawers/storage, iron, fridge, coffee, microwave, power ports, tv) - Room # 1724. Deluxe King Non-Smoking room. Nice, large room. There were two leather chairs in the room. There was a small table/desk with two desk chairs. 37" HD TV with DirecTV and HBO. There were plenty of small drawers for storage. There was an in-room safe which was large enough for my laptop computer. A small coffee pot and coffee was in-room, plus a refrigerator with two complimentary bottles of water. No microwave. An iron and ironing board was in the hall closet. Plenty of power outlets were available. Housekeeping - This was the worst part of the hotel. The room was spotless when we checked in. Housekeeping didn't clean our room until after 4 PM on Monday and didn't clean our room at all on Tuesday. I had to call Guest Services and ask for fresh towels on Tuesday evening. Over an hour later the front desk called and asked if we had received the towels. We had not. They apologized and promised to get us fresh towels. Another 45 minutes later a housekeeper delivered the towels. The front desk called again to make sure we received them. They very obviously need to hire more housekeeping staff or find ways to make them more efficient. Bed & Pillow Comfort - This is always subjective as everyone's comfort preferences are different. For us the bed was too firm and the pillows were too soft. We found it difficult to sleep and tossed and turned trying to find a comfortable position. Bedding was clean and fresh. Temperature Control - We were unable to reduce the room temperature below 70 degrees. We like it cold at night, so this may have contributed to our tossing and turning all night. Bathroom - Extremely nice, large bathroom. Marble tile floors and granite counter on the double-sink vanity. Glass enclosed shower and separate tub. Toilet was in a separate room with door off the main bathroom area. High quality shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, face soap and body soap were provided. Hair dryer was provided in a bag under the vanity. Booking & Cost: I booked this room directly through the hotel's website. Cost was: 2/21 - $103.20; 2/22 - $95.20; 2/23 - $95.20; Tax - $30.53; Total - $324.13 Overall - Despite the housekeeping and temperature control issues, it's a very nice hotel and overall we were satisfied. For the price we paid it was better than expected. Dates: 2/21/2016-2/24/2016 Cleanliness Rating: 2 (out of 5) Comfort Rating: 3.5 (out of 5) Overall Rating: 3.5 (out of 5) Would I Stay Here Again: Yes read more

Our family has been going to Ameristar buffet for lunch for years. AMERISTAR has new owners. The food at the buffet can be found at your local gas station. THE FOOD WAS HORRIBLE! Such a disappointment. We will be looking for another buffet in the Blackhawk Co. Location probably going to return to Calypsos at the Isle. I would recommend eating anywhere but the Ameristar, unless you used to gas station type food. And the price is outrageous $14.00 for crappy food. Hat Aneristar, when you serve soup,. .soup is better when it's hot. DISGUSTING FOOD!!!! read more

Not impressed. I booked a luxury room here for 2 nights.. definitely a splurge and for a special weekend. The room was prepaid. When we arrived, the staff, including the manager, told us that the luxury room we had already paid for was not available and that they would be downgrading us to a delux room. When asked why, the answer was that "we can't guarantee that you'll get that room" In order to pacify us, they offered a 50 dollar credit to their own restaurant, even though the difference in price was actually 60+ dollars that was already paid. After about 30 minutes, the manager decided "ok fine I can give you 60 dollars but not more than that" After paying 630 dollars to stay in an upscale resort, we were absolutely not treated with respect. The girl at the front desk was very nice and trying to do her job, but seems like the manager may need a lesson in customer service. The rooms are very nice and clean. Tried ordering room service in the morning and phone kept ringing and ringing. If I were you I'd save the money and stay somewhere else... so disappointed:( read more

I've been up here twice, and I enjoyed it both times. The cocktail waitresses didn't bother stopping to ask if we wanted or needed anything. They asked how we were while walking by so fast that by the time we answered, they were long gone. My brother and I played the slots for a while, and we both ended up coming out ahead. Since he won more than I did, we went to the buffet and had a nice dinner using his winnings. I enjoyed the crab legs and beef tenderloin, and everything else was pretty tasty. If we come back to Black Hawk, we will come here. read more

