We looked at hotels first, but then this little B&B popped up. We'd never stayed at one before, so we thought why not give it a try and I'm so glad that we did! The place is adorable and very, very charming! Not only is it adorable, it's very well kept and very clean! The staff was so friendly and professional. Our room was amazing and the bed was super comfy! It felt like we were staying at a friend's house rather than a hotel - but I suppose that's one of the charms about staying at a B&B! In the middle of the night, the hot water heater went out and the staff was quick to get it fixed and they discounted people's stays, which I thought was super rad of them. The breakfast was so good! It was definitely one of the healthiest breakfasts I've ever had, and not only was it healthy, it was tasty! We had veggies, eggs, fresh baked cranberry bread, fruit, and yogurt! They also had all kinds of teas to choose from. If I end up in Boulder again, I'm definitely going to book another stay! It was seriously lovely.

It feels like you're eating at a friend's house. We had some delicious fresh gluten-free muffins. Pancakes looked fluffy and delicious, too bad I couldn't have them because they weren't gluten-free. Instead, they made me some scrambled eggs with veggies and GF toast. It felt very special and made with love. Free parking on property, and you're about a 20 minute walk from Pearl Street shopping. This $300 stay was in a room that can be seen at a $120 La Quinta Inn. I travel for a living and am in roughly 30+ hotels a year. I was thankful though that the bed and pillows were comfortable enough to sleep well in. The towels are rough and cheap or old maybe? The bathroom counter needed repair. Just overall not good. Upon first arrival to the inn we walked in to be greeted by one in tact and one half eaten small muffin on the food bar which I guess was the snack offering as it was on a little service dish not an individuals plate. Super uninviting. The parking was great though and appreciated. We did enjoy the Great Room a little while during our stay which was cozy. When we got back from our dinner on Friday evening just before 9pm we wanted a cup of hot tea for bed and there was no longer any hot water on the beverage bar. What a disappointment. I will also say the tea choices were worse than that at a Hampton Inn. Very basic and not even close to even what a mid level hotel offers. The breakfast was nice. Quiche looked amazing but by the time we came down to eat at 9:45 which I understand is 15 minutes before it ended - the warmer was off and the quiche was cold. We did grab a muffin which tasted like it was from Safeway or Costco but it helped as we were hungry. Instead we had to eat a light bite across the street at the cafe. Another disappointment. Overall what could and should have been a really special experience felt like a run down room with a mediocre breakfast experience. I came with my adult daughter to celebrate her 26th birthday and I have to be honest and say that I felt terrible that I chose this inn. He told me we had to pay and could not get $1469.72 refunded for the 3 nights. Talk about price gouging! We spent a sleepless night and left early the next morning. I have no intention of paying what they charged and they should be ashamed of an old youth hostel being passed off as a boutique inn. The only reason I booked this dump was it was graduation weekend in Boulder and impossible to find a hotel in town or nearby a couple of months prior.(We ended up staying at an Omni hotel further away from Boulder. It cost under 300. per night and our room was huge, very clean, had a closet and luggage racks etc.) The young man at the desk when we checked in was very pleasant and understood my frustration with the quality of the room. He contacted the owner right away when i told him we could not stay . Owner finally responded the next day saying we had to pay. I called Expedia and they tried to get refund...owner refused. Thank heaven for American Express. We have no intention of paying the amount billed especially when rooms are listed for 99.00 per night.

The hotel employees were very nice and the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. This place isn't fancy but everything was perfect for what we needed during this busy weekend with our college kid. Upon my arrival he greeted me as I pulled up and quickly checked me in. The Columbine is Charming. The room reminds me of going to my grandmother's home. It smelled fantastic when I walked in the door. The bedding isn't the standard white. It's full of color, as are the towels. There is a kitchenette, small table, two burner stove, fridge, microwave, and a coffee pot. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The only thing that could possibly be improved was the paint that was peeling in the restroom probably from the steam and years. Nothing a new coat of paint couldn't fix. I would definitely stay here again. It was adorable, comfortable, and most importantly affordable. I appreciate the kindness of Sam, and hope to see him again when I visit the area.

The xc skiing at Devil's Thumb has always been a favorite for us, as far back as the 70's when it was just a rustic ski trail system with a small nordic supply shop. In recent years it became a full fledged resort with lodging where we have often stayed. We have also stayed in Winter Park, about 15 minutes away and driven over to ski. But we have now found our new favorite option. This is such a lovely place, both the facility and the charming staff. It is a better price value for us than some of the other options in the area, yet more than a simple motel in town. You know, like Goldilocks, "just right." I especially want to note that the (included) breakfast that host John cooks for the guests was wonderful, some sweet, some savory, warm, homemade, natural and ample for the start of even an hearty ski day. They take note in advance of special food needs and serve with a choice of time options. The log style of the building is rustic but nicely furnished. The rooms are well designed and furnished with high quality linens and have lots of storage as some guests stay for weeks. The views from each room are very pretty, some to the Continental Divide, some to the woodland. Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. The central lounge area was large, comfortable, attractive and clean and with a central fireplace. There are also some other smaller gathering areas to sit and talk or read if you wish to be outside your room. And there are also some family and dog friendly cabins on site if you want more than a bedroom. Personally, the rooms in the main inn are just right for my needs. We will absolutely be back. It is convenient to local xc skiing and also just a 15 minute drive past the Winter Park Resort and not far at all from several quality dinner options. We met other guests using the lodging for all of these reasons.

Our visit had some hiccups--and the only reason this review went from 2 stars to 3 is that they returned 1/5 of the amount we spent on the reservation as a concession. When we walked in initially, the wow factor was high. The place was so cute and had high quality features like granite countertops, gas stove, fun wavy laminate floors, and big french doors out to the porch. We enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking cocktails and chatting for hours. We noticed a couple cleanliness issues when we first arrived, like a dirty floor and some leftover relics from the folks before us--a single wilted flower on a bedside table and dusty toys and a children's book under the bed. Our enthusiasm truly diminished around bed time when I pulled out the couch to find excessive mouse droppings all over the sheets, blankets, and pillows. Since it was pretty late when we discovered this, two of us elected to share a bed in the loft, hopefully away from any further rodent discoveries. The next morning we were told by the front desk that the mouse issue has never happened before, which I believe, but regardless it was clear to us that our unit had not been thoroughly inspected prior to our arrival. For the price, I would expect a more thorough cleaning of the entire space. We are pretty confident we won't return to Wee Casa.
