5 Stars for a fabulous trend-inspired hotel attached to a food hall, in a super convenient location! If you're looking for a cool hotel a short walk from Union Station, The Maven is a great option. We were easily able to walk from the station with our luggage and our room was ready early! The vibe is very cool, eclectic, and modern. From the Airstream-style trailer by the front desk, where they give our churros at happy hour, to the great decor, to the adjoining food hall and cocktail bar- It was just what we were hoping for. A few notes: - If you want housekeeping, you have to ask for it. We didn't know this and were confused why the room wasn't getting refreshed. *Would love to see some small signage about this in the room or mention it at check-in. - Be ready to jot down all the perks when you arrive- from drink tickets for happy hour at the cocktail bar, to % off at the adjoining restaurant and bar, to a free drip coffee at Huck coffee (technically in the food hall? but literally just across the lobby), these are worth taking advantage of! I was in Denver for a work trip and stayed at the Maven for 3 nights. All in with taxes and fees it came out to about $300 per night which felt pretty expensive in my opinion, but still less than some of the other iconic boutique hotels nearby. The location really can't be beat. You're right in the heart of LoDo. Coors Field is a few blocks from the hotel and Union Station (which connects directly to Denver Airport) is only about a 5 minute walk away. Tons of restaurants, bars, and things to do are all within walking distance, which makes it extremely convenient. When booking, I asked for a high floor, quiet room so I could work. Upon check-in, they honored that request and also upgraded my room from a Journeyman to an Innovator Suite which I greatly appreciated. That upgrade definitely elevated the stay! The Innovator Suite was fantastic. It had two queen beds, two TVs, a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, flexible workspace, and city views overlooking Denver's LoDo District. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, which I had to take advantage off. There's no balcony and while the wet bar includes a small fridge, it's not really functional for anything beyond drinks as there's no space for leftovers or larger items. You also get a token per night to redeem for a free drink at the bar during happy hour, plus free drip coffee in the mornings. Other perks include free churros during social hour, a courtesy car service within a 2 mile radius, and discounts at various shops. There's also a fitness center, although I didn't use it. There were some things missing though: no pool, no spa, housekeeping is by request only, and no breakfast included. Service throughout was excellent. There's 24 hour front desk service and everyone I interacted with was cheerful, helpful, and kind. Overall, a strong stay with great service, a fantastic room upgrade, and an excellent location, even if a few expected amenities were missing for the price. If I had to come back to Denver and the company was covering the bill, I would stay again. The location really can't be beat. If I were coming for a leisure trip with a similar budget, I'd probably look for a hotel with a pool and spa instead. This hotel is best suited for people who want to experience LoDo nightlife, catch a game, or just be right in the middle of everything downtown. The room I was upgraded to was probably much more expensive than what I actually paid, which definitely improved the experience. We had a good experience here overall, but it's one of the places where there are extra untold costs. Full transparency, it costs to park. It costs $$$ for laundry (they'll dry clean, but your bill can easily be 3 to 4 digits). Staying here is already pricey, so the extra unexpected costs just caught us off guard. Aside from the costs, place is great. It's on top of some bars, restaurants and shops. Depending on how you signed up, there may be an opportunity to get a free drink each day you're there. There's a gym available in a neighboring building, but the staff is helpful in explaining the process. You have to tell the staff each time you want to hit the gym because you'll need a temporary access pass. The location is great. It's by the downtown area and close to the Coors Field if you're trying to catch a baseball game. You don't have to use transportation, but you may also choose not to if you don't want to pay an expensive fee moving your vehicle in and out of their garage. There's also a public parking garage that goes at a cheaper rate, but it still sucks that the costs are not encompassed with the stay. read more

The Maven is a modern, relaxing place to stay. There are so many pluses. It's centrally-located downtown. The staff is friendly. The beds are nice. The pillows are nice. The carpet is plush. The tv is large. The lighting is suitably adjustable. The water pressure and the rainfall showerhead are perfect. They also have good amenities. A gym, a hotel car (locations within 2 miles), two bars, free coffee, water stations, free happy hour cocktails, and free churros! There is a lot of interesting art. They are also dog friendly. I same many well-behaved four legged friends while there As part of the Dairy Block, there are lots of dining and retail options nearby. Some within the same building. I sort of wish they had concierge massage services, but that's just me. I would definitely stay there again. Recommend. read more

