My friends and I were so excited for our stay at Wee Casa. We reserved the Sequoia house, unit #2, which was a 4 bed accommodation so each of us would have our own space to sleep. Our visit had some hiccups--and the only reason this review went from 2 stars to 3 is that they returned 1/5 of the amount we spent on the reservation as a concession. When we walked in initially, the wow factor was high. The place was so cute and had high quality features like granite countertops, gas stove, fun wavy laminate floors, and big french doors out to the porch. We enjoyed sitting on the porch drinking cocktails and chatting for hours. We noticed a couple cleanliness issues when we first arrived, like a dirty floor and some leftover relics from the folks before us--a single wilted flower on a bedside table and dusty toys and a children's book under the bed. Our enthusiasm truly diminished around bed time when I pulled out the couch to find excessive mouse droppings all over the sheets, blankets, and pillows. Since it was pretty late when we discovered this, two of us elected to share a bed in the loft, hopefully away from any further rodent discoveries. The next morning we were told by the front desk that the mouse issue has never happened before, which I believe, but regardless it was clear to us that our unit had not been thoroughly inspected prior to our arrival. For the price, I would expect a more thorough cleaning of the entire space. We are pretty confident we won't return to Wee Casa. read more

I finally managed to visit this site. It was advertised in the AAA magazine about seven years ago. I am very much interested in the "tiny house" movement. Keep your eyes peeled for the "left" turn off the highway. The sign needs to be closer to the highway; missed it the first time. Stayed in the Gnome House. Very cute! The round doors and windows make it very unique. Nice big bathroom. The sleeping loft had a queen mattress. To my surprise, quite comfortable. Full set of stairs made getting up and down very easy. Plenty of hot water for shower and dish washing. The only complaint I had was the "mini-split". I couldn't tell if it was actually working so I used the little fireplace heater to warm the house up. Quite cold upon arrival. Without that little heater, I can't say how long it would have taken to heat up! Would definitely return, probably in warmer weather. read more

Lyons, Co. Great place to stay on the river. A pretty cool way to experience the tiny home scene. Not overly spacious, of course, but there is a small kitchen with cooktop and refrigeration. The bathroom is large with a hot shower.The people running this place are unbelievably helpful and friendly. Easy walk to town for restaurants or walk the other way to the festival grounds. My boyfriend and I spent two night in the Hobbit House (140 sq ft!) while on a hiking trip in Colorado and I absolutely adored the experience. We checked in late and that was a little weird because the main office (also a tiny little building) was closed so we were given directions on how to check in by ourselves. The house itself was darling and super cozy! He and I are both shorter than average so the tiny spaces didn't bother us at all, but I imagine it would be a bit of a struggle for anyone who is on the larger side because the shower is itsy-bitsy and the stairs up to the sleeping loft are very narrow with a low ceiling. The house was equipped with a small fridge, stove and sink in the kitchen area, a full bathroom with hot water, a couch and electric fireplace in the "living room" and a mattress up stairs for sleeping. The only downside was there isn't much storage for luggage or clothing. read more

WeeCasa was the most amazing mid-week getaway. We live about 45 minutes away, so traveling there was super easy. My group rented 5 unique tiny houses. We were a group of 15, 5 moms and 10 kids. My daughter and I had the Ski Haus and absolutely loved it. Our house was spacious, functional and very clean. My very favorite part of renting the tiny house was having our own shower and toilet! The amenities in the house were great. There was a mini fridge with a mini freezer. We also had a small cook top as well as cooking pots/pans, utensils, etc. There were three main places to have a fire. These are communal, so good for smores, but not much more. We were lucky to have the fire pit to ourselves. One of the firepits has a nice amenity house next to it. This place has a Keurig, a table, a tv, water, games, and s'more sticks. Beyond the houses was the amazing scenery. This place has the best views of red rock cliffs. The St. Vrain creek runs right through the area, and we had private access to swim and tube the river. The best thing was that our kids could get into their tubes and ride the river all the way around to the other side, get out walk through the park and come straight back to our area. There was no need for transporting them to and from the put in/take out. Wee casa sells tubes for $20 or you can rent across the way for $20/day. The kids also enjoyed jumping off the rocks into the water. Honestly, we just had the best time! One last thing, Lyons main street is less than an 8 minute walk. There you will find pizza, coffee shops, a market, and fine dining. If you are looking for a getaway, this place is well worth the price! read more