I was surprised at how many casinos there are in Black Hawk. I chose Ameristar based on the Yelp reviews and was not disappointed. Parking was tough to find on Labor Day. I had to go all the way up to find a spot. I did not have to do much walking to find the blackjack tables. I sat down and spent 8 hours playing to win $115. I had a great time and they even comped me for $15 at the deli restaurant. The casino is non smoking which is a huge plus. Only complaint is that it was very difficult to find the exit on parking deck when leaving. Signs are confusing. Other than this, I had a wonderful time. read more

Having been up here to Black Hawk with my family many times and also tried a few of the casinos in South Lake Tahoe, I would say this was in the medium range for small-sized casinos. It's just a little bit bigger and nicer than the other casinos in town, but there isn't anything that stands out a lot. The buffet was decent at $17pp with crab legs and a pretty wide selection of food. It's also nice that they have self serve soda and coffee stations all over the casino. read more

I'm only giving one star and that is because of the very nice woman at the front desk when we checked out. Otherwise I would have given as many negative stars as possible. We reserved a king suite, after looking around, it was filthy!! The bathtub had grime and hair all over it. The floors were stained and filthy and the bed was barely made. We called the front desk and the man offered no apology and could not have cared less. He moved us to a double queen standard room which was obviously a downgrade. The second room smelled like body odor and the bathroom wall looked like someone had picked their nose and repeatedly flicked it. We have stayed here before with no issues. Evidently the place is under new ownership-they are failing miserably. We won't be back. read more

Decent room (not for the $239) but clean and a regular room so I can't complain. Complimentary coffee and wired internet access (no wifi) in the room. Room service had an answering machine saying "no one was available but leave a message and someone will... Blah blah". Well surprise, over 90 minutes later and no return call. Have called several times since and the same thing. Really disappointing given the price of the room and the decent gambling they have. I guess I just expect a "resort" to have that type of service and this one doesn't. read more

Honestly, the only reason I gave this place a two star review is because the pool was nice and the hot tub, and also the dealers at our tables for blackjack! As a place that stays "open" serving alcohol 24/7 they should have some sort of food place open as well. The only thing that they have available are small chip bags at the front desk. The manager we spoke to Francisco was probably one of the rudest people we have talked to since being here. NOT accommodating at all, while we were up their 3 other people came up asking the same thing about food. He then threatened to call security on us, so we then asked for his boss who was extremely nice and although they couldn't fix the food problem he was still understanding. Not surprised they put Francisco on the night shift so he doesn't have to talk with many people because he is not a people person, highly recommend speaking with a different manager if you are stuck talking with him, awful just awful. We spent money on gambling plus a early dinner and a hotel room. For spending money at a place like this, I expect top notch service but guess that was to much to ask for. read more

The place to be seen in Black Hawk. Of course the drinks are pricey and the slots are super tight, but the rooms are nice and the bar downstairs usually has some kickin' entertainment! Great little date night out. And free parking, sweeeet!! read more

Wow. By far the best casino hotel in Blackhawk. This place has the feel of a mid level vegas casino; the rio or mgm grand come to mind. Fast friendly check in. My room was available early. And was nice. Large room with mini bar and coffee maker. It even has a safe in the room if you hit it big (I did not need to use it). The bathroom was fabulous. Seperate bath and commode. Plus a bathtub and walk in shower. Sugestion to staff. Shower tile is slippery and non slip mat is hard to find. You have alot of lets say experienced guests that this could be dangerous and create issues. Just a heads up. Now for the casino. The only place in Blackhawk that I have been that you can get a drink while playing slots. Cocktail staff are attentive and nice. Pit also welcoming. Food. The late night cafe has really good pizza $8 feeds about two. I forget its name but is a good value and the food was good. The Fireside cafe had a great breakfast. A huge tasty plate off fluffy eggs ssusage and pancakes. This got the fifth star. Our waiter Joe was a pro. One negative was the Starbucks. Preoccupied staff and a cold morning bun. Ill blame that on Starbucks and not count it in my review. Thanks for the great experince will be back soon. read more

This buffet was less than mediocre. Selections were not typical choices. The cod was hard and dry. Sesame chicken was too hard to chew. Soup was ok. The turkey was dry, tri tip was overdone. The lighting in the area was very low making it difficult to know which selection was which. It was not a good experience. read more