My wife and I had passed through the Milk Block (where The Maven is) while on a walking food tour. We thought it would be rad to stay there but the $$$ price tag kept us away until recently when we came across a deal. The Maven is artsy and modern. I loved looking at all the cool touches. It's truly a spot you could stay one night and never even have to leave the building. There are so many bars and dining options on site. At check in time you get a complementary happy hour drink. Walking distance to most anything notable downtown (Mile High or Ball Arena would be a stretch). Less than perfect things: - Our room did seem a little worn. The carpet was literally coming apart at the seam. - A "pour over" in the room is a nice hipster touch but was awful. My sister and I came to Denver to watch a concert at the ball arena and I've been wanting to stay here! Beautiful property Immaculate rooms Clean bathrooms with the best shower and soft robes ever great ac & free water faucets on every floor with vibrant paintings and wall art! The beds were clean and comfy too! The check in was simple and easy! We would've liked a fridge in here but it's ok. The bottom floor is connected to a restaurant & a food central market type of thing. There are multiple little restaurants there so there's a place for everyone. We grabbed a pizza and a salad & had a nice lunch in our room. We got tokens for drinks at the restaurant next door and free coffee in the AM. They have a driver service as well that you can book and they'll take you to nearby places. I will be back!!! read more

The Maven is located in a really cool location, you can walk to great restaurants and shops. The modern decor is nice, but awkward room design. The moment I booked the hotel I immediately started getting emails trying to upgrade your experience at an extra charge. No storage, pour over coffee pot...such a mess, no refrigerator, electric outlets are old. This hotel is definitely not worth the price. The bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows and sheets are awful, the sheets are starched, very thin probably 100 tread count. For $450 a night, you should have a comfortable bed with nice sheets. We felt very safe there, and the whole vibe is hip, funky, artsy, and just super fun. The rooms were spotless and thoughtfully designed, and the service was warm and welcoming from start to finish. The beds were out of this world comfy!! Valet parking was a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the convenience and knowing the car was secure in the garage. I recently stayed at the Maven which is part of the Denver Milk Market. The market is super cool with seemingly local vendors/restaurants that offer a little bit of everything in terms of food and beverages. The market was super clean and I enjoyed walking around looking at each vendor even though I wasn't looking for food. What was super cool is as we were leaving on Sunday, we walked into a really awesome drag show! Love how locally focused the market is! The hotel was FABULOUS! The rooms were SO BIG, everything was spotless and the bed was so comfy! Great products/amenities, including a free drink during happy hour at the airstream at Kachina. We enjoyed both Kachina, Loca, and the Milk Market while staying here, and did the very short walk to union station to catch the red rocks express. The location was SO convenient. Staff was also super friendly and helpful with recommendations, and we were able to both check in early and checkout late, which was great for enjoying our honeymoon a bit more. :) read more

Compliant is that after our concert there were no options for food at the hotel on a Saturday night at 10:30pm. You can get a drink, but no food late on a Saturday night. I cannot say enough great things about this hotel! I stayed here for a few days on a Pack Up and Go trip so they chose the hotel for me. It's location in the Dairy Block was prime real estate with so many things right nearby like the Milk Market that was connected and Union Station a few blocks away. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and decorated very cool with a focus on art. I had a king room that faced the sky courtyard, the only downside to this room is that it faced an office building with large windows and people in it so I pretty much had to keep my drapes closed the whole time unless I wanted people staring into my room lol. The bed was SO comfy, I haven't slept that well in awhile! Loved the room decor and the pourover coffee was delightful. TV was in a weird location on the side of the bed so had to sort of lay awkwardly to watch it. Bathroom was beautiful, loved the shower! Front desk staff were wonderful and I loved all the perks you got for staying here. You got a chip every day to get a free drink from the cantina airstream trailer. You also got discounts at all the vendors attached to the building including the cantina, social club, and everything in the Milk Market. Overall, really neat hotel! read more