What a joy to stay in this beautiful tiny house resort tucked into the stone of the foothills ! We had the Judy Blue Eyes and it was exquisite the light, use of space and comfort! I so appreciate: the full bath, the clean fluffy sheets, the feeling of plenty of space and I'm a tall big woman but I never felt cramped or closed in. It was lovely to meet the owners and creators, such lovely hosts. The location is superb at the base of the mountains. Walking distance to the river path, the stone cup coffee shop and all the sweet family owned businesses of Lyons. I will return and now a goal has become to try each different themed tiny house through the years! I was so charmed, several days later I'm still smiling! read more

Thank you Tiny House #21 for giving myself and my three close girlfriends one of the best weekends of our lives! A good friend of mine attempted to gather our wolf pack together for a fun weekend getaway and in the process of deciding where to stay she mentioned the WeeCasa Tiny Home Hotel in Lyons, Colorado. I had heard of these little homes over the years from one of my many binge "watch-a-thons" on HGTV and have always been intrigued by the idea of such a peculiar thing. So we hopped in a car and began our little adventure. Upon arriving, we checked in at the "front desk," which is also a tiny home. We were greeted by a silver fox with a man bun (aka the property manager who was very informative and kind.) He gave us a break down and handed us the keys to our place for the weekend. Driving into the property, we were greeted by an array of different little homes which were situated in a somewhat "Kumbaya" fashion. In the center of the lot, there were chairs and picnic tables. A perfect place to roast up some s'mores while trading stories about men with hooks for hands... We finally arrived at our home away from home and were excited to see what awaited us inside! The tiny house we stayed in was roughly 186 square feet. Now, that might sound a bit intimidating, but it fit four girls perfectly! Upon entering, we were greeted with an adorable little kitchen with a beautiful aqua tiled backsplash. We hung our coats on the coat hooks next to the front door and began to explore our space for the weekend... What we discovered was the amazing attention to detail. It's obvious that the owners put a lot of TLC into the place as the art work and the little personal touches really shine through and give the house character. Per the property manager, this particular hotel, 21, is one of only two properties on the premises that offer a full working kitchen! The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, a full refrigerator/freezer, deep porcelain sink, oodles of counter space and even a dishwasher (for those who were never a fan of chores as a child). I honestly couldn't believe the amount of space 186 sq. ft. provides. It's amazing to see how much a small space can accommodate. That alone was worth the experience. The house also sleeps four comfortably, but it could sleep 4 adults and 2 children as the house offers a queen sized loft bed as well as a queen sized Murphy bed on the main level that can convert into a sofa during the day. In the corner you will also find a table that seats two people which folds back into the wall when not in use. There is also so much cabinet space we weren't able to use even 1/3 of what it provides. The bathroom is fully functional with a toilet, sink and a shower (and don't forget about the hot water! Woohoo! Can't live without that!) During the more extreme weather months, this tiny home also offers an air conditioner and a heater. My favorite part of this little house is the art work. The little pictures on the walls are apparently drawn by local artists. They are a perfect addition to an already lovely little home and really brought the whole place together. Check out the sly fox picture by the Murphy bed, he was my favorite. The WeeCasa property sits on a large beautiful park that would be perfect for a special event or wedding. There is a stream that runs along the edge of the park that guests can tube in during the spring and summer months. It seems that guests have been tubing in autumn as well, as Colorado has been averaging 75 degrees the last few months! It's been a beautiful year. The property manager mentioned that the entire hotel can be rented out for a wedding or special event to accommodate you and your guests. There is also a building on the property that is perfect for a catering station! Walking along the WeeCasa property, we noticed that some of the individual hotels do not offer as much privacy as the one we were in. I assume if you are an exhibitionist that would work well for you, but we appreciate some curtains to hide our pillow fights and the braiding of each other's hair at night. ;) WeeCasa is located literally right around the corner from downtown Lyons. We walked to Oskar Blues (the local pub) for some dinner and drinks and in the morning we dined at Lyons Fork where I devoured their delicious shrimp and grits. Rocky Mountain National Park and Estes Park are a short 40 minute drive from downtown Lyons! I can not say enough great things about my experience this past weekend. I can't wait to return and I highly recommend 21 as it truly made our experience a great one. read more