If I am planning a getaway, this is the place to stay at. The accommodations are similar to a fancy hotel on the Las Vegas strip (Cesar's palace) Let's just say it is the nicest one in Blackhawk and Central City combined. This is the only hotel that has a swimming pool and 2 hot tubs. There are on the top floor (34th fl). The pool is 4ft deep. There is a hot tub outside and there is one inside. The pool/hot tub is open till 11pm. From 9pm-11pm its for adults only. I have came here 2 Christmas' in a row. The town is nicely lighted for the holidays. There is also a free shuttle to take you around Blackhawk and Central city, but seeing that the casinos in Blackhawk are pretty close together, you can just walk it, if you can. Some casino's have a skyway to walk between hotels (Lady Luck, to isle Capri) I don't recommend their Centennial Buffet. It is pricey than any other casino in the area. Came here yesterday for Christmas Buffet and it was $32.95/person. The food was mediocre. The buffet stations were dirty. It would be nice if there was staff to clean up the stations a bit and food was not being stocked in good time. Except for the unlimited Crab legs you can eat. They were tasty but not very meaty. The prime rib was tasty. They have stations that are: Asian, Italian, American, Mexican, Dessert, Salad bar (with not many fixin's). For the price, not what I expected. I would say go to Isle of Capri for their Buffet, Or Monarch (which is where we should have went) it was $26.99 for all you can eat crab, lobster, prime rib etc) I ordered room service yesterday morning (2 eggs, hash brown, sausage patty & English muffin-$18.00). They came 45 min later with 2 omelets and 2 hashbrowns. I called to complain. Took them another hr to bring the correct meal. (**My fault for not checking it first, but still) My thoughts in general for Ameristar: Great place to stay, never win at this casino, the food is meh, the service is good. Play at other casinos and their food. read more

Best in Black Hawk by far for hotel stay!! Had a Spa room for a week, and it was stunning! Check out the pics and that is what you get...beautiful!! Casino has good slots and payouts if you jump around. Do not stay on same machine once you get a good hit...move on or lose. Tables are good. Service is great all around. It is not Vegas and no "shops" to visit in area. Does have free shuttles to other casinos, and dispensaries in the stops if you care to indulge. Pool/spa very nice. Food is decent. My favs for the week were the tacos from the "Deli", and turkey club from Fireside grill. Onion rings and fries anywhere were delish! Buffet was ok...very heavy food tho...wanted more fresh food vs greasy...sorry. Overall fun trip for first time in Denver area. WYSIWYG in that area...no competition is the issue. read more

Great Casino. Classy and the dealers were good people. HOT CRAPS TABLES!