We recently at the beautiful Maven Hotel. It is conveniently located in the Dairy Block area. The hotel is close to Coors Field and McGregor Square. From check in to check out the experience was amazing. In the lobby you'll also find plenty of eatery's and a bar. If you don't fancy anything in the hotel you can walk out towards the back and you'll find bakeries, breweries, and wine bars just steps away from the hotel. When you check in you are greeted by helpful smiling and friendly staff. Upon check in we received happy hour tokens to use for their air stream bar (which was cute in itself). By using the chips they give you you can have your choice in a variety of soft drinks, craft beers, seltzers or house margaritas. You are able to get more happy hour chips everyday during your stay. Pretty cool of them to offer a deal like that! When we got to our room we were amazed at the large size of the room. It was more than plenty of space for two people. It had a round dining table-with four chairs, wet bar area, couch, king size bed, HUGE balcony and large walk in shower. The room was comfortable and clean. No complaints at all about the room. Daily house keeping service is by request only and must be made before 1pm the next day. The my also provide access to a gym, which you'll need to get the key card from the front desk. This was a little different than other hotels because the gym was about a 2 min walk down the alley (100% safe) in the back. It seems like it's a shared gym with other business around. But when we went it was never crowded. It provides plenty of machines, free weights and cardio equipment. There is plenty of space on the gym and it was clean and very well maintained. Loved going there just to get a quick workout. Overall this hotel was amazing and we would love to come back. You will not be disappointed at all with your stay here. P.S. - Parking was $58/night...but if you're willing to walk a block or so, overnight parking at a different garage was a fraction of the cost. read more

Aesthetic wise, the rooms are gorgeous. They are a fine balance of minimalist and contemporary, if that is such a thing. A single wooden desk chair sits by a small desk/table. A decorative lamp hangs from the ceiling where most hotels would have a plush chair and ottoman. A small armoire-type hutch houses a small coffee/tea station, closet, 3 small drawers, and an area to put shoes. The two FULL, not queen sized beds share a headboard and nightstand combo that is attached to the wall--and the sides of the bed away from the nightstand have a little cubby to charge your phone. Functionally, the rooms are lacking. There isn't an available outlet on the nightstand to charge devices. If you're the type who likes to tap your phone or smartwatch in the middle of the night to check the time, you have to get up and find the little cubby on the wall to check the time if you didn't bring a 6' charging cable with you. If you like to unpack, the 3 drawers are small, like nightstand small, and the closet space is only ~18" wide with 4 hangers. It does have an ironing board/iron, and a small safe. The AC is LOUD. It wakes us all up as it kicks on during the night--it was louder than the garbage trucks coming for their morning pick up. The bathroom is spacious, with a sizable walk-in shower, large counter with 2 sinks and huge lit mirror. There's only 1 hook to hang towels, so if you have more than 1 person staying in the room, where do the rest hang their wet towels? There isn't a spot to hang a hand towel, not that one was provided, anyway. The bathroom is stocked with cotton swabs, mini nail files, cotton balls, and packets of toothpaste. The shower has bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash secured to the wall and a bottle of lotion is attached to the wall by the sink. A bar of soap is provided by the sink, but there isn't a soap dish or a designated spot to put that bar of soap. A hair dryer is available for use. Location is great, as there are several bars, eateries, and shops nearby. Front desk staff are very friendly. Complimentary churros are distributed from a retro airstream trailer during happy hour--and guests receive complimentary drink coupons to use during happy hour. TLDR: 4.5/5 stars overall, especially considering the convenience factor. A friend was in Denver from the east coast for work, so I flew in from the west coast for a near-change-of-scenery-cation :D Check in in my friend's absence was seamless. I arrived early evening & there was one person at the front desk. I brought my bag to the room then went back to the lobby for a drink; front desk staff did mention I could order a drink to my room, or take my drink from bar to room if I desired - so convenient! Not to mention, all the super convenient food options in the attached Dairy Block market - take your pick of cuisine, options for nearly everyone. I happened to be in Denver during the early & unexpected first snow of 2022, and while I came prepared for snow, I didn't like it - having the food court attached to the first floor of the hotel was a big plus for me. The room we stayed in was nicely appointed - good clothes storage options, desk, arm chair, bathrobes, iron/ironing board, cups with cute decals, interesting art/lighting/headboard. It was an interior room, so faced an office building (kinda weird) so we had to make sure blinds were closed as you could see immediately into the building next door-but whatever, didn't bother me. I have family in the hotel business, so I'm fairly critical of a few design elements: bathroom accouterments, outlets&nightstands. Our room had outlets on only one side of the bed, thus half a star removed from my overall review. However, the bathroom had larger bottles of soap in the shower (love that hotels are moving away from using tiny single-ish use bottles) and a ton of counter space, plus a bar stool (for the lazy make up applier). If I find myself in need of a hotel convenient to downtown Denver again, I'll definitely consider the Maven. read more