How do you do half stars? I cant figure it out. I would have given 5 full stars but I had to remove half because my spot was close to the front and the sound of the traffic coming from the highway was intrusive and really jacked with the peace vibe I was getting when I was hanging out closer to the back of the property. The staff was GREAT. There is a notice on the bathroom wall that the water may not get hot due to hot water sharing, but I was there on a not-so-busy time and had no problems. It's super clean and well maintained. Didnt use the venue so cant remark there, but I'd definitely consider it after my visit! read more

+This is a super cute set up and great location. We loved the town of Lyons, and WeeCasa is easily walkable to the town. It's also super close to drive to Boulder or Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. The only down side was some of the design aspects of the specific tiny house we were in (#9 The Boulder). I've stayed in tiny houses before and really enjoy them, so I was used to the small space, but part of the deal with a tiny house is being really well designed to maximize the small space. While this house was very cute, it wasn't fully functional. -Number 9 doesn't have AC (though I saw most of the others did) and that made sleeping in a loft space particularly uncomfortable. -Several of the windows had either no or ill fitting window coverings. With all the houses being very close together, and no internal rooms, it made it very difficult to feel like you could undress with privacy. -The bathroom was overall not well designed. There needs to be hooks or bars for towels. The sink and mirror were far too small to the point of not functioning. And the bathroom sink drains through an open pipe into the shower, about 2 feet from the ground. This results in anything from the bathroom sink (like toothpaste spit) pooling in the shower floor. (We ended up using the kitchen sink for everything but hand washing). *I would certainly stay at WeeCasa again, but I would be very particular about which house to stay in and wouldn't recommend #9. read more

We were passing through Lyons and needed a place to stay for the night. Stumbled across this little gem right on the water. Check in was a breeze and the place was adorable. Literally just a bed, a bathroom with a shower and a kitchen sink/stovetop. Coffee was provided which was great! The bed was extremely comfortable (memory foam?) and the A/C was heavenly. The only poor thing about the experience was the shower. The water heater was so small that it didn't regulate the water temp very well. It was either scalding hot or freezing cold. No happy medium. My partner and I recently purchased a tiny house on wheels from the owners of the unit that was parked in spot 13 at WeeCasa. Since the first day we made it to WeeCasa we were treated with such kindness and respect. The WeeCasa grounds are beautiful. Not only is every house well kept, there are little touches like hanging string lights and a fire pit that made it look magical. Our unit was over two years old when we bought it and it looked brand new. You could tell they have a quality cleaning crew that prolonged the life of the home. While getting our tiny house ready to take with us, Sam Deuel was a HUGE help. He gave us tips about the unit. He even helped us with some physical labor. Sam went above and beyond the role of his job to make sure we were safe, happy, and comfortable while we worked on our home. We are very thankful for Sam and all of his help. Could this village of tiny houses be any cuter?? We stayed in #12, the American Aspen, for two nights and loved every second. Check in/out was a breeze, the grounds were beautiful and our tiny house was immaculate. Everything feels very modern and clean, there's even wifi and a TV with Netflix access! Maneuvering from the top floor to the ladder wasn't the easiest but it was sort of hot up there, so we didn't spend much time "upstairs" anyway and our fridge/freezer had some issues, namely the freezer had built up so much ice that it wouldn't actually shut and the fridge was turned so high that all our food froze. The location of the WeeCasa Resort is really ideal and we were able to walk into town in a matter of minutes. This place is such an experience and we had a lot of fun staying in it! read more