Dear Ameristar, Your website states the following about your company: Our company's culture is guided by our values - Integrity, Care, Excellence, Innovation and Ownership. It's through these values that we fulfill our commitment to remain focused on doing the very best for our team members, guests and shareholders. However, when my family and I--all 18 of us--dined at the Centennial Buffet earlier this evening, we didn't experience the Care and Excellence that your company prides itself in when it comes to your commitment to remaining focused on doing the very best for us, your guests. When we made plans to dine at the Centennial Buffet, we had planned for a joyous evening to celebrate my new job. The evening started off pleasantly with a friendly host who seated us and continued to be so with the hard-working servers who took our drink orders and took away our dirty plates diligently like clockwork. But the evening turned sour about 1.5 hours into our dining experience when Mr. Jonathan Inger, an employee at the buffet, approached my party and asked us to present our receipt, which we had given to our host earlier when we were seated. At this point, he made us feel like we had snuck into the dining room and were eating a free dinner. To make it worse, when he retrieved the receipt from the host, he said we had overstayed the 45-minute dining time limit at the buffet. To this, we pointed out four things to him if a 45-minute dining time limit policy existed: 1. Nowhere in the vicinity or inside of the dining room is there a sign displaying this 45-minute dining time limit. 2. Nowhere on the receipt is this 45-minute dining time limit printed. 3. Nowhere on the Ameristar website can this 45-minute dining time limit be found. 4. The host never informed us before, during, or after we were seated that there is a 45-minute dining time policy. Despite these four points we made, Mr. Inger ignored them all and kept telling us that he would call security to escort us out if we did not leave and continued to argue with him. He also made claims that the other diners in the room, who had been there longer than us, were allowed to stay because they had paid more money. As we kept pressing him for concrete documentation on the buffet's policy, he seemed to pull excuses from the air and continued to threaten us with the casino's security. It was ridiculous and humiliating, as this happened in front of other diners at the buffet. We asked for a manager, but Mr. Inger refused to produce one and continued to threaten to call security on us. The five toddlers in the party were crying, and my parents, senior citizens who don't understand much English and were just trying to enjoy their crab legs, were shocked and confused at all the commotion. At this point, we decided to leave before a bigger scene was created, as we did not want the young children in the party to be traumatized by being escorted out by security. But what had we done wrong? We paid for our meals like any other customer. We stood in line to get our food like all of the other diners. We were first-class citizens like the rest of our fellow diners. So why were we treated like second-class citizens when he had done nothing wrong? My entire party left Ameristar upset and disappointed, but I stuck around with my husband to speak to a manager, as a joyous evening turned into a humiliating one. I recounted our humiliating dining experience to a Mr. Christopher Ford, Assistant Casino Manager, who tried to make things right by apologizing for Mr. Inger's behavior and presenting me with 10 complimentary buffets on a future visit, as he made it clear that NO SUCH TIME LIMIT EXISTS at the Centennial Buffet. In fact, there is NO TIME LIMIT when dining at the buffet. He was baffled at the whole situation and wasn't quite sure why Mr. Inger did what he did to us. Mr. Ford also gave me his business card and told me to contact him if anything like this ever happens again at the Centennial Buffet in the future. Though I appreciate Mr. Ford's apology on behalf of Ameristar and the 10 complimentary buffets, I am not sure if my family and I will ever dine at the Centennial Buffet again, even if it's complimentary, for two reasons: (1) This experience has left a sour taste in our mouths. (2) Why do we have to worry about this happening again and having to contact Mr. Ford to diffuse the situation? Shouldn't all employees at Ameristar treat every customer with respect and dignity? Shouldn't every diner be able to eat in peace without the fear of being escorted out of the restaurant based on a fictional dining time limit? read more

having stayed at Mirage, circus circus, harrahs, , aria, this Ameristar hotel was better, rooms nice, pool on roof great, casino is not that large, table games get crowded, parking is not that easy only 2 craps tables, but have a nice restaurant and a nice buffet, and a cafe with overpriced meals. Went to the Fireside Kitchen for a decent sit down meal to order at a decent price. Ordered a smoked apple wood beacon cheddar burger cooked medium. The beacon was not applewood smoked tasted like the nasty deep fried breakfast buffet beacon I endured at breakfast. The burger was well done and dry so I put my coleslaw on it to moisten it. No taste at all... but I was hungry enough that I didn't want to send it back. I won't go there again. read more

We came in from Chicago and spent 2 nights at the hotel. The casino area is clean and up to date. Looks like they are doing a little remodeling. The drinks are free with a cocktail waitress but at the bar a beer is $3.00..The hotel room was decent until i started finding a few items that housekeeping missed. First, I don't think they changed the sheets because I found a fake fingernail in the bed near my feet (gross). Second, There was poop smeared on the wall in the bathroom near the door. I left a note for housekeeping while we were gone all day but they never showed up. I had to track them down to get a roll of toilet paper. Will I go back to Blackhawk, sure but will I stay at Ameristar, No. I enjoyed the Lodge casino better. Not sure about the rooms but it's worth a try. read more

Played at Black hawk last night and was really impressed by the service! Super friendly and helpful. Played poker and they have quite the action if you looking for that. Also if you get hungry, timberline grill is awesome! Great food, great wine selection and service was impeccable. Thanks for a great time Ameristar! read more

We visited this resort as part of a limo casino tour package we bought through Living Social with friends. This is by far the nicest casino and hotel in Black Hawk. We mistakenly went to another one first. Nope. The Ameristar is beautiful inside. It had floors of games and when we were done gambling we found this awesome bar right in the middle with fireplaces and a live band ( the stage is an impressive raised platform above the bar, btw ). We hung out on comfy couches and our waitress brought me my new favorite drink, Blue Moon with OJ, which was only $3! We also grabbed some snacks Togo before getting back in the limo and the food was unexpectedly good. We had some fresh sweet potato fries ( fresh as in made to order with not frozen spuds, not fresh as in fly or dope. Actually...that too. ) Our friends said their breakfast burrito was amazing. The tables are expensive but you can find some fun slots ( like Princess Bride! ) and a friend doubled her money! Overall, totally fun ad would go back for sure! read more