Interesting hotel with pluses and minuses. Good location. Nice friendly staff. Happy Hour drink and a coffee included each day. But the beds are of poor quality, lumpy and too soft. When you move in bed, the cheap support base flex's, creaks and squeaks. Super annoying sounds made during the night. They also use very deep thickness mattresses, but the sheets they use are not the correct size as they are not deep fitted sheets, so the corners come off the mattress during the night. Again, annoying. And a $27/night "amenity" fee that they should simply build into the true nightly room rate. Also annoying. If you get an interior room, you get no daylight - none. But you get to look into the offices of people working 20 feet away! There are better hotel options available. read more

I'm trying to make Denver my winter vacation spot and so far it's working out great! My first time in Denver I stayed at the Mint House/the Grand and that place was awesome!!!! So now I wanted to try a more traditional hotel and the Maven was the winner. The Maven had pretty much everything that I was looking for. A great location, only a block or so from Union Station, a few blocks from the RiNo art district, and close to a lot of restaurants and bars. My room had a balcony facing the Dairy Block, the Maven has a very cool vibe, the rooms are simple but very nice, and my room had an excellent bath tub. I was only here for a few nights but I had a great time at the Maven. During Happy Hour I was able to get a free drink everyday that I was there. The Maven is very different in a great way they so many cool things like the decor in the lobby, the decor in the elevator, the bathroom I had was very impressive, and everything was nice and clean. Oh, I forgot to mention the employees were very nice to me and I even spoke with one who was from San Diego so it was nice that we got a chance to talk I would definitely recommend the Maven! read more

The Maven's lobby showcased a suspended art piece of an open hand made up of reclaimed wood - 'The Quantifiable and The Ineffable' made by Colorado artist Andrew Ramiro Tirado. We stayed in an Innovator Suite King room, an expansive 525 - 575 sq. ft urban loft space. The room had a full sofa, wet bar, dining table, & flexible workspace. The room featured a 2D mixed-media mural by Karen Fisher - 'Mod Maude'. The mural's fashion model imagery was fun & powerful. The king bed was super comfortable, and Forbes approved. The room had a huge balcony with city views of Denver. There were floor-to-ceiling windows with two doors leading out to the balcony. The luxury bathroom amenities included two sinks, two vanity seats, & a massive shower. Dairy Block's alleyway was pedestrian & pet friendly - the clean paths, art installations, and array of shops and restaurants offered a unique and engaging experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the Colorado Wine Walk right in Dairy Block's alleyway. As an enthusiast of both wine & leisurely strolls, we were thrilled to attend this event right at the hotel's doorstep. During our stay we dined at Kachina Cantina located in the Maven's lobby for brunch. Kachina is now serving brunch on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Their brunch was so good that we dined here Saturday & Sunday - repeat customers! The Maven rocks. I had a work trip planned in Denver recently and was looking for a hotel that was centrally located to the city center and fun activities. I selected The Maven for a variety of reasons, but a big one was the courtesy car service. I asked in advance as this would save my wife and I an Uber back and forth to things we wanted to do. The limit is around 2 miles from the hotel, but there is lots that close. I was able to reserve the pickup/drop off for a couple activities in advance, so I could plan my trip. The staff, via email, was prompt and professional and very helpful. The Maven is close to Union Station. About an 8 minute walk while pulling luggage. You can take the metro train to Union Station and be at the hotel quickly. The Maven is close to Coors Field if you are going to an event there (it is just a couple blocks away). Lots of great restaurants. An arcade. Great location. The room my wife and I got was a little pricey. It was around $350. Now, that being said, the room was awesome. I probably went a little bigger than I realized. It had a large couch, dining room table, nice bed, and the bathroom was huge. It also had a barn sliding door to the bathroom. It is great to look at, but it does mean it doesn't "close" all the way like a regular door, so doing your business isn't quite as private as possible. The shower was large enough for several people. There was a unique round tub, but I'm 6'5" and had to sit criss-cross (applesauce) to fit in it. Cool looking, but not supremely functional. The electrical is funky, too. Switches turned on lights in completely different areas. You couldn't have just one or two lights on most of the time. It was nearly all of them or none of them. A switch at the entry door and one in the bathroom didn't do anything. They probably were supposed to, but they weren't working correctly. Also, the plug-in port on my wife's side of the bed did not work. The lobby is neat and there is access to two bars. There is a mini-airstream RV in it that serves sodas and basic drinks as well. I mentioned the car service and my wife and I used that a few times. Very profressional. Really, the money saved on the Ubers we would have had to use (or to rent a car and pay for parking overnight) went to the nice hotel room, so if you think it is a bit spendy, The Maven finds other ways to save you money. Overall, The Maven is a great place. Beautiful room in a great location. Staff is friendly, prompt, and professional. My room had some elctrical issues, but nothing major that really hamperes the experience. If I were to return to Denver, I wouls absolutely look to book The Maven again. They are close to a lot of fun stuff and have all the amenities, so this is a no-brainer place to stay. read more