We stayed in unit 12 for 2 nights over thanksgiving, when Lyons had just had 25" of snow fall and the temps dropped into the teens overnight. The heater in the unit was a huge disappointment as it is set to return to 62 degrees after a few hours so we were up all night turning it back up. Fortunately (lol), the thing rattled and made so much noise when it was on that as soon as it got quiet we knew it had shut off again. We didn't use the shower because it never got warm enough in the room and the sign in the bathroom, saying that the water wouldn't get as hot as you are used to at home scared me too much to attempt. Getting out of a cold shower into a freezing cold room, no thanks. I saw on another review of this unit that previous guests enjoyed a TV that streamed Netflix but during our stay the tv was mounted 12 feet from the outlet and there was no was to plug it in. Otherwise, the place is cute and I thought the beds were comfortable and clean. The location is great and I would stay here again if I come back in the summer. read more

When three girlfriends and I found ourselves with a free weekend, we decided to delve into the world of tiny homes. What greeted us was a village of tiny homes, on a beautiful meadow, alongside a peaceful river. Lights were strung up in trees, and the colorful wooden chairs bespoke of a joyful communal experience. Tiny home 21 was our own little hideaway - complete with a full kiitchen, two full sized bed, including one loft bed, high spacious ceilings, and sky lighted roof to let all of the natural light in. With a full functioning stove and sink and dishwasher, we were able to prepare full meals. The space was more than enough for four women to move around and share in the surroundings comfortably. Local art hung on the wall, and tiny home 21 was fully furnished and even featured local art from artisans from around Colorado. The airy modern feel, and the colorful decor gave tiny home 21 a burst of character and originality. Wee Casa tiny homes community is nestled in the picturesque mountain town of Lyons, Colorado, where diners and local bands and breakfast feasts, under the alias 'The Morning After' awaits you on the menu. It is also just down the road from the cinematic vistas of Rocky Mountain national park. I will absolutely be returning, for what was an unforgettable experience. Pros: super friendly service, walkable distance to Lyons, great way to check out living in a tiny house (before you buy or because you've seen HGTV way too much lol), super unique experience, & the property is beautifully maintained/quiet. Free wi-fi, basic toiletries, & coffee are included in the unit! Cons: since the units double as model homes -- unfortunately, it showed through in small ways. For instance, there weren't any curtains in the window in the bathroom/shower. Speaking of showers -- they do warn you with signs in the restroom, but the warm water in our unit lasted approximately 10 seconds (fortunately it's summer & it stayed lukewarm-- & we take quick showers!). Our shower also leaked onto the floorboards despite trying to stop any leaks with towels (management couldn't do much as they didn't build the unit). Important to note: since not all of the units were made by the same company -- your experience could vary from house to house! Note to the builder of our unit (Cabin 15): the loft bedroom is much too tight to fit a bed -- it's more suitable for storage, etc. I'm a petite 5'0" woman, and I couldn't sit-up in the bed without hitting my head and constantly hitting my knee on the ceiling (while laying down mind you). The skylight is nice, but it's hard to sleep past 6am without any curtains (think of a giant sky window about 12 inches from your face). This unit definitely has a great kitchen though & they were very thoughtful in the amount of electrical outlets they included-- but the 2nd loft that is supposed to double as a comfy seated area -- left a lot to desire. I am choosing 4 stars -- despite the quirks of the cabin -- as it was a unique experience to stay in a 'tiny home' and the property was well kept and the management was so helpful/cheerful. Keep an open mind -- and if you treat it as more of a 'glamping' experience, it'll make for a memorable stay. read more