It was really nice casino. My first time to Blackhawk, Colorado. We got there about 8pm not really knowing what to expect. It was like a mini Vegas nestled in the mountains. I was expecting it to be on a Indian reservation. Nope. Awesome. The garage parking was nice, easy, and free. I was expecting to have to pay for drinks.. they were free too. They didn't have high limit tables either which is good. All the dealers were friendly. I think if I go back I would like to stay here! read more

Ok, so this encompasses the entire experience (casino, hotel) that I've had. I've been to the casino about four times now, and most recently stayed there on my last trip. The good: The hotel itself is fantastic. The rooms are huge, the bathrooms are great, and wherever your view is, it's beautiful. Pool and spa on the roof are fun. The buffet downstairs is always a hit. The bad: My keys stopped working no less than 4 times. There were no toiletries in the room when we arrived, and it appeared as though someone had been in our room before our arrival - the blankets and comforters were in a ball. It took three calls to the front desk/housekeeping to get toiletries. The casino itself is a nice space - I'm not a gambler, and I don't particularly like it, so I'm never down there much. However, when I went to get a wristband, it was like having to call the queen for a pardon. My CO DL is about a week old, and apparently came up with all these alerts on their system. Took awhile to actually get one after 'clearing' the alerts. My Star card or whatever it is that I had gotten the last time I was there stopped working abruptly. Like I said, I'm not a big gambler, and don't really enjoy it, so I spent more time wandering than anything. This is a good hotel, good casino, just not for me, and the experience could have been better. read more

I am not a "gaming" person, but this place is pretty great! Service is top and very enjoyable environment! Black Hawk is is rich in history of mining in Colorado, and there is always something fun to do in town. The scenery lovely and prices are very reasonable. read more

The pool and room are nice... Other than that, this place has nothing going on other than gaming. The restaurant options stink.

My husband and I checked in and found the first room we were given less than satisfactory: no glasses/cups for coffee or water, carpet clearly not vacuumed, 2 upholstered straight-back chairs unbelievably filthy. Picked up the phone to talk with the front desk about the room and it was dead. Used my cell to reach customer service. We were given a new room. Chairs were still quite stained, but everything else was better. Even in the 2nd room, it's clear there is little attention to details. For the price of these rooms, they should be near perfect. Overpriced and rooms/furniture are well used/gross. And, it's like they are doing something really big when they give you a couple of free small water bottles. I don't plan to ever stay here again. read more

AMERISTAR FIASCO #3 = THE LAST STRAW!!!! My Mom and I were staying at the Ameristar Casino Hotel tonight. At about midnight, she was asleep and I was in the bath. Suddenly a loud alarm sounds and an announcement to evacuate the building, "this is an emergency." We rally and get ourselves to the stairwell and these poor elderly people are freaking out in there trying to get down the 32 flights of stairs! No hotel staff anywhere! Just frightened people. Then the SADDEST thing ever - this family was having to carry their paraplegic son in a metal wheelchair down and the boy was so scared he was vomiting all over. It was terrible! We finally get to bottom, still no hotel staff, and see that there are still people coming and going from the casino as if nothing else happened. We go back inside and my Mom is yelling "where the heck are the hotel staff to help?" and the on-duty manager, Noele, comes over and starts yelling at my Mom! We got nothing but excuses and were deflected to the security manager, Brandon, who was all of about 20 and full of attitude as well. It was a case study in how NOT to run a hotel!!!! We complained fruitlessly and then checked out to drive home fearing the alarm could go off again at any time. Here's the craziest part! The last TWO times I stayed there the power went off and we were trapped too! NEVER GOING BACK TO AMERISTAR AGAIN!!!! read more