Rooms are very average and super over priced. The front desk people really don't have time for you. There is a $50 per night resort fee that is above and beyond your nightly rate. That basically pays for a watered down, half pour, margarita and a shuttle service that never has any availability. There seemed to be some major reservation screw ups when we were there as there was a line of people at the front desk just screaming at the front desk staff. The front desk folks were dishing out the "too bad, so sad, bye bye, next" to everyone in line which was just throwing Jet fuel on the situation. This place thinks it's way better than it is. The location is good, which is why the two stars but the rooms, staff, and amenities are garbage for what you pay. read more

It is a block away from the Colorado Rockies stadium and 2 blocks away from Union Station where a train ride will run 15 dollars to the Denver Airport. From the street view, you might accidently pass the hotel since the signage is not large. It blends in with the Dairy Block (neighborhood block) where business seem to share open areas. The lobby is spread out and shares the open space with several other business such as a coffee shop, clothing boutique, and restaurants. Check in was relatively easy, offering a resort fee that includes several privileges such as neighborhood fitness center, complimentary coffee at the shop, discounts on the restaurants, and access to a courtesy car. The room selected was called the 'journeyman', space efficient horizontal style narrow desk space with a lounge chair swing that faces the street (Wazee Street). The fitness center access can be obtained 24 hours a day by asking the staffer for a card key to a quick walk outside the alleyway and 60 steps to a door, leading you upstairs to a large shared fitness center that is used by community people and businesses on the Daily Block. I was surprised that I didn't get much street noise being on the 4th floor and facing 2 major streets but you still do get the traffic noise during certain hours. Staff is great, a refrigerator and microwave are brought up to your room if you request this at no additional charge. Coffee in the room is 'old school'...kettle with a filter with organic coffee or tea. They do provide bottled water for your room and the Wifi connection is quick and efficient for business related issues. The only issue was 1 non-functional elevator and the coffee shop on the lobby level opens at 7 a.m. and not earlier. Still, a good find for downtown Denver that gives you a trendy social sharing, friendly concept. read more

Big no for me, dog. The hallways and rooms smell like wet, dirty dog. I love dogs but for the prices they charge, the overwhelming smell is completely unacceptable. Apparently the whole hotel is "pet-friendly"--not just a few floors. Add to that inflexible checkout times, tiny rooms, tiny beds, no mini fridge, barely any space to unpack, blackout curtains that don't close all the way, the list goes on... Save your money and stay somewhere cleaner and better run. Also, the Kachina restaurant tacos were dry and overly spiced--they stayed with us all afternoon and evening after having them for lunch. read more

