Juniper Mountain House may be my favorite place in Colorado, if not on planet earth period. If you are looking for a curated, peaceful, luxurious escape into nature, this is definitely the spot. Their guest rooms are all unique and impeccably decorated, we've stayed in almost all of them at this point, playing our own game of Juniper Bingo, and each is delightful in it's own way. Consistent among them all though are the softest sheets you've ever felt (so much so that I just bought a set for home using the very cool Shop Our Space website they provide with links to some of their most beautiful items), plush bathrobes that are intended to keep you cozy on the way to the outdoor hot tub, a swanky coffee and tea set up, and perfect mountain views. Not only are the rooms sublime, but the common spaces are perfection. From the epic outdoor deck with heaters to keep snug in the winter, to the elevated fire pit deck where you can enjoy a S'Mores Kit they have available for purchase, to the beautiful bar/dining area with just enough self serve options, back to the hot tub nestled in the trees just on the edge of the property, we always have a hard time leaving the grounds of Juniper Mountain House. But if you want to venture out, the lovely town of Evergreen and the splendor of the Rocky Mountains is all right there. Definitely the crown jewels of Juniper Mountain House are it's owners - Alea & Ashley LaRocque - who put so much care into the space and their guests. They are always working on something, and it's fun to see the slight changes and improvements every time we visit. But more importantly, they make all of their guests feel special, taken care of, and totally pampered in their spectacular oasis in the mountains they've created. And as a dog friendly property, be sure to say hi to the queen of JMH, their sweet pup Denali!

We came into town for the Triple Bypass and the Juniper Mountain House was 10 minutes from the start line. The house is near the freeway but feels secluded - absolutely surrounded by Pines. Ashley greeted us and was so welcoming and lovely. The house is decorated in this super cool modern/lodge vibe. Not too much, not too little. They thought of every detail. They pipe this incredible music throughout the hallways and patio of the home, but you can't hear it from your room so no concerns over it being disruptive. I had never thought about doing that but it gives life to the house and creates this super chill relaxing atmosphere. The patio is where we spent the majority of our time. Playing cards, having a drink, enjoying the hot tub, drinking coffee by the fire, watching the hummingbirds at the various feeders. The rooms were comfortable and clean - and COOL in the summer. They each have individual AC units that worked perfectly. We can't wait to come back!!

Dreamy Mountain Wedding

Perfect intimate wedding location From start to finish the owners A&A made sure everything went smoothly even on the day of our wedding. I had forgotten my flower bouquet and Ashley went quickly to the store and grabbed fresh flowers that matched the decor! Total life saver

Wow. Cannot say enough about how cute this place is!! We stayed here a few nights after our destination wedding in Colorado and our only regret is that we were only there for the night and not longer. Not only was the communication with the property owners seamless which made for easy self check-in, but they were so friendly. We felt at home from the moment we arrived on the property. The inside is perfectly decorated. The rooms were cute and clean and the beds were comfortable. The deck/hot tub area is the real selling point. My husband and I poured ourselves a drink and spent the evening in the hot tub which was nestled in between trees. JMH provided the ultimate relaxation that we needed after a hectic (but amazing ) week. We both left saying we can't wait to come back here one day soon! Ps. They also have a self serve honor bar and s'mores kits for roasting by the fire for $5. Such a cute touch and we will definitely be taking advantage of that when we come back. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Juniper Mountain House is amazing! The owners Ashley and Alea are super welcoming and accommodating. Originally we were going to stay at their place as a hotel, when COVID hit, our wedding plans -- like many others -- had to pivot. They helped us plan a small-scale outdoor event for 29 guests. The spot was beautiful, quaint but also a comfortable place for our wedding party to stay, get ready and host our guests. Now, I couldn't imagine our wedding weekend any where else. JMH will always hold a special place in our heart! The fire pit and hot tub are a bonus! Photos: Nolan Campbell Photography

We had the honor of having our wedding at Juniper Mtn House this past weekend and I will never forget the level of hospitality Ashley, Alea and the whole team provided. It was not only absolutely gorgeous but the whole place is magical. I highly recommend staying here for a weekend or hosting your wedding here.

A good beer and view.

We could not have enjoyed our stay more! The location was perfect and the rooms are so well done. Very hip but mountain feel. They are perfect hosts. No detail over looked. From comfy beds and pillows and the softest sheets to having nice wine available to purchase. They even offer cute S'mores packs. We enjoyed the fire pit on the deck and the view is perfect. We will be back. Wish our stay was longer.