WeeCasa, great location in Lyons, close to Estes and everything. I stayed in #14. The house was 18', 1 Qn Loft, which was incredibly roomy. The park itself is small but everyone who stayed there was nice. It was warm this week and the fans my unit kept the cabin cool. My only complaint, I wish the builder had put a fold down table for eating. The beds were super comfortable and the amenities were great. The staff was accommodating and made you feel welcomed. I highly recommend this for a quick get away, trying out the tiny house before you build or just because. It would make a great family reunion place with 14 families! They did a great job and I look forward to my next visit and hopefully, more will spring up throughout the states! read more

We stayed in tiny house #5 for two nights this past weekend. It was far roomier than I was expecting and nicely finished out. Our heater was easy to use and worked great. The hot water was HOT (almost too hot at times, really) and lasted no problem for a 10 minutes shower. The unit we were in has a lofted queen bed, which was plenty comfortable. It was a foam bed of some sort, so it was also nice and warm. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We already want to go back! The only thing I'll do differently is check out a unit with a murphy bed instead of a loft. After hiking all day, getting a sore body up and down out of a loft was a little challenging! Ha! But it really was perfect overall. I felt like we were in an adorable little gypsy wagon. We also woke up to a great view through the trees of a beautiful mountain ridge that lit up like gold at sunrise. At night, you can see hundreds of stars right from the grounds. Perfect location, super fun and comfortable lodging. read more

The reason being that though, we did get stuck inside because our door was enormous and wouldn't budge, and we did have to go a night without a lock, everything concerning our stay was beyond excellent. They even comped us that night without us having to make any kind of deal of it. The hobbit house we stayed in was beyond what we expected. It was so cool to stay in such a unique and beautiful place. The Main Street of Lyons is literally across the street with access to some lovely restaurants. The employees were super friendly and helpful. We stayed there because we it was close to Estes Park without the expensive prices. We were not let down, even with broken door and all. read more

Went to the Wee Winter Fest and it was great. My truck ended up getting keyed by one of the other patrons at the event and the property manager handled it very well! Great guy to work with and went out of his way to make something he had no control over right for me. I will definitely be returning to stay a weekend! ***Update- Called back to redeem the weekend stay they offered, called 4 times and have been trying to make contact for a month to be met with no return calls. We were hoping for a great tiny house experience. It was lacking in many ways. Let me clarify right up front - the size was not at all part of the issue! We stayed in WeeCasa 22 which was supposed to sleep 6. The fold out futon that was supposed to sleep 2 wasn't even the size of a twin bed and it was (to quote the man who checked us in) "crap". He was going to leave me a camping mat to sleep on since it was so bad and I was on crutches and unable to sleep in a loft - the reason I reserved #22. There was no camping mat left. There was zero furniture besides the small futon. In a cabin meant to sleep 6 there was no way even 4 people could sit down inside the house except with some of us on the floor. It had full sized refrigerator and a 5 burner full sized oven. I could have baked a turkey but we'd have had no place to sit down to eat it - nor were there 6 place settings. At one point we were out enjoying the lawn in the common area and it began to rain. The 4 of us went inside and stood there with really no place to sit except the tiny 3 spot futon or leaning into one of the loft ladders. We just left to go find dinner in town because our tiny house was not much more than a very large umbrella at that point. In the description of #22 it says "Sleeps up to 6 Adults (One queen-size bed and one full-size bed in two sleeping lofts, plus a futon couch on the main level)." Who would have guessed that the ONLY furniture in the entire house would be those three things. ON top of the inability to use the house the atmosphere was loud and without regard for their own imposed quiet hours of 10pm-8am! Remodeling/construction noise all afternoon was also annoying. But the dumpster noise at 7am on Friday was ridiculous. The water delivery right next to our cabin was loud and ridiculously timed at 7:45am. And the Gators zooming through the facility after 10pm and before 8am by the facility managers was just showing the lack of "Inn Keeper" skills they have. I think the concept is great and has potential. I truly felt I didn't get my money's worth at this time. read more