This hotel is an amazing find! 1. the value for the money is great. So many perks: 1. If you travel anywhere within a 2 miles radius- you can get chauffeured with the hotel car. 2. Free drinks when you check in from 4-7. 3. The rooms are really spacious, clean, modern. We had a balcony. 4. The water pressure in the shower- I didn't want to get out. 5. DISCOUNTS EVERYWHERE!!!! I am frustrated that the hotel charges $100 for incidentals but has no capacity for room service. Seriously I got in and was ready for a burger and drink. But now have to go downstairs for service. Also the heater fan in my room is super loud and only on high or off. Bummer for the night. SMH read more

While I didn't stay overnight here, I did get to attend a sofar event at the hotel and it was pretty cool! The event was well planned and one of the hotel bars were serving drinks. There was a good variety of local drinks and cocktails available. The lobby itself was also a cool little vibe that almost looked like it's own indoor marketplace. Very cool spot that I hope to encounter again. read more

Not very clean. Housekeeping doesn't understand (or chooses not to understand) what you ask of them and even when you put the do not disturb sign on, they come in when you're gone. Do to what? That's unknown. The Maven gives you a "chip" for a cocktail ($25.00 added fee to your room, not optional, resort fee). This cocktail is not good in the bar and if you get something from the "trailer" you can't drink it in the bar! Rude waitress in the unaffiliated bar, Poka Lola. read more

We have stayed here a few times in some of their nicer rooms. It's a great location and overall a fun hotel, nicely designed/built with lots of nearby restaurant options. My only frustration is, given the cost, it needs a bit of polish and that shouldn't be on me, the guest, to create a room deficiency list. But here we go: our wifi was on the fritz, some of the restroom lights were burnt out, the drains were slow, the bathroom didn't have towel hooks, the pocket door needed to be reset on its track to be closed properly, all the planter boxes on the balconies had dead plants, etc.... Nothing earth shattering and thus the 4-stars. We still like the hotel and will probably come back but please pay attention to these details, especially given the costs of the rooms. read more

I hosted my college graduation party at a space here and it went very smooth! The hotel is very clean, upscale, and they really work with you on your vision for the event! The food is really delicious too. If you are looking for an event for around 100 people - I'd do it here! read more

Did a staycation here one night. This is probably my favorite semi-hipster hotel in Denver so far. I say semi-hipster because a true hipster would not be caught dead at any of these places. I liked the swing in the room (like the swings by the elevators). I also liked the upgrade from Apprentice to Journeyman room. Super friendly check in staff. Metal doors and do not disturb magnetic signs - brilliant. We got lots of little freebies including 2 free drinks and $10 credit on breakfast. The fitness center was amazing. Get directions from the front desk tho. But I do not recommend the margarita as your free drink. Get a beer. My margarita was poured super hard, I drank it all (on me, I know) and it ruined my evening for better alcohol options I had planned. read more

I'm kind of torn about the Maven. The really cool shower leaked, the light controls were maddening, and there's no fridge in the wet bar. On the other hand, the location is super convenient and they have great perqs, including car service to nearby locations, a free happy hour and a really pretty hotel. It was quiet and clean, and front staff desk was nice. read more

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. The room configuration is uncomfortable and awkward. The shower is in the middle of the room. There is nowhere to put clothes. Half the wall sockets are broken and the ones that work aren't near the bed for charging your phone. The mattress is old and drooping. Oh and it's loud. read more

Stayed here over the weekend for two days for a birthday get away really enjoyed the vacation! The hotel was a cool concept with a food market/hall in the lobby. It was really nice not having to always plan where your next meal was! I liked too that the food hall still had a wait staff so you weren't waiting in long lines etc. The rooms are really large and comfortable beds! We even got the resort discount when we ordered room service. My only complaints the resort fee was a little high and dairy block taxes, it was nice getting free coffee in the morning though! I wish the happy hour had more offerings for the price, I've stayed at other hotels that had lower resort fee and more happy hour options. Overall really cool location in Denver- we barely had to take Ubers which was really nice to be able to do so much within walking distance without having to rent a car or find an Uber! read more