We were looking for a "staycation" from Denver where we could bring our dogs somewhere quiet and peaceful for the 4th of July, and I'm so glad we found this gem! Ashley and Alea were so kind and responsive. It's clear they've put a lot of love into this place and they've very much made it feel like a home away from home. They were also super welcoming to our fur babies who also made it clear they felt at home too ;) While only 25 min outside of Denver, you feel like you're much farther. We look forward to returning!

Each of their floor plans are just a little bit different depending upon what you're looking for. I'm staying in Blue Spruce 1 and it's a lovely and spacious retreat for a honeymoon or getaway from the city. Very cozy and beautiful. Look at my photos and you'll understand why. I will note that almost every surface above 6' high is thickly coated with dust and cobwebs. Loss of a star.

The other problem is that we failed to bring snacks and then realized we were hungry at 11 pm. They didn't even have an olive bar, I could not believe it. Ridiculous. You see that mini fridge? If I were smarter, I could have had so many snacks in there. Instead, I insisted we try to walk and find something down the street, because this is Colorado and at the very least there is some bar food nearby within walking distance. Not at 11 pm. Nothing open, no one on the streets maybe some mountain lions, at least the bears were hibernating. We ate lunch at the restaurant down the street recommended by the front desk. Murphys closes at 9 pm. Delicious, I owe them a five star review. Ordered conservatively for some reason, but should have had leftovers on the mind. There is a happy hour at 530 pm with beer and maybe even some food, but we were enjoying the amenities of our room too much. So, this is a public service announcement, I suggest you bring food if your dietary needs involve late night snacking. Otherwise when you realize everything is closed, you'll wish you said you wanted breakfast at 8 am instead of 10 am and then your boyfriend will be unable to wait, has to go down the street and then you have four breakfasts by then. I'm not a high maintenance princess type so I do not expect a robe. I definitely don't expect it to be that soft. Since it had to be that soft, I got the idea there were supposed to be matching slippers hiding somewhere. I never found them. We plan to return in the near future, and bring some snacks and slippers. I'll tell you how that goes.

Lisa and Tommy, who manage things together, were gracious, thoughtful, and welcoming from check-in to check-out three days later. They'd spruced up the grounds quite a bit since taking over the property, and we thought everything looked beautiful. We loved the pergola out front, the rock and water landscaping, the decks, the mountain-y decor in the rooms, the hot tub, and of course the beautiful pines and rocks all around the property. Just the sort of casual-but-very nice atmosphere we were hoping for. Our wedding party took up the whole B&B for the weekend, and Lisa and Tommy helped us so much in setting up and making everyone feel comfortable, from thinking through the best way to set up chairs to showing everyone around the property to helping control the parking lot as guests arrived. We loved meeting their small flock of friendly, happy chickens. Lisa made everyone feel right at home, and Tommy was kind enough to share some spectacular pictures afterward. The cabins were plenty comfortable and private for a couple staying in Evergreen for a weekend, and at the same time we couldn't have picked a nicer place for our whole group. Next time my husband and I are in the front range of the Rockies, we'll be staying at the Chalet for sure.

If you're rude to people to everyone except guests, would they ever make the choice to spend money at your establishment? Maybe a sign would help avoid this seemingly common and offensive occurrence of people in your parking lot and using your trash can, if you're that sensitive about it? (Note: the respondent was not present during the interaction and thus the response inaccurately portrays their behavior as professional and reasonable, which as multiple passengers can attest it was not.) -- Yikes, don't make the mistake of getting lost and turning around in their parking lot, the owner will come charging out and demand to know what you're doing with her trash bin and throw a fit that you threw away a dog waste bag in the "Dog Waste Here" bin since she "pays for her trash to be picked up" (as everyone does) and then when you apologize and remove the bag from the bin, she tells you angrily that you're trespassing. I get that 2020 has been rough for small business owners, but the owner seems to have a weird attitude for someone who works in hospitality.

It's a little strange to get to the hotel, you have to drive through the parking lot of a restaurant. The hotel is up on a hill, built of logs, and looks like a lodge. One of the nice things about the room that I booked is that it had a small balcony that looked off into the woods. My room faced the back, so you might want to ask for a room that faces the back or you will sit on your patio and be visible to everyone as they enter the hotel. The room also had a little sitting area. The reason for the one star rating was that the bottom of the toilet bowl was filthy (I've never seen this in a hotel before). Since the hotel was sold out, I couldn't change rooms and once I was settled in, went out and bought a toilet bowl drop in cleaner. I didn't complain since the hotel overall was outdated and in need of repair and wasn't sure if I moved to another room it would be better or worse. The housekeeping manager should never have let a room like this be available, so I won't stay here again.

We spend a lot of time in Evergreen and have spent a lot of time in hotels around here. We feel like we were taken advantage of and will not be returning to this hotel. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast.