Let me start by saying the cute factor is HIGH!! This place is adorable and the River Bend venue is AMAZING! We stayed in unit 20 and as cute as the place was it was the worst night of sleep I've had in a long time and we paid $300 for the privilege. There are not enough window coverings. We had to hang clothes in 3 windows to even feel comfortable sleeping. There are 6 super high windows that make sense to leave uncovered but the 3 up front need to be covered. You can see people walking by which means they can see you too. Awkward. You have to choose between privacy and air conditioning because the curtain on that window doesn't fit. There is also some kind of light on the neighboring building that shines straight into the unit all night leaving the rest of the curtains pretty much useless. I personally also didn't care for the bed situation, there is no headboard which makes sense with the unit size but the lack of headboard made it impossible for me to sleep. There is a lot of damage throughout the unit. Cabinet doors don't close and the bathroom door isn't level. I barely fit in the bathroom but it is a tiny home so that was to be expected. Surprising though because RV bathrooms tend to be more ergonomically correct. Sorry to say, the cute factor doesn't make up for the sleeping conditions and price. read more

WeeCasa is a novel experience in low-impact lodging. A fine establishment. Two couples booked two units to try out the novelty factor. The relatively high cost became a sticking point, especially with our friends, one of whom could not access the upstairs bed in #5 due to a broken toe. We gave them our #7, which is 25% larger and a gem. Our mattress was surprisingly comfortable and we slept well, but know that the units are not inexpensive. I'd return to #7 with the addition of some missing amenities and additional housekeeping - decaf coffee, a full bottle of filtered water in a maintained community area, instructions on how to turn on the heater in the room (it was October 12th). My husband and I had the most exciting opportunity to stay in the WeeCasa tiny home village last weekend (we stayed in tiny home #21 "Pa Dutch") in Colorado's first tiny home village! Pa Dutch had all the amenities of home...just smaller! This home had beautiful decor with clean lines and inviting furnishings! The whole village is steps away from Lyon, CO's magical little downtown. If you're looking for a way to 'get away from it all', Pa Dutch and the WeeCasa village is the place. Stayed in number 13 and it sucked. This was my 35th wedding anniversary and when we got inside it was great at first then we tried to start the stove and it would not start. Called the office and the office sent us a lighter. The next morning it was snowing again about 1.5 inches February 23 and cold but no gas for the stove so no coffee for the two of us. Tried to take a shower and no hot water. Now I feel they should give us a weekend to make up for what happened or give us our money back. read more

We just stayed in #7 the "Nuns Cottage". Beautiful craftsmanship and great pick if you prefer a ground level bed. The property manager Sam was very welcoming and got us settled in. Great customer service! Looking forward to booking again to try another tiny house model! read more

I stayed here in the rocky or raging waters? Tiny house. It was a cool experience but for close to $200 per night on a weeknight in the dead of winter I would have expected more for the money. This was one of the larger and newer units so I would not have expected issues but there were several. The sheets in the loft bed had hair and fuzz on them. The space heater in the unit did not work and the wood stove had no wood so our only option was the propane unit with thermostat on the wall. It worked well almost too well. I had it set for about 60 but it never went off. So in the middle of the night when I was sweating I had to shut it off and then of course it got cold. Another issue the dead bolt did not work only the handle lock and that was sticky. I didn't get much info about my tiny house only generic info from the site. They should tell u about the house you have specifically rented because they are all different. We were excited to see there was a tv but we couldn't use it because it wanted the IP address to set it up. We could have used the DVD player if we knew there was one and brought any discs. Then the next day we couldn't cook or make coffee because the pilot lights were out. They came and lit them and gave us extra time to check out but why so many issues? I know they are tiny houses but then don't charge the price of a nice hotel especially on a weeknight in the off-season. read more