By far one of the best quick -bite to eat buffets in Blackhawk. Took the boyfriend and made a quick stop during the week, not too bad for menu options . They didn't have much for seafood just the typical cold shrimp . They offer seafood on the weekend buffets. I like how they use yukon gold potatoes for their whipped potatoes. They have a pho station for something exotic, but you get your fair choice of meats, salad items, various vegetables and a huge amount of desserts. I will honestly say, I am impressed with their version of a creme brule. Not exactly what I am used to , but yet strangely different. I see the employees here frequently checking on the food and making sure things are appropriate. The service was great , never had to ask for napkins or refills. I say this is better then other places up the hill.. read more

Hey guys-- sup or should I say sip? Five words: unlimited free coffee and soda. I mean seriously, who cares if you lose all your money gambling-- soda ain't cheap these days and you can totes earn it back via drinking diet coke-- SCORE!!! Anyways, this casino is nice, but what's with the constant and incessant reorganizing? You find one machine and next thing you know it's gone.... Or upstairs... Or downstairs.... Or down a few machines.... Or near the back door... Whatever!!! Also, real talk: what's the deal with the reward cards? Yesterday I got a $5 bonus via this super rad umbrella game and then it suddenly said "malfunction go see an employee." UM WHAT?!? Hello!!!! Also seems like everyone around me is winning money and following me because I am not winning any money. Good food ok prices. Service was a little slow. Would go back! Hostesses were awful to busy talking to one another to worry about customers!

I've received better customer service at motels. Do not go to this resort. You will waste your time and money. I had never been to a casino and was celebrating my birthday. We had the worst experience dining at the fireside restaurant and related that information to the front desk who was receptive and offered two free buffets for myself and boyfriend. We were excited about that. When we went to get some breakfast after our stay in the morning, the buffet was closed. We had to check out by 11am and were starving so we asked the front desk if they could do anything for us. They took back the free buffet tickets and took off $40 on our already overpriced room stay. They suggested room service. You had to call and leave a message and wait for them to call your room back to take your order and then we waited 40 minutes for our food. It arrived close to 10:30am and checkout was at 11am. We literally spent $70 on breakfast that was mediocre and from the same fireside restaurant we previously had a bad experience at. When you try to get ahold of staff you have to leave messages and wait long periods of time for a response. I had to call and speak with several different people to get my voice heard. My stay ended up being taken care of which is why I changed my rating to two stars, but I will never go back again! I'm glad management finally acknowledged and took care of my concerns, that's the only positive I have about this place. read more

This is for their hotel mainly. We got complimentary valet which is awesome. And the fact that when it's cold out, you don't have to be outside. Pros: We got upgraded since our room, the Luxury King wasn't available to the Spa Suite. Front desk was helpful and friendly. The room was spacious, I can see how you can easily hold a party. A double sided fireplace and a deep spa tub with jets overlooking Blackhawk and parts of Central City. Very comfortable room and three TV's. Cons: Unfortunately our expectations also fell way short. There was only one light over the bath tub, as the other light wasn't present. Which it didn't bother me as much. The bed blanket had a hole in it while the foot board looked chewed up. A couple of the jets in the shower didn't spray correctly. There were a few things that irked us. For a 4 star upgrade suite, this was not it. One thing that did irk us big time was their "fire alarm. So when we arrived, we saw a paper printed sign at the front desk saying there will be a fire alarm test on all resident corridors. But that we don't have to leave our rooms and the elevators will be working because it's only a test. Well the test started at 10:30 instead of 10:00 am. It was an alarm that anyone can sleep through. There was more talking of the announcement to leave our rooms than the actual alarm, which was a complete joke. There are no strobe lights in our room, so anyone who is completely deaf would have no clue that the hotel or casino is on fire. Heck, my husband and I could have easily slept through it, and me being a light sleeper, it was more annoying than anything else. They need strobes in every room along with a louder siren. Not an alarm clock siren. Recommended? Yes if they upgrade their spa suite. I would go back though and get another spa suite though, these small irks won't scare me off. read more

Very rude staff at the casino. We mentioned we were first timers and they treated us like idiots for asking questions. We were playing games for a while and never were offered drinks. Had to pay for our only beverages when we were there. Extremely expensive buffet with bad, dry food. We stayed at the hotel but actually left for a different casino for games. If you're a new player, stay and play somewhere else. read more
